A team of scientists at the University of Washing have developed a method to predict the entire genetic code of a fetus just by taking a small blood sample from the mother and saliva from the father. They believe that the test will be able to screen for 3,500 genetic disorders, allowing expecting parents to know their babies future appearance, size, health and even future diseases such as Alzheimer’s. The media has exploded with stories about the allegations of child abuse against Prosperity Gospel Pastor Creflo Dollar. Dollar was arrested after his 15-year-old daughter called the police alleging that he hit and choked her after a late night dispute in which the young girl wanted to go to a party and Dollar denied her request. While it may be convenient to jump on Dollar with absolute certainty that he is guilty of all allegations, we urge caution. It is important to not rush to judgment until the facts of the case have been brought to light. Pastor Dollar is entitled to due process under the law as any other person is and to his credit, Dollar stood before his church, specifically addressed the allegations against him and denied them. However, what is factual is that Dollar is a part of a long line of Prosperity Gospel preachers who take scriptures out of context to make a false doctrine that says that all Christians are entitled to immense wealth, mansions and all sorts of fame because of their faith in God and tithing.
