The Federal Road Safety Corps has said no fewer than five persons lost their lives in a fatal accident on the Nsukka-Obollo road in Enugu State.

FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Ogbonnaya Kalu, made this known in a statement on Sunday in Enugu.

Kalu said the accident occurred at about 4pm at Kpokpo junction, by Micho Link Filling Station, on the ever-busy road.

He said FRSC officials took two seriously injured victims of the accident to the hospital while the remains of the dead were deposited at the morgue.

The FRSC boss said, “At about 4:20 pm., the command got a distress call from a passerby, who informed the Unit Commander at Nsukka of a fatal crash at Kpokpo junction, by Micho Link Filling Station, on the Nsukka-Obollo road.

“Two patrol teams were promptly drafted to the scene.

“On getting to the crash scene, it was observed that the road crash was as a result of wrongful overtaking by a green Toyota Sienna, with registration number KMK 273 SC.

“The wrong overtaking led to a head-on collision with a multiple-coloured truck (vehicle registration number not found), loaded with fertilisers.

“In the process of the accident, all the five occupants of the Toyota Sienna vehicle died, while the driver of the truck and his conductor were taken to the hospital.

“The FRSC personnel from the Nsukka Unit Command took the dead victims to the Daughters of Divine Love Hospital, Eha-Alumona and deposited their corpses at the hospital’s morgue.”

The family of Adjogbe in Evwreni community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has accused the community's monarch, Oghenekevwe Kumane, of ordering the killing of their son, Sylvester Adjogbe.

Sylvester, younger brother to the immediate past Executive Director, Projects, of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Samuel Adjogbe, was killed on July 1, 2020 by armed vigilante codenamed "Bakassi Boys" on the alleged orders of the monarch.

Crisis had engulfed the community few weeks ago following the disbandment of the community's local security outfit said to be working with the monarch, leading to the alleged killing of two persons; one Marcus Uba and a little girl, Esther Kowfigho, while the house of one Matthew Uba was vandalised by the local vigilante.

The development, our correspondent reliably gathered, had on June 20, 2020 led to the failed attempted assassination of Samuel Adjogbe along the East/West Road close to the community, leaving one of his aides and driver hospitalised.

According to sources, a police team from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Asaba, led by one John Agbajie, stormed the community to arrest a suspect, Atiri Stephen, but the monarch allegedly mobilised his local vigilante and prevented the arrest.

Addressing journalists on Sunday on behalf of the Adjogbe family, Lucky Adjogbe, a member of the family, accused the traditional ruler of ordering the killing of their son, Sylvester, at the family compund at Evwreni community.

"Our brother, Sylvester Adjogbe, 34, was gruesomely murdered at the family compound on July 1, 2020, by one Kelly Omojugheri on the orders of the Ovie of Evwreni Kingdom, HRM Oghenekevwe Kumane, and we demand justice.

"We are calling on the Inspector-General of Police, Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to investigate the circumstance leading to the murder of our younger brother and bring the perpetuator to book, anything short of this is injustice."

Meanwhile, cameraman of a popular television station in Nigeria, Tom Edet, has narrowly escaped death at the palace of the traditional ruler.

Narrating his ordeal, Edet said he had visited the traditional ruler last week to get his side of the story but was surrounded by "Bakassi Boys" stationed at the palace who allegedly harassed and molested him.

When our correspondent contacted the traditional ruler, Kumane, over the issue, he declined comments as soon as he realised he was speaking with a journalist.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onowakpoyeya, confirmed the crisis in the community when contacted by our correspondent, saying that "investigations are still ongoing".

Alsina said he had lost money and relationships because of rumors he had been involved with Pinkett Smith, 48.

The actress and her 51-year-old husband have long been the subject of rumors that they have an open marriage.

The Command, stationed in Ketu South in the Volta Region, nabbed the suspect on Monday, July 6 when he attempted to illegally enter Ghana through the main Aflao border, Ghanaweb reports

The Aflao Sector Command of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has arrested one Emmanuel Phillip, suspected to be a Nigerian by nationality, with the new Ghana voter ID card.


The Command, stationed in Ketu South in the Volta Region, nabbed the suspect on Monday, July 6 when he attempted to illegally enter Ghana through the main Aflao border, Ghanaweb reports

A statement issued by Assistant Inspector Felix Klu-Adjei on Thursday said a search conducted on him found the new voter ID card.

Upon interrogation by the Aflao Sector Commander of GIS, Chief Superintendent Frederick Baah Duodu, the suspect said he lived with one Jerry Azametsi, a native of Aflao, and his wife, Abigail Togbor.

He confessed that the two had persuaded him to register and they even stood in as guarantors for him.

After an invitation to assist in investigations, Mr Azametsi confessed that he aided his Nigerian friend who lives in Togo but visits regularly to register for the new voter ID card. He admitted that he only asked him to take advantage of the registration exercise and get the card.

The Aflao Sector Command of the GIS has since handed over the prime suspect and the two guarantors to the Aflao District Police for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.

Retired Navy Admiral's Daughter, Driver Killed By Kidnappers In Kogi

The driver was identified as Pomtd Lifu Ji with navy number X9307. Their remains have since been moved to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have shot dead the daughter of a retired Navy Rear Admiral, J Onubi, and his driver along the Lokoja-Abuja highway.

The driver was identified as Pomtd Lifu Ji with navy number X9307. Their remains have since been moved to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.

SaharaReporters gathered that Onubi’s orderly, Osca Ahmadu, who was in the same vehicle with the victims, escaped into the bush.

The incident happened hours after an unidentified naval officer and a woman in camouflage were killed along the same highway.

On July 7, a Nigerian Army officer, GSM Abubakar, attached to the 353 Artillery Regiment, was also killed on the notorious Okene -Lokoja highway, while travelling from Lagos to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.

The police have arrested the All Progressive Congress ward chairman in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Christopher Ogah, for allegedly defiling two girls in his house in Obi town.

Alhaji Mohammad Oyimoga Oyigye, Chairman of the Local Government Area, said he saved Ogah from being lynched by angry youth, who caught him and immediately handed him over to the police.

A witness said the APC chairman lured the girls when they entered his house to fetch water, adding that it was not his first time of committing such crime.

He said the two girls were 12 and 13-respectively.

Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, said he had directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for a discreet investigation after which the suspect will be charged to court.

“The police under my watch want to warn would-be rapist to have a rethink or face the wrath of the law.

”I am assuring the public of the police command’s commitment to arrest and prosecute anyone found wanting no matter how highly placed,” he said

The Kibaku (Chibok) Area Development Association (KADA) has accused Nigerian Government of abandoning and neglecting the Chibok Girls who enrolled for scholarship programme at American University of Nigeria, Yola, Adamawa State.

The group said 10 out of them had pulled out of the programme out of frustration.

In a statement on Tuesday jointly signed by Dauda Ndirpaya Iliya and Manasseh Allen, the National President and Director of Media and Publicity respectively of the association said the girls were discriminated against and not allowed to mingle, interact, and socialise with other students.

The group added that the Nigerian Government had frustrated many foreign and local assistance that came the way of the girls.

The group explained that many schools abroad and voluntary organisations, who have offered to provide them with scholarships were hindered and sabotaged by the Buhari's government.

The statement added that Chibok Government Secondary School project have been abandoned and now a shadow of itself since the terrorists carried out the attack on April 2014.

The statement reads, "Our returned daughters enrolled at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) Yola, have not made much progress and feel frustrated not understanding the direction of things or being properly briefed of their future.

"Ten of them have out of frustration left the programme, they are Laraba Mamman, Mwa Daniel, Rachael Nkeki (who are now married), Saraya Yanga, Philomena Dauda, Sarah Nkeki, Asabe Lawan, Glory Mainta, Talatu Adamu, and Lydia Habila.

"Neither the families nor the Kibaku community have been briefed and informed by the Federal Government on rescue efforts or the whereabouts of our daughters since the last batch of 82 returned on 7 May, 2017.

"Except the messages by President Muhammadu Buhari released every 13 April since then, on the eve of the 14 April commemoration. These messages are basically same copy-and-paste with minor alterations year in, year out."

In what could be described as inhumane treatment, Some Nigerian Policemen enforcing the no mask, no movement order fiercely manhandled a pregnant woman and her husband who stepped out of their car to ease herself in a nearby bank.

The Federal Government has revealed plans to end the monopoly enjoyed by cable television service providers, especially Digital Satellite Television, owned by MultiChoice, a South Africa-based company.

Only DStv currently broadcasts major football competitions in Nigeria, especially the English Premier League.

The government said it had amended Nigeria’s broadcasting code to prevent DStv and others from monopolising their channels and contents.

The House has been probing DStv for allegedly cheating its Nigerian subscribers by restricting them to prepaid plans and increasing its subscription rates on June 1, 2020, despite the economic impact of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown on the people.

At the continuation of the investigative hearings organised by an ad hoc committee of the House on the matter in Abuja on Tuesday, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had dismissed claims by DStv that pay-per-view was not proper for the Nigerian market.

Mohammed noted that StarTimes, the cable arm of the Nigerian Television Authority, was already operating for some years.

In an audio recording obtained by our correspondent, Mohammed could be heard responding to questions from the lawmakers.

The minister said, “On the issue of increase in price for subscribers, with the onset of COVID-19, one of the first things we did in the ministry with the NBC (National Broadcasting Commission) was to provide succour to broadcasters.

“We suspended payment for the initial two months to all broadcasters so that they would be able to absorb the impact of COVID-19. Therefore, it will be unfair for those for whom we have suspended payment to also at the same time increase their own fees. And I’m sure that the DG of NBC will take up this matter.”

On the issue of monopoly, Mohammed stated that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), had in 2019 set up a board of enquiry to look into the activities of broadcasting stations, to ascertain the potency of the broadcasting code and broadcasting act to curtail and regulate the industry against excesses.

He added, “We took that opportunity also to make right recommendations to Mr President, including the breaking of the monopoly of the various giant operators. It is to the credit of Mr President that he did approve those recommendations.”

Mohammed noted that some recommendations would require that the National Assembly amend the provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Act.


The minister said, “You will notice, in recent weeks, a lot of attacks on the ministry as a result of these amendments. These amendments have actually struck at the heart of monopoly. These amendments are, for once, giving back to Nigerians their own industry.”

Earlier, Chairman of the committee, Mr Unyime Idem, asked Mohammed and the acting Director General of the NBC, Armstrong Idachaba, to order DStv to suspend its recent rates’ increment.

Mohammed immediately ordered the Idachaba to issue the notice.

Idem had stated that the minister and all stakeholders present should ensure and commence full implementation of its directives.

The House committee’s order included “a marching order to the service providers, particularly Multichoice’s DStv, to reverse the recent June 1, 2020 price hike and revert to the old price as this is not the best of times to increase the prices of services, no matter the reasons for such increase, taking into consideration the ravaging effect of COVID-19 on the economy of Nigerians.”

It added, “Come up with a robust strategy to break the monopoly and open up the industry for larger participation. PAYG regime for the digital TV broadcasting in Nigeria, with particular reference to DStv, GOtv, StarTimes and Kwese TV.

“Deregulation of content right by DTH (direct-to home), DTT (digital terrestrial television) and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) operators. Encouraging local content participation through content sharing

Second of all, winning the league is not a prerequisite for winning the award, after all Van Dijk won the award last year and he didn't win the league.

Look I'm gonna be honest here .

I'm a Liverpool fan, I have been for a long time now.

But I just have to say that I think Kevin De bruyne deserves the nomination.

He's been phenomenal for city even though city themselves have been less than stellar this season.

To have a man who plays his best in every game isn't common in this day and age.

Just in: Reports just reaching us from Jakarta, Indonesia....
In a video that was sent to HenryTv blog, Nigerians were being smashed and arrested in droves for attacking fake immigration officer that came to extort them. Few hours later, the main police came and began to smash Nigerians mercilessly.

Recall that just recently, some 'hoodlums' attacked and vandalised the Nigerian embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. The aggrieved Nigerians highlighted negligence on the part of the Nigerian authorities in Indonesia, as the cause of the high rate of killings of Nigerians over the week by Indonesian police.

Ikorodu Bois comprises 3 brothers and their cousin: brothers Babatunde Sanni, 23, Muiz Sanni,15, Malik Sanni, 10 and their cousin Fawas Aina, 13. The three young boys are usually involved in the videos and their eldest brother Babatunde Sanni edits the videos and manages them.
They dubbed their name from the city of Ikorodu in Lagos, Nigeria where they live.

The group began in 2017, when Babatunde Sanni decided to share their skills to the world via social media. In an Interview with CNN, Sanni said "I felt like 'these things we are doing in our house -- why don't we start putting them online?'". "Our house is like a comedy house -- we play too much," Babatunde Sanni told CNN.

The group make use of household items to depict top gears used in movies. They also use the local wheel barrow to replicate luxury cars.

In April 2020, US actor and rapper Will Smith shared a clip of Ikorodu bois Bad Boys Forever on his Instagram page with the caption "This is GENIUS @ikorodu_bois!!".

Alvaro Morte who starred as Professor in Money Heist after watching a mimicry of the Spanish Series scene said they did "What an amazing job".

7. Dr. Bennett Omalu

Bennet Ifeakandu Omalu (born September 30, 1968) is a Nigerian physician, forensic pathologist and neuropathologist who was the first to discover and publish findings on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in American football players while working at the Allegheny County coroner's office in Pittsburgh.

He later became the chief medical examiner for San Joaquin County, California, and is a professor at the University of California, Davis, department of medical pathology and laboratory medicine. Have you seen the movie 'concussion' ? That's him!

1. Odion Jude Ighalo

Ighalo moved to United on a six-month loan deal from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua during the January transfer window.

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu Rex (born 23 July 1991), known professionally as Burna Boy, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.
He rose to prominence in 2012 after releasing "Like to Party", the lead single from his debut studio album L.I.F.E (2013). In 2017, Burna Boy signed with Bad Habit/Atlantic Records in the United States and Warner Music Group internationally. His third studio album Outside marked his major-label debut.

In 2019, he won Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards, and was announced as an Apple Music Up Next artist. On 28th June, 2020 he won Best International Act at the 2020 BET Awards. The boy is doing well.
