Agriculture / When Are Pigs Ready For Slaughter - At What Age? by BrosG007: 12:54pm On Sep 28
In short, pigs are usually ready for slaughter when they're between 5 to 7 months old. Farmers decide based on how big the pigs are, how they've grown, and what the market wants. Knowing these things can help you raise healthy pigs and sell good-quality pork.
In pig farming, knowing the right time to slaughter pigs is really important. As a pig farmer, you need to make sure the pigs are the right size and quality for selling.

Pigs grow at different rates depending on their breed, what they eat, and how healthy they are. Usually, pigs are ready to be slaughtered when they're between 5 to 7 months old. By this time, they've grown enough muscles and fat for good meat quality.

Weight Of Pig Matters
The weight of a pig is a big factor. Farmers usually slaughter pigs when they weigh between 200 to 300 pounds (around 90 to 135 kilograms). This weight means the meat will be good and there’s enough of it to make it worth selling.

In case of slaughtering pigs, different markets have different preferences. Farmers pay attention to what buyers want and adjust when they slaughter pigs based on these preferences. This helps farmers sell their pigs at the right time and make more money.

Signs To Know If A Pig Is Ready For Slaughter
Farmers and vets look for signs that a pig is ready for slaughter. They check things like >>>> CONTINUE READING 👇

Education / High School Spelling: Should You Write It As One Word Or Two? by BrosG007: 9:14am On Sep 27
Recently, many people are confused about whether "high school" should be written as one word or two. English is always changing, and grammar rules evolve over time. So, it's natural to question what's correct today.

Traditionally, "high school" was written as two words. This followed standard grammar rules for compound nouns, where two separate words are used. However, in recent years, there has been a trend toward combining words like "high school" into one word—making it "highschool." This change is mostly seen in informal writing, influenced by the fast pace of modern communication, especially with social media and texting.

Still, not everyone agrees with this new approach. Some people prefer to stick with the traditional rule and write "high school" as two words, believing it is more accurate and consistent.

Ultimately, there is no definitive answer. The choice between writing "high school" as one word or two depends on context, the writing style you're following, and personal preference. In formal writing, like academic papers, it's best to use "high school" as two words. However, in casual writing or texting, "highschool" might be acceptable.

Education / Canadian Universities Offering Free Online Courses With Verified Certificates by BrosG007: 2:14am On Sep 27
You can find many free online courses in Canada that offer certificates. These courses allow you to learn from home without spending a lot of money.

Many of these courses provide recognized certificates when you finish. This means you can earn a degree from Canada while staying in your own country.

Whether you want to update your skills, learn something new, change careers, or just keep your mind active, there is a course for you. Check out our list of the 15 best free online courses with certificates in Canada.

Why Choose Free Online Courses in Canada?

Online learning lets students study most or all of a course without going to a physical campus. This type of education is great for those who cannot attend classes in person.

Students communicate with teachers and classmates through email, online forums, video calls, and social media. Many programs include an online system to create a virtual classroom. In Canada, you can find free certificate courses, and some government-sponsored programs offer free online certifications.

Pros and Cons of Online Classes

Online education is popular and can be as engaging as traditional classroom learning. However, some people think online programs are not as good as in-person education.

Statistics show that over 6 million students in the U.S. take at least one online course, and many study for entirely online degrees. The popularity of online certifications is growing, but it's not for everyone. It’s important to weigh the benefits and drawbacks before deciding.

How Do Online College Classes Work?
Online education uses a Learning Management System (LMS) like Blackboard or Moodle. This system helps students and teachers share information.

Course materials, lectures, and assignments are sent through email or an online system. Students submit their work on forums or through specific links. Some programs may also use online proctoring to ensure academic honesty during assessments.

Family / Is There Any Connection In Using Cell Phone And Cooking Gas Explosion? by BrosG007: 10:46pm On Sep 11
You might have heard someone say - "Please don't let your cellphone closer to your gas cylinder while working. It will explode"
Yes, the truth is that the radiation of the phone is always high, but will it connect to gas flame and result to explosion?

I really don't get this battle between phone and cooking gas. Is the phone more dangerous than the fire that is burning on top of the gas cylinder? At least for those using camping gas.

Some people usually prepare their meals at night and early in the morning, and they make use of cell phone when electricity is not available at the moment.

For now, there have been no science studies or evidence to highlight on this point how can a phone connect to a gas cylinder or cooker to Explode.

Is it when making call or not at all?

I will advise and recommend that >>>> READ FULL ARTICLE HERE:

Agriculture / Why Ugu Plant (pumpkin Leaves) Dried Up After Applying Fertilizer - Any Solution by BrosG007: 10:05am On Sep 01
Do you noticed your ugu plants dried up gradually after you applied fertilizer on it?
What can you do to revive it again?

Do you think it the fertilizer that's shrinking it?

First question should be - which of the fertilizer did you use?

So, sorry. Fertilizers should be applied 5cm away from from the root of the plant, and applying the right quantity is very important. There is nothing you can do than to irrigate it with enough water.

Fertilizers are applied at 5 gram per plant and 5-10 cm away from the root zone.

Irrigate your ugu plants morning and evening to step down the acidity of the fertilizer. Enough water morning and evening

Next time, use NPK 20 10 10.

Knowing the causes behind this issue and how to address it is important for preventing future losses.

One of the most common reasons ugu plants die after applying fertilizer is over-fertilization. Applying too much fertilizer can lead to a condition known as fertilizer burn. This occurs when excessive nutrients, particularly salts, accumulate in the soil, drawing moisture out of the plant roots and causing them to dehydrate.

The leaves may turn yellow or brown, starting from the edges and tips, and the plant may wilt or dry up. If you suspect over-fertilization, flush the soil with plenty of water to wash away excess nutrients.

Agriculture / Why Is Sunburn On My Ugu Plants (pumpkin Leaves) - And What Is The Best Solution by BrosG007: 12:44pm On Aug 28
If it was planted in sac bags, then no proper ventilation.

Sometimes, it is the weather. The heat is too much and that is what causes the sickness to it. Keep watering the ones remaining, they will pick up when rain comes and weather change.

Sunburn to me, is due to the high temperature causing it.

One other reasons is, most people apply to much fertilizer to their ugu plants, which ends up burning the plants. If you are experiencing this, then it means there is too much of some fertilizer nutrient in the soil.

What Do You Think? Please Leave Suggestions. Thanks 👍

Education / Jamb Vs Post Utme: Can You Use Jamb Past Questions For Post Utme? by BrosG007: 9:53am On Jul 18
Can You Use JAMB Past Questions for Post UTME?

Understanding JAMB and Post UTME

• JAMB stands for Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board. It's a Nigerian entrance exam for universities.

• Post UTME is another exam taken after JAMB, specifically by students who want to attend a particular university.

Can JAMB Past Questions Help with Post UTME?

Short answer: Yes, but with caution.

While JAMB and Post UTME are different exams, they share some similarities:

1. Both often cover subjects related to your chosen course.

2. Some question formats might be similar.

So, studying JAMB past questions can:

1. Help you get used to exam conditions, because practice makes perfect!

2. The more you practice, the faster you'll be.

3. Give you an idea of the type of questions asked. This can help you prepare better.

But Remember
* Post UTME is different: Each university sets its own Post UTME, so the focus and difficulty level can vary.

* Don't rely solely on past questions: Try to understand the concepts behind the answers.

* Combine with other study materials: Textbooks, lecture notes, and practice questions from your chosen university are important.

The fee for the ABU Zaria Post UTME is typically N3,000.

This amount has been consistent in recent years, but it's good to check the official ABU website or portal closer to the application period for any updates or changes.

Politics / What We Know About Thomas Matthew Crooks, The Suspected Trump Rally Shooter by BrosG007: 11:21am On Jul 15
Thomas Matthew Crooks (September 20, 2003 – July 13, 2024) was an American whose attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the former President of the United States and Republican Party nominee for the 2024 presidential election, shocked the nation on July 13, 2024. Here is a detailed biography of his life and the events surrounding the tragic incident.

Early Life and Education
Thomas Matthew Crooks was born on September 20, 2003, in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Raised in a middle to upper-middle-class neighborhood, he was the son of two licensed social workers. Crooks attended Bethel Park High School, where he was known as an above-average student. Despite his academic achievements, he experienced bullying for his quiet demeanor and occasional unconventional attire, such as camouflage hunting outfits.

Crooks had diverse interests, including playing chess, video games, and learning to code. His academic prowess was recognized when he received a $500 "star award" from the National Math and Science Initiative. Although he attempted to join his high school's rifle team, he did not make the cut due to challenges with marksmanship during tryouts.

After graduating from high school in 2022, Crooks pursued further education at the Community College of Allegheny County, where he earned an associate degree in engineering science. Just two months before the tragic events of July 13, 2024, he completed his studies and began working as a dietary aide at a local nursing home.

Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump 2024
On July 13, 2024, during a political rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, Thomas Matthew Crooks carried out a shocking act of violence. Armed with a rifle, he positioned himself on a nearby rooftop and fired at Donald Trump while the former President was delivering a speech. The gunfire injured Trump and two attendees, resulting in the death of 50-year-old Corey Comperatore and critical injuries to two others.

Crooks' actions prompted an immediate response from the Secret Service Counter Assault Team, who swiftly neutralized him. The FBI launched an investigation into the incident to determine Crooks' motives, which remained unclear in the immediate aftermath.

Thomas Matthew Crooks was a registered Republican, having activated his voter registration shortly after turning 18 in September 2021. Despite his political affiliation, he had only participated in voting during the 2022 midterm elections prior to the events of July 13, 2024.

Are you looking to study at Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU)? Wondering what the cut-off marks are for your desired course? This article provides up-to-date information to DELSU cut-off marks for the 2024/2025 academic session, including some history and the range of courses offered.

Delta State University (DELSU) Cut-Off Marks for 2024/2025
A cut-off mark is the minimum score you need to qualify for admission consideration into a specific program at a university. There are typically two types of cut-off marks to consider at DELSU:

> JAMB Cut-Off Mark: This is the minimum UTME score set by DELSU for all courses.

> Departmental Cut-Off Mark: This is the minimum score set by each individual department within DELSU for their specific programs. Departmental cut-off marks are usually higher than the JAMB cut-off mark.

DELSU Cut-Off Marks for 2024/2025
The official JAMB cut-off mark for DELSU for the 2024/2025 academic session is 140. This means you need to score at least 140 in your UTME to be eligible to apply for admission.

However, keep in mind that the departmental cut-off marks will vary depending on the program. Unfortunately, the official departmental cut-off marks for 2024/2025 haven't been released yet. But, we can refer to the previous year (2023/2024) as a guide.

Here's a range for departmental cut-off marks (UTME scores) from the previous year:

• Mostly between 40 and 50 for courses in the Faculty of Agriculture, Arts, Education (except Nursing Science), and Social Sciences.

• Significantly higher (around 65-70) for courses in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and some Science courses (e.g., Computer Science, Medical Laboratory Science).

Important Note: These are just a general range based on the previous year. The actual cut-off marks for 2024/2025 may be higher or lower.

How to Stay Updated on DELSU Cut-Off Marks
The official DELSU website (https://www.delsu.edu.ng/) is the most reliable source for the latest information on cut-off marks. They typically release the departmental cut-off marks after the JAMB UTME results are released.

Agriculture / Pig Farming In Nigeria: How To Calculate Profit For Pig Farming Business by BrosG007: 10:56am On Jul 01
Raising pigs can be a good way to earn money in Nigeria, but it's important to know how to figure out if you're making a profit. Whether you're just starting or have been farming for a while, understanding the money side of things can help you run your farm better and make more money.

Figuring out how much money you're making from pig farming is important for your business. With these tips, you can make sure your pig farming business is successful and makes a good profit.

The first thing to do is figure out how much it costs to raise pigs. There are two main types of costs:

1. Fixed Costs: These are things you have to pay no matter how many pigs you have. For example, rent for your farm, insurance, and buying equipment.

2. Variable Costs: These change based on how many pigs you're raising and what's happening in the market. This includes things like food for the pigs, medicine, and paying workers.

How To Calculate Revenue From Pig Farming Business

Revenue is the money you make from selling your pigs. Here's how to figure it out:

• Price per Pig: Decide how much you can sell each pig for. This can change depending on how many pigs are being sold and what people are willing to pay.

• Number of Pigs Sold: Multiply the price per pig by how many pigs you sell in a certain time period, like a month or a year.

Finding Your Profit From Pig Farming Business

Once you know how much money you're making and how much you're spending, finding out your profit is easy:

- Profit = Total Revenue - Total Costs

Let's look at a simple example:

Agriculture / How Many Baby Pigs (piglets) Can A Grown-up Pig Have? by BrosG007: 10:12pm On Jun 30
Pigs are famous for having lots of babies, which is important for farming and food production. Normally, a grown-up sow can have between 8 and 12 piglets at once. But it can be more or less, depending on the kind of pig, their genes, how healthy they are, and how well farmers take care of them. Farmers work hard to pick the right pigs and take good care of them to have lots of healthy piglets for farms.

Knowing how many baby pigs a grown-up pig can have is important for you and anyone interested in pig farming.

How Many Babies (Piglets) Can A Pig Have?

Female pigs, called sows, become adults and can have babies when they are about 5 to 8 months old, depending on their breed and how fast they grow. Once they are ready, sows can get pregnant and give birth to litters of piglets.

The number of piglets born at once can vary for different reasons:

• Some types of pigs have more babies in each litter than others. Each breed has its own typical number of piglets.

• The parents genes play a big part in how many piglets are born. Farmers pick parents with good genes for having lots of babies.

• Giving pigs good food and keeping them healthy is very important for having big litters. Healthy sows that get enough to eat tend to have more babies.
