Your dns servers, can you please screenshot them? Have you done a tracert yet? It doesn't seem as if your packets are exiting or being routed out of your network. Your NIC (Network card is fine), because you can ping your 127.0.0.1 address. However, You are unable to ping google.com or cisco.com so there is something wrong with the default gateway.

You either don't have dns setup, or your router has misconfigured routes.

So please provide me with the following:

ARP table: do an "arp -a" in command prompt
Routing Table: type "netstat -rn" in command prompt
DNS configuration: Go into Network and Sharing Center, then go to connection type and select wi-fi, go there then click on details. What do you see as the configured DNS server?
When I checked network and sharing center,i saw YOU ARE CURRENTLY NOT CONNECTED TO ANY NETWORKS..for details, kindly let's do it in private... I feel not comfortable sharing my physical address here.... thanks for your time and effort!!!!

Thanks bro, there's no limit to what you can achieve if you put your mind to it. There's so much to learn, the hack is to try and learn something new everyday regardless of the field. I've come to understand that no knowledge is wasted. Wish you great success bro.
Thanks

Hello guys,

Haven't been here in a while, nice to read up on all I've missed. @DanIndia bro, how's the CCNP hustle going? Haven't had the chance to contribute here cos I've been quite busy with work. @baba11 I'm proud of your hustle and enthusiasm bro, a couple of months back you were a rookie like me before I got certified, now you are running CCNP level preps, really nice.

You should understand that there are different strokes for different folks, getting a job boils down to your mentality. I wrote CCNA last year November and I currently work in one of the biggest multinationals in the world. There were guys who had CCNP and CCIE written at the interview but I was the only person HR picked for the job. Now I get to work with live gear everyday in a major enterprise network while learning other key aspects of server administration, mobility, and security.

It's not by your level of certs, it's by your passion to learn and improve. I would advice every network engineer to do at least a course in ITIL as it's fast becoming a must have regardless of which path you follow in IT. We use 5 ISPs where I work, some as main,, backup and voice and one common thing with all of them is whenever they have link outages or planned maintenance, they send us tickets so we can follow up (which is basically service operation and Incident/Request management under ITIL)

Writing my CCNP ROUTE next month, should get certified this year and hopefully get to ITIL intermediate level. Finally, if you intend to work in an enterprise Network (500+ computers), you can't escape learning server administration. My manager gave me 18 months to get MCSE certified so start learning that on the side now if you can. VERSATILITY AND PASSION IS THE KEY TO MAKING IT IN THIS FIELD.

Cheers guys, this thread has been a major contributing factor to giving me a platform to work where I work now. Keep the flag flying!

Congrats NoriegaQ...you inspire me..I've to apply more force on the pedal now to be really successful like you..I'm happy for you oo cool

You should know that will be herculean task; how long has the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) been in the house of representative and senate? They didn't pass it till date and you are asking PMB to toe that line too knowing that the perverts, selfish and corrupt reps and senators will trade on it till infinity to enrich their pockets and frustrate the move.

I stand with PMB on this one. Sometimes he may need to exercise fiat in a bid to achieve expected results. I choose to treat this as an executive decision. Senate and reps can go to hell!
You captured my exact thought....

The OP is wrong..what he just illustrated there is he stop the startup programs.. but it's not advisable to entirely disable all your programs because simply you intend to increase its speed..there are a few programs you'll maintain its status quo..one of wish is anti virus...just leave it operating and a few other security programs software.. YOU'LL BE SAFE cool

Typically speaking on a Windows Machine not assigned an IP address by a DHCP server, it received a Windows bogus IP address of 169.---.---.---. Please kindly check your interfaces. If you are tethering from your Android device, are you USB-tethering or Wi-fi tethering. You would have to check the proper Network Interface for the correct IP address information. To take a screen capture of your command prompt, kindly use Snipping tool on Windows.

I don't think so. The latest Catalyst Switch out there costs thousands of dollars.

On what IOS is the SWITCH running ? And believe, I've no prior experience with the 4507R.
