Am using MTN SS on the laptop, it has now connected and exchanging bytes via some virtual routers i installed. the wifi connection is shown on my lollipop however no app is connecting.
what happens if i root the phone and install SS for Android u feel it will connect?

no am sure of it. by dialling *#*#83781#*#* it will take u to spreadtrum's engineering mode but unfortunately there is no "set imei" as it is on other spreadtrum device.

it is not an MTK phone it uses spreadtrum 8830 chipset same chip found in some itel devices

the first thing I did when I bought this phone was to install es file Explorer. I discovered that if I tried to connect it to laptop using USB cable, the phone memory won't display at all. But if I insert memory card it will display. Now my memory card is filled up but the phone memory is still empty. I tried moving my files to phone to create space in the memory card using es file Explorer no way. I removed the memory card thinking I could download straight into the phone but the phone is saying insert memory card. Why can't I use the available 11gb Rom that came with the phone.?

did u at any point use guest mode? goto users in settings delete guest mode (if u used it) then reboot. i dont rate Es file explorer try file commander thats what i use and i move, delete, and copy files to phone memory without any problem.

no i didn't say its on itel phone. am saying the chip used is similar to itels' which is not MTK. hence, MTK engineering mode app will never work
