The reason I can agree that Naija is a failed stated is because if you listen to the young ones and their dreams, you will see clearly where Naija is going. The state of that country is not in things you see, it is in the minds of the people. I asked my cousin's son who is 11 years old what will he contribute for Naija in the future. He said if he has the opportunity to be in a public office he will chop all the money.
These chop and quench situation is still the future of naija.

For those of you that want to start business. Be warned naija is not the place, they will ruin you. Money reveal the true nature of people. Everytime I jump on the plane to Naija on my todo list there is always someone to fire. they just don't think,

@TemmyTanny is bragging of selling properties now. How much have you sold in the last 1 year. I may need your service to sell some of my empty designer bottles check here for details https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-296883.0.html

But before I can give you the contract to sell these bottles I will need your CV,a good proof of your sales in the last 1 year and letter from 3 sponsors stating that you will not run away with my money. As I don't trust you.

@Tkb417 you can join if you are interested as well. Before I can sign you, you must produce a certificate that states clearly that you are educated.

Business / Re: Perfume Bottles by BAC: 5:55pm On Jul 19, 2009
You guys in Naija must buy these bottles. All i need is to do is sell it another way. Ok listen guys: If you pour water into these bottles it will turn into perfume, and if you need proof read 1kings 4:3. My pastor has just told me. He is a good prophet.

No jokes. My pastor is the best in London, in the past while other pastors are saying miracle has ceased. He turned water into wine, shocked

temmytanny:

@mauri

from what you said,i truly believe you have a house(s) in 9ja and i really pity you the way  ur tenants maltreated you.this is the reason why i said the law should benefit both parties(landlords and tenants)and i think the defaulter should be dealt with SERIOUSLY

@BAC
you just come here to brag,i dont think you have shi shi in 9ja.you must be one of the squarters in UK cos from all the comments you have made here, "YOU OWN NOTHING".

PEOPLE LIKE YOU DONT WANT 9JA TO FORWARD FORWARD.

who told you I am bragging. What do we all have that was not given to us? we all came here empty and we are all going empty. But while we are here there are a lot of lessons to learn, life don't play favourites. How can you have when you find it impossible to celebrate those that have? I have come across people like you too many times, it used to bother me, but for the past few years it does no more, i have come to realise that when the poor open their jaws you can't  expect anything much but jealousy,  they bit the hands of those that have the ability to feed them.

if I where you I will open my eyes and ears and learn, so don't take that as an offence, take it as gospel according to BAC.   If I have properties or not does it matter? But if i have a lot of properties how does it make you feel?

I say all these with a heart of love. If you want to own your own property in Nigeria let me know i may be able to connect you with the right direction. But if not keep paying your rent please, cool

appetitto:

You Briticos are funny. Importing empty bottles to sell in Naija at N250.
Shame on you.
Empty bottles of what ever size go for about N10. If you want more empty bottles I will send to you.
Pls take the bottles to the metro and dispose of them gradually.
Next time think of something that can add value to this country

Are u saying u naija people can't afford it, why not just say so. These are original empty bottles and they are coming on a BA flight, Heathrow terminal 5 direct to lagos , they are not Ikeja under bridge bottles.

Any take in the house. No bargain please, these bottles are coming on a BA flight direct to naija not Virgin Nigeria.

Properties / Re: Lagos Lawmakers Disagree Over Tenancy Bill by BAC: 6:24pm On Jul 16, 2009
One of the reason why God gave you one mouth and 2 ears is so that you can listen more and talk less. Some people here choose to talk foul about the rich. I wonder how they can ever be rich. And some of these guys think those of us living abroad live poor. Sorry oo, I can never be poor. I own everything I have in london and Naija out right, my days of tenant in London has been over for the past 15 years and I have stopped doing business with Banks here for over 3 years now. That is with all humbility.

I don't know who has spoken to you guys that you cannot build a house, if that is what you believe you are whipped before you even start. If you are humble enough to listen to those that have money, you will end up having it. But if you sit there and critic the rich, how do you expect to be rich.

And that you are in London does not mean you can make it here. If your maker did not send you here, you will suffer ooo. Money goes to where it can appreciate, not to critics that don't know the law of money. To all my agents in Lagos, collect my money complete or else I sack you.
Business / Re: Perfume Bottles by BAC: 6:03pm On Jul 16, 2009
You guys don't understand. Do you know how much it will cost me to fly BA from London to Naija with these empty bottles? When the customs open my luggage and find a lot of bottles they know what i am up to so they take thier own share. N250 per bottle no more no less
Business / Re: Frustrations Of A Business Owner In Nigeria by BAC: 3:34pm On Jul 15, 2009
For those of you abroad thinking that Nigeria is a place to start business. You must be joking. Most nigerians are not out to work, they are out to steal. That is the reason why I cannot expand my business in Nigeria everytime i try to Staff issue is a nightmare. And they say there are no Job. They are not really looking for work all the want is to steal.

To protect my customers i rather not grow the business. The best place to put your money in naija is real estate, even if they steal from you , you know it is not all gone, your house will still be standing for years to come.
Business / Perfume Bottles by BAC: 3:23pm On Jul 15, 2009
I am based in the Uk. I have loads of empty perfume bottles in my loft. I have been keeping the bottles for the past few years now, different men brands. My local council in London are talking about environmental friendliness, I consider that non-sense. After charging me a lot of money in council tax they want my bottles for free.

An idea came into my mind, why can't I sell to Nigerian willing to use it ( not that I support fake products but my bottle must go and not to my local council)

I can fly them all to lagos. N250 per bottle whole last price ( subject to exchange rate fluctuations), if you are interested let me know. 42 bottles should be able to pay for a meal with friends at tastes.

BAC, your comment on this.

Don't forget most of those law makers are landlords,  My advise to tenant is go build your own, and if you can't at  the moment keep believing God.

Lagos tenants are trouble makers, no one wants to pay for anything in naija the risk of not getting paid your rent is too high.
Business / Re: What Sells In Nigeria These Days? by BAC: 4:22pm On Jun 26, 2009
Don't waste your money. Take your money to naija and buy land. Leave it there and let it appreciate.

when it comes to business naija is full of bad people. They will frustrate you, trust me
Business / Re: How Much Did You Exchange The Dollar For Today? by BAC: 4:13pm On Jun 26, 2009
To those sending money home through Moneygram or Western Union. Just to let you know that Nigerian Banks are thieves.

I send $2067.00 to Naija yesterday through Moneygram. I asked them to pay in dollars so that the money can be collected and changed at the black market to avoid moneygram giving me naira at official exchange rate.

When my family got to the bank they said they can only pay in $100 demonimations. So they had to pay $67 in Naira at the official exchange rate, I was also told there are a lot of people queuing there having the same problems. When would we stop thieving in that country.

My dear Tenants. We landLord are very sorry oooo. Cement cost too much, Iron rod, Made in Nigeria Sand is even costly, C of O, Survey etc, Omo - onile show us pepper too, When the mega city project is achieved you guys have to leave lagos ooo.

Not the landlords be problem na Government. And forget about prices going down. I suggest if you have the opportunity, just build. Anything will do, Even if it is only land in a remote location you can afford just try something,
Lagos will become one of the most expensive cities in Africa,
Properties / Re: Advanced Rents Banned In Lagos: by BAC: 2:04pm On Jun 17, 2009
For the information of all tenants on this board. I have asked my lawyer to increase rent on all my properties by 25% with immediate effect, this applies to all contract due from next month, due to this new law. Either that law is passed or not. Who cares. Let them go and build for them self. I hope you all know that fashola is taxing on rental income, althought some landlords don't pay.

Sorry to you all, if you want to live in a mega city you have to pay mega money. And these are still early days, as soon as the mega city vision is accomplished we will send all unhappy tenants to their respective villages

Case closed angry

Properties / Re: Advanced Rents Banned In Lagos: by BAC: 3:48pm On Jun 09, 2009
This can't work. Why?

1, LandLords will not rent out if advance money is not paid.
2, How would government enforce this one?
3, No one is talking about tenants that don't want to pay. The reason why landlord are asking for money upfront is because people in Naija don't want to pay for anything
4, If you want to rent my property and i ask for advance of 2 years, will you then take me to court? or look else where?
Before you even pull a court case I have already decided that I am not renting to you.
5, What happens if tenant decides to take someone to court because they want to forcibly rent their property.

And apart from all these there are other ways round that law. I will not put anything in writing until i know you are ready to pay for 2 years. And even after you have paid for 2 year I will not give you a contract. So what will the court do. Where is the evidence?
As long as this is a seller's market LandLord is KING

Please tenants don't take this as offence,  it is very costly to be a landlord, and it may be a blessing in disguise to build one for yourself.
And poster please don't forget this is not government house. It should be left as a free market. But I don't support heartless land lord thou

Nimshi:

USD sold at N180.50 in the Ikeja axis yesterday; this most probably isn't a best price, but all generally below N181.

BAC: of course, N179 isn't far off, but with oil marketers getting back on importation, the naira should fall some.

No definite price for today, but one shouldn't be negotiating for less than N181.

Just to add: the Bureaux de Change rates aren't far off, but slightly lower.

Cheers.

Thanks for your view. This place was getting too quiet and those of us abroad need these info regularly.
Business / Re: How Much Did You Exchange The Dollar For Today? by BAC: 10:42am On May 21, 2009
I made a call to Yusuf from the UK as people in Naija are not forth coming on the exchange rates.

To sell :

£ = 272
$ = 179
