emmke: this is not based on what you support ,its based on reality. no south east state has high poverty rate like other regions, literacy level is higher in south east and income distribution gap is lowest in south east with the highest percentage of middle class families , these are yardsticks for measuring development, the same cannot be said for the middle belt. no matter how you put it whether by state of origin or by residence south east is still ahead of others. in as much as people move to more developed places like from africa to america , people also moved to less developed places to make use of the opportunities the locals are too blind or too lazy to utilize like the case of asian and american companies buying up all the lands in africa, oil companies etc and sending the money back to their countries to add to the one they already have and thats called eating double portion. |

ak47mann: thats not neccessary , we are not known to be hostile to our visitors ,an average igbo man in the east is too busy hursling to even know who is hausa igbo or yoruba,we dont even talk about it, let them keep whining as if that will bring their people out of poverty. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-371485.0.html. |

alj_harem: alj harem SE ,SS are the most densly populated regions in africa, you keep arguing like a lost cat. even delta state you mentioned the capital is located in asaba igbo land so again you shoot yourself at the foot. when you mention sokoto the only thing that comes to ones mind is poverty and almajiroism. you must be delusional to compare economic activities in anambra and abia with sokoto. i will not debate ph issues with you cause i believe your no longer a child but a full grown adult. the bigest industrial estate in nigeria is amadi industrial estate in ph and obio/akpor LGA in rivers is the richer than most states in nigeria ,keep deceiving yourself. |

alj_harem: the SE is doing fine , mention 5 commercial cities in nigeria and at least 3 igbo cities onithsha, aba and ph must pop up mention 5 best city to reside in nigeria and enugu ,owerri and ph must come up the rest are abuja ,lag and calabar which funny enough where all federal capitals developed with federal money. you people still dont get it but i dont expect you to . if he is a middle belter then he is really a dummy cus that region cant even boast of one livable city, jos is gone, abuja is in the hands of northerners , i dare them to tell hausa fulanis to leave abuja they no born them well, people still go unclothed up till today in adamawa. |
Politics / Re: Declare State Of Emergency In Borno Says Igbo Elders by bashr4: 3:33am On Jul 18, 2011 |
emmke: the question should be why are yorubas flocking into igbo cities like onitsha, aba and ph ? is lagos and southwest no longer enough for you? what are yorubas still looking for in the north even as they are being killed steady? thought you have free education and lagos so why move to the north? why is there hausa fulani families in every street in igboland, igbo land is the busiest region judged by amount of transporters and airports and activities going on there located there , any other busy part of nigeria apart from the igboland is also powered by igbos so go hang yourself olodo . |

~Bluetooth: keep deceiving yourself and believe what ever you like i guess all those yorubas that answer hausa and arabic names to are no longer yorubas or maybe bluetooth is a yoruba name. i have yoruba extension family and some of them bear igbo first names. |

redsun: do you mind that fool , most second generation hausas and yorubas in the east have never been to their region, they speak only igbo and look like igbos , you will never know unless they tell you |
Politics / Re: Declare State Of Emergency In Borno Says Igbo Elders by bashr4: 6:05pm On Jul 17, 2011 |
EzeUche: i my self growing up in the east never heard anything about the yorubas, even while in university in the east where we had so many of them, its not until i came to nairaland i started seeing this rubbish igbo this igbo that. the worst part is this accomodating rubish they always talk about on nairaland as if they to dont live in the east and north and are even taking over london. |
Politics / Re: Declare State Of Emergency In Borno Says Igbo Elders by bashr4: 6:00pm On Jul 17, 2011 |
~Bluetooth: keep deceiving yourself the busiest airports are lagos ,enugu and ph am sure you know who patronizes them. the east is the most urbanized part of nigeria ,show me one city in the SW Worth living .i can show you enugu, owerri, nnewi ,onitsha ,umuahia, ph ,aba ,asaba. do you want us to draw up poverty statistics in nigeria? am sure we have gone tru dat several times. maybe i should consult becomrich to educate you on what the yoruba cities look like. keep hiding behind lagos. |
Politics / Re: Declare State Of Emergency In Borno Says Igbo Elders by bashr4: 5:47pm On Jul 17, 2011 |
redsun: actually i see no difference between ph and lagos now , both are economic power house just that lagos is more populated with more ghetto and swamps lagos has 9million people while ph is about 7 million. amadi industrial estate in ph is the biggest industrial estate in nigeria built by akanu ibiam when. |
Politics / Re: Declare State Of Emergency In Borno Says Igbo Elders by bashr4: 5:43pm On Jul 17, 2011 |
~Bluetooth: when the time comes we will start making use of ph, calabar and onitsha port, plus we already have 3 international airports in enugu , ph and asaba , crossrivers will be our tourist haven ,anambra is already the center of science and technology while abia is already producing everything we use in nigeria . all the eastern states are well planed and viable apart from cleaning up aba and onitsha there will be little or no extra work to do cus everything is already on ground. |

~Bluetooth: hahaha dont worry lets worry about what we need and what we dont need, when that time comes am sure all major airlines will rather ply the rich oil regions and remember the oil comapanies in the west will move to the east, if you get sense you should be campigning for a southern nigeria rather than odua nation cus the igbo, ibibio, efik and maybe ijaw a population less than 50million will be enjoying what 160million people are enjoying today , i dey laff oo |
Politics / Re: Declare State Of Emergency In Borno Says Igbo Elders by bashr4: 5:14pm On Jul 17, 2011 |
~Bluetooth: you never make sense , why would they be flushed out? do you have sense at all ? as for civil servants for every igbo army, police, banker, etc in lagos you have one yorubaman in anambra so they will just swap besides remeber your population is higher so we will have more vacancies, as for buisness men, students and traders they are going nowhere just as those in the east are not going anywhere unless they personally choose to leave. |
Politics / Re: Declare State Of Emergency In Borno Says Igbo Elders by bashr4: 5:05pm On Jul 17, 2011 |
apart from lagos no other state in the SW can boast of development but the igbo can boast of state like anambra, enugu, imo, abia and rivers , dont worry about us. |
Politics / Re: Declare State Of Emergency In Borno Says Igbo Elders by bashr4: 4:44pm On Jul 17, 2011 |
~Bluetooth: you mean what bokoharem is doing to yorubas in borno , more yorubas lost their life during the election violence than igbos yet yorubas are still in the north, opc hardly operate in lagos island where majority of the igbos reside. |

the earlier they declare state of emergency in the north and yorubaland the better for all us in nigeria The Arewa People's Congress (APC) is a group in Northern Nigeria established to protect the interests of the Moslem Hausa and Fulani of the area. It has been described as a militant wing of the Arewa Consultative Forum.[1] The group was formally launched on 13 December 1999. It was chaired by a retired army officer, Brigadier General Sagir Muhammed, who had been an operative in the Directorate of Military Intelligence. The APC has a motto "to preserve the indivisibility of the country".[2] The group said it would begin full self-defence training for northern residents in reaction to attacks on Hausas by the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), a Yoruba pressure group in the south.[3] The emergence of increasingly militant groups such as the APC and OPC is one of the factors fuelling communal violence in Nigeria.[4] The Oodua People's Congress secretary general, Kayode Ogundamisi, has blamed the APC for the ethnic violence.[5] In January 2000 the Inspector General of police, Musiliu Smith, announced a reward of N100,000 for Gani Adams, leader of the militant youth wing of the OPC. The APC promptly raised the ransom to N300,000.[6] Speaking to the Conference of Southern Governors in January 2001, Chimaroke Nnamani, the governor of Enugu State, said the emergence of these groups was due to the inability of the federal police to provide adequate policing due to shortage of manpower.[7] In November 2006, Sagir Muhammed described the impeachment of Plateau State Governor Chibi Joshua Dariye as an affron http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arewa_People%27s_Congress |

youngmonie: there was never a time the economy of nigeria stood still cause of kidnapping in south east, kidnapping originated in yorubaland before it moved to the niger delta, uptil today people still get missing when they enter bus(one chance)in yorubaland and never seen again cause they are used for rituals unlike the east and southsouth where kidnapping is for money ransom and the victims are released alive. you should bury your head in shame. state of emergency was declared in akwaibom the moment a yoruba party found its way there. |

Rhino.5dm: na your papa be vulture and sell out, when opc where terrorizing people in the SW why didnt they declare state of emergency ? when NURTW where busy killing people burning the whole south, kidnaping and one chance , corpers being violated by yoruba elders and pregnant women fleeing sango ota in fear of of being used as ritual during ora festival why didnt they declare state of emergency in yoruba land? |
