Acts 9:3-7
King James Version

3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

This a reported speech from Paul to luke

Acts 22:6-9 King James Version

6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

This was a direct report from Paul when he was in court

If you read act 22 verse 1 to 9 you will understand it very well that they want to persecute him that was the reason why he lie that those who are with him didn't hear the voice. But when he get back home he narrate different story to luke

Paul wasn't the author of the book of Acts ,Luke is.

cheesy Luke was the one narrating in Acts 9......

in chapter 22......Paul was in front of a tribunal explaining himself and giving his own experience.....

So instead of lying to the court about his experience , he went on and lied only about the light and what he heard??..... can you see how you sound cheesy

You're just so so funny

cheesy Lol, Mr man Paul has faced far more and cruel persecutions with no fear.....so Your explanation holds no water

You're also not in the position to tell us ancient manuscripts were wrong cheesy

Paul was one of other apostles of Christ, stop trying to daint him, there's no where in the Bible that suggests Paul lied.....Thankia

He preached christ till he died

Version you use is a NLT or the like which means the bible was re-translated to fit thier understanding after so much criticisms and condemnation, especially that of KJV

This is what King James Bible says

And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

The men with me saw the light, but did not hear the voice of the one who was speaking to me. Good News Translation

And those who were with me saw indeed the light and were afraid, but they heard not the voice of Him that spoke to me. KJ21

And they that were with me beheld indeed the light, but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me. ASV

My traveling companions saw the light, but they didn’t hear the voice of the one who spoke to me. CED

to name a few
Lol cheesy There's nothing contradictory in those verses, it's only your lack of understanding that caused it...First you claimed Paul isn't a Jew, I shouldn't have taken you serious in the first place

The first is a narration from a third party(Luke) reporting what happened Acts 9. While in Acts 22 Paul was giving his own encounter about what he saw....

The original greek word (akouo) can used as both hear or understand depending on the context , they heard the voice but couldn't understand what was being said....

The voice they heard in 9:7 is in the genitive case with regard to those with Paul. In Acts 22:9, the “voice” they do not hear is in the accusative case. When the object of the verb “to hear” is in the accusative case, the sense of the verb is often “to hear with understanding.”

Mathew 13:15 gave a perfect description of those verses

"For this people's heart has grown dull and with their ears they can barely hear (akouo) and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear (akouo) with their ears and understand (akouo) with their heart and turn, and I would heal them"

4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”.......Now, the Lord was speaking only to Paul.......Reason why they couldn't understand That which was being said

Lastly Paul's experience was a special and exclusive one....... The men who were traveling with him only saw the light but saw no one

Don't you understand my post?. I was pointing out contradictions in your Bible.

Did paul and his people hear voice or not?. I didn't say they heard the voice. I said your Bible says they heard voice and at the same time, the same Acts of Apostle said they did not hear voice. This is evidently contradicted lie by Paul. Next time try to read, digest, understand before you reply.

And if you don't know what to say I can understand that because no Christian in Nigeria has been able to answer it. It has put lots of pastors to shame for years including Adeboye and Oyedepo. The funniest one was the guy in ilorin who called himself pastor Al-maruf was shamelessly defeated with this question in 1999. If you want I can look for his clip and post it here
Lol, it's obvious you aren't intelligent and deceitful cheesy

where's the contradiction?? or you were drunk while reading the passages?

6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.

8 “‘Who are you, Lord?’ I asked.

“ ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,’ he replied. 9 My companions saw the light, but they did not understand the voice of him who was speaking to me.

10 “‘What shall I do, Lord?’ I asked.

“ ‘Get up,’ the Lord said, ‘and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.

You're really good at your lies , I posted the passages once again cheesy continue with your lies..... Naso you go dey run from pillar to post cheesy You go find am tire

Paul was not israelite. Paul was a lawyer and later travelled, learned about Jesus and deliberately changed his teachings as documented in your Bible (Hebrew 6:1).

He also lied in his act of apostle that he/companies heard God's voice Acts 9:7.

In another verse Acts 22:9 says that they heard no voice. The dude was a liar.

Where's it mentioned in the Bible that Paul created christianity?

Does Jesus have a religion??

These are the questions I asked but instead of answering, you're dancing around

Hebrews 6:1-2

6 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, 2 instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin, “My brothers, I am a Pharisee, descended from Pharisees. I stand on trial because of the hope of the resurrection of the dead.” 7 When he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.8 (The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and that there are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees believe all these things.)

Here's Romans 3:6-8 that you shamelessly lied about

Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world?7 Someone might argue, “If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?” 8 Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”?Their condemnation is just!

Now , you have shamelessly gone to quote passages from the Bible you know nothing about cheesy just like one of your brother I debated few days ago....

Now, show me from that Philippians 1 :18 were Paul encouraged Christians to lie or lied, I have also helped in bringing the verses here :

Philippians 1:15-18( the Bible has a flow, Paul was talking on those who proclaim Christ through good or bad Motives)

15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

You can continue to tell lies and refuse to learn and understand. No religious leader will say no matter the methods used he does not care. Yet you cannot understand what that means because it’s convenient for you to argue blindly. I will not reply you again. You just obey what Paul tells you. Your conscience will judge you.
It's not my fault you don't understand what you quoted, You claimed Paul encouraged Christians to lie to convert people to Christianity, I asked you where ,you ended up bringing up a verse you know nothing about, even when you were told to read the preceding verses to understand what Paul was saying.....Lol
