Travel / Re: Why Wearing Isi-agu On Air Peace Matters And What The Company Can Do Differently by bjdon: 3:39pm On Apr 06
We need to stop making a mountain out of this issue. Isi-Agu is NIGERIAN atire that originates fron the Igbos. Any Nigerian can wear it, just like any Nigerian can wear Aso-Eke or agbada.
This is only an issue for those who have problem with anything Igbo.
Iam an Edo man and I LOVE seeing the Igbo costumes on the Air Peace staff. Nothing stops people from other regions setting up business platforms, and promoting their regions culture on those platforms.

See this unserious governors. They have concluded plans? when was the new electricity act passed?

If you have just concluded with your plans, then how many years would you take to execute those plans?

Wondering when Nigerians would start questioning their state governors same way they have been doing to FG, all this governors are just like P in Psychology

So true. People keep shouting 'Tinubu this, Buhari that' forgetting that their state governors have SO MUCH responsibilities which they are not performing on. Abia is showing the way with regards to power. EVERY state in Nigeria should have a domestic power programme, including the requisite legal backing for an internal power market, generation and transmission. People need to DEMAND more from their states and LGs. The days of waiting for Abuja to solve everything are over
Politics / Re: Tinubu’s Government Raises Electricity Tariff From N66 To N225 Per KPH by bjdon: 7:03pm On Apr 03
Power generation is now off the execuive list, so every state should follow Abia and build their own power stations. To hell with this centralized model, which only exisits to fleece the south for the benefit of the North. Let every state take care of itself. No more yeye national grid that never works anyway

What do we expect? When the oil fields are given to crooks, girlfriends/mistresses, traditional rulers..
In a serious country, anybody that has been allocated an oil well and his not doing the required investments to keep it productive, should forfit that oil well.
We will not attract investments into the downstream sector unless there is full transparency and security

Nigerian politics.
100% agree. Politics is all about alliances. Both El-Rufai and Tinubu had in the past rained insults on Buhari, yet that did not stop them and others from joining up with Buhari to unseat GEJ. Once it becomes clear to PO that he can't win on his steam, he will make a deal with a northerner like EL-Rufai, just like after 4 attempts, Buhari knew he had to make a deal with Tinubbu

Northern Elders should be putting pressure on Northern governors to do their part. SW governors invested in Amoketun security outfit which helped to reduce the incidence of kidnapping in the SW. Edo invested in local vigilante groups. The issue of security can't be left to just the FG

Some section of this country are well-known religious terrorists.

Others, who happened to be their next-door neighbors, are violent land grabbers, ethnic cleansing murderers, and commercial kidnappers.

Some community excelled in drug smuggling , dealing in baby-factory-made children, and producing counterfeit goods.

There others who are renowned religious bigots, and poverty-multipliers by uncontrollably giving birth to alms-begging children.

In this country, we also have kidnapping militias-cum-economic sabatouers.

And this region, these ones in the news above represent, are world-class fraudsters and ritual killers.

Nigeria, chai!!

By the way, I'm from one of the evil communities mentioned above.

The Yaradua blood is not anymore than the maternal blood which is silenced socially but still loud genetically

Men like to.think they own a child but it is 50:50 and a male.ancestor can manifest in a male descendant through his daughters not just in looks but things like sickle cell,Albinism positive and negative traits

My brother we thank God!
When you've got experience in your field, you will be ok. I can't complain. Old timers with experience are getting by. It's really hard for the newcomers, especially those without good skills. That's why I am trying to advise people, to at the very least, be careful and get detailed information, before selling all they have to come and suffer in the UK. I understand Nigeria is very rough sha, it's not easy at all.

My brother thanks for calling the poster out. We really need to spread the word about the REALITY of the UK, You could actually be saving a life The depression I've seen in many of the recent Japa people is not a joke at all. Especially the married ones. I know Nigeria is rough, I get it, but people need to understand the reality of the UK.

The way you guys stay in Nigeria and analyse things is very funny.

Oga UK is 100m times better than Nigeria.

You are the one who is very funny my guy

I am here in the UK and doing very fine, I know the system inside out. I can't count how many people me and my friends have recently had to help. Japa people who have found themselves broke, some not even able to eat. The other day we had to go and give one lady pots and plates as her house was totally empty and she could not afford anything.
Its people like you that sadly give many Nigerians a false picture of the UK. If you read my post again, I never said the UK is not better than Nigeria, or that some people can't make it here. What I said very clearly is that the UK is NOT FOR EVERYONE. If you do not have in-demand skills you will find it very very difficult to have a sataisfying life here. That is just a fact

Many Nigerians really abused the care worker scheme in the UK. Some charging up to £10k to sponsor their fellow Nigerians and then they don’t have work for them or give them 10 hours a week, meanwhile the poor person is unable to legally work for another organization because they are tied by work permit.

And they have sold property, borrowed money etc to find this. By the time they pay £10k for certificate of sponsorship, pay for visa fees and NHS fees they are probably spending over £20k to end up with a shitty job with shitty wages or worse not even enough hours to pay basic bills.

On top of all that the pay for care workers is rubbish especially when you consider the work involved.

I know many Nigerians who went to UK on student visa for masters, MBA etc who can only get care work after graduation.
We really need to spread the word, to those planning to Japa to the UK. Its just not worth it. With half the money you can start a business in Nigeria tht will be much more profitable in the long run. The UK is simply not the country to come and hustle. If you a skilled profesional, who's skills are in demand here (Doctor, Dentist, Nurse..) then you have a good chance of getting a job and making a resonable living, for the rest, please do not do it. There are better options if you must Japa.

Anybody who spends loads of money to come to UK right now, needs their head examined or better yet, serious prayers. The only people who should migrate to the UK, are skilled workers that have secured a JOB from Nigeria. Coming over here to 'hustle' will just leave u depressed, broke and angry. The economy is not in a good shape and will get worse this year. You have been warned O!
