Islam for Muslims / Re: The Fraud of Islam by babs787(m): 7:58pm On Feb 01, 2012
@Frosbel

I have no time for circular arguments, this subject has been addressed in a response I gave to ivoice247 a few posts up.

I do not really blame you because your brain has been programmed to stick to yourself without confirming the truth whereas your bible said you should confirm all things all hold fast to the truth.

Typical Muslims way of debating, you pesent the facts on a particular subject , and they keep asking for a repeat of these same facts , almost as if , they never saw the previous comments you made   , I have no time for games.

I did not see any facts but LIES. You supported TRINITY but all you could do was to hide behind sayings of those that did not witness Jesus' teaching but rely on hearsay as in the case of Luke.Provide verses where Jesus preached Trinity. Mind Jesus your bible was written thousand of years after Jesus demise and NOBODY witnessed his teaching.

This is about your Soul, and if you were to die today without the total forgiveness of your sins , thinking that with all the lies, lust and wickedness , you will be in paradise with Christ , you risk eternal damnation.

In case you are not aware, I was lost like you.

Do not kid yourself , this is serious stuff, Satan has you in his net.

I do not blame you when Jesus was not even a christian.

And by the way , this is about ISLAM and the fraud of it, why are we talking about the bible,

Please you could open different threads and we discuss?

@Tidytim & FroSbel

@Tdytim, you should have allowed Frosbel to respond rather than helping him/her out but all the same, my response would be addressed to both of you. I am also sorry for my late response, my link was down yesterday as I was about sending it.

Please do enjoy.

The following 2 plagiarised stories , courtesy of James M. Arlandson

Hold it, in case you missed it, this is what your brother Frosbel posted:

Secondly , you guys seem to have lost all shame, you call a book corrupt, yet you plagiarise it, quote it more than the Quran and try to interpose Muhammad between it's contradictory verses

I would not do a re-poste because of space and I also found out that you response went contrary to what your brother initially posted. BTW, Is the apocalyse you are hidind behind is part of your bible and kindly do the needful by telling me where it is in the bible and I would go check it up dude. I thought you would be smart enough to bring me a verse from your bible where you would claim plagiarization.

Lol. Let me help FROSBEL here

Good of you cheesy

But these were the very words of Jesus , making a distinction between , the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

What do you mean by preaching it

Preach to them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is different from TRINITY.

Mathematically, 1 + 1 + 1 = 3 but spiritually or in the christian world:

1 + 1 + 1 = 1.

Gos is God, son is God, Holy sprit is God yet they are not equal. Jesus still cannot do anything on his own without consultng God hence his statement in

John 10 v 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Also if Jesus is God, he would not be saying this statement:
""Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good–except God alone." Mark 10:18)"

Also Jesus never HEARD NOR SUPPORTED TRINITY when he was alive:

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.  Deuteronomy 6:4

"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Mark 12:29

Quote
This is not Jesus talking but hearsay addressed to the corinthians. Kindly supply where Jesus preached same.

You Muslims love to twist logic

This was not hearsay but a blessing from brother Paul to the church at Corinth , clearly depicting that the earliest church also held this concept.

You may have a look at this please:

In "The Dictionary of the Bible," John L. McKenzie, S.J., p. 899  bearing the Nihil Obstat, Imprimatur, and Imprimi Potest (official Church seals of approval), we read:

"THE TRINITY OF GOD IS DEFINED BY THE CHURCH AS THE BELIEF THAT IN GOD ARE THREE PERSONS WHO SUBSIST IN ONE NATURE. THAT BELIEF AS SO DEFINED WAS REACHED ONLY IN THE 4th AND 5th CENTURIES AD AND HENCE IS NOT EXPLICITLY AND FORMALLY A BIBLICAL BELIEF.

This polytheistic (believing in more than one god) Trinitarianism was intertwined with Greek religion and philosophy and slowly worked its way into Christian thought and creeds some 300 years after Jesus. The idea of "God the Son" is Babylonian paganism and mythology that was grafted into Christianity. Tertullian, a lawyer and presbyter of the third century Church in Carthage, was the first to use the word "Trinity" when he put forth the theory that the Son and the Spirit participate in the being of God, but all are of one being of substance with the Father. [/b]

The Jews also reject the trinity, in addition to the very first groups of Christianity such as the Ebonites, the Corinthians, the Basilidians, the Capocratians, and the Hypisistarians never know about trinity doctrine at all. The Arians, Paulicians and Goths also accepted Jesus (peace be upon him) as a prophet of God and against the trinity.  [b]

John 1:49-50, "Nathanael answered Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel." 50 Jesus answered and said to him, "Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these."

This does not point to TRINITY

Nathaniel calls Jesus the son of God and Jesus does not correct him. Jesus affirms Nathaniel's belief.

John 10:36-37, "do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, "You are blaspheming," because I said, 'I am the Son of God?' 37 "If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me."

Brother, Son of God means Servant of God in Hebrew. The below bible verses also showed same:

In King James Version, we have this

Acts 3:26 - Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

While in the New King James version we have this:

Acts 3:26 - To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning every one of you away from his iniquities.

So, you could see that Son of God is also Servant of God

Jesus is affirming that he is the son of God.

John 11:4, "But when Jesus heard it, He said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it."

That does not mean that he is God.

Jesus calls himself the Son of God.

John 19:7, "The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and by that law He ought to die because He made Himself out to be the Son of God."

The Jews understood that to claim to be the son of God was to claimed to be equal with God -  "For this cause therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God," (John 5:18, NASB)

John 20:31, "but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name."

Read my response up.  Son and Servant are used interchangeably in Hebrew.

THE FATHER Father

John 20:17 (ESV) -  "Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”

You even nailed yourself here cheesy. Jesus said to my 'FATHER and also my God meaning there is somebody superior to him in which he is reporting to and could never be equal because he seek things from Him.

Jn.10:30: " I and my father are one"

Why do u pick only that verse and ignored the rest. The above verse is clearly a later insertion. Read the full verses for understanding:

28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I (John 14:28)

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30 I and my Father are one

You may explain this to me:

John 17:20-22 "That the ALL may be made ONE. Like thou Father art in me, I in thee, that they may be ONE in us. I in
them, they in me, that they may be perfect in ONE".

HOLY SPIRIT

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you".- John 14:26

"Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness "- Luke 4:1

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." - Acts 1:8

Please your above post did not refer to TRINITY and if you want us to discuss COMFORTER, let me know please and we do that separately.

How did almighty God the Father  refer to Christ Jesus his SON

"For to which of the angels did God ever say,
“You are my Son,today I have begotten you”?
Or again,“I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”?
And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God's angels worship him.”Of the angels he says,
“He makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.”
But of the Son he says,“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

   You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has anointed youwith the oil
of gladness beyond your companions.”   And,
“You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning,
   and the heavens are the work of your hands;
they will perish, but you remain;they will all wear out like a garment,
like a robe you will roll them up,like a garment they will be changed.
But you are the same, and your years will have no end.”
And to which of the angels has he ever said,
“Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?
(Hebrews 1:5-13 ESV)

I have explained SON/SERVANT relationship to you but the above does not support TRINITY.

@tomzman. do you truly believe in trinity? (Father is god, jesus is god, holy trinity is god) It cannot even be found in the bible. God sent about 124,000 prophets to this world at different times, yet none of the prophets nor their followers contorted trinity, not even in the old testament, except when it came to the time of jesus(as).

Stop parotting what your Imams tell you.

The Trinity is found in the bible, check it out for yourself.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit -
[Matthew 28:19].

Sir, Baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the Son and of the Holy spirit does not in ANY way signifies TRINITY. I would need where Jesus preaches TRINITY please or says God, So and Holy Spirit are one.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all [2 Corinthians 13:14].

This is not Jesus talking but hearsay addressed to the corinthians. Kindly supply where Jesus preached same.

To God’s elect. . .who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood [1 Peter 1:1-2].

This is also not Jesus' preaching but third party.

Also consider the following verses :

And after being baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased." (Matt. 3:16-17)

This is still not Jesus

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." (Matt. 28:19)

Baptizing them in the name of the father, son and Holy spirit is different from TRINITARIAN BELIEF. Jesus did not preach trinity please and even preached against it likewise those before him.

Jesus said: "I and the Father are one." (John 10:30)

Maybe we need to cull this out as different topic to be discussed but still did not talk on TRINITY. Christians all over believe that this statement means that they are one but forgot that Jesus speaks in parables.

"He who has seen Me has seen the Father." (John 14:9)

Did not talk of TRINITY dude

"He who beholds Me beholds the One who sent Me." (John 12:45)

Confusion is here. 'The one who sent me" Jesus sent himself!!!

If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. (Rom. 8:9)

"Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for that which has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." (Matt. 1:20)

Holy spirit's son or what are you insuniating?

Please signify being my guest if you are ready to thrash the listed verses by you ONE at a time. Most of the verses you posted here are not direct saying of Jesus but mostly by Paul, the founder of Pauline Christianity in which you so much follow. I f you have been reading your bible, you would see that Paul go against Jesus' teaching in so many ways and Jesus never heard of TRINITY nr preached same

Creation is Need of Allah

Man always looks for what benefits him and what protects him from harm. However, to accomplish this, man must be able to realize what is harmful. He must then know whom he should need, trust, and love so that he can attain what is beneficial as well as to feel good about his choice. He also must know the proper and good approach that would make him achieve this goal. This latter condition requires that man:

1.Know about harm
2.What ways can be used to drive harm away

Certainly, man can have no better guidance than that which comes from the One Who had perfected everything, and the One who Has no deficiency in Himself and in His Attributes. The One Who is Ever-Living and Who does not die. There can be no One better than the One Who Has no need for anything; the One Who is rich; the Giver; the One who, after all, controls man's soul. Man is so poor to Him. He is Allaah, the True and only God. Man can bring harm to himself if he seeks other than Allaah for help. Allaah is the One Who can help man drive away any harm for it cannot occur without His Will and His Power.

Allaah (SW) sent down His Books and chose His Messengers to guide man to:

1.Know His Lord as He (SW) had explained about Himself, and
2.Seek Him Alone while living in accordance with His plan

Knowing Allaah's Names and Attributes liberates man from worshiping any form of creation because creation is weak and is in need of The Creator, Allaah. The knowledge about Allaah leads man to know that he is created to live according to Allaah's way as revealed to the last Messenger Muhammad . This Revelation contains a complete code of life. Everything that is beneficial or harmful is established so that man can center his life around this Revelation. If man commits wrong and knows that Allaah is Oft-Forgiving he would turn to Him and to Him alone seeking His forgiveness:

"Know, therefore, that there is no God Who deserves to be worshiped except Allaah; and ask forgiveness for your sins." (Qur'an, 47:19)

It is wrong to think or believe that Allaah created other 'gods' besides Him so that man turns to them for help; loves them or fear them, etc. He is the same God of all nations. He does not order that people should make of stars, sun, fire, Jesus, Moses, etc. gods besides Him. He (Most Exalted) cannot be 'contradictory'. He has one way (religion) that calls man to surrender his will only to Him. He warned that if man (even Muhammad would take partners with Him, then his work will fail and will be among losers:

"And verily, it had been revealed to you (O Muhammad ) as has been revealed to those before you. If you join others in worship with Allaah (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain and you will certainly be among the losers. Nay! But worship Allaah and be among grateful." (Qur'an, 39:65-66)

Let us know what Muhammad , the man-Prophet, who knew Allaah best, used to say:

"O Allaah, I seek refuge in You for Your Pleasure and against Your Wrath, and in Your Forgiveness and against Your Punishment and in You from You, I cannot Praise You as You can Praise Yourself." (Muslim, Abu Dawoud, at-Tirmidhi, ibn Majah)

"I have surrendered myself to You, I have directed my face to You, I have entrusted my affairs to You, I have compelled my back to refuge in You, in want and in fright of You, there is no resort nor survival from You except (in turning) to You. I have faith in Your book (i.e. the Qur'an) which You brought down and in the Prophet (Muhammad ) you have sent.
" (Al-Bukhari, Muslim)

When we read in the Qur'an that:

"Whatever of Mercy (i.e. of good), Allaah may grant to mankind, none can withhold it, and whatever He may withhold, none can grant it thereafter. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." (Qur'an, 35:2)

And when we read that:

"If Allaah touches you with hurt, there is none can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His favor which He causes it to reach homsoever of His slaves He will, and He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Qur'an, 10:117)

We should be motivated to return to Him Alone at times of ease and at times of hardship.

And when we read that:

"If Allaah helps you none can overcome you, and if He forsakes you, who is there, after Him, that can help you. And in Allaah (alone) let believers put their trust." (Qur'an, 3:160)

The Qur'an, therefore, leads man to a true liberation from any false attachment. It brings peace to the heart. It helps the believer against hypocrisy and all forms of dishonesty. Imagine, for example, a believer facing a problem at work. He sees wrong and faces unlawful practices. He does not fear rejecting what is wrong. He knows that the job is only a means to gain his sustenance. While he may be unable to correct what is wrong, he knows well that Allaah is the One Who provides. If he leaves his job for the sake of Allaah, Allaah will give him a better one. Allaah (SW) said:

"And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him. He will make a way for him to get out (from) every (difficulty), and He will provide him from (sources) he could never imagine." (Qur'an, 65:2-3)

The above texts, necessitates that man must depend upon Allaah (SW) asking Him Alone for assistance. It also requires that man must love Allaah and worship Him Alone to gain His pleasure and His help. Is it not true that the people who consider this life as the "Final Goal" end up worshiping many things in it? You see them so careful about "having it all". They torture themselves: pain, difficulty, constant worry, keeping their hands in the banks for loan after loan to keep up with the "demands of development". They are under the constant threat of fore-closure. They constantly see poverty in front of their eyes. The Prophet said:

"Allaah says: 'Son of Adam: Fill your time with My worship and I will fill your heart with richness, and end off your poverty. But if you donot, I would make your hands fully busy (i.e. in worldly affairs) and I would not end off your poverty.'" (At-Tirmidhi said that it is a good hadeeth)

Our purpose of existence on earth is more meaningful than being slaves to worldly gains. There can be no meaningful life better than that prescribed by our Creator Allaah. Every act done according to Allaah's way is an act of worship. Man is the beneficiary and Allaah is in no need:

"O mankind! It is you who stand in need of Allaah, but Allaah is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of All Praise." (Qur'an, 35:15)

SOME HADITH THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR GOOD

1. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "This world is the prison of the believer and the paradise of the unbeliever." [Muslim]

2. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "The Fire is surrounded by indulgence (pleasures) of appetites and Jannah is surrounded by things people dislike." [Agreed upon]

3. Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, (PBUH), said, "A man follows the religion of his close friend, so each of you should be very careful about whom he takes as a close friend." [Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi]

4. Sahl ibn Sa'd reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "Anyone who safeguards for My sake what is between his jaws and what is between his legs, I will safeguard Jannah (Paradise) for him." [Agreed upon]

5. Anas reported that the Prophet, (PBUH), said, "None of you can truly be said to believe until he wants for his brother what he wants for himself." [Agreed upon]

6. An-Nu'man ibn Bashir reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "The metaphor of the believers in their mutual love, mercy and affection is that of the body. When one limb of it (the body) complains, the rest of the body collapses with sleeplessness and fever." [Agreed upon]

7. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "The strong man is not the one who throws people in wrestling. The strong man is the one who has control of himself when he is angry." [Agreed upon]

8. Jarir ibn 'Abdullah reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "If someone does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him." [Agreed upon]

9. Abu Muhammad al-Hasan ibn 'Ali ibn Abi Talib said, "I memorised from the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH): 'Abandon anything that gives you doubt for what gives you no doubt. Truthfulness is peace of mind and lying is doubt." [At-Tirmidhi]

10. Abu Umama Sudayy ibn 'Ajlan al-Bahili said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), speaking in the Hajj of Farewell. He said, 'Fear Allah, pray your five prayers, fast your month (of Ramadhan), pay the Zakat on your property and obey your leaders and you will enter Jannah of your Lord." [at-Tirmidhi]

11. Jabir also reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "No Muslim plants something without what is eaten from it being sadaqa for him. Even what is stolen from it is sadaqa for him. And no one visits it without that being sadaqa for him." [Muslim]

12. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "All of my community will enter Jannah except those who refuse." He was asked, "Who are those who refuse, Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Those who obey me will enter Jannah and those who disobey (disregard my sunnah) me refuse." [al-Bukhari]

13. Abu Hurayra, reported that the Prophet, (PBUH), said, "Whoever has done an injustice to his brother with regard to his honour or anything else should seek to be absolved by him before the day when there will be neither dinar nor dirham. If he has right actions, they will be taken from him to counterbalance the injustice he did, and if he does not have any good actions, some of the bad actions of his friend will be taken and he will be made to carry them." [al-Bukhari]

14. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "Anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbour. Anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day should honour his guest. Anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak well or be silent." [Agreed upon]

15. Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "Anyone who desires the expansion of his provision or to have the best of his life prolonged, should maintain ties of kinship (blood-relationship s).'" [Agreed upon]

In a related Hadith, 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr reported: "The Prophet, (PBUH), said, 'A person who maintains ties of kinship is not someone who only does so with those who maintain ties with him. A person who maintains ties of kinship is someone who restores them when they have been cut off.'" [al-Bukhari]

16. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "It is better for one of you to take a rope and carry firewood on his back than for him to go to a man to beg from him who then gives to him or refuses to." [Agreed upon]

17. Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "Which of you loves the property of his heir more than he loves his own property?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, there is none of us who does not love his own property more." He said, "His property is what he sends ahead (i.e. gives in the way of Allah), and the property of his heir is what he keeps back (i.e. the property he will leave if he died tomorrow)." [al-Bukhari]

18. Abu Mas'ud 'Uqba ibn 'Amr al-Ansari al-Badri reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "Anyone who shows the way to something good has the same reward as the person who does it." [Muslim]

In another Hadith, Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "Anyone who calls people to guidance has the same reward as that received by those who follow it, without that decreasing their reward in any way. Anyone who calls people to misguidance, is attributed with wrong actions the same as those who follow it, without that decreasing their wrong actions in any way." [Muslim]

19. On the authority of Sahl bin Saad Al-Saedi, who said : A man came to the prophet and said: "O Messenger of Allah, direct me to an act which, if I do it, [will cause] Allah to love me and people to love me." He said: "Renounce the world (i.e. give-up or control your worldly desires) and Allah will love you; and renounce what people possess (i.e. keep off people's property) and people will love you." [Ibn Majah]

20. Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him), reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The deeds are considered by the intentions, and a person will get the reward according to his intention (i.e. whether to please Allah or fellow men). So whoever emigrated for Allah and His Messenger, his emigration will be for Allah and His Messenger; and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his emigration would be for what he emigrated for".

Abu Mas'ud 'Uqba ibn 'Amr al-Ansari al-Badri reported that the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, "Anyone who shows the way to something good has the same reward as the person who does it." [Muslim]

E.g. if you encourage someone to go for Salah, or pay Zakat and the person actually goes ahead and prays or pays Zakat, Allah will reward him for the good deeds and at the same time give you (the one that encouraged them to do good) an equal reward as he has given them- without decreasing what he gave them.[/b]

Excellence of the Day of Arafah

Arafah, which is the ninth day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, is the greatest day of the entire year. Fasting that day (for those not performing Hajj) is strongly recommended, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us that “Fasting the day of Arafah causes forgiveness of the sins of the previous year and coming year” [Muslim]. I remember reading the story of a lady who reverted to Islam a couple of years ago, and how eager she was to encounter the day on which fasting results in forgiving two whole years.

Another hadith tells us that forgiveness on Arafah is for those who take control of their hearing, sight and tongue. For this reason, it is good to perform i'tikaf (remaining in the mosque) on the day of Arafah. Arafah is also the best day of the year for reading Qur’an.

It is very important to note that there is no day better in the sight of Allah than the Day of `Arafah. On this day Allah descends to the nearest heaven, and He is proud of His slaves on the earth and says to those in heaven, “Look at My servants. They have come from far and near, with hair disheveled and faces covered with dust, to seek My mercy, even though they have not seen My chastisement.”

In this regard, we will cite what Sheikh Sayyed Sabiq states in his well-known book, Fiqh Us-Sunnah:

Jabir reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The ten days of the month of Dhul Hijjah are the best days in the sight of Allah.” A man asked, “Are these days better than an equivalent number of days that are spent fighting for the cause of Allah?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) answered, “They are better than an equivalent number of days spent fighting in the cause of Allah. And there is no day better in the sight of Allah than the Day of `Arafah. On this day Allah, the Almighty and the Exalted One, descends to the nearest heaven, and He is proud of His slaves on the earth and says to those in heaven, ‘Look at My servants. They have come from far and near, with hair disheveled and faces covered with dust, to seek My mercy, even though they have not seen My chastisement. Far more people are freed from the Hellfire on the Day of `Arafah than on any other day. ’” Al-Mundhri said that this hadith was reported by Abu Ya`la, Al-Bazzar, Ibn Khuzaymah, and Ibn Hibban, in whose wording it is given here.

Ibn Al-Mubarak reported from Sufyan Ath-Thawri, from Az-Zubayr ibn `Ali, from Anas ibn Malik that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spent the day at `Arafah until almost sunset. Then he said, “O Bilal, ask the people to be quiet and listen to me.” Bilal stood up and asked the people to be quiet and listen to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the people were quiet, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “O people, a little while ago Gabriel (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me. Gave me salutations from Allah and informed me that Allah has forgiven those who spend the Day at `Arafah and those who stop at Al-Mash`ar Al-Haram, and that He has guaranteed their debts.”

At this `Umar ibn Al-Khattab stood up and asked, “O Allah’s Messenger, is this for us only?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “This is for you and for all those who will come after you until the Day of Judgment.” `Umar exclaimed, “How plentiful and blissful Allah’s bounties are!”

Muslim and others have reported from `A’ishah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Allah frees far more people from Hellfire on the Day of `Arafah than on any other day, and Allah comes closer this day and proudly says to the angels, ‘What do these people want and seek?’”

Abu Ad-Darda reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “On no other day does the Satan feel so belittled, humiliated, and angry as he does on the Day of `Arafah.” The reason for this is the mercy of Allah that descends (this day) and the forgiveness that He grants to people for major sins, except the day of the Battle of Badr, which witnessed a far greater mercy of Allah descending upon people, which caused great sadness to Satan.

Universal Lessons of Hajj

Millions of pilgrims from all over the world will be converging on Mecca in the coming days. They will retrace the footsteps of millions who have made the spiritual journey to the valley of Mecca since the time of Adam.

Hajj literally means, "to continuously strive to reach one's goal." It is the last of the five pillars of Islam (the others include a declaration of faith in one God, five daily prayers, offering regular charity, and fasting during the month of Ramadan). Pilgrimage is a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for those who have the physical and financial ability to undertake the journey.

The Hajj is essentially a re-enactment of the rituals of the great prophets and teachers of faith. Pilgrims symbolically relive the experience of exile and atonement undergone by Adam and Eve after they were expelled from Heaven, wandered the earth, met again and sought forgiveness in the valley of Mecca. They also retrace the frantic footsteps of the wife of Abraham, Hagar, as she ran between the hills of Safa and Marva searching for water for her thirsty baby (which according to Muslim tradition, God answered with the well of Zam Zam). Lastly, the pilgrims also commemorate the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son for the sake of God. God later substituted a ram in place of his son.

Yet, the Hajj is more than these elaborate rituals. The faithful hope that it will bring about a deep spiritual transformation, one that will make him or her a better person. If such a change within does not occur, then the Hajj was merely a physical and material exercise devoid of any spiritual significance.

As all great religions teach, we are more than mere physical creatures in that we possess an essence beyond the material world. Indeed, this is why all great religions have a tradition of pilgrimage. In the Islamic tradition, Hajj encapsulates this spiritual journey toward this essence.

The current state of affairs -- both within and outside the Muslim world -- greatly increases the relevance of some of the spiritual and universal messages inherent in the Hajj.

As Islamic scholar Ebrahim Moosa asks rhetorically: "after paying homage to the two women Eve and Hagar in the rites of pilgrimage, how can some Muslims still violate the rights and dignity of women in the name of Islam? Is this not a contradiction?"

Indeed, the Qur'an teaches: "I shall not lose sight of the labor of any of you who labors in my way, be it man or woman; each of you is equal to the other." (Quran 3:195)

Clearly, the white sea of men and women side by side performing tawaf (circling) around the Kaaba (the stone building Muslims believe was originally built by Adam and rebuilt by Abraham and his son Ishmael) should lay to rest any claim that Islam -- as opposed to some Muslims -- degrades women.

The fact that millions of Muslims transcending geographical, linguistic, level of practice, cultural, ethnic, color, economic and social barriers converge in unison on Mecca, attests to the universality of the Hajj. It plants the seed to celebrate the diversity of our common humanity. Pilgrims return home enriched by this more pluralistic and holistic outlook and with a new appreciation for their own origins.

One of the most celebrated Western Hajjis (one who has completed the Hajj) is none other than African-American civil rights leader El-Hajj Malik El Shabbaz, more commonly known as Malcolm X. The man who was renowned for preaching that whites were "devils" -- especially the blond, blue-eyed ones -- profoundly reassessed these views during the Hajj. This transformation, of course, sealed his break with the Black nationalist movement of the Nation of Islam.

Contrary to the teachings of the Nation, he concluded that Islam encompassed all of humanity and transcended race and culture. Malcolm X later said, "In my 39 years on this Earth, the holy city of Mecca had been the first time I had ever stood before the Creator of all and felt like a complete human."

In Mecca, he discovered himself mixing with, "fellow Muslims, whose eyes were the bluest of blue, whose hair was the blondest of blond, and whose skin was whitest of white." Malcolm X was so inspired by what he witnessed, that, in letters to friends and relatives, he wrote, "America needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion that erases from its society the race problem."

Upon returning to America, he embarked on a mission to enlighten both blacks and whites with his new views. Malcolm X understood that in order to truly learn from the Hajj, its inherent spiritual lessons must extend beyond the fraternal ties of Muslims to forging a common humanity with others.

In fact, as part of the spiritual experience, the pilgrimage links people across religions through a past shared by several Abrahamic traditions. This combined with the Islamic teaching of the common origin of humanity holds out much hope. Indeed, the Qur'an teaches: "We created you from a single pair of a male and female (Adam and Eve), and made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other and not that you might despise each other. The most honored of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you" (Quran 49:13). This is a great celebration of the differences and at the same time unity of all of humanity.

Another essential spiritual message of the Hajj is one of humility to God and His supremacy and control over all that we know. The multitude of people and their inner beliefs and practices are all to be judged by God and God alone in His infinite wisdom and full knowledge. Indeed, as the Qur'an insists, "Let there be no compulsion in matters of faith, truth stands out clear from error." (Quran 2:256)

The result of a successful Hajj is a rich inner peace, which is manifested outwardly in the values of justice, honesty, respect, generosity, kindness, forgiveness, mercy and empathy. And it is these values all attributes of God almighty -- that are indispensable to us all if we are just to get along in this world.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HAJJ

Every year between the 8th and the 13th of dhul Hujjah, Muslims from all over the world, gather in the holy city of Makkah for Hajj. Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. It is a visit to the Ka’ba, the house of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. The Ka’ba is a cube-like building that was built by Hadrat Adam Alayhissalam. During the battles that took place over time, the Ka’ba was damaged. Hadrat Ibrahim Alayhissalam and his son Hadrat Ismail Alayhissalam then rebuilt the Ka’ba and restored its dignity. The Ka’ba is the oldest House and was built for the purpose of worshipping Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.

It is Fardh for every Muslim to make at least one journey in their lifetime to Makkah for Hajj if they can afford it. Going on Hajj consists of many memorable events. Performing Hajj brings us closer to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. It brings thawaab (rewards) and is a memorable experience that teaches us many valuable lessons in Islam.

The teachings of Hajj are very significant to a Muslim’s daily life. During Hajj, we learn to pray salah five times a day and stay clean and pure at all times. Praying salah is mandatory during the period of Hajj as well as throughout one’s life. Praying salah near the Ka’ba rewards a Muslim more then 100,000 times the thawaab of praying one salah anywhere else in the world.

Sacrificing a lamb or goat during Hajj teaches us to share and to give to the poor. It teaches us generosity, kindness, and the ability to share with others less fortunate. In Mina, when we throw pebbles at the three pillars representing shaitaan, we learn that we should be truthful and clean and live a life free of sins. We learn to disobey the shaitaan’s evil ways and stand against him.

Apart from kindness and generosity, Hajj teaches us that Allah has blessed us greatly. The water from Zam Zam is a special gift from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to Muslims till the Day of Judgement. It is that anyone who drinks the water from Zam Zam will be granted shifa’a from all the illnesses and diseases. Making dua at Arafaat is also a blessing. All duas are answered and all wishes are made true.

This pilgrimage helps us learn the history of Islam and see how it has been held up over the past centuries. We should remember the work of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. We should learn the patience and the sacrifices made by our Prophet at this very time and place many centuries ago. The gathering of Muslims all around the world helps us to remember that we are all Muslims and worshippers of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and that we are all brothers and sisters in Islam. We learn the different nations. We see that Muslims are not joined together on the basis of color or race. They are joined together on the basis of Islam-the way of faith and right action. The pilgrimage brings Muslims of all countries, colors, and races to one place-the Ka’ba. This strengthens the spirit of unity, equality and brotherhood. These are the values on which Islam builds the human society and it will continue this way till the Day of Judgement.

How Can the Muslim Discipline One's Self?

Acknowledging your shortcomings is one of the first steps in disciplining yourself. Whoever acknowledges that he has shortcomings has started on the path to self-discipline. This acknowledgement is one of the things that make us discipline ourselves and be persistent in doing so. This acknowledgement should not put you off disciplining yourself. It is a sign of Allah’s care when a person tries to change himself and develop, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Verily, Allaah will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not change their state themselves” [al-Ra’d 13:11]

So whoever tries to change for the sake of Allah, Allah will help him to change. Each person is individually responsible for his own self, and will be questioned individually, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious (Allaah) as a slave. Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting. And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender)” *[Maryam 19:93-95]

Man cannot benefit from what he has been told about goodness unless he himself takes an interest in that. Do you not know the story of the wife of Nooh and the wife of Loot, who were members of the households of two Prophets, one of whom was one of the Messengers of strong will? Imagine how these Prophets strove to guide their wives and how much guidance these wives received, but there was no interest on their part, so it was said to both of them:

“Enter the Fire along with those who enter!”
*[al-Tahreem 66:10 – interpretation of the meaning]

Whereas the wife of Pharaoh – even though she was a member of the household of one of the greatest evildoers – is presented by Allah as an example to those who believe because she disciplined herself. The ways in which a Muslim can discipline himself are as follows:

1- Worshipping Allah, keeping in contact with Him and submitting to Him. That is done by paying attention to doing obligatory acts of worship well, and cleansing your heart of any attachment to anything other than Allah.

2- Reading Qur’aan a great deal, pondering its meanings and seeking to understand it.

3- Reading useful religious books that describe the ways of treating and cleansing the heart, reading the biographies of the salaf and learning about their attitude and behavior.

4- Attending educational programs such as classes and lectures.

5- Making good use of your time and using it to do things that will be of benefit in both worldly and spiritual terms

6- Keeping company with righteous people and looking for righteous companions, who can help you to do good. Those who live alone will miss out on a lot of the characteristics of a good brother such as preferring others to oneself and being patient.

7- Trying to act on what you learn and put it into practice.

8- Checking closely on yourself.

9- Having confidence in yourself – whilst relying on Allah – because the one who has no confidence cannot act.

10- Despising yourself for not doing enough for the sake of Allah. This does not contradict the things mentioned above. Man has to strive hard whilst still thinking that his efforts are not enough.

11- Practising withdrawal or isolation as prescribed in sharee’ah. You should not mix with people all the time, rather you must have some time which you spend alone, in worship as prescribed in Islam.

We ask Allah to help us to discipline ourselves and submit to that which Allah loves and is pleased with.

allah says you're going to hell anyway. Start practicing your high jump skills . . . Q 19:71-72. Cant believe you've never come across it.

Do not try tobrig that here because Adebowale, Muhsin, other muslims as well as myself dealt extensively on this in many threads then. Dont you have better things to do than recycling old discussion?

Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 76, Number 577 - “Then Allah will come to then in a shape they know and will say, ‘I am your Lord.' They will say, '(No doubt) You are our Lord,' and they will follow Him. Then a bridge will be laid over the (Hell) Fire.” Allah's Apostle added, “I will be the first to cross it. And the invocation of the Apostles on that Day, will be, ‘Allahukka Sallim, Sallim (O Allah, save us, save us!),’ and over that bridge there will be hooks similar to the thorns of As Sa'dan (a thorny tree). Didn't you see the thorns of As-Sa'dan?” The companions said, “Yes, O Allah's Apostle.” He added, “So the hooks over that bridge will be like the thorns of As-Sa’dan except that their greatness in size is only known to Allah. These hooks will snatch the people according to their deeds. Some people will be ruined because of their evil deeds, and some will be cut into pieces and fall down in Hell, but will be saved afterwards, when Allah has finished the judgments among His slaves, and intends to take out of the Fire whoever He wishes to take out from among those who used to testify that none had the right to be worshipped but Allah. . .

Dude, you can do better than this.Seek for understanding and do not come to try to put wool over people's eyes here. You have lots to learn about your religion.

@DoPizzaro

During my NYSC days, I had a lady friend who gave me the qorran to read in hope of converting me to Islam so we could have the chance to be married.
Out of curiosity and the fact that christians don't even bother to look at the book ,i obliged.

I read the first book and the second book of the qorran and got tired.
it was then I appreciated the originality and the life of God inherent in the Bible.

qorran is simply neither original nor spiritual.the chapters i read were filled with statements of hatred and disdain for the christians and the jews.

it sounds more like a book of morals which is written to counter christainity.

it is obviously not a revelation but a book to build the mind of followers to hate all non muslims.

it is a book that encouraged fighters to lay down their live for Islam. if they live through battles, there will be gains(booty) for them but if they perish, there will be
virgins and drinks in their heaven.

Heaven is for spirits, will there be flesh in heaven needing sex and alcohol?or will there be procreation?
Today we can see that islam is a nightmare and Christianity is of peace.

LOOK AT THESE COMPARISM
1. All the information in the Bible never existed any where before it was given to various prophets while in the qorran ,the information in the bible where repeated, copied and paraprahsed

2. The information in the bible was given to over 30 people spanning different ages but the quorran was written by just a man.

3, The Bible was written through a period of over 4000 years, the qourran was written in less the ten years.

4.All the prophets of the Bible are jews(descendant of Abraham) and the books were revealed and written by them But mohammed claimed to be prophet(an Arabian) not connected to father Abraham biologically.

Mohammed is not a descendant of ismael. He only exploited the fact that the bible did not continue the story of Ishmael.

When i asked my friend that ,it would be good for her to come to believe in jesus as the Son of the living God who died took away the sins of the world.
She said "it is not because she does not want to but that her father would kill her if she becomes a Christian"

Welcome newbie. I can tell you recently started supporting Arsenal. He always says that for your info. Always next season.

Far from that Dude. I do not need to tell you when I have been supporting and I am sure it would have been before you were born (no disrespect). Go read his input in previous seasons and you would see that he was never this serious. Though it may not be as you are expecting but there would definitely be changes. Assuming fans have been demonstrating like this all these while, there would have been great changes. But just like you said, let us keep our fingers crossed till next season.

AW is still the best coach for Arsenal. He tried proving a point with the use of those kids but unfortunately, they could not proof anything and it seems he has given them enough time to change and there would be a massive overhaul this summer and would affect mostly the under-performing players.

I also read yesterday where AW said that this summer would be the busiest as players would be going out and some coming in. He said he would buy players this summer as this late May and early June would be very busy. It seems AW is fed himself and needs a change. I know that an official statement would be made very soon on the purchase of a 23 year old argentine forward. Let us all be praying for a better 2011-2012 session with the believe that he would live up to his words.

Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (May Allah bepleased with him) said: When Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and I were in the cave of Thaur and I saw the feet of the polytheists who were above us at the mouth of the cave (on the eve of the Emigration), I submitted: “O Messenger of Allah! If one of them were to look down below his feet, he would see us“. He (PBUH) said, “O Abu Bakr! What do you think of two whose third is Allah“.
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: This incident occurred when the Prophet (PBUH) was emigrating from Makkah to Al- Madinah with Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (May Allah be pleased with him) The disbelievers had announced a huge reward for their arrest for which people were searching them wildly. Proper use of the Gift of Speech

"The Most Compassionate, He provided knowledge of the Qur'an; He Created Humankind; He provided human beings with the ability to communicate." Qur'an 55:1-4

"Whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day let such a person speak good or remain silent." Prophet Muhammad

Communication

* Human beings are social by nature and interact through communication.
* Communication is a process that involves sharing ideas, opinions, perspectives and feelings with other people.

* The manner and content of communication often indicates beliefs, inclinations, attitudes and character.

* The most common method of communication among human beings is speaking or verbal communication.

Islamic teachings demand that when we speak we should:

* Control our tongues
"It is obligatory upon you to control your tongue"

Also remember
"Whosoever speaks much is more prone to err."

It is no wonder that the Prophet Muhammad , when asked about acts loved by Allah, he responded:
"Control of the tongue."
"Silence is wisdom, yet few practice it."

* Employ speech only for good purpose
"Whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let such a person speak good or remain silent."
"Do not say anything except good"
Think before speaking
Wise are the words of the one who said:
"Think before speaking so that you safeguard yourself from problems."
It is important to engage one's brain before engaging one's mouth. Remember that good old prayer:
"O Lord! Grant me the ability to keep my mouth shut until I know what I am talking about."

* Be truthful
"Truthfulness is obligatory upon you for surely truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to paradise"
One of the signs of a hypocrite is " the tendency to lie when speaking."

* Avoid vain talk
The Qur'an refers to those who truly believe as those who avoid vain and nonsensical talk
"(Believers) are they who avoid vain talk" (Qur'an 22:3)
"They pass by nonsensical talk with honorable avoidance."

* Have our facts straight
Do not speak of that which you have no knowledge (Qur'an 7:33) and verify facts before speaking (Qur'an 49: 6) and do not pass on everything you hear
"Surely, Allah dislikes your communicating everything you hear from one person to another"

* Exercise Propriety
Though we should speak the truth even if it is bitter, we should never be vulgar in the content or the manner of our speech
"The Believer does not taunt nor a curse, neither is he indecent nor abusive."
