I saw myself in a big car(like a trailer or tipper) with some people inside(it seems we were going somewhere).
I was sitting at the front seat and the driver was driving.
The car was in slow motion, I was trying to open the door so I could come down...i eventually opened the door and at same time I was wishing the driver could stop so I could come down.

The car was still going in its slow speed, suddenly there was a bus or kekenapep(like an obstacle) across the road, the big car I was in , just drove through hitting the obstacle from the road.
Eventually, I was outside (no longer in the big car) and I was just scaring at the big car till I woke up.

Here's a list of words that do not exist in the English Dictionary which Nigerians use on a daily basis without realizing that those actual words do not exist and even those that exist are not exactly what they think it means.

1. Installmentally:
This “word” is a favourite of many Nigerians, but, sadly, it simply does not exist. You won’t find it any reputable dictionary. The correct thing to say when “installmentally” comes to your mind is in instalments or by instalments.

2. Plumpy:
Nigerians use “plumpy” when they want to say that someone is chubby or slightly fat. The correct expression is plump.

3. Disvirgin:
This particular “word” is used severally on a daily basis, especially by Nigerian men when they intend saying that a woman has lost her virginity to a guy. The correct word to use, however, is deflower, because “disvirgin” is not a word.

4. Crosscarpeting:
This is a favourite of Nigerian politicians and political analysts alike. They use it when they want to say that a politician has dumped his political party for another party, usually a rival party. The right terms to use when describing this scenario are party switching, defection and crossing the floor and not “cross-carpeting” or “crosscarpeting.”

5. Go-Slow :
The word go-slow exists, but not in the way Nigerians use it. A “go-slow,” in the peculiarly Nigerian context, is a situation in which road traffic is very sluggish due to vehicle queues. However, go-slow in the English language actually means an industrial tactic used by employees whereby they intentionally reduce activity, productivity and efficiency in order to press home some demands. When this happens, you say that work in the office, factory or organization is at a go-slow. The correct terms to use when road traffic is very sluggish due to vehicle queues are traffic jam, traffic congestion, gridlock, and (less technically) hold-up, not “go-slow.”

6. Cunny:
“Cunny” is not found in authoritative dictionaries, but it can be found in some slang dictionaries. Over there, it is a slang used to refer to a woman’s v**ina. The correct term to use is cunning (which is used to describe someone that is being deceitful or crafty) and not “cunny.”

7. Opportuned:
There is nothing like “opportuned” anywhere in the English language, but that has not stopped its blatant use by all and sundry in Nigeria, including journalists and writers. 8. Alright:
“Alright” is a misspelling of the term all right. All right is used when you want to say that something is adequate, acceptable, agreeable or suitable. To hardcore English language linguists, “alright” is not a word. However, its usage is gaining traction and it’s increasingly becoming acceptable. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary – which is considered the gold standard among American English speakers – has recently drawn a lot of criticisms for its permissiveness when it began indexing some otherwise colloquial and street language terms, including “alright.” Most linguists disagree with the gradual acceptance of “alright” as a word by the public and even the media, while those in the minority are “alright” with it.

9. Wake-Keeping:
“Wake-keeping” exists only in the imagination of a few English speakers. As a matter of fact, there is no such thing as “wake-keeping.” The correct word is wake and not even “wake-keep.” Both “wake-keeping” and “wake-keep” are ungrammatical.

10. Screentouch:
This bad grammatical expression gained currency in Nigeria and neighbouring West African countries with the influx of made-in-China stylus pen touchscreen not-so-smart phones in the mid 2000s. It was a novelty then; many in Nigeria had not seen it – or even thought such advanced technology was possible – before. So, they looked for a name to call it and “screentouch” came to mind, after all you just touch the screen and it starts working. Unfortunately for Sylvia or Chinyere as she was fondly called by family and close friends, she did not live to tell her own story. She was cut down in her prime by the man she loved till death did them part Obinna Akaleme, her husband. She died on the day she was due to give birth after series of miscarriages in her husband’s house.

A brief biography of the victim

Chinyere Sylvia Akaleme (nee Igbo) was born on 27 april 1981 into the family of Mr and Mrs Reginald Chiaka Igbo. The second child and 1st daughter of the family with six other siblings, Sylvia was raised in a middle-class Catholic family residing in Ajao estate, lagos where she had her nursery, primary and secondary education. She was a very bright pupil and her position in class never went below the top three. She gained admission into the university of Ilorin in Kwara state where she read electrical engineering and graduated with second class honours. She started a career in information technology and quickly got several professional qualifications including sisco into her academic profile. She started her working career with Karox computers before moving on to reliance info systems ltd where she became a product and sales manager

Her last job was with the Wini group, an Ikeja based corporation.

In 2012 she met and married Obinna Akaleme a farmer/ chef/ kitchen assistant and thus began her journey to an untimely death in the hands of the man she loved so much and catered for. She died on the on the 29th of march 2017 and she was committed to mother earth at the Ikoyi cemetery on the 19th of july 2017.

Engr sylvia is survived by her aged grandmother, her parents, siblings, uncles, aunties, nephews and nieces. May her gentle soul rest in peace, Amen.

What Happened?

Her parents and siblings never knew Chinyere endured several years of abuse in the hands of the man she called a husband. She assumed the role of a typical Nigerian wife who must always display a non-existent happiness in a marriage filled with sadness and regrets. The only clue about what happened to her during her over five years of marriage was the account of the neighbors who narrated how on a particular night Obinna her husband beat her up and she ran to their landlords house for safety. Also the little girl who lived with her revealed that Chinyere warned her not to tell her parents that her husband used to beat her up even while she was over eight months pregnant.sylvia and a friend at an event

That explained the reason behind the series of miscarriages she had before her last pregnancy which was full term. Her parents got worried that their daughter had about four miscarriages in less than four years decided to take her to come stay with them when she took-in after her eight month old miscarriage. She lived peacefully with her parents and her pregnancy advanced with Chinyere in good health and high spirits anticipating the birth of her child. Unfortunately for her, on her due date, Obinna, her husband came to pick her up from her father’s house at 10 am to the hospital and as a dutiful wife she was, she obeyed him and went with him. According to the doctor, the mother and the baby were confirmed healthy on arrival and Doctor asked her to go get her bag in preparation for delivery that evening. Obinna took Chinyere to their matrimonial home. Sadly for Chinyere, he got into an argument with her over money, beat her up so badly and left her unconscious in the house. He left the house and switched off his phone and her phone so no one could reach them. He left her in the house and every attempt made to reach them was futile. He later returned and took her to the hospital when he discovered she was dying at about 4.30pm and did not deem it fit to contact her parents or siblings, he did this so as not to run the risk of her coming out of coma and telling her family her ordeal at the hands of her husband, it is also worthy to note that the hospital were she died is less than a hundred metres from her parent’s house. Obinna eventually came to her parents house around 8.30pm to tell them she had passed on. Further findings from her siblings and the doctor’s confirmation revealed that Chinyere was brought to the hospital lifeless (practically dead). The doctor decided to do a cesarean session to try and save the baby but it was all in vain

Chinyere’s sad story is one among millions of Nigerian women who fall victim to sexual and emotional predators because they want to be accepted by the society at large . They hide their ordeal from the very people that can rescue them. Their families. Women nowadays​ pretend that they are in happy marriages even when the obvious signs says otherwise. For how long will we keep up with this trend of pretending all is well when it obviously isn’t? Must we live a lie for societal acceptance? Let’s come together and say no to domestic violence and spousal abuse. There are many families like Chinyere’s who wish their children had remained single and lived with them instead of getting married and killed by their partners.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Friday debunked the claims made by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) that it sponsored the recent killings at a church in Ozubulu, Anambra.

According to the National Chairman of the party, Mr Victor Oye, made the refutation when Anambra Governor, Willie Obiano, came to the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja to submit his nomination form.

Oye said “I want to use this opportunity to dispute the allegation that APGA had a hand in the killings.
“APGA has never at anytime sponsored the killing of innocent people regardless of what people are saying and as alleged by IPOB and we can stand at the World Court or anywhere to say this.
“Anambra government is run on transparency, fear of God, love of the people and commitment to accountability; how can such a government begin to kill people?

“This is the same government that held the `Ozuemena’ which is the burial or re-burial for all who died in the civil war; so, how can a man who has done all these turn around and kill his innocent people?’’

He said the allegation was the making of evil people, to distort the good work of the governor, but said that such people would fail.
The chairman assured the governor of the party’s support, adding that the APGA family was standing solidly behind him.
According to him, the next election in the state would mark a crushing defeat for the opponents.
In his response, Obiano said that the incident would not dent his security record and the fact that the state remained the safest in Nigeria.

“The unfortunate flash in the pan that happened last Sunday was a fight that was exported from an African country into the country between two business owners".

“Early investigation showed that they wanted one of the persons killed in the house but because his house was very fortified, they thought the best way to eliminate was in the church close to his house.
“So as soon as they confirmed that the guy’s car was parked along the road they did not know it was the father that parked the car and the guy was not there; they went into the church and did what they did.’’

Obiano expressed confidence that the culprits would be brought to book to serve as deterrent to others, adding, `if you have scores to settle outside Nigeria, you stay outside Nigeria, you don’t bring it home.’’
He reaffirmed that Anambra government would pick the hospital bills of the injured and burial bills for the dead.

THE SYSTEM IS BAD:

Why should someone tell a person in Nigeria that a school drop out, like Bill Gate, later became d richest man in d world? Why should someone tell a person in Nigeria that Mark, the owner of facebook, dropped out from school and now one of d richest men?...

FOR goodness sake, they dropped out from Oxford ,Havard, Cambridge e.t.c, not from ABU, UNN, UNIZIK e.t.c, They become what they are because their system is positive, motivational, supportive,inspirational and helpful.

Their country system is positive and working, hence, it helped and encouraged what they are today. Their school system helped them.

OUR COUNTRY AND SCHOOL SYSTEM IS BAD AND NOT ENCOURAGING, HENCE THE QUESTIONZ:

HOW CAN YOU PRODUCE PEOPLE LIKE BILL GATE WHEN YOU DONT HAVE WHAT IT TAKEZ TO PRODUCE people like him?
WHY DO PEOPLE CITE INSTANCES WITH BILL GATE AND MARK, THAT DROPPED OUT FROM SCHOOLZ WHERE THE SYSTEMZ WORK FOR THE DROP-OUTZ or EVEN GRADUATES THAT ARE IN NIGERIA WHERE the system is not WORKING?

Show me a Nigerian school drop-out thatz among the "legit" richest men in d world.

OUR COUNTRY, NIGERIA can't give what it doesn't have "NEMO DAT QUOD NON HABET".
