The CBN placed restriction on forex outflows just under 3 months a new government was ushered in.Is it an indicator that the out gone government's economy policies and plans were super duper and investors having been falling over themeslves just key into our"grown and fast"economy.

You guys needs to stop being hypocritals and economical with the truth.

Even if Nigeria was on a standstill for 4 months, the economy shouldn't have been this bad.

No wonder I was asked to endure another 4yrs under Jonathan.

If you are not being economical with the truth, the question you should have asked yourself is: Was the economy this bad 4 months ago?

I expected you to cite one or two instances on how this"liquidity"of yours was dried up.

Atleast paste a link or two, that way this discussion will be more broad and informative.

I'm sure you are not dumb so stop pretending you are, I know you can use your head. The CBN placed restrictions on forex outflows, banks won't even help you. Do you now expect investors to bring money into the economy when it would be difficult to move it out? That will definitely reduce investors' level of confidence in staking their money on our markets, comprende?

If you can't answer how Buhari ruined the supposedly"growing economy"in 4 months then I suggest you keep quiet.

How do you not expect a decline when your kindergarten president completely dried up liquidity and made it almost impossible for investors to move money in and out of Nigeria? This singular act is responsible for the massive capital outflow we have witnessed over the last couple of months. Investors are taking their money out of our economy and there is no new inflow into to replace these. Now tell me, why will the economy not decline sharply?

Politics / Re: Columnist JJ. Omojuwa Tweet: If You Love Your Hero by Bayswater: 11:12am On Sep 11, 2015
adenine02:

Columnist JJ. Omojuwa recently tweeted series of sarcastic tweets apparently directed at unrepentant critics of PMB's achievements in 100 days at the helm of the Nation Nigeria. @Omojuwa tweeted:

*If you miss your hero, cut off your power supply and use your generator. It will remind you of his days without stress.

*If you miss your hero, insist on your company buying diesel when you have light. Leave the light but keep the generator on.

*If you miss your hero, go and build him a statue in the
middle of the 2nd Niger Bridge he commissioned.

*If you really really & truly miss your hero, buy plenty yam, buy plenty goats, put them in a room & reinstate your corrupt government

*If you don't do all that, you are liars. You don't miss your
hero.

*And if my tweets piss you off, go and report me to Marilyn Ogar. Shebi she is your Mighty Igor.

*If you get to the fuel station, insist on waiting for 3 hours
even when there's no queue. Tell them, "na so we do am
under Jonathan"

*Of course, you'd be betraying your love for your hero if you pay N87/litre. Buy fuel for the > N100 he left it. Love is in showing it!

The epic fool is at it again. See the mumu talking as if we never bought fuel for N87 during Jonathan's administration.

Just check his record in 1984 and you will know Buhari has always been an economy destroyer. We have to live with our choice, I hope people now know education and certificate matters when appointing somebody to fill a crucial position.

I just hope we would still have a country by 2019.

Mr OcheJoseph

You have to do better than this

You keep writing daft epistles and in your own head, you term them as analyses.

It is very sad that this is the best that the PDP is offering Nigerians as opposition to the current government.

Am I happy with APC so far, no? But I prefer it to the PDP and the way they wasted the country's resources for 16 years. I am ready to wait to see how APC performs and whether you like it or not, that is the general feeling among Nigerians

Ochejoseph, I saw your thread on the FP notifying us of the newly appointed PDP Youth congress. You are the only one there without any educational qualification. You claim to have a certificate in Pharmacy, what exactly does that mean?

I will suggest that you invite more knowledgeable and educated people from PDP to handle the online propaganda.

You cannot do it because you are JUST not good enough

Shalom

God bless all Nigerians

Mr English, I was hoping you'd dispute the facts he stated above but you resorted to cheap insults. Nigeria is gradually slipping into a recession and you're here spitting bile. Abeg park well jare.

Politics / Re: Arms Bought By Jonathan Govt Haven’t Arrived Nigeria – Dasuki by Bayswater: 8:26am On Aug 07, 2015
Koboko69 and the bias mods, why push a thread with a controversial title to the front page?

The title says "arms bought by Jonathan's regime has not arrived". One can see the crafty sensationalisation.

Dasuki said in that interview that the equipments bought were used to recover territories from Boko Haram, that even makes your mischief more obvious.

Seun, this is one of the reasons why some of us have reduced our visit/contributions on this forum.

You need to call your mods to other, they have been tasked with doing some functions, it is very obvious some of them are sentimental or are downright inept. No forum is formidable enough not to witness a hit, you need to put your house in order before these elements in the name of mods help you pull it down.

We all know majority of the arms bought during Jonathan's administration came in handy during the decimation of Boko haram in their held territories.

Nowhere in that interview did Dasuki say all arms bought have not arrived so I am wondering why you have decided to sensationalize it.

Politics / Re: Naira "Appreciation": Why Nigerians Should Not Celebrate by Bayswater: 3:37pm On Aug 04, 2015
Mynd44:

Now you got that right that the main reason the Naira fell in November was because of oil prices but then you should also ask what they heck happened to our reserves when oil was selling for $100 and thereabout?

Now the Naira fell to 204 as at February from 154 in November which is basically almost 30%. Can we blame that totally on oil prices? No, it is bad fiscal planning.

We were exporting crude oil whose prices was dropping and importing refined petroleum products at subsidized rates when we could have had refineries and had no need to import fuel.

So an economy where the National budget is about $25-30 billion is importing fuel alone with almost $7 billion then subsidized it in which the major export was crashing which had its Central bank instead of marking policies to stem the crash was "defending" it with hundreds of million every month and you ask what was supposed to happen to the Naira?

I still wonder what the absence of a minister for finance would have done as this is a CBN affair

Now that you know the reason for decline in the naira value, will you disprove the issues barca raised? I

They have still not addressed the issues Barca raised, they will rather ask questions or seek to nullify his postulations with unreasonable logic. He gave reasons why Nigerians need not celebrate the recent decrease in the aboki dollar rate (not even the official rate), I am yet to see any response telling us why his assertions are wrong.

Wow! PDP is far by miles a better opposition. If the APC were like this when they were in the opposition, maybe Nigeria would have been better than this.

This statement does not even have one single insult in it. APC, learn how to be a better opposition, you will go back to being the opposition in 2019.
