@uzoo , you also have a breadmaker? I bought a Breadman Junior Bread Bakery thingymajiggy a few months ago. I've only used it once cause the bread came out like Olumo Rock! Actuially Olumo rock is better because it's a tourist attraction. I think the garbage guys cursed me when they had to load that loaf into the garbage truck the next morning sha I used the same bread quantities I usually use in a normal oven, but they clearly did not work. do you have a bread recipe that works with a breadmaker? please? |

JazzyJ: @ Jazzy Sorry, I meant to Answer you earlier, I'm glad your hubby is enjoying the food. If he's anything like Brash (MrCrackles) then his tummy is definitely the way to his heart , with a good sense of humour of course I have no idea what they sell in Malaysia. Never been there. Ogbono is made from the seed of Wild Mango, it makes soup drawy, kind of like okro , but with a different taste. It's also called bush mango, African bush mango, wild mango, oba If you can't find any in your local store s you can get it online at Asiamex.com I think they sell in Malaysia Ikang ubong are pumpkin leaves ( Ugwu in igbo), I'm sure you can find a friend or neighbour with squash or pumpkin plants in their garden that you can steal a few laves from abi? Water leaf is also called Ceylon Spinach? in your part of the world maybe Chan Cai, Remayong or Gendola. You may well be able to get it at the local veggie market as it's a common tropical plant. this is what the plant looks like.

Aloy.Emeka: This is from one of the links I posted earlier. Firm population figures do not exist and no census has been conducted in Nigeria for 10 years. But population experts agree Nigeria, overall, has one of the world's highest rates of multiple births, with the southwest being particularly prone. A study conducted between 1972 and 1982 by researcher P.S. Nylander recorded an average of 45 to 50 sets of twins per 1 000 live births in the southwest, four times higher than in Europe or the United States. Reading is a fundamental skill and it pays for us to master it if we are going to function well in the 21st century my dear. Try to keep that in mind next time. 1 Like |

LadyT: OOH!! don't even get me started on the kitchen cloths and sponges A study carried out 10 years ago by Dean Cliver, a professor of food safety at the University of California found that 10 per cent of kitchen sponges contained salmonella. Internationally, 90 per cent of kitchen cloths, 46 per cent of kitchen sinks, 38 per cent of bathroom sinks and 14 per cent of children's toys failed the test, meaning they had a total bacteria count of more than 100,000 per square centimetre. They can cause diarrhea or infections with flu-like symptoms that are especially dangerous to small children, the elderly and pregnant women. Food spills and juice should be wiped up with a paper towel and dumped. That avoids contact with a bacteria-infected sponge or dish cloth where the bacteria will feed on the food and drink supplied. on the up side Dishcloths and sponges are known to breed microbes such as E. coli and salmonella, that can cause potentially lethal food poisoning. Researchers in the U.S. have found that the microwave is an effective weapon against them. Two minutes in the microwave can kill 99 per cent of the germs harboured by kitchen sponges, scientists have found. Credible source links for all u doubting Thomases. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-431023/Microwaves-turn-kitchen-cloths-germ-killers.html Zap those kitchen sponges B4 you poison your family and friends o jare!! http://www.virtualcancercentre.com/news.asp?artid=9113 |

Now for all the gross details (scientific explanation is minimal with sarcasm, comedy, and cold hard truth). The human mouth contains a minimum of between 8 and 10 different types of bacteria. The tongue is a particularly good breeding ground for little bugs. Just below the gum line, especially between the (a back) tooth and the gum live the really nasty bacteria, in a warm, moist and DARK incubator; and if you don't floss regularly, the odor from the bacteria in this area of your mouth will just about knock you over. As they live and grow, they manufacture chemicals known as oligosaccharides, a molecule that is BOTH a FAT and a SUGAR. These molecules make the bacteria VERY STICKY, so they adhere very well to the tooth. This is PLAQUE. After is has grown over the surface of the tooth at and below the gum line, it starts growning INTO your gum tissue, killing at it grows (RECEDING GUMS). This is one of the causes of GINGIVITIS, the other being the chemical assault launched upon it by the bacteria and the bodies response to fighting infection. For pictures, look on the web (Google), or visit your local library and search for books on "Dental Hygiene" or the work of a "Dental Hygenist". I've read parts of a book written for dental hygenists and saw the diagrams. It's enough to making FLOSSING EVERYDAY a top priority in your life. So next time you see someone lick a spoon that they are cooking food for you with just do what my momsie would do and GBOSA!! * * * *smack them upside the head. I mean how much more disgusting can you get? |

"Nigeria holds the World Record in Multiple Births: http://www.scienceinafrica.co.za/twins.htm http://www.twinsworld.com/stats.html "In fact, if access to state-of-the-art medicine were a deciding factor, then why does the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria have the highest twinning incidence in the entire world? These Nigerian people attribute it to their population's consumption of a specific type of yam. Yams? That's right, scientists have discovered that these colorful vegetables that are grown only in Africa contain a high level of a substance that is similar to the hormone estrogen -- which could bring on multiple ovulation.": http://www.pregnancy-place.com/WHY_ARE_TWI, YROCKETING.html and someone trying to cash in on it on Amazon.com: 2 TUBERS OF AFRICAN YAMS--FERTILITY ENHANCER!!!
