mekoy: Good day house,
Thank you all so much for the free and valuable information here. I've learnt so much. I want to start my journey to obtain the Australian PR.
I studied Electrical/Electronic Engineering at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi and have been practicing for 6 years now. I know there is a tier grading system for Nigerian universities by the Assessing bodies. Will my degree be assessed as an equivalent to an Australian one considering that my university is neither a tier 1 nor 2?
Does anyone have a similar experience? I'd appreciate inputs from elders in the house.
Engineering courses in Nigeria are five year courses, as a result, all engineering degrees are assessed to be equivalent to AQF Bachelor irrespective of the university you graduate from. |

JeRit: Good day gurus in the house. I just stumbled across this thread, please forgive my ignorance if my question sounds too basic ( I have not really read much about the Australia PR process) Here are my details: Age:35 BSC architecture MSc. architecture inview Work experience 7years (architecture firm) Married with 3 kids What are my chances and where do I start from Your chances is dependent on the requirements of your assessing body. You should read about the requirements for assessment. Generally without assessment, you can get the following points Age: 25 Qualification: 15 English: ? Experience: ? What is your wife's occupation? |

how's WA bros? Any ideas as regards this question? The question is a difficult one to answer because of the body it relates with. For some occupations, VETASSES are particularly strong about having qualification relevant to it. Going by the what Food science and Technology is, it is not closely related to an agricultural consultant. I can't say you will get a negative assessment or a positive one, it depends on the views of the assessor. I am not sure if VETASSES still does their advisory service. If they still do, you can use the option to have an idea of your assessment chances. 1 Like |

Tlontin: I just stumbled on the page after trying Canada for some thing... profile civil engineering Less than 32 years I have an ielts results already band 6.5 Do I stand a chance I fall in the 189 and 489 together Your English score is good for assessment but not enough to score any point. To get a point in English, you need a minimum of 7 in each band. Read the thread to understand the process. |

2. Professional certificate in Project management
3. Professional certificate in Quality management

Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 1:00am On Mar 03, 2019 |
@AmaSophy,
You have read that you don't need work experience to assess with AITSL. I don't think there is anything complicated on their website.
Sit for IELTS and score minimum of 7 in each band. However, without any experience, will you be able to make the minimum of 65 points?
Secondly, I don't think there is any formal qualification for a customer service manager. People I know that got positive assessment in the occupation do not have any academic qualification as a customer manager. What you should be concerned about is how you can align your job descriptions with that of the anzsco job descriptions for a customer service manager.
VETASSES will give you a positive assessment if your job descriptions align. Customer service manager is a skill level 2 which means you don't have to worry if your school is tier 1 or not. If you can align your skills to the job descriptions of a customer service manager, you stand a very high chance of getting a positive assessment.
Goodluck. 1 Like |

@Champepe,
I think I already responded to your question before.
AIM is the body responsible for assessing sales manager. They have strict requirements about who they call managers. If you meet it, go ahead and assess with AIMS. Your best bet is the sales manager occupation. |

Meklex: Hi folks,
I want to enquire if it's possible to get Aussie visa with my credentials. I am a graduate of Marketing with zero work experience and roughly 3 million naira in my account. What's my best bet if I want to migrate to Australia on PR? Is it doable? For PR, not yet as you don't have any experience. Maybe via study visa. 2 Likes |

Chijiuche: Good evening. I have BSc Computer science/ Statistics from a Federal University in Nigeria. I have been working as an IT Project Manager for 9 years in a Telecoms. I am 33 years old female. Married with a son. I have other relevant IT and Project manager certifications. Please what is the best route 189, 190...Also Please assist me with list of documents i will be needing for my accreditation via ACS. The instruction there is not explicit for me The route depends on the number of points you can gather. If you meet enough points in IT occupation, 189 is the way and if not 190 or 489. ACS has all information you need on their website. Regards |

champepe: please,i am somehow confused over the occupation.I studied b.sc chemistry and did MBA in healthcare management,but for the past 8years i have been working as a sales manager in an electronics marketing company,so which of these should i choose as a nominated occupation?Knowing fully well that chemist is not in 189,190 and 489 sub-classes visa,but sales marketing manager,marketing research analyst and marketing specialist are in 190,489(s/t) categories.I hope my MBA will cover me u for these marketing positions?Again,my wife is a midwife/registered nurse with 6 years experience although she is currently in 400level studying b.sc nursing.
Go to AIM website to read requirements for sales manager. If you meet the managerial duties requirements, you can nominate sales manager. |

meandyou3: I would like to know what to do. if I am unable to provide the Proof of Fund for myself, wife and two children.....I have started up the process but this is giving me sleepless night. Pls I need advice and also is there any other way that I can follow to boycott the POF..I truly dont have up to that in my account to be honest. Depends on the visa class you are applying for. If applying for visa 189, you don't need POF. POF is only asked if you are applying for state nomination. Not all states require a POF. Some don't ask at all, others don't request for a proof, they will only ask you to write the amount you have available, While others about two or so require a proof. |

AmaSophy: Please I needbhelp and guidance. I need to take this very seriously although I am yet to write my IELTS examination.
Is it necessary to write the exam before I commence You need to read the thread again. Writing IELTS first or later depends on your assessing body. If it is required for occupation assessment, you have to write it first and if it is not required, you don't need to write it first. |

goldcorn: Pls my ogas in the house I need someone that can guide me. Just want to start the journey but when I checked my course quantity surveying , I can applied for the three visas but my husband course is applied chemistry and he cousre is not in the three visa. Which visa should I applied for out of the three Does it means I will not have 5 points from my husband Will my husband be assessed or only I because I am the primary applicant. Pls I need hrlp. Thanks
To claim partner's point, your spouse's occupation must be on the same list as the occupation you choose. If your husband's occupation is not on the list, then you can't claim partner's point. Partner's point is only necessary to boost your points and not a compulsory requirement. You need to read the thread, follow the instructions to understand the process. You can apply for any of the three visas depending on the points you get. If you can get 65 points on your own, 189 is the best option with 190 as a back up. |

Thanking you in anticipation of your advice. Pls help house. I am not that conversant with the ACS process but I know that the job descriptions are way more important than the job title for assessment. If your current job descriptions are convincing enough for your nominated occupation, I don't think you will have any issue. Goodluck. |

With 70 points, you should be able to get ITA. What will be your point if you are the principal applicant? To increase your options, you can apply for state nomination too 190, ACT, Victoria and NSW sponsor civil engineering occupation. ACT, NSW and NT sponsor construction project manager. Have you put in your EOI? |

I’m also worried about having tk provide proof Have you checked the website of the regional area? Hi Bellong, please i came across this thread and calculated my points but i need some clarification, please can service (Nysc) year be added to work experience? Secondly i switched jobs in 2017 and have been paid in cash (its construction and b'cos of side benefits its better to be paid in cash) so please how can i then be able to prove my work experience w/o bank statement? If you get paid during NYSC and can proof the experience, yes you can add it. Payslip, pension fund statement and tax certificate are other things you can use. 1 Like |
