jesusfreak: Might that be because like him, you find it easier to backbite? penfold: @ Penfold, Thanks for your support. I had resolved to let the old senile fool called Orikinla to continue with his delusions of grandeur, but he decided that he wanted to take me on when writing on Joy1225’s thread titled 'Hi People' or something similar. I have now given the nonentity a chance to have a proper go at me face to face instead of all these surreptitious insults that he is throwing out of the side of his mouth. I have waited and waited, but nothing seems forthcoming from the half-baked twit. He will soon talk about how he is born-again or that he will not stoop to trading insults and all such other crap he may come up with. I often laugh when I see the crap he comes up with on this forum. People who do not know him might think he has something (albeit minute) to offer or that he rubs shoulders with important people the way he carries on with all his boasts and name dropping. All I can say is DO NOT BE FOOLED as EMPTY VESSELS MAKE THE LOUDEST NOISE. |

Orikinla, As stated on Joy1225’s thread, I have created this thread so that you may state to me directly, whatever you have been too cowardly to say before. Don’t hold back. Let rip as much as you like. In keeping with my word on Joy’s thread, I am letting you have first shot since you seem to know me and my family so well and you seem to have a lot to say behind our backs. Enjoy your five minutes of fame. |

Hello Joy1225. Welcome to the literature child board. I hope the threads you find here enlighten you (and if not, I hope they entertain you at least). Let me take sometime to apologise to you in advance for what is about to degenerate into an ugly clash on your thread (though I will endeavour to move it to another thread). I have noticed that the Nairaland nonentity Orikinla has made himself known to you already. I’ll advice you to pay little heed to his claims of self-importance or success as they are in reality the demented and wishful rantings of a failure who sees the age of fifty fast approaching with no notable achievement to herald his old age. As for you Orikinla or Michael Chima or Chima Eke or whatever name you choose to go by, I am laughing really hard here with my mates. I observed that all your attempts to see my photograph have failed and in your typical retarded manner, you have resorted to behaving like the gutter rat that you truly are. Soon people will hear you preaching about the word of God whilst you claim that you are a Christian {What a fucking hypocrite}. And you wonder why you are still a failure while fast approaching the age of fifty. If you like call me ugly, if you like call me a monster, all I can say is that nothing you do or say will affect me in the slightest as I am not the one who looks like an AIDS victim who is yet to recover from the effects of the Biafran war of over thirty years ago. If in your warped and deluded pea sized brain, you call yourself goodlooking [a description I am howling with laughter over] , I'd rather remain as ugly as a monster. Anyway, I have seen that you are really desperate to take me on. I shall give you the opportunity to take your best shot at me. I will create a thread especially for this purpose. Please do not hesitate to lash out as much as your half baked brain can allow you to under the circumstance. Out of respect for your old age, I shall let you take the first shot. Please don’t chicken out. Also, try to have respect for Joy1225’s thread by taking your petty, gossiping, shrivelled, old carcass to the thread I have created especially for you. |

Orikinla: LOL. I see the wheels are beginning to come off. No need for the bravado. To anyone who does not know you or I, it may be thought that you are asking questions that you really require the answers to. But we both know otherwise, don't we Mr. Orikinla a.k.a. Chima a.k.a. Michael a.k.a. Ekenyerengozi (a.k.a. whatever other name you now choose to go by)? Like I said before, I see that your tale has taken a different dimension in Parts II and III showing that you have done a volte face of sorts. Since it has been firmly established that I am not Yetunde, your intergrity is once again called into question and your queries nullified. Of course Yetunde's mother got pregnant while mourning her husband. It was a man called Sunday (Gladys' husband) who lived on Bajulaiye Road that got her pregnant or don't you remember? Oh wait a minute, that isn't true. Sunday had already been murdered by Gladys by the time Yetunde's father died. So who could the father be? Hmmm, I wonder. Yetunde's mother was definitely a "Cele". I do not have a clue why she would put pepper in Yetunde's vagina. Didn't rumours have it that she also put salt, curry and thyme? Me, I just concluded that since there was no light on the night in question, she must have mistaken Yetunde's vagina for her cooking pot. The woman should have gone to specsavers. Regarding confidence and pride in my posting, I'd advise you to stick to your dreams or to being a charlatan and stop trying your hands on psychology since you are rubbish at that. How will my picture boost what I am writing? Stick to telling your tales and trying your manipulative tricks on the gullible twits you hang around. It would take someone greater, better and more skillfull than you to be able to manipulate me. To lay the matter to rest, you know Yetunde is "the prettiest of the Nigerian West Indian family in Shomolu". Poor me, I look like a gorilla, or don't you remember? OBJ looks like a beauty queen when compared with me. So yes, I do not want anyone to see my photograph as I am very very very very very very "ashamed" of my looks. I hope I have cleared that up now. |

@ poster, I noticed you did a volte face of sorts, but since it was not total, I ain't satisfied. In total tribute to someone we both know, here is a "faction" mini-sketch I wrote titled - THE LIFE OF A NONENTITY Part I - Chima - A Perfect Example in Selfishness Gladys wiped her brow as she squinted over the open fire in the small and blackened kitchen. The firewood she was using to cook was wet, causing smoke to fill the kitchen and the fire kept dying out. Her eyes hurt from the smoke and she coughed sporadically. “Chima!” she called. “Chimaaaaa!!” There was no reply. ‘This stupid boy will not kill me,’ she thought as she marched into one of the two rooms that made up their sparse living quarters. Chima was lying on the bed, daydreaming as usual. “Chima, so you are here and you heard me calling you yet you didn’t answer,” she said angrily. Chima ignored his mother. He resented her and his father. He resented the kind of life he was born into. Why didn’t God make him the child of a rich man? “Chima, is it not you I am talking to?” she queried. Chima still did not answer. “Chima, this your stubborn attitude would get you nowhere in life,” Gladys scolded. “Just come and go and buy me some dry firewood. The one you bought is wet and won’t catch fire. My pot of soup is almost ruined. Oya, hurry up.” Chima lay immobile, a frown pasted on his face. “Chima! Chima!! Chima!!!” Gladys voice was raised in anger. “Mama Ogini!” Chima shouted. “What is it? Everyday Chima this, Chima that. Am I your houseboy? Abeg leave me alone ojare. Don’t you know I am an intellectual? People like me don’t go around buying firewood. I am trying to think about my future, so don’t disturb my life.” “Ehn Chima, is it me you are shouting on? This has become your new habit. Chei Chima. Chineke, see the child that I carried for nine months in my womb. See the way he is shouting on me like I am a nobody,” Gladys said biting her finger in frustration and regret. Chima ignored his mother’s lamentations. He was sick and tired of this rubbish. He could not wait to make it big and get the hell out of this hell hole. He often dreamt of the day he was going to be a famous writer. “Chima, you know your little ones are sick. You know that I myself am not well and instead of easing the burden on me, you are not even helping at all. Okay, where is my change, let me go and buy the firewood myself,” she said, resigned to the fact that she was not going to get any help from him. “Where is the change Chima,” she repeated. Chima continued to ignore her. “CHIMA!” she shouted. Chima jumped off the bed angrily, shouting “Mama, I said you should leave me alone.” He shoved his mother out of the way and stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him. “Ewoooo,” Gladys wailed, putting her hands on her head and then beating her chest. “Chima, I will make sure your father hears about this when he gets back,” she called after him. Dejected, she trudged out of the room heading back to the kitchen. However, before she could reach her destination, she ran into Mama Chichi in the corridor. Mama Chichi looked really upset. “Madam Gladys,” Mama Chichi said. “I have come to report Chima to you,” To be Continued. Part II - If Nobody Sings my Praises, I will Sing it Myself (Coming to a Cinema/Bookshop/Forum near you). By the way, this story na "faction" o. |

Orikinla: LOL. You could have fooled me for a minute there. It is funny how you have a case of amnesia now and are jabbering on senselessly, when a couple of months back, you did not doubt or dispute who I am. Just to refresh your memory, I refer you to one of your previous postings on https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-53353.0.html . Some people might be tempted to think that you are beyond cheap/petty tricks, but apparently not. Funny how despite your being 100% Igbo, you have done everything to absorb the Yoruba culture including taking on a Yoruba alias [Talk about being and acting like a second class citizen] and saying that the Yoruba culture is the richest Nigerian culture. Anyway, I have decided to leave you to your "faction" or fiction and let you get on with it. Having started, there is no need to separate fiction and fact. I will relish returning the favour in full [matching fact for fact, fiction for fiction], as unlike everyone else on this forum, I do actually know you - warts and all. This is not a threat, it is a guarantee. By the way, there is no need to take me serious as I am probably "anyone" who is hiding "behind a computer online" and moreover, I can "claim anything". I believe I have said more on this subject than I have on any other one in this forum. So I guess I'm done now (at least I hope I am). I have said my piece. You have yourself a good day sir. |

Maybe you should go and bark about your own mis-matched dysfunctional family. If you were a storyteller as you claim, you'd tell a story and let your imagination guide you, but I guess that is too hard an exercise for someone like you. You couldn't even make up names and places if your life depended on it - and it has for some years now. Hasn't it? Since life is such a great story, maybe you should regale your audience with tales from your chequered past. |

With this story which you call "faction" or fiction, you have sunken to new low levels. What the heck is the matter with you? We both know that predominantly, your story is not fiction so cut out the bullsh*t. - Yetunde - Morocco Ville - Nigerian West Indian family - Cele - Nest berry - which FYI is the wrong spelling - Riverdale - another wrong spelling - Bobo e.t.c. I can go on and on. The best you could do was change yvette's name to yvonne (the closest name you could come up with). You are skating on very thin ice mister. |

@ SMC, You should know better than to allow yourself to be dragged down the tribalistic route so that you are trading insults with people who themselves don't know any better. You have clearly made your point and anyone who has read the posts can see what it is. Good to see that you have decided to take the high road and quit while ahead. Seriously though, you should know better. @ Topic, Halle Berry is a beauty queen and wins Genevieve Nnaji hands down |

It's a small world after all. I just saw the photograph you put on your post titled 'A Stranger in America'. If Orikinla and Michael Chima are not the same person, then please ignore what I am about to write below [or tell Chima what I have written]. If however, they are one and the same person, then I can safely say that I know you (as well as your siblings and parents) and you know me and my family [but I gather you've already figured that out from my name]. I knew your parents who were good people (may their souls rest in peace) and I must say that one of my names was given to me by your dad and one of your brothers got one of his names from my father. Anyway, I should have guessed that it would be someone like you who wrote all these stuff, for even back in those days, you were quite controversial and I do remember that the parting of ways of my family and yourself was not particularly amicable. Nevertheless, extend my regards to Nnamdi, Clarke and your lovely sister Babinta (I hope I spelt that right). Tell Clarke that I'd like to hear from him. Let me know what he says and I can IM you my e-mail address if necessary. |

Literature / Re: Your Excellency, You Are A Liar by ayomorocco(f): 1:16am On Mar 20, 2007 |
Coleslove: Coleslove thank you o. I must say that I agree with SMC on this matter. Orikinla believes too much in self glorification. I will give one glaring example. I was reading the eulogies written by different people for Anthony Fatayi-Williams (who lost his life in the July 7, 2005 bombings in London) . Everyone had something to say about the deceased e.g. how nice he was, how they met him, tributes e.t.c. I was shocked, dismayed and appalled when I saw that the very first sentence Orikinla deemed fit to write in his tribute was " I am a Nigerian prize-winning poet" (please see http://www.guardian.co.uk/attackonlondon/tributes/page/0,,1528744,00.html). This was in a eulogy to someone who had lost his life prematurely and all Orikinla could think about was to promote himself. To say that this was tacky, in bad taste and lacked decency would be putting it mildly. It just shows the kind of person Orikinla is. To be fair, I must say that he wrote a decent poem in tribute, but that was overshadowed by the fact that he saw it fit to glorify himself first. Orikinla before you unleash your vituperation on me like you did with SMC (I was shocked by your arrogance, or was I?), I'd say save it for someone who gives a damn about you and your self-glorifying ways. |

I am surprised no one said anything about the issue stated in Orikinla's 1st post about Harry Potter outselling the Bible. I don't know who came up with the ludicrous notion that the last Harry Potter Book will outsell the Bible at some point. I actually doubt that all seven put together will outsell the bible. There are different versions of the Bible and the Bible will continue to sell centuries after Harry Potter ceases to be fashionable and certainly centuries after we are all dead and gone . |

The Concubine was one of the literature prose texts that were used during the years I was in secondary school. I remember that it was one of my favorite prose books at the time as it made for light and easy reading. However, since it has been so long I cannot objectively evaluate if on an intellectual level, the book will compete favourably with texts from other parts of the world. Nevertheless, it made interesting reading in my youth and I am sure that the scriptwriter who will be in charge of turning the book into a movie script will beef it up suitably to provide for a decent film. |
