I can't believe that this thread is so dry like this. Osun Osogbo is a world heritage site and the government did not see any positive things to promote this festival to international standard.

Sports / Nigerian Lament Over There Poor Outfit Of #teamnigeria At Rio Olympics by BNLR(m): 8:15am On Aug 06, 2016
it was a spectacular opening ceremony at Rio Olympics early this morning. and it seems the patriotic Nigerians are very much aware about the flops of the sport ministry to provide a cultural outfit at the opening ceremony parade. that was after Solomon dalung USN trend for some hours before the kick off of this spectacular ceremony started.

Team Nigeria paraded in a green and white suite which doesn't speak any of the cultural value at the worldstage. Nigeria is known to be the giant of Africa.

Travel / Re: The Modern Emerging Face Of Ibadan City. by BNLR(m): 1:15pm On Jul 31, 2016
Never call a forest that house you a jungle. OP I really like your mindset to bring Ibadan to limelight with this breathtaking picture. I can bet all this picture is just 2 local government out of the emergence of Ibadan ultra Mega city.

Ibadan deserve more recognition than what he is receiving right now. imagine Ibadan is the largest city in west Africa and the second largest if not the first now in Africa.

seriously Ibadan deserve a more dynamic administrator like Donald Duke. Amosun , Fashola. Ajimobi is trying but not enough for a city with pure potential for both agricultural and investment assets.

looking forward to see Ibadan international Airport and also seeing Ibadan to promote a festival like masquerade, Oke Ibadan festival and many more....

university of Ibadan alone is an attraction to behold. come to Ajoda housing land that has been abandon for years. Ajoda housing land in Ibadan alone is enough to accommodate the whole city of Uyo in Akwa Ibom state.

I rest my case

OSUN-OSOGBO FESTIVAL
A CALL FOR AFRICAN CULTURE RE-AWAKENING

BY Celestine Olusegun Oni.

The myth of the believed seven days raining, the Goddess coming out of water (living -Spring) to bring blessing and abundance to the land. The UNESCO world recognised Festival is here again. ( Ore Yeye o.. ). Osun-Osogbo festival is one of the most recognized African festivals that attract over 1 million tourists across the globe. It is one of the major Nigeria cultural asset that attracts world attention. It is time to put on your white regalia and experience the rich culture of the Yoruba Heritage in the south western part of Nigeria. Truly the festival is an African Tourist Asset.

Africa need to be awake on some vital contemporary issues. It is really a big taboo to neglect culture. The only man's identity is culture. It is a serious issue that invite international question on " How Africans can solve inferiority " we have various history and background which I believe it is things worth celebrated. Even if we can worship it. It doesn't mean we can not appreciate it. It is so painful that I had forgot to continue with my discussion on how we can be part of this coming Osun-Osogbo festival this summer in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria.

Osun-Osogbo Shrine located in the heart of the capital city of Osun State, is one of the protected relics of the olden generation, that harbour the Goddess of Water, who always come out every once in a year to bless those who are looking for the fruit of the womb and also heals many infamity in the land. In blessed memory of " SUSAN WENGER" "Adunni Olorisa". A German female Tourist and Researcher who explore the shores of the African green ecology help to promote the shrine into an international standard. UNESCO endorsement inspire many other African heritage. And also brings this August festival into limelight.

Osogbo

Be part of the history as you participate in this coming festival. International tourist arrive seven days into the events which will be officially announced by the Monarch of the Osogbo land. All what you need to do is to book your flight ahead in other to avoid last minute tourist rush to Nigeria this summer. local and day visitor ensure they did not miss the Grand Finale of the festival where A Virgin lady carry a sacrifice from the Kong's Palace to the shrine. It is endurance movement that is full of side attraction as various organisation come to support and display there potentials. Local sourvernirs and art work will keep your bag full back to your destination. ( just remember the responsible spending towards responsible Tourism) #buynaija #buylocal #Nigeriaoutdoors

Phones / Re: Excessive Glorification Of Android Phones. by BNLR(m): 11:16am On Jun 19, 2016
Till today Many Nigerian don't really know what they want from Mobile device. I bought my Nokia X2 in April 2011 and still using it very intact. It was the time when whatsapp just introduced and make blackberry user cool down. I was attracted to the phone with a wonderful application, the screen that is comparable to the bb then and the live chat plus amazing picture editor which i don't think i can find anywhere again. Till today, i am still enjoying the phone because of not been intimidated by trending BB palava then. "when last did you hear someone boasting of BB Pin again" whatsapp has taken over.

Anyway, i have been thinking of buying another quality phone with a good camera, picture editor and durability.

I am a little down right now and it seems this project seems not to work out fine.

1. Some demonic goats enter my farm and eat the just germinating maize and leave the maize struggling for survival

2. The weed seems to be have more nutrient than the maize with the speed they are growing over the maize

3. I think i am doing more than what i can control and nobody to help

4. Am already clearing another land for the tomatoes which i planted for nursery a week ago and no traces of germination

5. Now i have no option than to think of providing a perimeter fence to keep off the goat and fulanis that always patronize my area

6. Your advice is needed and the mode can do the needful

7. I am already thinking of a plan B of watermelon or something that will be more lucrative than this maize or cassava
