Although many of our people are still fixated on developing other parts of Nigeria especially Lagos, Abuja than their own states or communities. For the first time since i came to America, i have heard Igbo people talk about owning something in their own states or key urban centers at Enugu, Onitsha,Owerri, Aba. Even cities as Awka, Asaba, Abakaliki, Umuahia, Okigwe,Nsukka,Nnewi,Orlu etc have been coming up in conversation where people want to invest.

This new attitude has shocked me because the average Igboman a few years ago will boast about being born in Maiduguri and has 20 buildings there and married his first daughter to a Kanuri chief.

I think finally, the scales are falling off our eyes to see Nigeria as it is, not what we wish it should be, so that we can reason properly.
Nsukka people have started investing massively in the town. Real estate and hospitality are the focal point.

Spyder880 The only reservation that I have with your comment is insinuating that Anambra and Enugu have something binding us. I completely disagree. You are not in rhythm with reality in that aspect. Anambra and Enugu have nothing in common. We are as far apart as THE NORTH POLE is from the SOUTH POLE. In terms of language(dialect), behaviour, economic status, Igboness, achievements, etc. Anambra indigenes are light years ahead of our neighbours in any positive area you can think of.
Since 2015 I have been following this thread, You don't appear to be tired of stupidity! How can one grown ass man be so consistent in tomfoolery?

look at this old man, you said igbo tidy lagos, lol!!! it is a pity i cant post some documents here, but let me tell you, in terms of civillization no ethnic group comes near the yorubas, when did your people started wearing cloths? your people only came to lagos when everything is done and dusted, go and read about your history that is if you have one, trust me, when we were building an empire your people were naked roaming the eastern jungles looking for bush meat to devour raw.[/quote I hope Abeokuta was part of Yoruba civilization? I'm in abeokuta and the town don't have street! No street road. We igbos always challenge you to replicate Lagos in your other towns but no. Lagos was developed by the whites then Nigerian govt. Not Awo or anybody.

Politics / Igbo's In The Southeast Are The Problem For Igbo Denial Across The Niger by AlNur: 2:44pm On Nov 25, 2017
One of the major problems militating against southern unity is the south-east and their victim mentality.

Especially concerning the issue of who is Igbo.

It is a known fact that Nzeogwu led a coup termed "Igbo coup" whose results was untold hardship and a genocide upon people of majorly Igbo ancestry and generally, the old eastern region.

However, my Igbo brothers who have found theirselves on the eastern borders of the Niger river wants to claim all the devastation to themselves.

They want us to say we didn't suffer also the destructions of lives and properties, just because some river acts as divide.

They're all too willing to talk about the marginalization they suffer because they "stood up against the Nigerian forces", conveniently forgetting officers and men from the west of the river Niger who led such resilience.

They don't talk about the Asaba massacre, it goes against their beliefs that they were the saviours who had to be hung on the cross.

In the most unruly and self serving manner, they want to tell you your own history and how saturated an Igbo you are.

They have arrogated to themselves "pure Igbo" and as the Jews did to the Samaritans, every other Igbo not domiciled in the south-east is an alloy.

Then when they realize that things have started favoring their "impure" brothers, they start fraternizing.

When Mike Okiro became IGP, they said, he wasn't "pure Igbo". Same was said for Ezeoba(chief of naval staff under Jonathan), currently also for our state minister for petroleum and then the CBN governor.

What they fail to realize is that the same marginalization they moan about is what we face, even in greater proportions, but we graciously challenge them and have pockets of victories.

Politically, Igbos stand a higher chance with a candidate from the "non-core Igbo states", yet, our brothers would rather die in marginalization than watch any other "who didn't sacrifice during the war" ascend, answering Igbo.

They formulated and introduced the derogatory term "delta Igbo", (a very effective tool used in the continuing division encouraged by her enemies), just to be sanctimonious and reinforce the "purebreed" mentality.

How then do we blame those who have grown up to believe they aren't Igbos, even though they bear Igbo names and practice Igbo traditions.

Let's get over the past and come together and forge a better future, for as a saying goes "united we stand, divided we fall".

Umuigbo, Igbo wu ofu!

I'm sure both you and your brother are mediocre, and the alacrity at which he was shut down by your ill fated arguments shows that.

At first neither both PMB nor GEJ caused it, we're in recession because of our over dependence on oil, and when global oil price dropped, during Buhari regime, we we're unable to cope because GEJ left little or nothing in our Foreign reserve.

Saudi arabia enters recession with over 300 billion dollars in foreign reserve, and were however able to maintain it's economy.

What is Buhari fault in this his fault is fighting corruption that has already been engulfed by GEJ administration, Stealing is not corruption crooner , I'm sure he should be awarded for that statement.

It's either we take it or leave it, we're in the situation we are now, because we've not been saving when oil was selling above 140 dollars per barrel, your so called GeJ was busy drinking in Aso rock while the likes of dasuki were looting our reserves.

Buhari is on the right track but at the wrong time, our economy needs to be diversified. most advanced countries has their economy diversified into many sectors like Agriculture, production etc.

take a cue from india, Malaysia and Singapore, Thailand etc...... We cannot just face oil alone, what has happened to the pyramid of groundnut in kano, Cotton of zaria and Ginger of Southern kaduna, cocoa of south west, oil palms etc...

I strongly believe Davido did not issue a dud cheque , first because his dad is rich , second because he's rich and third because his family is rich

It's either he's not done BVN

Or his Dad placed restriction on his account for excessive spendings

Or it's OBO /HKN company account he is making the withdrawal from and they didn't agree with him

Or the bank called to verify the cheque but he was too drunk or high to confirm it

Let's watch the story unfold

And the so called Law firm's letter stated ONE MILLION FOUR HUNDRED MILLION NAIRA ( could this be why bank didn't pay) ?

At the same time I can't blame them is useless PDP that want power by all means I will blame. They are the one giving them too much popularity and they will later regret it.Is it possible for any other tribe to do all this nonsense in their state?Bunch of ingrate.Lagos give you opportunity to be part of their government by appointing you commissioners, hon and other benefits but you can't think to appreciate rather to be ungrateful.Like I used to tell your ibo fellows that yorubas don't like problem but if you put us to the wall you will see hell more than what Oba Akiolu said.In term of everything in the country and around the world we senior you.Education, population, money, international connection etc we are not your mate.If it leads to war honestly speaking you will go down in history.just a little word for you!
