The fact is that , the MOBO nomination was like a parting gift from "Almighty Keke" to Tetuila. Tony got that UNDESERVED nomination courtesy his Ego Better Album which had tracks like Ego Better, Fefe na fe etc, and that album was released under Kennis. When an album is released under a label, the label is responsible for everything concerning that album; promotions, awards etc, so what are we arguing about? It's like 2face winning an Award with his Grace to Grass Album, and you say he wasnt won under Kennis, when we all know that musical contracts, especially in Naija is signed with express reference to albums, i.e Tu's contract with Keke was for 2 albums and as such Keke is to work for the success of the 2 albums, simple. The only way you can convince me is when you prove to me that Tetuila got that Nomination with his last effort; "Free Soldier" which is even a worse album compared to the wack Ego Better" and  that would only make the nomination more undeserved. But offcourse that nomination was certainly a product of  Kennis Ego better album. Up Keke

Anway my take on that is this; i dont see anything wrong with Keke organising shows 4 his artistes, what i have against them is how they come on air to hype and blow them out of proportion, so annoying. Am happy that viewers are less gullible these days as the growth in the industry is cutting down on their monopoly and have also enhanced viewer consciousness/awareness

The winner of the KORA award wasnt predetermined, it was organized in a way that its was like a competition or screening and the first two acts that emerged were Sasha representing Nigeria and Batman Samini for Ghana, the eventual winner was supposed to picked from this two acts, not someone who wasnt within the purview of those to be considered for he award. What simply happened , was that Keke as usual used his subteranean negative powers to sustitute Tuface for Sasha, and went ahead to make sure Tu won the award.

Paul Play's Hitsville with hits like Angel of my life, forever etc is bigger than the Moshorire Album, you can create a thread for that if you like

Tetuila got MOBO nomination while still with Keke, he got that nomination with his[b] Ego Better album [/b] which was his last effort with Keke and ever since  he hasnt gotten any award not even local, same Tony that became the Golden boy of Africa under Keke.  Tony was nominated alongside Psquare and Batman Samini who evenually went home with the award (MOBO).

As for the Sasha Kora story,the nomination was done in a competition format, and from west Africa 2face came a distant 3rd place behind Sasha and Batman Samini. It's funny to hear Sasha was DISQUALIFIED few minutes b4 the award cos she had just a single without a video. So singles cant or don't win awards? hmmmmm. This confirms Keke's PDP-like influence. Sasha disqualified, how about Batman? And why would it be that it was at the last minute that they realized that Sasha didn't have an album, i thought all artistes submitted their resume before the commencement of the screening? Anyway we all know what happened Keke needed that award and he got it as usual; anyhow, by hook or crook disqualification

I never said 2 and Kaha had a strain in their friendship, what i stated is that Keke made sure his(Kaha) videos got little or no airplay in Lagos cos he was seen as a threat then. And i repeat this is how exactly Keke tries to bring all artistes that pose a threat to artises on his label, Faze is top on this list, means he has to contend with influence_negative of Keke, even at that Faze is still waxing stronger by he day; listen to the intro on Independent(I don come oo) then you will get a hint of what am talking about,

In a nutshell Keke's ideology is get success for his artises by ALL MEANS and stop contenders(threats to his artistes) by ALL MEANS

Let me drop some hard facts about Kennis
Keke only signs an artiste if they can "use your head"(example of such acts; Tetuila, Eedris, 2face and recently Maintain) most times the contract they sign with such artistes is within the range of 80%-20% to 70%-30%. So if you don't agree to such terms they would hardly sign you, and if somehow you get yourself into their label and , you try to play smart , and try to claim your right, or "due", that's the end of you irrespective of how good you are, they wont promote/ hype your work, no shows for you and stuffs. This was the fate of Paul Play, Slam, and recently, Marvellous, Sound Sultan, Baba Dee. we all can vividly remember how Paul Play complained of not getting shows from Keke and his album not getting good promotion too. Not too long ago Sound Sultan openly accused Keke of not promoting his last album the "TextBook"(i personally feel  "Motherland" a track on that album would have gone places if Keke had, u know)

As an artiste under kennis as long as you give them your head to use:talent or no talent, they guarantee you fame, and popularity, while they smile to the bank. It's a deal, they give you the fame; awards inclusive then they collect the cheddar

Keke would do anything ;everything to bring you down the minute he discovers you are a threat to an "artiste" on his label, don't get me wrong, am not talking about competition, if it were to that it would have been cool, but Keke could go as far as telling Dejaays not to play your song, or even stealing your cds from radio and tv station. I will you give you instances; Ruggedman/Eedris 2face/Faze 2face/Kaha Marvellous /Rymzo. Let me talk a little about Kaha, Kaha schooled with blackface and tuface in IMT, they were very close both musically, he got same root and inspiration as 2face, pracically sounds like 2, equally good looking. This guy had 2 hot singles on air at a time;" Party buddy" and "Omo ele" . good song , nice and standard video, but guess what Keke made sure airtime was scarce for this guy in Lagos, quote me, i know am talking about. If not for the fact that Ruggedy was resilient and dogged , rugged would have been history considering what Keke did o bring him down, going as far as telling his "rugged" record label; Littlefish to take off Rugged from their list of artistes,


Let me give you a hint of how Keke gets awards for his acts. In recent time, Kennis is no doubt the biggest and most established in Nigeria, West Africa and almost in Africa, and i must confess that as pioneers they really did alot of work by making contacts with as many international music related bodies, they didnt just do this in a day, it was gradual, after "conquering" Nigeria, they headed for Africa, then they proceeded to Europe and America. Making them the first music setup(in our hiphop generation) that would come in contact with these foreign musical establishments and entrepreneurs. Remember how they helped star in bringing foreign acts for star mega jam, until that misunderstanding? remember how they started going to Grammies, fom backyard, they got in and secured a space for themselves. Keke and co were building contacts; smart guy. I know you gonna ask me what this got to do with awards, ok. As a result of this contacts, Keke gained and earned the respect of there foriegn bodies, even thought they werent the best, but  they were the best, cos they were the sole rep for Nigerian music .  So they became the link between naija music and outside, as a result whatever is coming from outside to naija music industry goes through dem Keke, this means that they either collect it themselves which they often do/did or they recommend someone.(perks of being a pioneer you would say) Take it or leave it this what happens. There are things i cant say here. Part of there perks is simply the reason why when Mtv came to Africa, Keke's 2face's African queen was the first video to be aired, that honor was done Keke and no one else cos i know you agree with me that that video wasnt by anyway the best video in Naija then not to talk about Africa, and besides the halo of mtv award was yet to be accorded that song at that time.

What i deduce from this KOLOMENTAL\YAHOOZEE stuff is that 2FACE Grass 2 grace has no hit that is commensurate comparable to KOLOMENTAL so OLU' S YAHOOZEE has to come to Tu's rescue Hmmmmmmmmmm, is all good, 2 against 1(no pun intended)
