@ Joo chet,
Music mustnt be gospel or religious before i would make sense. Preaching or teaching morals in a religious form is different from making sense, gospel music mostly does the former, any kind of music could make sense,ok

Tribune is a reputable national daily that knows the dire consequences of false and/or libelous reportage, besides Tu or those around him, can't say they never saw that report. If it isn't true then, it's his fault cos he is sleeping on his right.
Music/Radio / Re: Tuface Booed In The United States - Keke Says He Is On His Own: by Baro(m): 11:31pm On Jan 13, 2008
@ Eleshin,
Please don't be childish,where did you see the beef in my post? i simply posted a topic with a reliable link(not gossips). My intention for starting this thread is to tell our artistes to go learn how to perform with live band, and off course to get the views of Nairalanders on this. We are tired of MIMING,fed up of; "DJ play track 5, DJ track 2", that's what just happened to 2face. Our naija acts are so used to miming, that they now got a phobia for live perfomance, they think perfoming is miming;vice versa.

This all about building Naija music industry to international status, forget about our artiste preferences open your mind bro.

Here is a quote from the source
"By the time he started his second number, I can’t remember the track now, they started throwing, pop-corns packs and rotten eggs at him, booing him. “They didn’t even want to hear him sing “African Queen” before the fans asked for refund. We paid back all the fans, close to 1,000 of them"

Music/Radio / Re: Music Awards In Nigeria:have You Noticed These Mistakes? by Baro(m): 12:31pm On Jan 11, 2008
In the maiden edition of the Hiphopworld Awards, there was a category won by Tuface called; "Special recogniton Award"when it was a known fact that Tu had no new work then, so what was that award for? Yep, i have the answer, the category was created to pay homage to some industry bigwigs.

It would interest you that the said award category never featured in the second edition, comfirming the suspicion that it was doled out for "selfish reasons". Why would an award category be created for just an artiste?  Isn't there supposed to be standard defined categories for awards?
Music/Radio / Re: Music Awards In Nigeria:have You Noticed These Mistakes? by Baro(m): 1:45am On Jan 11, 2008
@Sect,
That's even pardonable, how about Obiwon winning "Voice of the Decade award" ? that was the biggest joke of the decade. When did Obiwon come to limelight? how many Nigerians know that Obiwon even sings, how many copies has Obiwon's Albums sold, how many shows has he headlined? But just because Efe Freak Omorogbe(Obiwon's Manager) was very involved in the Awards, he gets a slot for his boy. Voice of the Decade nor too small? what of Voice of the Millineium, tongue Rubbish!!

Sometime last year it was reported in a Nigerian daily that in one award held in London, Daddy Showkey was nominated in the same category with African China, guess what Showkey said when he was asked to comment, he asked for which song he was being nominated,cos he knew he hasn't released any album for quite a long time. He went on to chide the organizers by saying that if they wanted him to grace their award ceremony with his presence they should simply invite him, instead of using nomination to achieve that

P.S
This is not to take anything away from Obiwon, he is very talented, and am a fan of his "Onyinye" , but crowning him the voice of the decade is wearing him is father's shoe. If i were him i would reject that curse awardvery anticlimatic for him
Music/Radio / Re: FAZE "Independent" OR 2FACE "Grass 2 Grace" by Baro(m): 8:15pm On Jan 10, 2008
@Me Tu,

Sorry to dissappoint you, even though you have consciously tried never to, but this isn't the first time you tu(Pun intended & achieved) would be disgreeing. Remember Eleshin insisted Faze "lied" even after Akon turned around to clear the air, but you differed and  followed the path of reason like you sometimes do when you momentarily forget you have to support Mr Tu by all means  tongue
@Me Tu,

I never retrain myself from disagreeing with anyone, anywhere anyday; Faze or Tuface fans. wont compromise facts for camraderie,never!!

Anyway, you guys could disregard my post, and go ahead to celebrate your "First moment of disagreement" lipsrsealed

@ Sammy Word wink

I think the young man just disclosed it to the media the way it was; i.e that he was co-signing wth Akon and the world should expect an album by the end of 20082008 just started. What he didn't know was that there were some peeps(dont ask me who they are) somewhere who weren't comfortable with his fast growing and unprecendented monumental success. Soon these peeps heard it, soon they swung into action, and this is the outcome:Controversy

There is an adage in my tribe that translates:"A child only succeeds in the secret"haters wud bring u down in the open

Guess Faze is wiser
Music/Radio / Re: Keke Ogungbe: Of Kennis Music And Primetime Africa Fame by Baro(m): 9:01pm On Jan 08, 2008
Sound Sultan is more talented than Olu and Tu Face, Keke just wont hype Sultan cos he wont sign a milk-and-make-me-famous contract. The like of Slam, Paul Play etal. once suffered same fate.

I respect Keke and Co for being dogged ,foresighted and successful pioneers, but that doesnt make them more than mediocres tongue

for me i only read about the meeting in ghana where akon introduce faze on hiphopworldmagazine website,but the other two interview i watched them on TV.

Dont get it, are you saying Akon and Faze didn't meet in Ghana as reported by HiphopworldMagazine website;the official website of Hip Tv(Same Station that reported Akon's denial or Faze) just because you didnt watch it on Tv? Even when Akon was quoted?
Goodluck then Thomas Eleshin.  cool

Music/Radio / Re: "i'm Thinking Of Signing Faze And 2face"-akon Say So. by Baro(m): 7:09pm On Jan 04, 2008
sect:

i want you to take a critical look at these statements credited to akon as regards the deal. First he said ''I just want to let y'all know that my man, faze, a singer out of Nigeria has just been CO-SIGNED to KONVICT RECORDS. Y'all should expect "AKON introducing FAZE" album before the end of 2008, before then i'll be supporting his music in different ways, you know how we do. . . . . ." The above statement was confirmed by hiphopmagazine, if those words didn't come out of akons mouth, they wouldn't av covered the story. Nine months later, this same akon denied signing up any deal with faze and these were his words below "I didn't sign up any deal with faze,we didn't discuss any deal . . . . . . . . "When 2face and i come to agreement you guys will be the first to know, but for faze,we never had any deal, thank you" Ok, a month later according to eleshin the same akon we are talking about said he's THINKING of signing up faze and 2face into his label.So its obvious that akon is the bad guy here, first he said he co-signed faze,later on he denied discussing any deal with him, shortly after he's thinking of signing him. Eleshin i want you to compare and contrast the statements made by akon and tell me that he didn't lie or causing confusion rather.

This is just a perfect summary of all what transpired, it is only someone that wants to be mischievous that would cast the minutest form of aspersion on Faze. On balance of probabilies i will blame it on Akon, he is blowing hot and cold(As lawyers would say ; he is approbating and reprobating)

Me Tu welcome  back and Happy new Year. I can see you couldn't avoid these Faze/Akon/2face threads for long,your post was frank,fair, rational and reasonable unlike Eleshin's who is putting the conclusion before the premise cool

It would be very difficult to convince me that the lady in that pic isn't sick. She is damn skinny and pale. Look at the way Becham is holding her, that's pure aiding, even check out the sober mood and sombre look on everyones face(including Becham), celebrities are known to always wear smiling faces and at the same time make those around them smile mostly inadvertently; all that is absent from this pic. Guys that lady is DYING cry
