bee444: A visa is not permission to stay in the Country. His entry stamp will determine how long he is legally allowed to be in the Country ( max is 6months) unless an extension is granted. I don't see why he has to feel like a failure if he has to return home. It's not as if he will be dropping out of college! 1 Like 1 Share |

isysleek: Yes . If your visa is still valid you can travel to the United States with your two passports, as long as the visa is valid, not damaged, and is the appropriate type of visa required for your principal purpose of travel. (Example: tourist visa, when your principal purpose of travel is tourism). Both passports (the valid and the expired one with the visa) should be from the same country and type (Example: both Nigerian regular passports, both official passports, etc.). When you arrive at the U.S. port-of-entry (POE, generally an airport or land border) the Customs and Border Protection Immigration Officer will check your visa in the old passport and if s/he decides to admit you into the United States they will stamp your new passport with an admission stamp along with the annotation "VIOPP" (visa in other passport). 1 Like |

I don't think the exchange rate will look too favorable for you with 3kids in Europe. If everyone was coming back home it would be better financially. You may practically be working just to pay bills in Europe. It's a daunting task to maintain a family in Europe with legitimate funds from Naija. 1 Like |

This is actually a good development. Most Nigerians actually are harassed by these idiots escorting bullion vans. They go on illegal duties at wedding and funeral ceremonies. Now with this uniform we can know who is who. |

bee444: If he has accommodation until the end of the conference why is he looking for a place to stay? Is your friend not planning to return home? Why would he want to beg people for a place to stay when he could easily head back home after attending the art conference unless he has other plans. 128 Likes 7 Shares |

There are civil servants making less than 500,000 per annum living in that same Abuja with their families. Why should anyone give these clowns 20 million for accommodation? How many Nigerians will see that amount in their lifetime? If these people are not ready to making sacrifices during this trying period they should be fired. Ridiculous! |

bigfido:I think that must be the case because if the card was the issue I shouldn't be able to withdraw from an atm. I'll still go ahead and send an email to card services just incase they have a different opinion. I'll surely be stopping by Fiesta to try it out. Thanks for the information I appreciate. |

ijeomaobi1: Thanks for the information. My card is debit. I will go ahead and send an email to the email you provided and hope for a better outcome. The other annoying aspect is that the clowns are treating a transaction based on Naija time which practically adds an extra day to every transaction. It's really frustrating! |

MadameU: I called them twice and the representatives all said my card was provisioned to work properly. I have used the card for online transactions and for ATM withdrawals without any problems ( even though withdrawal was denied for anything above $120) but it just won't work at the POS terminal. At this point I'm not sure I want to face anymore embarrament. |

TheLeakyTribe: Thanks for the information but there was simply no option on the POS terminal in krogers to run the useless transaction as credit or debit. It just showed hit the continue button and then enter pin. Pin approved and the lady looked up at me and whispered the magic words...it won't let me process it. I had to pull out my card and leave because of the queue behind me.I simply can't be pulling out $120 everyday and paying $3 atm fee and #240 standbicibtc fee. It's sad that we have been reduced to this level. Was yours approved as credit in Walmart or Sams club? I may try those instead. |

Please, anyone successfully used standbicibtc atm chip enabled card in krogers or at any other store for money orders recently? I tried and was embarrassed. Even pulling out $140 from the atm was denied. I was only allowed to take out $120 even though the daily limit is $150. . I would appreciate any response because it's getting ridiculous. |

When a poor hungry man is ACCUSSED of stealing a phone or biscuit people don't argue on his behalf. They quickly condemn him or her and proceed to Lynch the individual. Here you have a politician clearly living above his means but nobody is getting the tire or fuel for Lynching. Instead some clowns are offering explanations as to why it may not be stolen funds and pointing fingers at other political thieves. Why do we now wonder why we as citizens are not taken seriously by government officials? Disgusting! 1 Like |

ucystan: 23pm On Apr 02 Good day people, I have gone through some of the pages in this thread and the previous one. Please I would appreciate some experienced counsels. My wife is currently in Dallas to give birth. She is 36 weeks. We couldn't secure PTA before she travelled. Now, we will love to use the form A to pay for her bills, but all the hospitals we've spoken to do not accept wire transfer (form A) for payment. Please I would really appreciate any advise on a Dallas hospital that will do form A. This is especially urgent as she is really advanced at 36 wks Meanwhile, someone gave us an OB package for JPS hospital in Dallas which requires us to processs temporary Tarrant county ID for her. Has anyone used this before? Does this translate to using the US govt funding? I really want to be sure so we dont get to speak long grammer in the future. Thanks for the good work here. It really is commendable. My statement was based off the bolded sections of the Ops comments above. Of course I know you can get a state ID based on your duration of stay but this was an ID obtainable for a specific reason. My comments were based on that context . It's always a good idea to get the background story. |

MiddyO: Your international passport is your ID in a foreign country together with your drivers license if accepted. So, for anyone to want to acquire a local ID he or she must be looking to enjoy a benefit. Let's not try to be cute with the facts . The question remains ; Why do you need the ID when your passport is available? |

UmerSajjad: Your wife is NOT entitled to ANY form of taxpayers funded program whatsoever period. You were granted visa based on the fact that you claimed you had enough funds to embark on this journey. So, did you lie at the embassy? Please, do the right thing. greeneophyte: Did you ask why she needed to be given a temporary County ID when she is simply a visitor? Somebody may be trying to pass your wife off as a resident to qualify for certain benefits reserved only for tax paying citizens and permanent residents. Better ask questions before you inadvertently enjoy a forbidden fruit. 3 Likes |

Able15: All you have to do is request that she close the account. You don't need to open an account to claim anyone on your taxes either. So,she didn't need to go through all that .
