Health / Re: Positive Outlook To Life As An HIV Positive Person. by andy511(m): 11:33pm On Jun 18, 2017
Rajahbite:
This is my first time of posting on this forum and I pray this get to as many people as possible.
Most folks dread the thought of testing positive to HIV but it shouldn't be so. That is why it is very necessary to get tested at least once in a month.
I developed the habit of getting tested monthly (though I can beat my chest and say with pride that I am not a promiscuous fellow). But recently I skipped a couple of months in my routine for no apparent reason. The last time I got a test was mid-march so I went for a test last week and the test result came out positive. To be certain it wasn't a mistake, I went to two other places and the results were adamantly positive.
Now some people may ask who who got me infected, but that is a none-issue as far as I'm concerned . I have even stopped asking myself how I got infected because it's been more than two years since the last time I had sexual intercourse . So it can't possibly have been sexually transmitted to me, most especially as the experts say the viral load is low which means I must have been recently infected, at most not more than five or six months.
I intend to utilize my status as an HIV+ person to reach out and help as many as I can. I am already posting on Facebook what I learn from counseling programs I attend on living with the virus.
The Doctors said they have to monitor my viral load and CD4 count for some time in order to determine the best treatment program for me. I know that if I stick to the treatment program and follow the Doctors advice diligently that I'll still live a healthy life.
I use this medium to beg of everyone reading this to go for an HIV test. Knowing your status is key to helping yourself. If you are negative, please maintain all necessary prevention techniques.... avoid unprotected sex/multiple partners , don't share needles/blades (if you can afford it, get your own hair clipper) but above all, get tested regularly.
If you find out that you are positive (like me) , please don't despair. There are several HIV/AIDS centres in most hospitals across the nation where you can access help in the form of counseling and medications and these are mostly free of charge.
HIV is not a death sentence, you can still live a meaningful and healthy life despite your status.
Spread the message and not the virus.

Education / Re: See The Categories Of Friends that Can Ruin Your Life by andy511(m): 11:09pm On Jun 18, 2017
godwinstringed1:
Friends are essential necessities we need. Purposes ranging from giving supports, motivational information and psychological services increase the quality advantages we derive in friendship.
It’s however important we note that most of your friends are your enemies. It’s even funny enough that your friend may not be conscious to underscore the fact that he is your enemy.
That is why I finally resigned that, the only way to revive your caution in friendship is to note the kind of person called “friend”, who you move with. These qualities noticed in any of your friends’ psychological products must be noted:

Gossip

If your friend gossips, he is insecure, tongue-twists facts and distort information. He wants to be accepted and recognized and doing so may just be the only way he can get the attention he want. Don’t worry about solving his problem. The only way you can truly save your head is to kick them out of your life, because they cannot be trusted.

Parasites

Parasitical friends are only in your life to suck you dry and feed off of you.
Being used can be helpful sometimes, but not with the parasitic. Their intentions are only for their self interest. Such people must you retract from.

Jealousies

These kind of friends appreciate your difficult times more than your periods of victory. They believe they deserve your moment of success and not you. Although you may try to make them your supporters and fans by letting them know they are a part of your success, such people only prefer to resent you for your humility and reasonableness. This type should be avoided at all cost for your safety.

Arrogant

Pride sometimes is a virtue. But being arrogant means you are full of yourself and believe you are better or superior to everyone around you. Hanging or staying around with someone who doesn’t treat you with respect but rather intimidates and belittles you can be poisonous to your personal values.

Camouflaging

These types of friends pretend. They only act as friends on comfortable terms. When you need their help they tend to depart and stay away. They can’t be trusted; rather, you have to recognize their fake life and create boundaries within such friendship.

6. *Demoting*

These friends demote or retrogress us in ramifications of life section. They drag you backwards to old habits. They believe in being static and want you to be the same person you were. This type may be hard to pinpoint, but they are people who have always being an integral part of your life and may seem difficult to ignore. But it will be better to make them aware and remind them how important success is to you. if they can’t live with it, they can walk out the door.

Judgemental

Virtually nothing is ever right to them. They find it very easy to condemn people’s actions or events frequently.. more than unnecessarily. When intentions are good and you try to make them understand your genuine motives, they wouldn’t listen. They are terrible communicators since they are not good listeners. Squashing their negative talk or avoiding their disdainful speech could be helpful to your progress.

In conclusion, friends are inevitable but, in everything, we need caution.

It’s Godwin again saying:
Stay blessed and have a great week ahead.
Winks!

As Nigerians celebrate Father’s day, several Nigerians have trooped out to register their discomfort and disappointment at the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

The reactions from Nigerians comes after the president, Muhammadu Buhari left the country for the United Kingdom on May 7, 2017 on medical grounds.

Nigerians in reaction to a Father’s day message sent on Twitter by Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna in the Senate encouraging Nigerians to pray for the president expressed their dissatisfaction in clear terms.

The Senator representing Kaduna North, Sen. Shehu Sani who has been an ardent critic of APC and its style of leadership, not withstanding that he is a member of the ruling party, has urged Nigerians to remember and pray for the father of the nation, President Muhammadu Buhari this fathers day.

He urged Nigerians to remember him in prayers. But most Nigerians didn't find it funny anyway and wondered why they should be praying for someone that maybe dead wherever he is. See the tweets below and people's reactions.

Politics / Re: Nnamdi Kanu Not A South East Leader Of Thought- Presidency by andy511(m): 11:03pm On Jun 18, 2017
barx:
The Presidency on Sunday explained why the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, was not part of the ongoing consultations with leaders of the South East.

The main reason for his absence is that he was not considered as a leader of thought in the South East region.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo last week started series of conversation meetings with leaders of thought, politicians, traditional rulers and the clergy over rising ethnic tensions in parts of the country.

The Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, on Sunday, said that the IPOB leader was not invited because the Presidency does not regard him as a leader of thought in the South East.

According to him, a window of possibility would be opened for Kanu to meet with the Federal Government for discussion should the need arise in the future.

He said: “Well, the thing is that we were looking for leaders of the people, leaders of thought and we do not see him as a leader of thought in the East.

“May be opportunity will come at one time or the other for him to be engaged.

“But so far, what we have done is to look at people who have influence in the communities, whether it is religious, whether it is traditional, whether it is political, social or governance. These are the people we brought in for discussion.” he added

He also said that the South leaders including Ohanaeze Ndigbo coming to see Osinbajo have neither asked for a referendum on Biafra or secession, saying that they have only complained about marginalization in appointments and harassment by police at road blocks.

The Special Adviser assured that their concerns are issues that could easily be addressed.

He said “Nobody has tabled that in all the discussions we have had. Nobody, I can tell you. Ohanaeze came with a prepared document. They never talked about referendum. They never. They never even talked about secession.

“They made complaints about police harassment at road blocks. They made complaints about losing some key positions, not being appointed into security positions and all those kinds of things.

“And these are things that can easily be addressed. Nobody canvassed secession at those meetings, nobody canvassed referendum.”

Ojudu noted that the South East leaders that have met with the Acting President were all in support of one united, peaceful Nigeria.

He said the federal government would tackle the perceived injustice in parts of the country through equitable distribution of resources and employment creation.

He added: “So, for us, and that was the conclusion that everybody came to in the consultations we have had that we should all agree that we can live together peacefully. “

“We should address injustice where we find it and the government should be equitable in the distribution of resources across the country and then, find solution to youth unemployment and the frustration that is confronting most of the young people across this country,” he stated.

Romance / Re: Pains Of A V-taper Shape Guy by andy511(m): 10:57pm On Jun 18, 2017
SirMichael1:
A V-taper shape is a visible wider shoulder to waist ratio. Not like those cartoonish beasts like Mr. Incredible and the rest, like those perfect types.

1. Most cloths don’t fit perfectly.

Due to the dis-proportionality in shoulder to waist ratio, when you go to a semester/seamstress to make yourself a cloth, after he/she makes them, you don’t always like them because you’ll always look like a baby lizard trying his new Christmas on (OMG! Where did you even get that?! Do lizards even wear clothes?) Native attires are a no! T-shirts are a no! (well except you mend them)! Suits too, a no! When tell the tailor to sew a slim fitting shirt, it’s either passes your shoulder and look bogus on your waist or it doesn’t even pass at all (that’s if he measures your waist or even your stomach). But when you finally get a good outfit, it looks greats on you. Polos are great by the way.

2. You turn heads.

Since your chest is already out due to the fact that you work-out, everyone thinks you have an overwhelming confidence so while you walk in the street or in the midst of crowds, head turns, eyes looks, mouths twitches, fingers points all at you like OMG! Who’s that guy, I wanna have him for dinner. (Not exactly though). You get smiles, unwanted attentions especially from ladies and when you’re blessed with a cute… what can I say, “You’ve killed them”

3. Ladies find it difficult it difficult to believe we don’t have many girlfriends.

I was walking with a girl I had just met, we got talking and along the line she just dropped one line (Wait! Hope you guys are feeling my rhymes right? Lol), she said and I quote “…I know you must have like what, 7-10 girlfriends cause with a body like that…” (She had earlier checked through my photos), I just smiled and said to myself, “oh, if only you knew”.

4. People flock and want to ask you a question or take a photo while at the gym.

You’re at the gym wanting to get some ‘me’ time with you and your body, that’s when you hear someone greets you and start asking annoying questions about how to go on their routines and what not, before you know it you’re surrounded by folks (ladies and guys) asking mundane questions or asking to get a photo (talk about a momentary celebrity) and when you’re done answering them, you check the time and you’re like “Aaaargh! My time is gone”. This is the sole reason I stopped taking my shirt off at the gym.

5. You make certain guys insecure.

The moment you take off your shirt, you see guys covering their girl’s face with their palm all in a bid to avert/avoid the lady’s eyes from trailing your body. Most times I really wonder why they can’t trust their girlfriends even with them by their sides.

6. Some guys find a way to irk you just to test how strong you are.

While I was still in secondary school, there’s this particular guy, he always asks me for a fight, does things to provoke me, says he just wanna test and know how strong I am (You can imagine the rate of thought of some persons). He never go a chance though and some guys try as much as anything to get into a duel with you so they leave most times when they notice you’re starting to get pissed.

To top it up, y’all should chill men, we ain’t some god roaming amongst y’all. It’s pretty much what everyone can become if only they’ll remain focused and determined.

Please do not quote everything o

Romance / Re: Your Take On Girls: A Friend Or Fiend by andy511(m): 10:51pm On Jun 18, 2017
redbeans:
It is often said that girls are people we can't live with, but can't also live without. Some guys see them as a sweet eel while others like a sour meal.

Some are like friends that help rise you up, don't overburden you and improves your lifestyle. Rukkydelta is one of such (not asslicking o). From her comments you can tell she is indepedent, moral and diligent. In hostel then, I observed some love birds who were just out for love. You see them motivating each other educationally, helping each other financially. Sex was a bonding device and not a negotiating tool.

Some are like fiends. They drain you emotionally. I observed one guy pursuing a girl with belt; probably he has been pushed to the limit. Another girl fled with her fiance hard-earned money which he opened a joint account for. Is love not enough? Or we need to complement it with funds.

Before the attack, I'm not consoling my broke ass o. I just wanna make common sense cheesy
