Poems For Review / Cuntribute by AmiableJay(m): 5:58am On Jul 15, 2015
One dusk, I strolled down the endless alleys
P'rchance to sooth this lust with a bite of cheese
The sky shimmered dimly with the Sun's last glow
Exhaust floated on high bringing in the long plough
When that dreaded deadlock hour takes its shift
As stallions of steel zoomed making their last drift
U-turn beckons as the busy lanes vies with my stroll
Inner voices chided my now reckless soul
Exhuming its fragile innocence-the heist of Eden
The flesh seeks most which opens Death's den
And its scythe strikes off from the cult of the living:
Copious liquor, cigar's fumes and all needless fussing.
~~~
When, then at the gates of hell I made my haul
The first host tempted best; and was worst of all
Danced a witless salsa like Jeptah's lone issue
Haughty she came with a new vanity to make tussle
Naughty and armed with little that whet lust
Dim wits, fallen tits but supple to conjure her deadly thrust
Was all she offered for me to cunTribute
To the city's whoring that conscience's voice mute
Which thirst razed with lust's embers the pale night
As Death deemed her tribute from who plow his site.
APC wins and PDP calls to congratulate them, PDP wins and APC alleges malpractice and wants cancellation!! This party is worse than I thought, it's evil will make PDP's look like child's play! Nigerians are in for it.
Are you blind to see that they wrote international observers , not your much-echoed APC obsession. Well, it's unfortunately that your mind have been conditioned that way. See the truth in its barest and rawest form and still deny it.
Poems For Review / Re: Homeless Not Hopeless - A Poem By Susrite by AmiableJay(m): 9:40pm On Nov 28, 2014
susrite:
As the day turns in
the firmament seizing the sun
the coolness of the moon coming
the earth quiet like a deserted lawn
.
the horizons flaunt their beauties
the stars, their streak
the nightingale called for duty
and silent hitting its peak
.
In the street corner
lies a child dazed from sleep
a poor soul feeling sober
a tender heart that often weep
.
trembling, feeling cold like a damp
with a sick body, frail and weak
under the moon's unbias lamp
a happy bed impossible to seek
.
for this little child
the street corner becomes home
to rest for the night
without a silk and soothing foam
.
In a little and short while
he will wake to scavenge
like a vulture walking a million mile
being hurt by the earth without revenge
.
from the gabbage can
full of litters and trash
yet he lives on the platform "I can"
I'll stay alive and someday earn cash
.
to all kid that live without shelter
that has no mild mother's hand to caress
the way you are today never matter
you are only homeless, not hopeless!
Oh men this is awesome and do..pe. I admire your diction and fine imagery. But your last stanza really ain't necessary. It makes the whole poem sound like a cheap lyrics. Try and refine it or probably remove it as part of the poem it can just be an epilogue or something to tell us that it's not a stanza on it's own. Once again, nice poem. Keep it up bro.
Education / Re: University Of Ibadan Churns Out 222 First Class Graduates. by AmiableJay(m): 4:56pm On Nov 28, 2014
Tinubu:
If it was Covenant or some private university that churned out so many first class graduates, some cokeheads will come here and start misyarning about how hopeless and ludicrous private unis are...
Now, it is UI, I am waiting for you all to come and tell me how the standard of education there has gone to the dogs angry
By the way
Congratulations to all the graduands jare, especially those who made first class....The sky isn't your limit, but your stepping stone !
They convocated two sets at a time: 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. So by a rough average we have 111 first class graduates per the two sessions. Even at that, you cannot compare lecturers in public universities with private ones in terms of standard, strictness as well as 'badbelleism' So provided you're a diligent student in a private university, graduating with first class is a walk over.
Nice sonnet bro. I wish I could write something like this. I consider sonnet a bit difficult to write though
It's very easy bro.. I do mine by writing a large piece and then doing a strong cutting.
