Obiano @66: Why Anambra will Remember him.

At 66 today, Governor Willie Maduaburochukwu Obiano is a fulfilled man. He has made success of nearly every challenge he has taken on. He graduated from the University of Lagos with a Second Class Upper Division honours in Accountancy. He had a remarkable career in banking which ended as an Executive Director. And finally, in seven months time, he will bow out as the most outstanding governor in the history of Anambra State, so far!

Folks who are familiar with Obiano would remember that he had always had a keen sense of community. Wherever he went; Willie Obiano moved with a firm belief in the intrinsic goodness of man. He does not waste time to make himself comfortable in any environment; reaching out to people with respect and honour and earning same in equal measure. Long before he made a name in banking, Obiano had established himself as a very illustrious son of Aguleri who had a deep concern for the welfare and progress of his community. Back then, he was an embodiment of the essence of Aguleri; gregarious, friendly, caring, but firm. Among his banking colleagues and well-heeled friends in Lagos, Willie Obiano never left anyone in doubt about his love of his rich culture and proud heritage. In fact, folks with good memory would recall that it wasn’t out of character to see him at major occasions with a flutist. Yes, the flutes sang his name and gave his arrival at events a flourish! What a man!

Obiano began early to show that people are important to him in a dramatic way. He built the prestigious Gech Auditorium in his hometown and threw its doors open as a veritable venue for weddings, fundraisers and other cultural events at little or no cost. He always donated relief materials and palliatives whenever ravaging floods wrecked havoc on his riverine kinfolks. In appreciation, he was inducted into the royal cabinet of Aguleri kingdom and given the title of ‘Akpokuedike.’ A name reserved for warriors. This recognition gave him the encouragement to contribute more of his time and resources to the service of his people.

As a banking executive, Obiano exuded an irresistible aura. He was affable, debonair and brilliant. A magnetic field, he drew quality people to himself. His friendship cut across banking, the armed forces, the clergy, the academia and the traditional institution. He is a nice bloke; humorous, fun to be with, the dude everyone wants in their team. The only difference is that even in the midst of fun and games, Willie Obiano always carries himself with a sense of mission. He never loses sight of the importance of meaningful friendship. He has a special gift of knowing what each friend could offer him at any given time. If Obiano took interest in you, chances are that he has seen something remarkable which in some cases may not be easily understandable to you. There’s always a silent purpose to his friendship.

Incidentally, his eclectic approach to friendship often comes handy in the fullness of time; his friends become trusted allies, aides and close buddies. They form a ribbon of excellence around him. They create pools of exceptionality around him. They put a seal of greatness on his simple acts. This is leadership in simpler terms…the ability to influence and guide people to a given destination or purpose. Obiano has excelled in this.

He has also excelled in his interpretation of his place in history; his response to the dominant issues of his time. When he was barely a year in office, a pack of hardened Boko Haram terrorists were sent to the prison at Ekwulobia. Panic ripped through Anambra like a shockwave. Everyone wondered why the authorities should choose to export terrorists to Anambra State. But Obiano worked in silence and before long the genie was out the bottle. The terror convicts drifted away at night like smoke; just the same way they had come.

Ozoemezina, the Biafran memorial, which he organized in his tenth month in office has become a watershed in Igbo memory. Ndigbo have a long memory. Ozoemezina is eternal. But that’s not all. Obiano also touched his people in other silent regions that count. He restored the Anambra pride. He aroused the quest for exploits among them. And they responded in a manner that is memorable. Students and teachers won historic laurels. Industrialists and entrepreneurs suddenly felt proud in their roots enough to invest at home. The Anambra landscape bears testimony to this. He donated his salaries to charity and set up a home for people with mental illnesses. Obiano’s touch is soft on people. He will be remembered.

Yes. Obiano will be remembered on the strength of his legacies and his efforts to bend history in his favour. They will remember Obiano when they see and feel his impact. When they sit in the monstrous auditorium of the Awka International Conference Center, they will remember him. When they watch the ball roll gloriously into the net at the Awka City Stadium, they will remember him. When the flowers flush with green life on the spectacular flyovers, they will remember him. And when their private jets touchdown at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, they will clink glasses to his name.

In truth, Governor Willie Maduaburochukwu Obiano has been a huge blessing to Anambra State!

Appeal Court Reaffirms Oye National Chairman, Soludo APGA Candidate, Seeks Sanctions Against Abuse Of Court Process

The Court of Appeal, Awka Division, headed by Hon Justice C Nwosu-Iheme has dismissed with heavy costs, the applications filed by Chief Edozie Njoku, Jude Okeke and Hon Wilson Onyekwelu.

While ruling on the applications earlier yesterday, the court noted that the applications filed by the applicants were grossly incompetent and dismissed them with heavy costs in favour of the Chief Victor Oye led APGA.

The Presiding Justice particularly frowned at the manner various frivolous suits were instituted in respect of Anambra State Governorship primary election of APGA in various States outside Anambra, despite the admonitions of the Supreme Court on territorial jurisdictions of State High court.

Justice Nwosu Iheme, who was livid with anger, called for severe and immediate disciplinary measures against the Judges and Counsels involved in the spurious judgments obtained in High Courts in Jigawa State, Imo State and the Federal Capital Tertiary, FCT, for bringing the image of the judiciary to disrepute and public ridicule.

Recall that Justice C.C. Okaa had delivered an emphatic judgment reaffirming Dr. Oye as the National Chairman, and Professor Chukwuma Soludo, as the undisputable governorship candidate of APGA, with motions filed by the appellants challenging the judgment dismissed.

Honourable Chukwuma Umeoji had paid for nomination forms and also went for screening at the Dr. Oye led National Executive, as the only legally sanctioned and INEC recognized officers of APGA, and when he was disqualified with four others, he appointed one Jude Okeke, who is unknown to APGA, as his own new National Chairman, who joined in shopping for Courts and Judges to give them frivolous court orders, such as ones obtained in Jigawa, Imo States and the FCT.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday said it will comply with court orders on the Anambra governorship elections as stipulated in Section 287 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic.

Two High Courts in Anambra have directed the commission to publish the names of Senator Ugochukwu Uba of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Prof Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).for the November 6 election without further delay.


In their separate judgments on Monday in Awka, Justice Obiora Nwabunike, who presided over the case involving Uba, Valentine Ozigbo and the PDP, said the party erred by using what is called ‘Super delegates’ without vacating the Abuja Court order.

Speaking with DAILY INDEPENDENT, Festus Okoye, Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee of INEC however said the commission will not take decisions based on newspaper reports unless it has received the certified true copies of the court orders.

He said, “We don’t base our decisions in the commission on newspaper reports or unverified news sources. Our decisions are based on certified true copies of order or judgments”.

“So, when we are served with the certified true copies of the judgments, then we will look at it based on what informed our previous decisions and then we look at the court orders and see what specifically the court wants us to do. But we are not a court of law”.


“Under Section 287 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, we have an obligation to give effect to and comply with the decisions of courts of competent jurisdiction”.

“But we won’t take any action or take any decision until we have been served with a certified true copy of the court order. When that is done, we will follow our processes and procedures and then we will make the public of our decision” he said.

The All Progressives Grand alliance, APGA, has hailed the order of a High Awka Court, directing the Independent National Commission, INEC, to restore its candidate, Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the candidate of the party for the November 6 governorship election in Anambra state.

National chairman of APGA, Dr. Victor Oye, who spoke with journalists in an interview in Abuja, shortly after the court judgment said the judiciary in the country, has done well, especially by nipping in bud the activities of these impostors.

According to Dr. Oye, “I believe in the independence of the Judiciary and I believe that Judiciary in Nigeria has done very well despite a few disenchantments.

“I don’t want to be dragged into unnecessary controversy. I think what happened today in Awka shows the independence of the Judiciary and that it is the last hope of the common man. Imagine what would have happened if there are no Judiciary. They would have been chaos and anarchy.

Oye equally said that no matter how imperfect the Judiciary may be, it is indispensable in a democracy.

“I feel happy that the court in Awka has done justice to this matter by ordering the reinstatement of Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo as the Governorship candidate of APGA for the November 6 Anambra Governorship election.

“INEC should immediately reinstate Prof. Soludo as the APGA’s candidate for Anambra Governorship election without delay.

“I have never had any doubt about the candidacy of Soludo because the Chukwuma Umeoji and his co-impostors have no place in law to claim anything in APGA. Did they conduct any genuine congress or primary?

“I feel it was a gross injustice for INEC to have declared him candidate of APGA. This is evil and an invitation to chaos,’ he said.

Oye said that reason there was protest and chaos in Anambra State over INEC’s decision was because the leadership of APGA had appealed for calm.

“I am repeating my call on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that those impostors that attempted to impersonate the leadership of APGA are punished. That is the only way to restore confidence in the management of the electoral system”

INEC SHOULD NOT ALLOW DESPERATE POLITICIANS DRAG HER ESTEEMED IMPARTIAL NEUTRAL CREDIBLE AND UNPREJUDICED ELECTORAL UMPIRE TO THE MUD.

Nigerians and APGA members trust and believe in the integrity and credibility of INEC as an unbiased umpire that will uphold and apply the provisions of the Nigerian constitution and that of the electoral act with sincerity. But it is unfortunate that some desperate politicians move around the all parts of the country gambling court orders from every available court , and even the ones that may not have jurisdiction just to embarrass INEC, Ndi Anambra and Nigerians.

In the current matter it’s only intended to cause confusion for APGA faithful’s and to create misunderstanding in political atmosphere despite the existing insecurity ravaging the country, just because someone feels it must be him or no other for the office of the governor of Anambra State. This is an act of desperation which is not healthy for Anambra State because APGA is a peaceful party and has been moving the State to an enviable position throughout the country.

How could someone go to Jigawa to obtain a court order for Anambra election, what is wrong with Anambra judiciary if actually has a genuine claim or means well for ndi Anambra, this leaves much to be answered. Though the court order or judgement will be vacated effortlessly with so many laid down precedents. I don’t want to blame INEC totally for taking such step in announcing who they did on the 16th July because of it’s court order or judgement but my worry is the delay in announcing the name of Soludo which was submitted earlier on the 2nd day of July and according to the provision of the electoral act, the name of the candidate so submitted was supposed to be announced within 7days. But INEC did not announce the name of Soludo but kept waiting till 16 July.

What was INEC waiting for? It appears to have deliberately waited to get this court order .

By that singular act, INEC appears culpable. It is laughable that the same INEC commissioner who announced on Channels TV that their records has only Sir Victor Ike Oye as the only recognized national Chairman of APGA and that Soludo’s name has been enlisted, went around and began to contradict his earlier depositions, he appears to speaking from two sides of his mouth and I am convinced that he didn’t do proper consultations before that outrageous outbursts on the 16th July.

The important thing is that the court order or judgement will be thrown out effortlessly because there is no legal bearing for the claim so made.

The said Jude Okeke is not a member of APGA and therefore does not have locus standi to produce any gubernatorial candidate. My question is CAN A VULTURE GIVE BIRTH TO AN EAGLE ? all these will definitely end in a terrible a fiasco.

I therefore urge all APGA faithfuls and Ndi Anambra in general to ignore all these their television shows and false propaganda and keep on preparing for the gubernatorial election knowing that your APGA candidate (Soludo) will run for the gubernatorial election of November 6 and will definitely win all the wards in the 21 local governments in Anambra State.

Their distraction’s will not work. God has already programed the successor of Dr Willie Obiano in the person of Prof. Charles Soludo to move Anambra State further to an enviable level.

Anambra guber: no factions in APGA, says INEC
...We didn't disqualify party from Nov election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said there are no factions in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), implying that it has recognized the primary election that produced the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Charles Chukwuma Soludo as a candidate.

The Commission also dismissed reports that it disqualified the party from participating in the November 6 Anambra State governorship election.

The Chief Jude Okeke-led National Working Committee of the party suspended Soludo.

But the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, in a telephone chat with The Nation, clarified that “the Commission does not have any position on APGA. As far as INEC is concerned, there are no factions in APGA. The Commission deals with only one National Chairman and one Secretary of the party. Their details are on the INEC website.

“Secondly, the Commission did not and has not said that APGA will not participate in the Anambra Governorship election.”

Our attention has been been drawn to a publication on the social media credited to one notorious hatchet-writer, Deji Adeyanju, in which he referred to our great party as a "Biafran party".

Our worry does not only stem from the fact that our party - the third largest political party in Nigeria - was robed in an ethnocentric gab, it also underscores the wicked design of the writer and his pseudo-sponsors to impugn our party and its leadership and cause disaffection between us and the unsuspecting public.

We are not usually given to responding to such lousy and malicious publications, knowing full well that they contain no substance or verifiable facts.

However, in this circumstance, we have been compelled to do so because of the evil plots of the author of the said story and his sponsors.

We are not also unmindful of the fact that there is a current plan by the opposition to sponsor tendencious and false publications against our party and some of its leading stakeholders as we march toward the Anambra State Governorship Election scheduled for November 6, 2021.

We wish to state unequivocally that our party has won elections across geopolitical zones, including the FCT, since it was founded 19 years ago and therefore does not deserve to be tagged a regional party.

Let it be made clear that we will not hesitate to seek legal redress against agents of destabilisation and blackmail whose stock-in-trade is to cause confusion and malign innocent people.

We reassure our teeming supporters that APGA would not be distracted by the shenanigans of paid agents and hagiographers whose mission to destabilize our party was dead on arrival.

APGA remains the choice party for Ndi Anambra State having diligently delivered on its manifesto and electoral promises since it came to power in the state in 2006.

The attention of our great party has been drawn to the above captioned campaign of calumny and invectives targeted at the exalted office of the National Chairman of our Party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The smear campaign written and shared across various online platforms by a faceless group under the aegis of “APGA Eminent Group:” appears to be the latest in a series of clearly distorted attacks against APGA by one Chief Edozie Njoku, who albeit ludicrously has been laying claim to the coveted office of the National Chairman of APGA. Justly recently, Chief Edozie Njoku was granted a cameo appearance on “AIT” and in his usual style made a barrage of mischievous claim ostensibly in a bid to accentuate his laughable claim to the exalted position of the National Chairman of APGA.

One would have been tempted to ignore his series of vitriolic attacks on the party which are just but the antics of a drowning man and a notorious goon who is merely looking to hoodwink unsuspecting party members to part with their hard-earned money in a bid to sustain his inordinate lifestyle. However, we owe it a duty, as a responsible and responsive political party, to clear the air on some of his mischievous claims nay distortion of salient facts so as not to keep our party faithful and members disillusioned on the actual state of affairs as regards the leadership of our great party. This we shall do hereunder with a view to brevity and clarity without losing sight of the required comprehensiveness.

One of the most ridiculous positions nay assertion of Chief Edozie Njoku is that of being a foundation member of APGA. The leadership of APGA has maintained a consistent position that Chief Edozie Njoku, not being a member of APGA, cannot claim any right, benefit or position in APGA. It may be quite apposite to remind Chief Njoku and his faceless hirelings that the constitution of APGA does not guarantee or enthrone perpetual membership. It is notorious fact that Chief Njoku who can be likened to a political “abiku” has been in and out of the party in a number of occasions; few illustrations/examples will suffice at this juncture. Shortly after he lost the Onitsha North & South Federal Constituency election in 2003, Chief Edozie Njoku left APGA where he was then registered in a ward in Onitsha North. He returned sometime in 2007 to spearhead the ill-fated gubernatorial quest of an aspirant. When the ambition of his then principal failed, he left alongside the aspirant to the ANPP. Edozie Njoku thereafter joined the PDP during the administration of Fmr. President Goodluck Jonathan. His last sojourn in APGA was during the ill-fated quest of Chief Stanley Amuchie for the gubernatorial ticket of our great party in Imo State.

It is a known fact and as decided by various courts that it is only a political party that knows and determines who its members are. Thus the claim of being a foundation member of APGA by Chief Edozie Njoku stands logic on its head. Several foundation members of APGA have left the party to seek political fortunes elsewhere. Indeed, no less a person than the pioneer National Chairman of APGA has left the party. What makes Chief Njoku’s case different?

Apparently, the most intriguing albeit ludicrous allegation of Chief Edozie Njoku appears to be the claim that he emerged as the National Chairman in a social gathering of his kinsmen somewhere in Owerri. Several questions beg the answer by that singular mischievous claim.
Which organ of the party approved the holding of a National Convention in Owerri?

When was such a decision reached by APGA? Who appointed members of the Convention Planning Committee? Did INEC approve of and monitor the purported convention in the discharge of its statutory role as enshrined in Section 85 of the Electoral Act?

The answers to the above questions will readily reveal the hollowness of Chief Njoku’s claim. Even more preposterous is Chief Edozie Njoku’s assertion on live TV that the Board of Trustees of APGA approved of the holding of a National Convention in Owerri. It is not in doubt that the chairman of the Board of Trustees of APGA is His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, the Executive Governor of Anambra State while Alhaji Sani Shinkafi is the Secretary of APGA BOT. The above mentioned key/principal officers of the Board of Trustees never convened any meeting nor gave any purported approval for the holding of the National Convention in Owerri. Thus, the claim by Chief Njoku is nothing but a mere ruse.

Furthermore, and to underscore the emptiness of Chief Njoku’s assertions, it is salient to review relevant provisions of the constitution of APGA with respect to the convening of a National Convention. In that regard, Article 13(1) grants the National Chairman the powers to summon and preside over the National Convention of the party while Article 11(1) stipulates the composition of the National Convention. It is an undeniable fact that as at the 31st of May, 2019 when the purported National Convention being claimed by Chief Njoku was allegedly held, Ozonkpu (Dr) Victor Oye remained the National Chairman and was still serving his first tenure in office. If at all anyone ought to summon and preside over the National Convention of APGA, then it must be Ozonkpu (Dr) Victor Oye, pursuant to Article 13(1) of APGA Constitution. The only logical conclusion deducible from the puerile allegations of Chief Edozie Njoku is that he remains an alien to the affairs of APGA who has no business whatsoever with the affairs of APGA.

Apparently more worrying and ostensibly bemusing is the allusion to various court judgments/orders by Chief Edozie Njoku as being the basis for his audacious claim. Interestingly, it is his warped understanding of the purport and intendment of the said decisions of court that has seen him embark on such daunting nonetheless fruitless misadventure. First is the exparte order and subsequently, the default judgment of the Delta State High Court, Kwale Judicial Division in Suit No. HCK/40/2019: High Chief Ogonetus Okponetus & ors vs All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) & anor. The court in an exparte order made on the 23rd of May, 2019 restrained the National Executive Committee of APGA from implementing the decisions reached at NEC meeting of APGA held on 14/5/2019. Part of the decisions reached at the NEC meeting was the holding of the National Convention on 31/5/2019. It must be emphasized that His Lordship, Hon Justice V. I. Ofesi (Rtd) while making the order clearly stated that the order shall be contingent upon serving same on the defendants in the suit and shall lapse after service 7 days of service. Incidentally, the said order was only served on the party on the 3rd day of June, 2019 after the National Convention had been duly conducted and concluded. Moreso, aside the decision of the NEC at the said meeting.

More so, the Oyo State High Court, Ibadan Judicial Division in Suit No. I/512/2019: Deacon Segun Sampson Olalere vs All Progressives Grand Alliance & anor had on the 28th day of May, 2019 delivered a final judgment wherein the court mandated APGA to conduct its National Convention on or before the 4th of June, 2019. It was thus in compliance with the said final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction that the National Convention of 31/5/2019 was held at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka. Three interesting issues readily arise from a proper appreciation of the above stated judgments of courts. First is the fact that Chief Edozie Njoku was not a party to the aforementioned suits and thus cannot claim any benefit therefrom. Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Oye was the 2nd defendant in Suit No. I/512/2019 with APGA as the 1st defendant while APGA was the 1st defendant in Suit No HCK/40/2019. Thus, the orders of the court in Suit No. I/512/2019 were directed at APGA and Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Oye as the defendants in Suit No I/512/20190. The said orders were duly and/or substantially complied with by both APGA and its National Chairman, Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye. Secondly and more intriguing is the fact that the judgment in Suit No I/512/2019 was delivered on the 28th day of May, 2019. It is the said judgment that Chief Edozie Njoku and his hirelings claimed to have obeyed when they purportedly conducted congresses on 2nd, 3rd and 6th of May, 2019. It is the height of stupidity and sheer effrontery for one to boldly assert that he was complying with a judgment that was yet to be delivered save Chief Njoku has assumed an omniscient toga!

Thirdly, the exparte order and the subsequent default judgment in Suit No HCK/40/2019 popularly flaunted by Chief Njoku as discrediting the National Convention of APGA held in Awka has all since been vacated. As stated earlier, the exparte order was apparently a non-starter since it was ab initio predicated on service upon the defendants.

Unfortunately, APGA was only served with the order of court on the 3rd of June, 2019 after it had duly conducted its National Convention. The Honourable court in a subsequent Ruling delivered on the 23rd of April, 2020 set aside the default judgment it entered against APGA in Suit No HCK/40/2019. The court while delivering the ruling clearly acknowledged that, “…As at the time, the case was held and judgment given, the 1st defendant(APGA) was within the time allowed by the Rules to file their statement of defence and all other accompanying processes. From the facts on record as presented by the Applicant, they were not in default, it will be unfair to shut the door against them as such action cannot be justified. Their right of fair hearing would have been breached. This court having realized that it was misled to giving the judgment in question is left with no option than to set same aside. Consequently, the judgment of this court given on the 4/7/2019 be set aside and it is hereby set aside including all the orders made thereto”. It is thus crystal clear that Chief Njoku and his hirelings are merely out to deceive gullible minds and unsuspecting members of the public. Nothing can be farther from the truth.

Chief Edozie Njoku further made reference to Suit No. FCT/HC/CV/2086/2019 instituted and subsequently withdrawn by the National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye as another basis for his mischievous claim. It must be stated that the said suit was instituted by Ozonkpu Dr Victor Oye to stop Chief Edozie Njoku from deceiving and swindling unsuspecting members of APGA, notable among them, some of the gubernatorial aspirants of the party in Imo State. This suit was however withdrawn by the National Chairman on the intervention of some senior party officials and stakeholders who felt that Chief Njoku was not worth the attention. Pray, how does the withdrawal of a suit by a party before hearing accord Chief Njoku the office of the National Chairman of APGA? Perhaps, it may be imperative to educate Chief Njoku and his faceless groups that under the law, a party who institutes an action is at liberty to discontinue the action at any time before hearing commences. In such circumstances, parties are deemed not to have reached “litis contestatio”. Thus, the discontinuance of such action and its subsequent striking out is not a decision on the merits and does not, ipso facto, determine the rights of the parties thereto. Unarguably, the striking out of FCT/HC/CV/2086/2019 by His Lordship, Hon Justice O. C. Agbaza of the FCT High court did not determine the rights of the parties in the said suit.

Again, the claim by Chief Njoku that there is not yet any judicial pronouncement on the leadership of APGA by a court of competent jurisdiction is a barefaced lie! As at date, there has been several actions instituted by Chief Njoku through his numerous cronies and proxies where the court has made pronouncements on the leadership issues in APGA. A few of them will clearly suffice at this juncture. In Suit No FCT/HC/CV/1948/2019: Nze Kennedy Anunobi & Ors vs All Progressives Grand Alliance & Ors, the FCT High Court while dismissing the suit in its judgment upheld outcome of the National Convention of APGA held in Awka. In Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/557/2019: Smart Iheoma & Ors vs All Progressives Grand Alliance & Ors, the Federal High Court, Abuja Division in a ruling delivered on 1/6/2020 struck out the action challenging the National Convention of APGA held in Awka on 31/5/2019. Equally, the Delta State High court in Suit No. HOR/MISC/6/2019 dismissed an incompetent application for Judicial Review brought against the National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye. Just recently and in a landmark judgment, the Anambra State High court upheld the National Convention of APGA held on the 31st of May, 2019 at the Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka as well as the various congresses conducted from the wards, Local Governments and states prior to the said National Convention. The said judgment consequently lays to a final rest the contentions of Chief Njoku on the illegality or otherwise of the National Convention that produced the current National Executive officers of APGA led by Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye. The irresistible and unassailable conclusion from the above stated judgments of superior courts of record is that Ozonkpu Dr Victor Oye is the substantive and authentic National Chairman of APGA.

If Chief Edozie Njoku feels strongly compelled that he has a strong case to make, why did he embark on a fruitless judicial sojourn to Bauchi state in Suit No. FHC/BAU/CS/10/2020 when the purported National Convention he is seeking to enforce was allegedly held in Owerri? What happened to the Federal High court, Owerri Division that obviously possesses the requisite territorial jurisdiction? Why Did Chief Njoku fail to join Ozonkpu Dr Victor Oye as a party to the said suit when by his admission, Dr Oye is the recognized National Chairman of APGA by INEC? A whole lot of salient questions remain unanswered in Chief Njoku’s failed judicial heist against the leadership of APGA.

Undeniably, Chief Njoku’s persistent and consistent diatribes on the leadership of the party as well as the grand deceits and distortion of facts is simply to pave way for him to swindle aspirants on the platform of APGA in the forthcoming Anambra Governorship elections. Otherwise, how does one explain the sudden macabre dance by Chief Edozie Njoku on National TV as well as various online fora. Just recently and in a clearly orchestrated scheme by the opposition political parties in Anambra State using Chief Njoku as their front, he released a Timetable/Schedule of Activities for the conduct of a factional primary election in APGA in Anambra State. Pray, did Chief Njoku suddenly realize that he is the National Chairman of APGA? Did Chief Njoku attempt to nominate a candidate in his own Imo State during the Imo North Senatorial Bye election? Did Chief Edozie Njoku nominate any candidate for the Edo Governorship election held last year? Did Chief Njoku nominate any candidate for the just concluded House of Representatives Bye election for Magama/Rijau Federal constituency won by APGA? What then is he looking for in Anambra State.

We have taken the pains of this lengthy discourse to educate nay enlighten the members of APGA and indeed the discerning public on the futility of Chief Njoku’s unwarranted claims and barrage of attacks on the National Chairman of APGA. Chief Edozie Njoku is strongly advised to expend the energy he is needlessly dissipating in pursuing the Application for Judicial Review he instituted to a logical conclusion and let APGA be. If he feels strongly compelled, he can apply through any ward of his choice and just maybe, he might be readmitted into the fold of APGA. For now, he remains a persona non grata in the affairs of APGA.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) today conducted the freest and most credible primary election for the INEC scheduled by-election for Imo North Senatorial District slated for October 31st 2020.

The rancour free APGA Imo North Senatorial primary election was monitored by INEC officials, namely Francisca Ball (INEC Headquarters Abuja), Phina Ifi Duru (INEC Imo state) and Oji Emeka. S ( INEC Imo State) and other security agencies.

Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba, emerged winner of the APGA primary with 100% affirmation from the delegates drawn from the six local government areas that made up the Imo North Senatorial Zone, having earlier become the only duly screened and qualified aspirant for the contest in APGA.

Kudos to the electoral committee Panel led by Hon Cater Nnamdi Dike Umeoduagu, chairman, Barr Ifeanyi Mbaeri, Secretary, Hon Mrs Dame Aniete Udom, Hon Dame Chinyere Mbakwe and Hon Nnanna Nzewi.

Many thanks to the observers from Anambra state House of Assembly, namely: Hon Chukwuma Okoye (Nwanayoeze) and Hon John Nwokoye (Onowu Achalla); others are Hon Onyebuchi Okpala, Sa on security to Governor Willie Obiano, Tony Ngonadi, Ben Akam, Uche Egbogu.

This is in deed another confirmation that Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye led APGA is truly the most organized and transparent political party in Nigeria.

The national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye, has eulogized HE, Chief Dr Willie Obiano, the Executive Governor of Anambra state who also is the national leader of APGA for the gifting brand new Sports Utility Vehicles made by an Anambra indigenous vehicle manufacturer, INNOSON to all the kings ( Ndi Igwes) in Anambra state today at Ekwueme square.

APGA Boss described the gift as culturally elevating and administratively edifying.

Ozonkpu Oye in his speech at the well attended function that had all Igwes, government functionaries, town Union executives, legislative arm of government, members of the clergy, APGA party stalwarts and dignitaries of repute from Anambra state extolled the good works of Governor Willie Obiano in Anambra state.

APGA national chairman, also listed the ongoing construction of International Cargo Airport and the over 10,000 seaters International Conference Center, as well payment of salaries to civil servants as and when due, all round security in Anambra and now the Innoson’s Ikenga vehicles to the ndi Igwe of the 189 communities in Anambra state as some evidences of good governance from the state’s helmsman.

Ozonkpu Oye appreciated all Ndi Igwes of Anambra led by Igwe Alfred Achebe ( Obi of Onitsha) and implore them to continue to work harmoniously with Governor Willie Obiano for more democracy dividends to Ndi Anambra.

He appreciated all APGA faithful, even as he urged them to remain resolute in support of Gov Willie Obiano led APGA government in Anambra state.
