Depends of what you can lacklustre. UACN, Regency and a couple others had some gigantic deals

Access & UBA closed with gains of 25 & 50 Kobo respectively. Even Oando add 5 kobo gain.
Next week and rest of the month will likely remain positive. With December closing in Gains.
Noticed ETI gained a wooping 185 Kobo this same Friday shocked.
It doesn't want Access and UBA leave it behind grin

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: 5 SHAREHOLDERS APPLY TO FED. HIGH COURT TO SET ASIDE ORDER TO DELIST OANDO
I just read that some 5 shareholders have applied to the Federal High Court to set aside the order granting OODP the the right to acquire minority shareholdings in OANDO PLC.

This could mean a new twist in the whole case.

If this slips out to the market, the price will stop falling again.

Its already on full offer.
When a bid of 23.85 being the lowest that is permitted is placed, it gets cleared immediately.

As of this moment, nobody wants to buy it above the lowest price for today

Looks like strategic mopping of FBNH is still on. The buyers are currently buying patiently in small bid tranches or picking offers up as they show instead of showing the bids. With a tactic of pulling down the price till another aggressive buying ops come up when the bullion van is fully reloaded.

As the fearful sell, smart and savvy investors are eagerly accumulating Oando shares. Abeg, let the feeble minded exit so that the lion hearts can anchor firmly. Oando will surely awake folks and make us proud. Just remember: Thou shall seek it but shall not find it!

if it doesn't delist post 2022 & 2023 results at N7.07, It will always be available at higher prices. That is remember: Thou shall not find it at bargain hunter prices wink

Don't you think all these are strategies to return oando to 7.07 price.

May be a strategy to drop price by some in the know of probable outcome so as to buy more at bargain prizes.

It's a puzzle and a pure betting exercise to me. My bet is the company will not be delisted

I have no prophesy right now on what will happen.

I have both pro and con thoughts. Wale also said it may happen it may not happen.

If the company wants to delist it will just issue extremely bad results all the way. But results released so far were mixed. We don't know what 2022 and 2023 that they have approved auditors for, will be like.

Let the price go further down.

Indeed. If the price comes further down, it's time to buy more.

At this rate (following CBN recapitalization vision for $1T economy) current FBNH rights issue may be canceled and replaced with a fresh one at a higher price like N25 or more in a year or two.

With FBNH closing at N26.75 today, with very heavy momentum. The earlier planned rights is looking obsolete. A new price like + N30 may be the plan for the rights. A price closer to book value.

Low PE might be due to zero growth, below average return.

The dividend yield plus earning growth should give a total return that will give at least 25% premium over a risk free FGN bonds.

A typical Nigerian stock should a Return on Capital Employed of over 20%

The low PE's in many cases were caused by earnings growing faster than price appreciation over the last 5 to 10 years.

To me the market is still well under price because of naira depreciation and inflation rate in the country. The market is bound to catch up.When you sell most shares in the market at present price and visit other market you go understand better. Try the cash on building/construction materials you will know the reality

All what we are discussing, explain why Naira bonds even at current high yields don't look so attractive to a stockmarket bargain hunter. When there are many stocks with low PE's. Also a strong reason why the market will not go down despite high bond yields. People waiting for the market to go down will likely be disappointed as it's not worth cashing out anyhow on stocks at current prices.

This does not apply in many sectors. I will say pe of 10 or less is very reasonable

That means the markert is currently full of bargains. Or in other words currently under-priced as many stocks have a PE less than 10

0.12 is for a quarter….use best quarter as earlier discussed on the premise that growth stocks are meant to grow
4 quarters = 1 year =0.48
X4 of the estimate FY i.e 0.48 =1.92

This in other words is simply a PE of 4 or less is a good entry point for a target growth stock.

I take full resposibiliies.
Ejooo

If you are not averse to risk, OANDO. That's what I will be buying, because to me it has higher probability of upside than that of downside. And the downside risk has a floor of N7.

Many banks still look good even though they have gained a lot this year. There is a very high likelihood they will continue gaining if there are no local or global disruptions. Top picks for me are UBA, FCMB & ZENITH.

NB: No one can predict local or global disruptions with a certainty. So there are risks of capital loss involved in stock investment. Not a good idea to invest money one will need within a year or two in the market.

May the Tinubull run you talked about, be the story for November grin.

November finished strong with the index gaining and many portfolios gaining 5%, 10% and even more in November.

December gains looks likely with the banks trying to outbeat each other in recovery from under-valuation.

One of the most solid banks that is undervalued, but NSEMPA investors would rather chase.... grin grin grin

They are even using an exchange rate of $1 - NGN582

grin

Look carefully shocked shocked shocked
The exchange rate used for income statement is 582 But that used for statement of financial position is 776

Looked at prior years too I can see they used different translation rates for the income statement and statement of financial position but the gap was not as wide as the rates for this Q3 report. And these are audited reports. Why are they using multiple translation rates Perhaps due to mix of several currencies, the face value report rates come out differently for the various statements.

On valuation basis ETI is not that relatively under-valued in comparison to Nigerian banks. It's just in the middle of the pack of valuations of Nigerian banks.

Should I sell or wait going on in peoples mind

No much supply and no much demand.

Different people have different target prices for it on the sell and buy side. Overall the market price trend seem to be creeping up small small. Perhaps till a major pronouncement is made. It will be nice to know if those linked to management are secretly mopping it up.

Oando has a risk - reward profile that is very attractive to risk taking bargain hunters. I guess this is one of the reasons the trade volumes has been high this year especially in the last 3 months thereabouts.

Should the price drop below N11 I will look for a stock to sell so that I can buy more Oando.

Since the last AGM approved the Auditors for 2022 & 2023, the 2022 may come late. Perhaps in Q1 next year. Or 2022 & 2023 may come out together in 2024 Q1 or latest Q2.

Funny how you think something of 2021 will still be prevalent in 2023 or even 2024......and funny how you think the remaining minority shareholders will agree to 7.07 with the level of inflation from 2021 till date...

Read the OANDO FAQ very well and try to put two dots together....

Part of the excerpt reads that "if the remaining minority shareholders agree to it".
Now tell me how the remaining shareholders will agree to 7.07 when the market value as at yesterday is reading 11+.......and more importantly, when majority of them bought above 20 self...

Dividends for banks generally will likely rise next year to support growing share prices. The recapitalization must be done at fair values close to book values or even more than book values for banks like GT.

I noticed StanbicIBTC stockbrokers have raised their TP for GTCO and Zenith to N60 and N50 respectively for quite a while.

Pray so that the judge, SEC, Wale and other stakeholders would do the right thing to favour shareholders.
At this moment, this Oando matter is not only about knowledge and information. The antics, whims, caprices, mischief, sentiments, emotions, biases of so many people are involved.
After the court judgement is come and gone, then we can go back to knowledge and information analyses
What God cannot do does not exist!

Praying is in order !!!

Even in court, they use the word pray. Also in local general meetings (AGMs inclusive) they pray at beginning and at end.

May the court answer our prayers tomorrow.

The best answer will be to strike off the whole buy out thing. And instruct minority shareholders that elect to sell to do so in the market as OANDO is one of the most actively traded stocks on the exchange. As one of the key purpose of the exchange is the disposal and buying of shares of PLCs.
Buy out case struck off and closed.

I agree stocks like UBA still have over 15% upside, Zenith tp is about N41 and then you still get your dividends but UBA will struggle to replicate the excellent EPS for Q2 2023 in 2024. A correction will follow a decline in revenue for some banks by mid 2024 while other companies will have the potential to support the bulls in the 2nd half of 2023.
I belief backward integration by IB should have started to mature, WAPCO, MTN and others will make investors smile by then.

If only we can have a predictable and stable FX regime, to allow more dollar inflow, the NSE will stay bullish into 2025.
Retail investors participation in the exchange is improving as seen in penny stock rallies recently, though with a lot of uninformed purchases grin

Do you think the revenues of banks in 2024 will be lower than that of 2022. Because that is what needs to be compared, as 2023 forex gains lies more in comprehensive income and should not be used for operating EPS and PE calculations as they are one off from currency translation gains in Naira. 2024 EPS will still be substantially higher that 2022 levels, hence supporting upward trend of bank share prices apart from the support of stepped up BVPS numbers from the 2023 gains.

Following Cardoso's speech at CIBN yesterday. The driver for the recapitalization is the $1T GDP target for Nigeria in the next 7 years. A need for banks to be adequately sized to serve such an economy. My take from the speech is he will follow a guided process focused strictly on KPI's and delivery of some level of stability perhaps over the next one year. A true headmaster. (Cardoso was nicknamed headmaster during BAT's tenure as Governor grin. There will most likely be strict meticulous order if that nickname is to ring true in his tenure at CBN)

My take : all banks will be close to some reasonable fair values before recapitalization in a year or two's time. For example, Zenith at +N45.

While he was away for 2 days the price dropped to N19 shocked

Is a withdrawal tactics possible to drop prices for a strategic accumulator so that accumulation prices will not go up unduly while also pulling more into the drag net. Like Danfo that is always doing as if it is moving and about to move yet it remains about the same spot. But Customstreet himself had cautioned on Oando in the past, saying that the buyout offer price N7.07 would likely be the eventual delisting price!
But it would be good if he now has positive intelligence about what would likely happen in Oando.

Wale spoilt what he said and readings from his body language (which looked to me like, relax, we have restored the company and paying Naira dividends will be a piece of cake soon as we earn $$$$$$s) with "it may happen it may not happen" comment he made.
