Our politicians are looting the national treasury, while the youths have taken up Cyber crime and drugs as a means of survival. The recent rape issues springing up doesn't help the image of our dear country either. For Nigerians abroad or want to travel abroad, they now face constant checks, suspicion and outright denial because a few bad eggs have soiled the image of Nigeria. Just Google Nigeria and see the kind of terrible news about the country. We need to do better. We are better. We have the best in virtually all spheres of life. Controversial media personality, Kemi Olunloyo, has said that Olalekan Jacob Ponle, aka Mr. Woodberry, who was arrested with Hushpuppi alongside 10 others, has fallen sick in Prison.
Kemi who revealed that they have spent 10 days in Moshannon federal prison, United State, said he is being treated.


“Hushpuppi and Woodberry have spent 9 days in Moshannon federal prison. Sadly Woodberry has fallen ill and being treated. They did not expect this. Criminal Fraudsters $450M” she tweeted.

It could be recalled that Dubai police accused Hushpuppi and his cybercrime squad of defrauding over 1, 926,400 victims of $435.6 million. $40.9 million in cash and more than a dozen luxury cars were seized during the arrest.

Moshannon Valley Correctional Center is a federal prison for men located in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, privately operated by the GEO Group under contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. It has a prisoner capacity of 1,878.

The facility began accepting prisoners in April 2006 and has been expanded since. At opening it was the first privately owned prison in Pennsylvania. It houses low-security, nonviolent criminal aliens.

Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury and head of the Church of England, has said the church should reconsider its portrayal of Jesus as a White man.

Speaking to the BBC Today Programme, Welby was asked whether the way the western church "portrays Jesus" needed to be "thought about again" and "re-imagined" in light of recent Black Lives Matter protests following the death of George Floyd.
"Yes, of course it does," he said, adding that Jesus was portrayed differently in countries around the world. He was regularly in touch with Anglican Church leaders from around the world, he said, who did not portray Jesus as White.
"You go into their churches and you don't see a White Jesus -- you see a Black Jesus, or Chinese Jesus, or a Middle Eastern Jesus -- which is of course the most accurate.
"You see a Fijian Jesus -- you see Jesus portrayed in as many ways as there are cultures, languages and understandings."
Welby added that the representations of Jesus were not, however, "who we worship" but rather served as a "reminder of the universality of the God who became fully human."

A woman and her three children, including a one-month-old baby, were burnt to death inside their apartment in the Nkangbe area of Minna, the Niger state capital today June 10.

According to reports, the woman lived with her hubby and his other wife, Fati, inside the building. In the night, an intense fire engulfed the building, burning her and her children to death while the second wife and her two children suffered serious burns.

A neighbor who spoke on the incident, said the husband of both women usually stayed in Abuja where he worked and returned home most weekends. The neighbor said at about 11pm, the women cried for help after they noticed the intense fire in their home. The men of the fire service responded to the distress call made to them but were seriously hindered by the jammed doors and window burglaries in the home. The cause of the fire is yet unknown.

“We tried as much as we could but we couldn’t get inside. With the help of the fire service, we rescued the second wife through the window and she was wounded and had some burns. When we were able to get inside as men of the fire service tried their best to rescue the second wife and her children but before we could get inside their room, they were already burnt.” a neighbor said

One of the men of the fire service said
“There were four casualties and the cause of the fire is not known. The people here say their transformer has been spoilt and they said the people in the house did not put on the generator that night. Everything in the house was burnt down, nothing could be salvaged. It is very unfortunate. We are awaiting the arrival of our Controller to come and access the house

Nigerian indigenous rapper, Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner popularly known as Zoro, has reported the rape allegation levelled against him to the Nigerian police force.

The rapper made this known via Instagram on the 9th of June where he stated that the claims made by Crystal YchitAyuba (mystic_sweetness) on social media against him were not true as that is an attempt to defame his character and spoil his brand. Following the rape accusation, Zoro also revealed his relationship with brands has been affected, causing him "loss of business profit, character issue, harassment and embarrassment"

This statement, informing fans to not pay heed to the accuser, was accompanied by a document which shows the official police statement made by Zoro to the Nigerian police force.

Nigerian singer Burna Boy has been unveiled as the most-streamed artist in Sub-Saharan Africa, according to Billboard.

The list titled “Billboard’s Top 15 Sub-Saharan African Artists” which is based on global views, showed Starboy Wizkid has fallen below the pecking order.

With many of his fans expecting him to be the leader of the Nigerian music industry, he fell five places down the list and three places above his compatriot Mr. Eazi.

Burna Boy once again showed just why he is truly the African Giant.

He took the top spot with 435.57 million views. Tanzanian Diamond Platnumz comes in second with 291.98 million views.

Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey has said he’s giving $3 million to former NFL player Colin Kaepernick’s organization Know Your Rights Camp.

Dorsey is the the latest tech executive to give to anti-racist organizations in the wake of widespread protests over the killing of George Floyd, a black man in Minneapolis. A video of a white policeman kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nearly 9 minutes while he pleaded that he couldn’t breathe was shared widely on social media, igniting demonstrations across the world.

Dorsey has also faced recent criticism from President Donald Trump and right-wing conservatives for placing a “public interest notice” over a recent tweet by Trump for the first time. Twitter said Trump’s post, which said, “when the looting starts, the shooting starts,” violated its policies about glorifying violence.

Kaepernick is best known for his time playing for the San Francisco 49ers, where he kneeled during the national anthem in protest of police killings against black people. The NFL and many conservatives criticized the gesture, saying it disrespected soldiers. Kapernick’s organization educates young people about their rights.

The grant will help “advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization to elevate the next generation of change leaders,” Dorsey stated.

Dorsey joins other tech companies and executives giving to organizations in the wake of Floyd’s murder. Google CEO Sundar Pichai said Wednesday the company will provide $12 million in funding to organizations working to address racial inequities.

Boxing heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has joined demonstrators in his home town of Watford to protest against racism and police brutality following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, USA.
