Faze Alone won Faze "Vocalist of the Year Hiphopworld Award 2005"_{his only award yet}

Award or no award, that song is or was a hit, man don't be a spoil sport please

I hope this is does not continue. We want more Faze Alones, African queens, Crys, Greenlands, etc

But you know what, i have my reservations about the "hits" that naija artistes churn out these days. Must a song be a party jam with some fast beats b4 Nigerians would gbadun it? It' a sad trend that is doing our fledgling music industry little all or no good, all our (most)artistes do now is get a danceble and rythmic beat and some sing-along-hook and the unmistakable end product is 100% radio rotation, i could swear Psquare knew Do me was gonna b a hit just after some few studio sessions.

More baffling is that some few artistes acclaimed for their very artistic disposition are even falling to this fad, they now want to sing party jams too, so they can make a hit as well. I hope this is does continue. We want more Faze Alones, African queens, Crys, Greenlands, etc

I can understand why faze hasnt won many awards yet, its simple. In all categories faze usually comes up as second best. Lets be practical here.Based on d past year, would faze win best vocalist in a category where he is nominated alongside sunny neji and obiwon? Would he win best pop album if he was in d same category with GET SQUARED and GRASS TO GRACE. Can KOLOMENTAL win MOST POPULAR SONG ahead of YAHOOZE. How many would vote faze as BEST MALE ARTIST ahead of d kokomaster or tubaba. Its not beef or bad belle but to get an award u got to be d best,and right now, faze isnt. If we had to write a list of the TOP THREE NAIJA ARTIST , faze wouldnt make d list. FACT.

NO ONE can ever be the best in anything, you can be number one tho'. I'm sure u'll have found people that would have argued they knew this & that person somewhere and if he was given the chance like Jordan he would have been better than him. So no matter what u do and no matter how well u do it, people would always find someone better. Both of these artists have talent no doubt, its not like we're dealing with a soulja boy and a jay-z, again we'll never agree on who is better but tuface definitely has something faze doesn't make him as successful. So right now we're dealing with two talented artists and the only way we can seperate them is level of success.

Me Tu, if you understand simple English, its obvious that in your very first post as regard Kpo Kpo di kpo, which is the last of the quotes, you said it was only the break dance stuff that stood out, i.e it's the only good thing in the video. But in your subsequent posts which i also quoted, you suddenly changed your diction from "stood out" to "washed out" and "poor". Get it now?

Faze in that video was doing some washed out throwback Backstreet Boys type dance step, there is nothing Nigerian or African for that matter about that. If he was trying to do a dance video, i'm sorry but the choreography was poor,

I finally saw faze's videos online after I told my sis to help me bring it with her from naij, its all good tho, I'll just keep it as part of my video collection. The videos are truly nice and beautifully shot. I like the way the videos are simply shot in nice scenes. No attempt at visual effects so they don't even have a chance to go wrong. In kpo kpo dipo tho', it was lacking content a bit.  Now after seeing the videos, you guys have to give 2face a little props for "If love is a crime" and "My Love". I know many might not like "true love" because of the cardboard stuvs but it was an attempt at creativity. Maybe next time, he should go the "faze route" and just do simple videos without all those effects

I've been trying to avoid this but I hope the Kpo Kpo Dipo video is not the best out of the videos u guys have been making noise about. I really did not want to comment because I have only seen it online and it was a small screen. Thank God some guys are beginning to reason beyond parochial lines and sentiments, Tu is good anyday, but he didnt deserve this award just like some others he won in the past. I think D'banj even deserves that award more,considering the great impact of his big hit "Why Me" (Remember that song just earned him an Mtv nomination). Let me actually ask Eleshin & Mr Me Tuface , with which track did Tu win this award? No song in Tu's latest album(audio & Video) is as big as D'banj's "why me" quote me.

"Kolomental" and lately "Yahoozee" are actually the biggest songs this year; but of course we all know that alot goes into award getting nominations
