Islam for Muslims / Re: What Habits/lifestyles Has Islam Made You To Leave or Do? by baba11(m): 3:25pm On Jan 13, 2017
Origin:
Giving people the benefit of doubt, having a questioning mind, becoming a better listener, seeking knowledge(them say them say no dey pay).

This post has made me realize you should never use a person's behavior to judge the religion. One is there to improve the other.
Religion and personality are two different entities respectively.Islam is bound to make us a better humanity both in this world and hereafter.

I would have said drinking, but I don't think I would have been an alcohol person even without Islam. I hate bitter things.

Alliamdulilah for that.....Whatever Allah commands us to abstain from is for our own good.

Islam made me leave

Listening to music ( wasn't much of a listener anyways but occasionally).
Cursing/ abusing

It also

Made me control my anger and not get angry easily (alhamdulliah, I REALLY struggled with this before).
Made me open my heart to people and make excuses for them.
Made me be mindful of what I said.
Made me more focused in life.
Improve my relationship with my family( extended family inclusive).
Nice one.May it be better than this.Ameen..

When asked about the best of the believers, the Prophet replied, “They are those who have the best character and manners.
”(Sunan At-Tirmidhee: 1162; Sunan Abu Daawood: 4682)

In fact, the Qur’an uses the comprehensive Arabic word birr to refer to faith. As the Qur’an states, “Righteousness (birr) does not lie in turning your faces [during prayer] to the East or to the West. Rather, those with true devoutness are the ones who believe in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book and the Prophets…”(Soorat Al-Baqarah, 2:177).

Some days ago,i was in a state of while away time and this occur to me that: what has Islam made me to leave in accordance to what is expected of us.

Below are mine what about yours:

*Not listening to music.

*Do not drink alcohol.

*Do not smoke.

*Do not hand pictures of any form on the way.

e t c

And I am doing my best in being better in what is expected of us viz:

*Supplicating when going out or coming in toilet and house respectively.

*Praying compulsory and sunnatic prayers.

*Did not date.

*Be good to parents, family, friends and general people at large...e t c.

Allah says:

"O you men! surely We have created you of a male and a female, and made you tribes and families that you may know each other; surely the most honorable of you with Allah is the one among you most careful (of his duty); surely Allah is Knowing, Aware." (Al Hujuraat 49 : 13).

for disparity sake, go for unilag.

however, if you find yourself capable of running the two together, I will urge you to run it bcoz there are some cases that your ND may get you job before your BSc/HND gets you one
I did similar thing and i believe you too can do likewise...Where the onus lies now is doing the same course for both OND and Bsc..the ball is in your court on this.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My Experience In A Deceived Job Interview In Lagos(gnld Now Neolife Networking) by baba11(m): 9:36am On Dec 29, 2016
HenryG:
Please be aware and tell anyone you love to be aware of anyone even "love" ones. The person I trusted most during my NYSC that ended just two months ago contacted me to ask how far about job. I will quote as she sent the SMS ;

"Uncle(NCCF name) how "is" uuu? Saw ur call yesterday. Called u dis morning bur u dint pick. Ow fa have u got somtin doing? There's dis company av been called 4 an interview at lag. Still there dats Y have been busy lately. They r trying to get a new staff b4 Jan. I discuss wit d person who dat helped me submit my CV wen I saw ur call yesterday so i informed her abt u. She has informed d Director of d company so u can call me around 5pm 4 more details still busy now:-) takia"

I was joyous reading the msg that day and could not wait for 5pm to reach. After series of conversations for some days, she made me have a picture of a Big international company that I can benefit from her link to secure a job. I noticed as well she hid some vital information from me like the deep work of the company, address, etc All she says is; "don't worry". All i need to come over to do is to come for interview and immediately start 3 weeks training, and I was assured of accommodation provision by the company.

To bring the story to an end, I started the journey from Ilorin kwara state to Lagos without been given an address until I was on my way already. I got to Lagos d same day and went for interview the next day(today). At the instant of reaching d venue of interview, I knew I had bn deceived to come to Lagos I ve not been to before.
I just saw large crowd seated in circles with an instructor in each group, others going up and down, some paying money like giving account. I quickly knew as I saw different kinds of people there, some with dirty clothes, some with Polo shirts, some with faded clothes, some with casual dress, I even saw clothes with stitches and patches on. I was embarrassed, unlike me that dressed in full corporate there with my file. I was more embarrassed when I was told CV or certificate is not a criteria for employment there my file was even collected to show as example. From so called interview which I saw as forceful brainwashing talk about money making amidst looking outside, we all moved to a Hall for hours of serious brainwashing and madness with slangs and appraisals for those who had reached high level in d networking business. If anyone was seen not being attentive, sitting relaxed, dozing or worst of all operating phone would be publicly embarrassed at any session. Nobody could leave the venue as well.

At d end of all, new members were to pay #12,600 to join. Various payment means had been devised to pay instantly at the venue before leaving. At the worst level, if not whole amount, one can pay like 5k and d rest in installment. I experienced even worst, I told the lady that attended to me I only have #1,500 left to manage as I come, she said I should bring the money she would cater for my feeding. Telling her abt how I was deceived with d job interview as what I told everyone at home, she encouraged me to lie to family members the interview did click well and I'm starting training immediately. So, they should send me money for feeding and transport which I ll rather use to complete my #12,600 registration.

I'm presently in Lagos street at Iyana Ipaja, thinking on how to leave here and go back home. I did not fall for their grammatical blunders and unconvincingly sugar coated mouth, but my dearest friend(who is a female) deceived me. Although, I wish her all the best as I can see she has been brainwashed and joined them as they sinfully make use of bible references in convincing people.

PLEASE BE AWARE of undisclosed job opportunity invite especially in Lagos.
I am not surprised. You be JJC in the megacity.

The work on ground no be here. Imagine for a construction to halt vehicular movement on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway. Motorists are now following inner streets to get to their destination. Most banks facing the roads including Zenith and GTB have been defaced. This construction has got to be one of the biggest in Lagos. I'm earnestly waiting to see what the final product will look like.
...and WEMABANK too which is very close to GTB.
