I have HND
I am a chartered accountant
I can earn as high as the market offers
I got admission to study MBA in uni Abuja with my HND and ICAN.
Don't mislead people
A Bsc graduate can't earn more than me because he went to a university. He can only do so if he has more experience.
Be guided

Guy you need a BSc to make your profile complete, let's not start the earning part please.
Zenith Bank, Stanbic IBTC, UBA, Wema Bank, GTB, Access Bank, Sterling Bank, MTN, Glo, 9Mobile etc don't employ HND graduates as core staff, they only employ HND Graduates on casual or contract basis so what do you have to say about this.

Please I'm not disparaging you or your career, I believe you are matured enough to absorb a strong feedback, you obviously have a good career going on for you, please abandon that MBA and get your BSc, it's just a year or maximum 2 years, you can later go for MSc or MBA.

Better still, you can become ACCA certified and you automatically be awarded Bachelor's Degree from Oxford Brookes University.

Even Tech professionals that work remotely are obtaining their bachelors degree.

Same way I strongly advise young kids against going to schools of nursing.

Just go for BNSC straight up.

Except for those who have already found themselves in the system, like I was many years ago.

Nigeria is just unbelievable. There are certain things that we can change even without breaking the bank.

Why can't NUC and Nursing Council come together and create a Pathway Of Graduates of Nursing and Midwifery Schools to obtain their BSc even after becoming Registered to practice angry angry angry

NOUN Abuja and ABU Zaria currently run BSCN distance learning program for registered nurses only. Within 2 years you will obtain your Degree.

Only a few will understand. Some even go as far as selling the lie that polytechnic graduates are well grounded in practicals.

Hahaha, a 2.2 university graduate have the probability of getting more pay than the best polytechnic graduate if they're both employed in the same place of work.

NB: I attended a polytechnic, but currently running a university program because I know what's up.

We're in the same shoes, I'm currently running a degree program too after many years of holding a HND certificate.

The talk of HND graduates being grounded in Practicals is just self consolation grin grin grin and a narrative to make innocent parents to keep wasting their hard earned money on their wards for the Polytechnic system.

Even COREN that certifies Engineers only certify university graduates.

Now you have made great points which I strongly agree with you, and the more reason Nigerian government needs to change Polytechnic academic structure and stop it at OND.

They need to scrap HND, let the Polytechnic stop at OND.

I understand you better now, but the manner you wrote your first post was dehumanizing and demoralizing to those who already have HND or in the process of obtaining one, which isn't fair to them

Intending HND graduates will still face Dehumanization and Demoralization in their future Academic and Professional pursuits anyways sad sad sad

That's why I'm awakening whoever cares to listen to act now, The government will not resolve this issue for you, As a HND Graduate, just look for a Private university nearby and continue with your studies, in 2 years you would have obtained your Degree which is equivalent to any Degree across the world.

Better still, NBTE has introduced a Top Up program to help HND graduates, It's just a year program, If you have the Money do it and eliminate the dark days of being a HND Graduate in Nigeria.

The way you guys openly display your ignorance, even universities abroad recognize HND, and is accepted for master studies

Only a few Universities in the UK and US accept HND for Masters, and such HND graduates must have significant work experience.

For US, they must do WES Evaluation.

The Whole of Europe, Canada, South America, Australia, Asia, Africa etc don't accept HND for Masters.

Tinubu your current President doesn't even have a verifiable certificate to talk of diploma cum degree.

Kwankwaso is an HND holder.

Olusegun Obasanjo is an HND holder.

Your former President Buhari is also a Diploma holder not a degree holder.

Don't demoralize those with HND because thousands of them end far better than Bsc holders at the end of the day.

You just acquired a Bsc after your HND and feel you have arrived or that you now have the right to shame your fellow HND holders, don't you know that's sign of someone who will not go far in life?

Contrary to your assumption, I'm actually trying to save a generation here, but I need to make them uncomfortable and awaken their minds with a piercing sharp arrow.

Nigerians are too docile to develop themselves angry angry angry

Remember that once you choose Polytechnic Education you have forfeited all STEM professions, You can't even be an Academician.
This is why we have a generation of unemployable youth in the country.

You can't advance STEM education with the Nigerian Polytechnic system, it's just a SCAM.

It's a lie to say HND Graduates fare better than University graduates in Nigeria, The Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, Radiographers, Nurses, Engineers, Professors, Top Management of Companies, Permanent Secretaries are mostly University Graduates.

Enough of making anyone feel better, Go and get your Degree.

I guess your former president buhari had a first class degree in law from the University of kastina.

I understand your point but this should be directed to the federal government to scrap Polytechnics and make them offer B.Tech just like what the UK did in the 80s

You shouldn't laugh the people obtaining ND or HND results i guess life happened to them.

I lived here in LA for over 8 years, i didn't even attend any tertiary institution in Nigeria but now I've a degree here in Cali

I must tell you Nigeria and Africa is a shithole compared to los Angeles but i would never laugh the people i can only insult the politicians do you know why because after their tenure they run to the western world. So be considerate when addressing HND graduates. Nigeria is already hard, you can push many to depression with your laugh.

I'm tired of this useless forum it's filled with tribal bigots and unintelligent kids like you. Some of us here just want to laugh and have nostalgia about our birth country so be reasonable

Nigga, Life didn't happen to anyone and I ain't laughing at no one, I mentioned it here that I'm a HND Graduate myself.

But the nail has to be hit at the right spot.

The Federal and State government are using Polytechnics to SCAM citizens with worthless certificates, I want the citizens affected to understand what's going on, they have an option to avoid Polytechnics and choose University Education.

No one is under compulsion to study in a Polytechnic, I wasn't forced to study in a Polytechnic either.

The government has obviously refused to upgrade the Universities to award B.Tech degrees, I expect the Citizens to use their intellect and avoid Polytechnics.

We don't need any protest to change things in Nigeria, we just need to avoid being scammed by our Government.

I really want to discomfort Polytechnic students and graduates, I'm a HND Graduate myself so this is not discrimination or bullying sad sad sad

Find a way to obtain a Bachelor's Degree, don't be deceived by the talk of equivalence, If it's not a Degree it isn't.

Polytechnics in Nigeria don't have the capacity to offer studies in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiography, Law etc

All Full-time Lecturers employed by Polytechnics must at least have BSc & MSc, even the Polytechnic system discriminates against it graduates.

Going for BSc after HND is not a downgrade, it's just to obtain a Degree because you never had one embarassed embarassed embarassed Going for NYSC or doing PDG doesn't confer you with a Degree, besides with your HND most Private and Public Universities in Nigeria will admit you into 300 level.

COREN doesn't certify HND or PGD graduates until they obtain a Degree.

HND graduates are not eligible for any Federal or State government scholarships for Masters studies.

Attending the best Polytechnics or Graduating with Distinction doesn't change the fact that you don't have a Degree.

Please don't pay for that PGD you're about to do, it's just another Diploma angry angry angry

Of course I know very well that becoming rich or successful is not dependent on Certificates, but my point is if you want to enjoy the Nigerian Formal System, a Bachelor's Degree is a must.

As amazing as Chile is for me as a country I don't think I can advise a family man to come here. This risk is better suited for young single mobile people with no responsibility. Dependents are allowed to work full time while main applicant is limited to 30 hours of work. The language barrier is going to be a very mountain to surmount as a family. As a family man from Nigeria I can only advise Canada. UK won't allow dependents except it's a research program. US but then dependents can't work even other european countries aren't favorable to family people. You need to pay your fees in full. Instalmental payments is only for citizens and permanent residents.

I suppose you mean 30 hrs of work per week as a student, that's sounds fair.

But can I get a visa for Spanish studies only.

They can't waste their resources to do our job for us, it's the Nigerian system that needs to ensure that a tout doesn't even obtain a Passport.
And those who obtained passports and decides to go abroad should be counselled by our immigration authorities at the airport and warned that if they commit a crime outside Nigeria, their passports will be revoked and will not be issued another one until after 10 years.

The UAE realized that our government didn't take the issue serious so they took matters into their own hands, if they lift the ban and Nigerians misbehave there again, they should enforce the ban again angry angry angry

Is it true that TEF format is about to change? And if so what are the changes we are likely to encounter. Please anyone with reliable information on TEF exam format change.

From what I gathered they will no longer have 60 questions in 40 minutes for Comprehension Orale. It will be 40 questions in 40 minutes. they will not use the section A,B,C and D format as we know it, instead they will use real recordings from tv5 monde, RFI and France 24. So one can no longer cram but must understand the recording and answer accordingly.

For comprehension ecrite , there will also be changes. Less number of questions but more long text questions.
The changes are said to take effect in October 2023.
Anyone with more information, please share

1M is not enough for a year, you need a minimum of 2M, this will cover your accommodation cost, feeding and transportation costs.
You can enroll into Institute Francais du Benin.

You can only consider a budget of 1M if you have someone that will accommodate you for free for the whole of the year.

Go to Chile. Use one year to learn Spanish, apply and enrol into the easiest course you can handle. Five years you collect citizenship. But this depends on why you want to emigrate. To me, anyone above 40 should remain in Nigeria and plan his retirement. Those above 35 but below 40 should emigrate only on a work visa into a structured company.

Fair Enough
Travel / Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by babakb: 3:43pm On Aug 20, 2023
Gerrard59:

These are the issues. It is clearly stated in the Japanese embassy in Abuja (online and at the embassy itself) that applicants should steer clear of agents. That is clearly stated. No agent can issue anyone any sort of visa to come to Japan. It is not possible. That is an immigration law from the Ministry of Justice.

That agent would issue you a fake tourist visa, you get to Haneda or Narita Airport, where you would be detained and deported. Thus, you would be banned from entering Japan for ten years. Alternatively, you take it to the embassy, and you would be denied and effectively banned from every visa application for six months. Since the visa was fake, you are then technically shadowed banned from future visa applications even after the six months elapsed.

Also, you cannot work in the country with a tourist visa. It is mission impossible neither can you convert it to working visa.

I for Impossible. It cannot be converted. That is a lie.

Yes, you don't need an agent to run a visa application for entry into Japan. The embassy hates that agent thing. In fact, it is not possible as all applications must be submitted to the embassy by the applicant physically.

To get a work visa, apply to jobs in Japan via LinkedIn or Indeed. The issues with getting a job in Japan while outside are the language and skill set. Language in that most jobs that can work out the COE application at the prefecture immigration bureau require proficiency of the language since your colleagues would be Japanese. On the other hand, the jobs that are lenient regarding language proficiency tend to be mostly tech/IT jobs. So if you know how to code and pass leetcode tests, Japanese companies would go all the way to ensure you get the COE and come into the country. Then on, you begin to learn the language.

Alternatively, you apply to Japanese language schools (they are quite expensive), get a language student visa and come to study the language. You are eligible to work for 28 hours per week. There are jobs available. The student visa has a COE attached to it which is converted to the residence card. Without that card, you cannot apply for jobs or anything at all. See why tourist visas don't count? The issue with the language schools, especially regarding Africans, is that there is a rule that if the applicant is more than 30 years old, schools should not accept the person even if the person can pay. Or if it is five years since the person left the university or secondary school. Such an applicant would be denied admission into language schools. Why I am specific about Africans is because the majority of language school students came to Japan immediately after their secondary school or first degree. These are Chinese, Vietnamese or Indonesians. Some of them study Japanese in their home countries to N3 level before entering the country. That is another leniency - attain N3 level and the applicant's age or years after graduation is waived off.

N5 is the lowest while N1 is the highest.

Now, the best/surest route for an African anywhere between 25 - 32 is via graduate studies. Either the person comes in via graduate studies or as a research student. I already outlined both processes in previous pages. Please go through them.

What about me that is 40 years angry angry angry
