Education / Re: Letter to Potential undergraduates. by bodee(m): 10:46pm On Jun 18, 2016
Don't cram, just understand everything you are being taught very very well such that you reflect on the knowledge gained in solving societal problem. Be careless about your grade! School rewards grade but life rewards a problem solver. I believe most of us have seen the movie- 3 idiots.
Understand and reflect!
It always pain me whenever ladies have to offer their dignity for grade or guys have to engage in nefarious activities in order to settle one lecturer. It's somehow easy for a lecturer to reject money but a good number of lecturer can't reject bogus amount of money from yy guys.
I think it's really a malady for a brilliant chap to be competing with all sort of criminals for grade.
Outshine yourself and not others.

Indeed, but as a man, your substance lies in what God has said, not your ego. For example, when Sarah said to send away Hagar and Ishmael, thank God Abraham listened to what God had to say on the matter neither his ego nor his emotion. It turned out Sarah was right after all.
yea, the man is expected to be the guardian angel of the house. If the man is okay, then the family is expected to be okay... there are no delinquent children rather what we have is a delinquent father.
Religion / Insights On Genesis 16 And 17 by bodee(m): 5:50pm On Jun 18, 2016
Men ought to be sober creature and not be moved by humanly emotion but rather critical thinking. This same way Adam yielded to Eve, is the same way Abram yielded to Sarai. The wife is to be subjected to the husband and not the other way round. The sentence "my wife doesn't agree and so I yielded..." is not an acceptable statement. As a man , don't be passive but rather be active, decisive, clear headed and straight forwarded.
If your God ordained wife could be a problem for you just like Adam and Eve.
God is a God of justice even to all and sundry.
As a man, you must not be feebleminded!
****

Walking before God, walking in the spirit, abiding in him, Having God placed before us brings about perfection and blessings. Our son ship or blessing is a covenanted one. Hence, covenant means a pact, an agreement, a binding between two parties. Hence, a default usually desecrates the covenant.

At 25 when a lot of your so called christian brothers still call home to demand for hand out fees ? You want them to get marry and bring double problem upon the poor man who is probably struggling graduate a child through the university.

Na their papa go dey feed the wife abii, na their papa go dey buy pikin nappy. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Thanks OP for your Epistle. Go and get marry on your own. Leave the single brothers alone and let them plan for their lives. Ok?

The op has stated a very cogent biblical injunction here, he said it is better to marry than to burn and that should bring about a clarion call on us to solve the money problem and be financially independent and besides, there are 100 and one ways to build wealth but first things first- seek God's face.
Health / Re: As A Worker In A Construction Site, Can I Take Tramadol. Pls! by bodee(m): 9:31pm On Jun 17, 2016
health2wealth:

Painkiller like Tramadol will eventually weigh heavily on your liver and many are among the causes of Cardiovascular diseases. Rather than that, try and use product that boost your calcium and eat food that will increase your blood. Hard labour use up blood and calcium in the body and as such you need to replace these. As for the blood, I will recommend you taking the 'ugu' leaf. Wash it with salt, rinse it well, Squeeze it to extract the water. You can drink it with Malt. Do that twice a week for the duration of your work. As for Calcium, I can recommend, Chelated CalMag (Read about it here - http://health2wealth.com.ng/product/gnld-chelated-cal-mag/). I wish you well in your job.
I do take the mixture of peak milk(tin) and 3 eggs. The ugu leaf is not readily accessible here. Thanks

Health / As A Worker In A Construction Site, Can I Take Tramadol. Pls! by bodee(m): 10:13pm On Jun 09, 2016
I just started work as a labourer in a construction site. I have worked for two days now but those days especially the first day was like hell for me; the work is just too strenuous and energy sapping.
Then, I overheard something like tramadol from the coworkers. I intend to use tramadol just to ease pain while working and also make me very effective and efficient in the course of my working on site. I tend to work for 2 to 3 weeks before I engage in teaching job.
I intend to use 50mg every morning whenever I am on site. I don't have any health challenge and I don't take alcohol.
Please am I good to go?

It is your own main responsibility to make traffic flow towards your business and not on the peasant sales girl cos hers is to attend to customer that cares to show face and sell in the most professional and courteous methods. Her idleness should just be a challenge on you. Do more of strategic advertisements, expand your business and make goods to be competitively attractive and see traffic flow to your business.
Best regards!

hmmn, you must be a student or an alumni of OAU.

Albeit, beards or no beards, it doesn't matter, what actually matters is the guy's character and impacts on the society. Whatsoever is considered as a sane or decent dressing is simply a product of culture which is in itself even dynamic and usually imported.

Business / Re: How Nigeria Can Benefit From Textile Manufacturing Revival by bodee(m): 5:36pm On Jun 01, 2016
How I wish our economic policy makers can have access to this piece and read. Government needs to revamp the manufacturing sector first and after sometime impose heavy import duties on imported goods; this is to enable our local industries not only to survive but rather to thrive. Nigerians should still be grateful to our eastern guys but the government have to provide the enabling environment.

Business is about solving a problem. In times like this, think, think and think again before engaging in business. Since, you said the dry cleaning business is well saturated then I think it is only innovation, hard work, aggressive advertisement and price competiviness that can bail you out. As long as you have passion or interest in what you are doing; you will not only survive but you will thrive.

I am about to get 100,000 naira from a friend of mine and the deal is that I give him 30,000 naira on a monthly basis for the next 5 months. This will total 150,000 naira; meaning he will make a profit of 10,000 naira on a monthly basis. Although, I believe I can make a minimum of ×5 of this my friend profit on a monthly basis. But pls is the deal worth it?
Thanks.

Business / Re: My Question On Price Haggling by bodee(m): 10:10pm On May 20, 2016
MRBrownJ:
as much as you have the right to put whatever policy in place, haggling is the way many are doing business and they couldnt buy anything without trying to bargain prices down for a sweet discount. i know it is "customary" in China, for example as EVERYONE haggles there. also, you have to sometimes be flexible, if/when a customer becomes a regular, and buys many items at a time.... like to show appreciation in some way.

btw dont you ever bargain prices from your supplier, in order to offer the best prices to your customers?
I did that initially but now it's a matter select goods and pay-no story
Business / Re: My Question On Price Haggling by bodee(m): 9:55pm On May 20, 2016
sonnie10:
For no haggling system to work, you have to do a market survey to find out the best price your competitors are offering. Once you know their price, all you have to do is to bring your price a little lower. That means nothing more and nothing less. If a customer walks into your store the first time and leaves because of price, he/she would certainly come back after visiting other places.

But you have to have very good communication skills so that the customer does not feel that you are too rigid. The reason is that since haggling is a common practice, your refusal might be interpreted as high handedness and some customer might resent dealing with you.

In essence, and this is generally in life, how you say what you say makes a great difference. Trust me, some customer would prefer to buy an item you have say for #200 elsewhere for #220 because of the manner in which the other person presented the price.

You can always start with this line, "Sir, our price is the cheapest you can get this item around here, and we stand behind our quality." what this does is that it impresses on the customer, so that even if he leaves, he is only leaving to compare prices. Trust me, he will come back knowing that you were truthful and that is one more customer you have gained for life.

Good luck
whao! I really love this; thanks so much

Business / My Question On Price Haggling by bodee(m): 11:54pm On May 19, 2016
Good moment to everyone, I am thinking of making a policy of #no price haggling# in my business just as the way most wholesalers do though for now I do sell only to final consumers. I come about this because the price of my goods seem to be relatively better and seem to be the best compare to others and the demand is high which of course translates into high turnover for me. I think it's better for customers to trust you and your price.

Personally, I am not that comfortable with price haggling as it tends to waste time and it may also translate to playing with customer/client intelligence. I think a seller ought to have a predetermined conception of a particular profit that he or she wants to make on a particular product. I also think price haggling should just apply to car selling/ auction/bidding and not on general products.

Pls which is better for a thriving entrepreneur; price haggling or no price haggling? Thanks
