Jobs/Vacancies / Ghana Immigration Service Recruitment 2020/2021 - Application & Guidelines by article3030: 1:00pm On Mar 07, 2020
Ghana Immigration Service Recruitment

The Ghana Immigration Service started as the Immigration and Passport Unit of the Gold Coast Colonial Police Force under the command of Mr. Nevile C. Hill. On attainment of independence in 1957, the rapid expansion of the economy coupled with Ghana’s role as a trailblazer in the African liberation struggle led to the country being swamped with foreign businessmen, tourists and African aliens. To control this influx, a Cabinet decision in 1960 transferred the Immigration Unit to the Ministry of the Interior as a separate department, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took over the issuing of passports. These measures were taken to enhance service delivery. Three (3) years later, the aliens Act 1963, Act 160 was enacted to give legal backing to immigration operations.

The CSC aims to contribute to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, support excellence in UK higher education, and sustain the principles of the Commonwealth. The CSC selects candidates on the basis of merit and their potential to contribute to the needs of their home countries.

Commonwealth scholarships and fellowships in the UK are funded by the Department for International Development (for developing Commonwealth countries) and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. It also receives funding from the Scottish Government (for developed Commonwealth countries) while working with the UK universities.

Commonwealth Foundation Scholarships

The Foundation provides grants of up to £ 200,000 for four years to support innovative ideas and approaches to projects that seek to strengthen the capacity of civic voices to engage with governments and to have the potential to improve governance outcomes and participation through their participation.

The Foundation builds on the power of stories and narrative for social change and will support creative approaches that have the potential to influence public discourse.

Hence, the selection process is highly competitive and the selected projects are designed to work with the potential to lead to the worst results in the strategic logic model of the Foundation.

However, the teams of the Foundation program participate in the definition of the approach to call for proposals. An internal review process, which includes a large list of the grant team, followed by a brief list process that involves all program teams, prepares a final list of requests presented to the grant committee.

The final decisions on which projects to support are made by the Member States represented in the Foundation Grants Committee.

Before we Continue, Let’s talk a little about Narcotics Control Board Ghana:

The Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) is a Ghanaian agency under the Ministry of Interior. It is the agency concerned with the formulation and enforcement of narcotics laws in the country. The board’s work is aimed at preventing the use, import, and export of narcotics.

Functions

The agency has three main functions, supervised by the Interior Ministry. The functions consist of the following:

== Enforcement and control of narcotic control laws in the country
== Education and prevention of the use of narcotics
== Treatment, rehabilitation and social re-integration of narcotic addicts.

The board regularly has inspectorates at various entry points of the country, particularly airports and seaports. Regular sweeps are done on marine vessels and on passengers at airports as security checks. During these inspections, if any suspected narcotic product(s) is found, the board confiscates them and runs tests to ascertain the kind of substance it is. The culprits are then arraigned before law courts for their cases to be tried. The narcotic product confiscated is then burned to prevent redistribution of the product. One such burning was done in June 2010 when the board destroyed 167 kilograms of seized cocaine at the Teshie Shooting Range in Accra.

Jobs/Vacancies / How To Identify A Scam Interview Invitation by article3030: 11:24am On Mar 05, 2020
I have seen so many Nairalanders complaining and lamenting their ordeal in the hands of fake scam companies who invite people for interview only to introduce them to fake drug marketing business.
I'm doing this not only because these companies waste people's time, energy and T-fair going to such interviews, but also because most of these scammers extort money from hapless job seekers thereby making their suffering times two.
Imagine a scammer extorting #10,500 from a graduate who have been unemployed for years, not to talk of the transport fare wasted going to such fruitless interviews or job chat as they usually call it.
Some people even borrow money to pay these sheep in wolves clothing, who promise them heaven on earth. Some will tell you that you will make half a million within 1 month and all that. If you're not careful, you will take a loan that you will not be able to repay thus causing embarrassment and lack of rest of mind. An unemployed person should have only himself to worry about, not having debts also.

So I believe that if we are properly guided, we will not fall into the hands of these scammers.
Having said that, there are ways by which one can identify a fake or scam interview invitation and there fore avoid such waste of time and money. The good thing is that most of their messages come in the same format, so you will know its fake!

, CHECK OUT!: ==> FORMAT AND DOCUMENTS SCAMMERS DO USE TO SWINDLE MONEY FROM PEOPLE

1. The message does not bear a company name: most of these scammers won't include their names on the message you will receive. All you will see are the address, the time and date and a phone number. A genuine company will not hide its identity from a potential employee.

2. The message will say "interview/job briefing": whatever job briefing means I don't know!
3. You will see a code or reference: something like "HR=0056" or "REF=002". This is an indication of the code number of the person who invited you to the "job briefing".
4. It will contain a phone number: this is the number of your referer. Most genuine companies don't give phone numbers.
5. You will see HR Admin in the message instead of company name
6. If you call their number, they will be reluctant to give info on the company.

And pls, ignore those people sharing job flyers on the streets, and those ones they paste on walls. Those are scammers and some ritualists too. And also most of these so called agencies are avenues for duping unsuspecting job seekers. Pls shine your eyes well well.
I will post the names of some of these fake companies/ agencies later.

Pls if you have any experiences inthe hands of these scammers kindly share it here so that others can learn and avoid them too. Thank you

Cheers!

Sports / SOCCER: Jürgen Klopp Concerned By Liverpool Losing Their Defensive Solidity by article3030: 1:48pm On Mar 04, 2020
Jürgen Klopp concerned by Liverpool losing their defensive solidity

Jürgen Klopp concerned by Liverpool losing their defensive solidity – Liverpool are hardly struggling, with a first league title since 1990 virtually in their hands but the defeat at Chelsea was a third defeat in four matches. It was also the third on the spin away from home, following the 1-0 last 16 first-leg loss to Atlético and the shock 3-0 league reverse at Watford on Saturday.

Jürgen Klopp lamented the defensive lapses he felt condemned Liverpool to a 2-0 FA Cup exit at Chelsea but he maintained his team could regain their momentum as they look ahead to next Wednesday’s Champions League showdown against Atlético Madrid.

Chelsea were helped on their way to a morale-boosting win when Adrián fumbled Willian’s shot after Liverpool had lost possession at the back. Klopp was also critical of how his team surrendered possession in the buildup to Ross Barkley’s stunning second on the counter.

“Momentum went our way for so long because we defended outstandingly,” Klopp said. “Usually you don’t get a lot of chances against us but now we have to admit that in the last four games [including the 3-2 home win over West Ham] we conceded absolutely too many goals. But they are all completely different situations, so it’s not one problem.

“I’m not worried about momentum. You don’t get it as a present and you have always the chance to get it back. We’re not 100 miles away and the boys are strong. We have done very well but tonight was not good enough in decisive moments and that is what we have to accept. Losing 2-0 is not good but it’s easy to explain. We made massive mistakes around the goals.”

“What wins or loses games is what you do in both boxes. We got a slice of luck and had some quality saves from Kepa and quality defending from individuals. And we took two chances that won us the game. It’s hard to be comprehensive against Liverpool because they remain in the game because of the team they are. But we can’t ask for any more in terms of spirit, work ethic and quality.”

MORE: Jürgen Klopp concerned by Liverpool losing their defensive solidity

Frank Lampard has seen his Chelsea team perform better, at times, against the bigger sides. “There’s a big positive and some negatives to that,” he said. “In the first two games against Liverpool this season, we may have played better football than today – in the European Super and the league [both of which they lost]. But this time there was an extra spirit about us.

Npower News 2020 – latest Updates Here – The Nigerian government has said it will overhaul the N-Power scheme, school feeding programme and other projects under the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIPs).

“All present processes, especially beneficiary enrolment and payments including for consultancies, are being scrutinised and stakeholders are being consulted for inputs that will lead to the total overhaul of the programmes in order to achieve the purposes for which they were established,” a spokesperson at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Rhoda Ishaku Iliya said in a statement.

https://www.fedexpress.info/fresh-npower-news-2020-latest-updates-here/

Reps to probe delay in payment of allowances to N-Power beneficiaries – House of Representatives has ordered a status inquiry into federal government’s N-Power scheme under the National Social Intervention Programme.

This was after its relevant Committees met with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and others managing the scheme.

National Assembly Correspondent, Joke Adisa, reports that in 2016, the Federal Government established the National Social Intervention Programme in fulfilment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign promises to tackle poverty and end hunger in the country.

In recent times, allegations of arbitrary disengagement and non payment of allowances to beneficiaries have trailed that programme.

Humanitarian Affairs Minister, Sadiya Farouq and others present at the hearing provided insight into the lawmakers’ inquiries, insisting allegations of arbitrary disengagement and arrears of stipend are untrue

The committee said thousands of beneficiaries alleged they are owed the N30,000 monthly stipend while also being arbitrarily disengaged.

The programme includes the N-Power scheme which consists of the N-Teach, N-Agro, N-Tech, N-Build and N-Creativity programmes.

NPower Beneficiaries to Embark on Strike over Non-payment Of stipends

Education / FRESH: What You Need To Know About NDLEA Recruitment 2020 by article3030: 9:27pm On Feb 29, 2020
NDLEA recruitment 2020 – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is a Federal agency in Nigeria charged with eliminating the growing, processing, manufacturing, selling, exporting, and trafficking of hard drugs. The NDLEA also targets the leaders of narcotics and money laundering organizations. Its head office is in Ikoyi, Lagos.

FUNCTION

NDLEA in Nigeria does the following:

== Prevent manufacturing and selling of drugs.
== Demolish narcotic plants, substances, and drugs they find.
== Consolidate with international agencies to fight drug traffickers.
== Patrol public places, where the drugs might be illegally exported abroad.
== Investigate and prosecute criminals.

Former Chairman of NDLEA, Alhaji Ahmadu Giade, described illicit drugs as "alien" to Nigeria. Cannabis, now locally grown in most states of the federation, was introduced to the country by foreigners. Ms Dagmar Thomas, the Country Representative of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), says Nigeria was one of the largest cannabis growers in Africa, with over 8% of the population using cannabis. Annual cannabis seizures increased from 126 metric tonnes in 2005 to 210 metric tonnes in 2007.

Why are drugs are so widespread here in Nigeria? Unfortunately, nowadays Nigeria is regarded as the heart of African drugs trafficking. The poly-crime institutions of Nigeria keep expanding their contribution in drugs trafficking all around the world. The trafficking organizations of Nigeria usually monitor the Sub-Saharan African drug markets, and they also manage drug spread systems from strategic positions all over the world. Nigerians are responsible for the trafficking of a great amount of heroin used in the US. Also, they contraband the cocaine from South America to Europe and Africa, especially to the Southern Africa. What is more, they traffic such drugs as marijuana or cannabis (the only one drug that is farmed in Nigeria) abroad.

NDLEA Chairmen The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency usually consists of:

- the Chairman; - the representative of the Nigeria Police Force;

- the Director, Military Intelligence; - the Director of Customs and Excise;

- the Director, State Security Service;

- the representative of the Federal Ministry of Justice;

- the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency;

- the representative each of the Ministries of External Affairs, and Health;
