The minister of information in the federal republic of Nigeria , Lai Mohammed has revealed that at the moment no Nigerian is hungry….

He said this as a response to Nigerians complaining of hunger on Facebook, twitter , Instagram , television stations and radio stations due to the Lockdown…The minister of information said that the federal government has disbursed over 100 billion Naira to poor Nigerians and vulnerable persons affected by the Lock down all over the country .

in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, Nigeria has declared a total lockdown to help increase social distance and also help in curtailing the number of people getting infected on a daily from the virus.

Non essential companies have all been closed and religious gatherings of any kind has been banned which has resulted in some Pastors crying out and claiming the lockdown is targeted at stopping the people from fellowshipping with God:

Pastor Chris oyakhilome of Christ Embassy church claimed that Pastors are not ordinary people and that anyone who assaults a pastor is in danger

Pastor Chris oyakhilome has warned against the arrest and assault of Pastors amid the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.

The founder and head Pastor of Loveworld Ministries a.k.a Christ Embassy said this while reacting to a report of Pastors being arrested by government officials in a bid to enforce social distancing in churches.

Explaining a recent ordeal which played out, Pastor Chris recalled how a member of a taskforce boasted about arresting a Pastor.

The Christ Embassy Founder said;

“He was excited he arrested a Pastor. Terrible! But he is not the first to arrest a pastor. Jesus was arrested and Jesus was doing what the people didn’t want Him to do and the Apostles did what they were not allowed to do. The Government said, ‘Don’t preach in this name anymore’. They went on preaching. Right?! They arrested them.

“So it is not enough to say, well, if you do what the Government say not to do, then we have the power to arrest you. Arrest! That Pastor was not the first person to do what Government said don’t do. When I heard of it, I didn’t judge him because what if he was praying and that was the guidance he got?”

Pastor Chris who stated that those who arrest Pastors are in more danger than they can imagine, added that Pastors are not ordinary people.

He said;

“Let me tell you, it is not everyone that will take some of the steps that we might take. Not everyone. The Holy Spirit knows exactly how He wants things done. It’s up to Him. What I’m always saying is that, anybody who assaults a pastor is in danger.

“He is in more trouble than the Pastor. Pastors are not ordinary people. If you like you can call them ordinary men, that is up to you, but the Spirit that works with them, when that Spirit is fighting you, nobody can help you. No amount of prayer, no one can help you.

“It is only people who say they are Christians that fight ministers of the gospel. Others when they know, they remove their hands, He is a pastor. They shift away, but the one that is a Christian is bold, he enters the church. So, if you are a pastor and they assault you. Don’t feel bad, you are not the first, don’t feel bad. But, for the rest pray for your pastors, remember to pray for them. Never condemn a pastor. Never. Don’t ever do it. Don’t do it. Don’t join those who do it. Don’t! Keep your mouth to yourself.”

Governor seyi Makinde of Oyo state tests positive for Coronavirus..following this development, the Governor says he’s self isolating and following health protocol.

“I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate,” the governor shared on his twitter page.

He’s the third governor who has turned out positive in the last fortnight after Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State and Bauchi State’s Bala Mohammed.

President Buhari declares curfew in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun State as part of measures to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in Nigeria. He said this during a nationwide broadcast on Sunday. The curfew will begin from Monday March 30th by 11pm.

Based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, I am directing the cessation of all movements in Lagos and the FCT for an initial period of 14 days with effect from 11pm on Monday, 30th March 2020. This restriction will also apply to Ogun State due to its close proximity to Lagos and the high traffic between the two States.

All citizens in these areas are to stay in their homes. Travel to or from other states should be postponed. All businesses and offices within these locations should be fully closed during this period.

The Governors of Lagos and Ogun States as well as the Minister of the FCT have been notified. Furthermore, heads of security and intelligence agencies have also been briefed.

We will use this containment period to identify, trace and isolate all individuals that have come into contact with confirmed cases. We will ensure the treatment of confirmed cases while restricting further spread to other States.
This order does not apply to hospitals and all related medical establishments as well as organizations in health care related manufacturing and distribution.
Furthermore, commercial establishments such as;
a. food processing, distribution and retail companies;
b. petroleum distribution and retail entities,
c. power generation, transmission and distribution companies; and
d. private security companies are also exempted.
Although these establishments are exempted, access will be restricted and monitored.
Workers in telecommunication companies, broadcasters, print and electronic media staff who can prove they are unable to work from home are also exempted.

All seaports in Lagos shall remain operational in accordance with the guidelines I issued earlier. Vehicles and drivers conveying essential cargoes from these Ports to other parts of the country will be screened thoroughly before departure by the Ports Health Authority.

Furthermore, all vehicles conveying food and other essential humanitarian items into these locations from other parts of the country will also be screened thoroughly before they are allowed to enter these restricted areas.
Accordingly, the Hon. Minister of Health is hereby directed to redeploy all Port Health Authority employees previously stationed in the Lagos and Abuja Airports to key roads that serve as entry and exit points to these restricted zones.

Movements of all passenger aircraft, both commercial and private jets, are hereby suspended. Special permits will be issued on a needs basis” he said

Nasir EL-RUFAI tests positive for Coronavirus

Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai tests positive for Coronavirus.

The governor made the announcement in a statement he personally signed which was released to the media this evening. According to him, he took the test for the virus earlier in the week and would be going into isolation in compliance with recommendations of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

El-Rufai becomes the second Nigerian state governor to test positive to COVID-19.

Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, is also in isolation after testing positive to the virus.

Earlier this week, I submitted a sample for the Covid-19 test. The result came in this evening, and I regret to say that it is positive.

According to the protocols for managing Covid-19, I am in self-isolation as required by the case management guidelines of the NCDC for a someone that is no showing symptoms.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has said the Lagos state Coronavirus cases may rise up to 39,000

Abayomi at a briefing on Friday urged people to adhere to the social distancing advice of the state government to check the spread of the disease

“Our mathematical modelling shows that the worst-case scenario is that we may see up to 39,000 cases in Lagos, but if everyone practises good social distancing, the figure will be limited to 13,000.

The video below captures the moment some Police storms a church in Zimbabwe, and flogged the congregation for holding service

The police officers stormed the church and started flogging the church members, including the pastors for refusing to obey the stay at home order of the government amid coronavirus pandemic.

In the video, the members are seen running helter-skelter as the police officers beat them violently.

According to Victor Asemota who uploaded the video, he wrote;

Report had it that Ghana records first Coronavirus death yesterday, Saturday 21st March 2020.

The victim is a 61-year-old Lebanese male trader, who resides in Kumasi, Ghana…he was said to have reported to a health centre after feeling symptoms of fever (temp 39.4 degrees Celcius), and cough.


According to GhanaWeb, the man however was tested, and he tested positive for Coronavirus

Moreover, His case was the 11th confirmed case of the virus in the country

The deputy Health Minister Alex Abban of the country, who confirmed the death, said, “The information I got from the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service is that that person (the Lebanese man) has died. He died today (Saturday).”

Meanwhile, Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo announced the closure of all the country’s borders to human traffic in a televised address on Saturday.

“All our borders, that is, by land, sea and air, will be closed to human traffic for the next two weeks beginning midnight on Sunday,” he said.

Ghana has recorded 21 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday

Zimbabwe had reported it’s first case of coronavirus….this was revealed by the Zimbabwean government on Friday March 20, 2020

The Health Minister of the state, Obadiah Moyo who made the announcement on state television ZTV, said the coronavirus case is a man who returned to his home in the tourist resort town of Victoria Falls from Britain last weekend.

He said;

“This is the first case of Covid-19 in Zimbabwe. The patient is a 38-year-old Caucasian man … who had travelled to Manchester in the UK on the 7th of March and returned to his home in Victoria Falls on the 15th of March via South Africa.”

AFP reported that though the country’s public health system has been suffering for years from a lack of equipment and drugs, the Zimbabwean government has announced a raft of steps to prevent the virus from spreading and they include the cancellation of public and sporting events, and constraints on gatherings. Schools will also close on Tuesday March 24.
