Career / Re: University Degree Only For Gaining Self Confidence by Aluka3588: 3:47pm On Dec 15, 2010
If Francis Bacon who popularized the saying that 'knowledge is power' were to be here, reading this thread, he will absolutely disagree with the poster. That is why I wish to opine that relegating the essence and necessity of a University Degree to the level of providing a mere social status is very problematic. This thought pattern will make the acquisition of such a degree a do or die affair, either by a crook or foul means. It should never be like that, because the IQ of all men are not the same. While others can carry the course load and burden of university education, some others may not measure up and will therefore make due with the learning of one skill or another.

Sagamite, take it or leave it. It is a short hand kind of writing. It should not be a basis for assessment.

Sagamite, sometimes one has got to shorting his words. May be use short hand to make due with the little amount of time available to him. It's an informal setting you know. Other people use it as well. So, I dont know why it is your problem.

Such generalization about dt less worth of 9ja university degrees these days gets me nervous wenever I hear it. Please, good friends, dnt swallow hook, line and sinker everytyn u hear d media portray as d state of affairs of our erudition. We're nt quack graduates. We may nt have had d best environment 4 learning n our tertiary institutions, but it does nt sign us as half-baked. It does nt supress d die hard spirit of a typical 9jan. Even in dt lamentable situation, he is optimistic, while going d extra mile of doing wat is within his reach @ providing d little he can to make a difference.

I want to commend @ ds juncture all dose who have replied ds thread asserting d 'can do spirit of 9jans'. It reminded me of a friend who recently travelled 2 India 4 a certificate course. He's a 9ja graduate 4rm FUTO. He exhibited ds 'optimistic and can do spirit of d 9jan' and was on top of every oda person. It might interest u dt he may nt have grad wt 1st Class here n 9ja, bt he had it outside 9ja. Come 2 tnk of wat will be d level of dos dt grad wt 1st Class. They'll b geniuses of d 1st order all over d world.

Please, we are nt half - baked graduates. If odas say they are, personally, I'm not. Bt, they have not said they are. I am a bona fide 9ja graduate, and I believe I can compete favourably, and even assert myself over and above my mates and beat them hands down anywhere d world over, any day, and @ any time.

Greatest 9jan graduates! Great
Sports / Re: Adamu Blasts Nff Over Galadima's Nomination by Aluka3588: 12:49am On Nov 29, 2010
Amos Adamu is shameless. Watz he appealin for? Is claiming to b innocent? Why shld be suspend @ all by FIFA wen they argued dt he was duly cleared of 3 charges against him. They know demselves and i believe they play d same foul game n FIFA and NFF. Is he too ignorant to knw dt NFF is tired of him. He has tried 4 9ja and we have done our best 4 him to. He has made fortune from football, in every foul means and crooked way available @ his disposal. Described as d wealthiest civil servant in 9ja.

He tnks dt changing NFA 2 NFF makes it his personal property. Why is worried. It is NFF and 9jans dt shld've worried cos our absence in FIFA 4 3yrs running. He shld use dt 3yrs 2 prepare himself 4 his final calln wt d creator. I'm nt judging him but d evil he perpetrated were uncountable.
Politics / Re: Atiku To Obasanjo: You Would Have Rot In Prison by Aluka3588: 12:20am On Nov 29, 2010
d rebranding project is on course. Wat do u tnk? Me i wonder o o. Dose who shld've become elder statesmen 4 us, are d same people who behaviours kept us wondering wia we're heading 2.

In reaction 2 d allegation made by Atiku dt d presidency z mis-managing our resources, while falsifying d budget, Prof Pat Utomi 2day on his facebook page asked weda, itz an acceptance, confession or revelation. Well, ATIKU has played d game b4, he knw d rudiments. He shld all GEJ 2 play a little of it.

He has d money. We're no longer querying him abt his source of wealth. He shld stay cool, enjoy his money and spare us d headache he is causing us, while making d polity 2 heat up.

As 4 OBJ, na d same people. They shld nt be coming out and making a noise. They've done dia best, which was too bad a best. They shld allow us be, while giving oda people d chance 2 try out dia own talent and mandate.
Politics / Re: What Dora Akunyili Should Rebrand In This Country by Aluka3588: 11:29pm On Nov 28, 2010
rebranding project is a welcome develoment. My problem with it is about what and whom we are rebranding for? If we're rebranding just 2 get wide acceptance and commendation from the international community, we're get'n it d wrong way. Cos d homefront here shld be considered too. Rebranding shld start 4rm within. 9jans are greedy. Our leaders are saddists 4 'saddis has become d ruling class religion, cos of their inglorious silence'. I believe dt d change in attiude shld start 4rm d head. They're d cause of our problem. Diaz not'n wrong wt d name . .nigeria
