What happened to the original one on it?

Nothing. The mechanic just removed it. Claiming it will hold the camshaft stronger.

Do you have a picture of what you are talking about?

The Allen key on camshaft actuator was changed with screws.

Check the camshaft VVT actuator if it’s okay, or not.
Have the camshafts checked if it’s okay and has not been worked on, leave it, if it has been worked on, replace it and call it a day.

Thank you. Will do that.

Therein lies your problem. Pls, it’s best to recheck all your mechanic did with another competent technician.

Thank you. Do you recommend I changed the camshaft or change the screws back to the Allen key?

Does the car make a 2 seconds rattling sound on start up when it’s cold?

Nope. However, I replaced my camshafts while back the mechanic replaced the Allen key on the camshaft gears with screws claiming it will hold the camshaft better.

Hello,

I have this following code on my car. I have replaced the vvt solenoid and also flush my car of dirty. Yet this code are still on

Drive that car for some days then rescan and post codes again.

Done that, even replaced the vvt solenoid. And now the same codes are back again.

It’s part of your I-vtec. You may need to check if your oil is dirty or low, then get fresh oil and filter. Remove that part and clean the screen and that sensor using appropriate cleaners. Afterwards, you need to install it back in reverse order after-which you will have to clear codes and take car for a spin to test it.

Done that, now I have this code left .

Good news. Please what's the cost of changing the engine seat?

Pardon me, it's my first car, please.

My car had 3 and 1 transmission mount. Each cost 10-25k depends on the quality.

Did you change with new one or toks? If you fill the engine oil to gauge will the code still be there ? Hope the camshaft or actuator has not been welded ?

The mechanic said it was toks, yes the code is still there after gauge. I don't think so, as the one was replacement no welding.

@Burchester

Oh so it’s after the immediately after a camshaft replacement that you began noticing this issue? Why didn’t you say that before undecided obviously there’s something wrong with the replacement or it’s installation.

Anytime a car develops issues, especially in Nigeria . . . the first thing to flashback to is the last repairs/maintenance you had done on the vehicle.

Yes had this code after my camshaft was fixed, and the code was still there, so the mechanic said we should replace the camshaft as the code still persist, So I changed the camshaft, yet again the code is still back.

Did you replace camshaft. It could be the reason

Yes, I did replaced the camshaft.

I’m sure something must have prompted you to attempt changing the engine mounts. Vibrations right?

If the vibrations worsened then it’s a sign that the job wasn’t well done although the faulty vtc issue will definitely throw your vehicle into a limp mode and give it a reduced engine power hence some vibrations too.

Thank found out. It was the transmission mount that got broken. Also the P0011, was thinking it was due to CAMSHAFT replacement.

As I said check your vtc solenoid first for loose or damaged wiring. It’s the one mounted on the back of the engine valve cover on the power steering side. If the wiring looks okay then there’s something wrong either with the solenoids filter/screens (dirty needs cleaning), the solenoid itself or the vtc gear on the camshaft. Check for faults in the order I wrote them out.

I guess the oxygen sensor code must have been there for a while right or did it come on with the other code too? I don’t see the mechanic causing that one except you left the vehicle with him overnight and he did ‘abracadabra’ under your car undecided

Oh okay thank you. But the vibrations could it be the engine seat were not properly installed ?./ Since its only when On (D) and idle. Before it wasn't like that.
Car Talk / Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Burchester: 11:48pm On Nov 21, 2022
Conner44:

For the P0011, If truly the issue started immediately after the engine mount change (and if you changed the rear mount near the firewall) then it means that your yeye mechanic must have damaged the wires leading to your VTC solenoid.

As for the other code it’s your catalyst saying it’s tired or you’re burning oil.

What kind of engine is this and what type of oil do you run it on?

1-2.4, V4.
