Thanks guys for the welcome back.
GenBuhari:

@babs2011
welcome back madam, I have missed your contribution.
how ironic that you are unable to post on a Nigerian forum whilst in Nigeria undecided

^ There was just no chance for that mate. If you see the week that i had there, it was so so busy and i was moving from one location to another so no time to do posts. And you know being 'home' I just had to sample all the stuff i'd been missing so any logs would not have been helpful to either me or those reading. I just wrote that period off basically.

I weighed myself yesterday lipsrsealed. Ok, the damage is not as much as i thought it wld be, i put on 2kg so now to just get my mojo back and get my a ss kicked by JM grin. The kids are now on break so routine is a bit off but i need to find my rhythm again. Will start logging from tmrw.

Agb: how far now? Good to see you keeping on with the regime. Hope things are working out there for you? I assumed you were uk based (I'm referring to an earlier post of yours where you mentioned summer is at a diff time?)

They say "he who compares himself with another is a great fool" which is why i don't do it,but i honestly thought you are between 5"6-5"7[DEPENDING ON WHO MEASURES ME} and it has given me cause for speculation  but i didn't want to act like a troll but i was of the mind that "you must be very skinny" and have a lil bit of ED going on.cos the last time i was around 68-70kg in 2002,i was a 10-12 UK and very O.K .what a relief embarassed

^^@ Modath: I'm glad i posted my height in my prev post as i kind of figured that the above was what you might be thinking so thought i'd better clarify.  I do appreciate your frankness.  smiley

O girl, I'm far from being a 'skinny minny' o  and don't want to be one. In fact my bmi is 24.5 - so just in the normal range. As you know we 'shorties' have less leeway with extra weight and have to loose more than you peeps that are of average height and above to fall into the healthy category. And any excess weight we add shows even more on us  angry.   Just imagine at 68-70kg, you were a size 10-12 and for me at the exact weight i was definitely a large size 14 -  not fair lol!

^ yes o, nothing beats that 'lighter' feeling. I hate feeling all bloated and sluggish in myself. Its usually when i od on processed food such as white bread , carbonated drink and other crap that i feel that way. Our bodies will be thanking us for good choices made. Now just to be able to stay on this track 80-90% of the time eh?

Barbie,
Continue to dey pile on pressure, you hear !! God dey cry, is the noodles you have over there the "indomie " we have here in Naija.I stock the value pack so that's all we have in the house, i know its a waiting game and i know for a certainty i will have it when i cant bear it anymore, just still messing with myself, grin lipsrsealed

Babe, when you were 74kg what was your waist measurement??

^@Modath: no pressure babe, really no pressure wink . Yah the indomie is the same one as in naija (there are other variations but the naija indomie tastes the best), i buy it in a box of 40 cos the kids like it too. It's the regular pack though, not sure i've even seen the jumbo sold here.

When I was around 74kg I wasn't taking body measurements etc (it was only recently i started doing that) so can't say- all i know is i was def between a size 14-16 at that weight.

@Agaba: well done. Hope things are gradually pulling together out there? you're missing the glorious summer ya know lol grin

Hi All,
Hope y'all doing doing great!take care of yourselves.
I am seriously craving Indomie(about a fortnight now) but cos I know its 630 cals on its own without any additives like protein and veggies,I have been giving it the snub. I have been waging a battle with my psyche on when I will crack under pressure, being strong willed is tiresome, walahi.

^@ Modath: is it the 'jumbo' pack indomie you are referring to? I eat the regular size indomie and that has around 330 cals so not so bad and add veg to it can come under 450 cals. I'm actually having that for lunch today haha! smiley Its all about the portions as Gen said.

@HG: Good to know your still here with us, albeit lurking wink

@GenB: great news about your new surgery having such facilities, make the best use of it. It might just be the motivation you need and will make you accountable (we don't want to go wasting valuable nhs resources now do we??! wink grin lol )
I'm in maintenance but still want to lose about 3 to 4 kg to be really comfortable.

@Tolu: how you dey, glad to see your groove is coming back and don't put a sad face next to that fried chicken, it was just the 1 and in the grand scope of things not going to throw you off, afterall you're not 'dieting' are you?

@Gen B,
Kate moss never said SLIM,she said THIN[Anorexic level thin ] and she has been severely castigated for it,don't blame her she is severely out of touch seeing she's COKED up majority of the time.

^ actually she didn't say 'thin' either. She reffered to her motto as “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.”
I guess the terms 'slim', 'thin', 'skinny' could be regarded as the same or different depending on the context it is used. And as we all know in what context Miss Moss was reffering to. angry

GenBuhari:

Thanks madam,
Those are not superficial at all as how you look, usually also relates to how healthy you are  smiley

I may try and emulate your idea of diarising you meals and workouts in advance  smiley I really need to give myself a kick up the Bottom  and start shift some serious weight.

Is your other half on board with the health lifestyle?

Kate Moss, the supermodel was once quoted as saying that nothing tastes as good as being slim feels  smiley

^@Gen: yes diarising really helps, just plan on what days you will do a particular exercise and commit to it. I always enjoy ticking them off at the end of the week. My hubby is on board with being healthy but not as committed as i am, he does jogging every so often but he is one of 'those' who can eat stuff and not really gain weight also he is quite tall so it doesn't show too much. Been on his case regarding his tummy which is fast turning in pot belly  angry .

Tolulop001:

Size 18 to a 10  shocked shocked shocked omo I bow oh! thats really great!
i have some green tea oh, maybe ill try it tonight.

I really need to take a cue from you and stock up on a variety of snacks. Guess i started getting tired of rice and beans every single day!

My boss is fantastic, he wants to get a treadmill for the office YIPPEE but that means longer hours in the office (hope its not a set up lol)

^@Tolu: You see, now the mountain has come to mohammed i.e your boss hopefully getting a treadmill at work, then you will be able to plan your workouts around your working hours!

Thanks, funny enough it sounds like a lot dropped in dress sizes. As per weight dropped i was 84kg when i had my baby in march 2009. It then took me a year to drop back to my pre-preg weight of 74kg (was not doing much, just walks and i guess naturally the excess weight dropped off). It was then when i started exercising and watching my food seriously last year (march 2010) i dropped to 61kg by the end of june 2010.

Ok, so i stepped on the scales this morning. Last sunday i set out to really step things up esp regarding my food intake as that seemed to be the missing link in my weight being static for a while. I have a few stubborn kg's to lose and have set myself a target. This week i carefully watched most of what i ate trying to make healthy choices, switching thngs up and keeping an eye on the portion sizes and can say its been healthy 85% of the time.

Well its paid off,  the result is that i've lost 1kg! I was 65kg last sunday and now 64kg. It takes so much bleeding effort to lose even a kilo when you have not much weight left to target and so i'm really pleased and spurred on by this.
Health / Re: Daily Exercise And Food Routine For Those Who Want To Lose Weight by babs2011(f): 5:51pm On Jul 01, 2011
@Gen: yay! i won an award, now where is my trophy?? lol thanks for the nice thoughts though.

My motivation comes from me that feeling of accomplishment when i've woken up first thing before my household wakes and completed a workout, I always feel so good afterwards and its so worth it - even though i could have had an extra hour in bed.

I'm also just that type of person that sets goals i.e  on sunday evening i plan out my week including workouts (what dvds/exercise i will do and on what day etc) and write it down. And as its written down (usually in my diary) i feel committed to stick with it and feel accountable. This thread also helps me enormously as i know i will have to log something for the day.

Also i like how i look/feel now having dropped all that weight from pregnancy/post preg (trust me i was really big last year - size 16-18, now a 10) and the compliments i receive esp from hubby and friends, i never want to look 'mama ish' for as long as i can and like to wear nice clothes and look good in them lol, i know it sounds superficial but every little motivation helps in this. Also i know this is for life as i have family tendency of obesity so my eye has to be on the ball always. so in a not so nutshell (lol) those are my main motivation for now.

@Modath! I hail thee girlfriend  grin ok no mind me, just in a really good mood today haha. yeah where are these missing souls even one by the name of 'Romeo' who seemed to be a fitness trainer or something just disappeared again, hm.

@Tolu:Lol at you calling my food 'exotic' ! I've just been trying to be creative with my meal choices this week and avoid the snacking. I've esp been filling up on protein and fibre and reducing the carbs portions. I've also recently discovered the awesome benefits of drinking green tea and now replaced my milky coffee with this. Totally fat and cal free and so so good for you  smiley So far so good, feeling less bloated (have switched to wholemeal bread too and it tastes great - praise the lord, i seem to have conquored that lure to white bread which always made me want more and more).
ps: good luck for your weigh in. Also we can't be perfect 100% of the time, there will always be the odd slip up just make sure it is 'odd' and not 'constant' slip up.

@HG: can't wait to have you back girl, e ku moving o!

@Gen: hope morale is back up mate?

@Agaba: wassuppppp! lol tried some freestlying workouts this morning, doing weights and pylometrics etc,  (will log it in a mo) found it hard to stick with it for long. I'm so used to having an instructor (on dvd/live) shouting out the reps and instructing what exercise comes next etc,  also didn't have gbadun music to workout too so was just so boring,  lol

Ok guys/gals, the weekend is looming and i'm getting my mindset right, don't want to succumb to that weekend overeating/blowing it mind,  so nows the time to mentally prepare and get that willpower fired up peeps!
