Some Christians are not usually eager about festive celebrations as they are usually irritated by the sinful stuff many indulge in all in the name of celebrating.

Nevertheless, we must be wise with the wisdom of God and take advantage of such times as this to blow the trumpet of our Risen LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. We must show the world the beauty of salvation in Christ, and show them how much He loves them.

And as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I want to admonish you to celebrate it in a way that will please Him and make Him happy. You can easily get this done by understanding what is currently in His heart, and align with His Will aggressively.

And in this short article, let me tell you some of the prominent things in the Heart of God at such times as this

1. That Everyone Of Us Should Nurture An Intimate Relationship With Him

Love was what made God create humankind in the first place. And even after Man rebelled against the Almighty God by disobeying His loving instructions, love made HIM visit the earth to die for us and set us free from the clutches of satan, sin, hell fire and death.

So, God loves us (John 3:16), and He wants you to come closer to Him. God is not interested in religion, but that everyone of us should have an intimate relationship with HIM, which is possible only by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and making intentional decisions to align with the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14,16)

So, if you are yet to embrace Jesus Christ, this is the best decision you can make today. Simply open your heart and tell HIM, "JESUS, have mercy on me, and come into my life"

If you are already a Christian, make the decision to get closer to God much more than the stage you are currently.

2. That We Expand The Frontiers Of His Kingdom

God is the Supreme Creator, and all must bow to His authority. Once the Kingdom of God is flourishing in all facets of human endeavor, we will discover that the solution to humanity crisis is the Kingdom of God.

And so, in this end time, God wants us to partner with Him to establish His Kingdom in different areas - media, the family, government, education sector, military, etc, where everyone will subscribe to His Lordship, and everything will be done only in accordance to His Will.

So, don't just live for yourself. Ask yourself, "how can I partner with the Holy Spirit to establish the consciousness of God at the area(s) He has planted me?" "How can I use my influence and resources to promote the agenda of Jesus Christ"?

3. That We Live In Preparedness For His Second Coming

The LORD want us to know that He is coming back again very soon, and His coming is imminent. Hence, He wants us to stay true in Him, expectantly, as the night is far spent. For those of us that are already distracted by the affairs of this world, He wants us to repent and amend our ways.

Also importantly, He wants us to prioritize Evangelism (Mark 16:15), using every available medium to tell the unsaved ones to come to Jesus and be saved.

It is true that originally the death and resurrection of Jesus occurred on Friday and Sunday respectively, but why do so called Christians choose to celebrate only on a Friday regardless of what day the actual anniversary date falls on? Please soberly think about this, how do you celebrate your wedding anniversary, isn't it on the actual anniversary date, and not always on the day that it originally happened? Why is all the date chosen to celebrate things about Jesus always having strong connection with pagan worship. Some serious food for thought. There are so many "perfect prayers" in the Bible.

The Lord's prayer being the most important one.

The only reason Jesus prayed and committed his spirit to God was simply because according to scriptures he knew he'd die and have to battle in hell.

Hell is the state of being non existent at death, it means we don't exist anymore, just like before we were born. I was explaining the reason for "good friday" to my Hindhu friend today as they asked why it is good when Jesus died.

I explained that it was foretold that Jesus will die at the hands of the government so as to fulfill his mission on earth.

You asked very valid questions, I am a Christian, but a different one from the mainstream Christians. Christendom has been seriously contaminated, but that does not mean that we can't find the truth anymore in Christianity.
The bible did not teach that Jesus is God neither did Jesus claim to be one. The bible clearly teaches that Jesus was created by God, so all those worshiping Jesus are being deceived and their worship is in vain. Jesus did not resurrect himself, almighty God, his father resurrected him, he knows that at death he will be non existent, that is why he pleaded to God on the torture stake, committing his life to the hand of God and God heard him and resurrected him because he remain faithful till death.
True Christians does not use the cross in worship, use of cross is idolatry, the cross has its origin in pagan worship. No wonder they choose a date to celebrate Jesus birthday and also choose a date to celebrate his death, all of these dates have strong connections with pagan worship. Clearly anyone taking part in these form of worship and celebration is obviously being deceived by the Devil.

Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion

Father, into your hands I commend my spirit. Luke 23:46

One of the most profound and transforming prayers we could ever pray is given to us today as the response to our Psalm: “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” These words were, of course, spoken by our Lord as He hung upon the Cross and prepared to breathe His last. But they are also words that echoed throughout the earthly life of Jesus, and they continue to echo from the divine heart of our Lord in Heaven for all eternity. “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.”

This prayer is a prayer of surrender to the perfect will of the Father in Heaven, which was the one and only mission of Jesus as He lived upon earth. His only goal was to fulfill the Father’s will, and this was done by His continual surrender of His life to the Father. But Jesus’ surrender to the Father in Heaven did not end as He died upon the Cross. His surrender to the Father is an eternal reality. He continually gives Himself to the Father with perfect love. This is Heaven. Heaven is an eternal unity of the Most Holy Trinity. It’s an eternal giving of the Father to the Son and the Son to the Father. This perfect giving and receiving of love between the Father and the Son spirates the Holy Spirit Who proceeds from them both.

Imagine the response that the Father gave to the Son as He prayed this prayer from the Cross. Though the Father’s response is not recorded in Scripture, we can be certain that the Father’s response was one of complete receptivity and reciprocity. The Father received His eternal Son through that prayer and accepted the ultimate sacrifice of His earthly life for the salvation of the world. And the Father then responded in a reciprocal way by bestowing upon the Son in His human nature the full gift of His very self. Though the Father and the Son were always perfectly united as one, this prayer from the Cross became an earthly manifestation of this holy union.

Though this eternal reality of the Love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is a deep mystery of our faith, it is also a mystery that we must seek to penetrate and participate in. Heaven will be our eternal participation in this perfect love. Jesus’ prayer on the Cross is the perfect prayer for us to pray throughout our lives so as to begin to enter into that eternal reality, here and now, and to prepare ourselves to share in this eternal union forever.

On this Good Friday, as you gaze upon the crucifixion of Jesus and reflect upon His brutal agony and His earthly death, try to look beyond His human suffering to His perfect surrender. Try to see that His physical death was nothing other than an act of perfect love for the Father and an act into which we are invited to participate. Prayerfully ponder this beautiful prayer of Jesus today: “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” Say it over and over. Pray it slowly and meditatively. Savor each and every word. Make it your own prayer. Let it come forth from the depths of your spirit. Let it be your act of love of God so that the Holy Spirit will become manifest in your life. Use this prayer to show your love for the Father, making Him more fully your Father. Use this prayer as a way of uniting yourself with the eternal Son. Say it with Him, in Him and through Him. Strive to become one with our Lord as He manifests His oneness with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Share in Their divine life. So people are being misled to believe that today is the anniversary whereas it occurred already. This raises a thought provoking question. Why did they choose a different date for the anniversary of Jesus death, even though the bible makes it very clear for us to know the date? The date is Nissan 14 clearly stated in the bible.

Something is seriously not right in Christendom, they choose a date to celebrate Jesus birthday and also choose a date to celebrate his death all of these dates have strong connections with pagan worship. Hmmm something to ponder over, Satan is very clever and is busy deceiving billions of people both directly and indirectly. Some might say does it mean all these billions of Christians celebrating Christmas and Easter are being deceived?

This is the truth the bible teaches, when we die we don't go nowhere, we go back to the state we were before we were born, which is the state of being non existent, meaning we don't exist anymore. This is why the resurrection hope is a wonderful provision that our heavenly father had made. We talk about Jesus today because he was resurrected from death, that state of being none existent. It is so unfortunate that people who claim to be worshippers of God paint him to be a very angry and vengeful God. This is so farfetched from what the bible teaches about who our loving creator is. He made us to understand that people who worship him will be persecuted no where in the bible did he say that these persecutors will be cursed, instead his son Jesus Christ advised his followers to pray for those who persecute them.

Of course they would. Do you think the holy Apostle who wrote, “And the Word was made flesh,” was not interested in the minute details of His birth? Even when we walk around with our kids son, people always ask “How
old is he?” or “When was he born?”
Don’t you think people asked this
question of Mary?
So the exact birth date (December 25) and the time (midnight) would have been known in the first century.
Moreover, the Apostles would have asked about it and would have, no doubt, commemorated the blessed event that both Saint Matthew and Saint Luke chronicle for us. In summary, it is completely reasonable to state that the early Christians both knew and commemorated the birth of Christ. Their source would have been His Immaculate Mother.


Further testimony reveals that the
Church Fathers claimed December 25 as the Birthday of Christ prior to the conversion of Constantine and the Roman Empire. The earliest record of this is that Pope Saint Telesphorus (reigned A.D. 126-137) instituted the tradition of Midnight Mass on Christmas
Eve. Although the Liber Pontificalis does not give us the date of Christmas, it assumes that the Pope was already celebrating Christmas and that a Mass at
midnight was added. During this time, we also read the following words of Theophilus (A.D. 115-181), Catholic bishop of Caesarea in Palestine: “We ought to celebrate the birthday of Our
Lord on what day soever the 25th of December shall happen.”[vi]
Shortly thereafter in the second century, Saint Hippolytus (A.D. 170-240) wrote in passing that the birth of Christ occurred
on December 25:
"The First Advent of our Lord in the flesh occurred when He was born in Bethlehem, was December 25th, a Wednesday, while Augustus was in his forty-second year, which is five thousand and five hundred years from Adam. He suffered in the thirty-third year, March 25th, Friday, the eighteenth
year of Tiberius Caesar, while Rufus and Roubellion were Consuls.
Also note in the quote above the special significance of March 25, which marks the death of Christ (March 25 was assumed to corresponded to the Hebrew month Nisan 14 – the traditional
date of crucifixion). Christ, as the
perfect man, was believed to have been conceived and died on the same day— March 25. In his Chronicon, Saint Hippolytus states that the earth was created on March 25, 5500 B.C. Thus,
March 25 was identified by the Church Fathers as the Creation date of the universe, as the date of the Annunciation and Incarnation of Christ, and also as the date of the Death of
Christ our Savior.

In the Syrian Church, March 25 or the Feast of the Annunciation was seen as one of the most important feasts of the entire year. It denoted the day that God took up his abode in the womb of the Virgin. In fact, if the Annunciation and Good Friday came into conflict on the calendar, the Annunciation trumped it, so important was the day in Syrian tradition. It goes without saying that the Syrian Church preserved some of the most ancient Christian traditions and had a sweet and profound devotion for the Incarnation of Christ.

Now then, March 25 was enshrined in the early Christian tradition, and from this date it is easy to discern the date of Christ’s birth. March 25 (Christ conceived
by the Holy Ghost) plus nine months brings us to December 25 (the birth of Christ at Bethlehem).
Saint Augustine confirms this tradition of March 25 as the Messianic conception and December 25 as His birth:
"For Christ is believed to have been conceived on the 25th of March, upon which day also he suffered; so the womb of the Virgin, in which he was conceived, where no one of mortals was begotten, corresponds to the new grave in which he was buried, wherein was never man laid, neither before him nor since. But he was born, according to tradition, upon December the 25th."

All these are to justify ur celebration of this pagan festival. Jesus lived on earth for 33 and half years. Count six months from December 25 and tell me if Nissan 14 corresponds with June. Do not blind ur mind to reason.

Symphony007: there are limits. If you commit murder, you loose those rights. If you commit atrocities that affect the state or the well being of other citizens you loose those rights. Let the government prove how a consexual relationship among two adults of sound mind is a threat to the state or other citizens.

So why won't you support two consenting adults (mom/son or dad/daughter or two siblings or one having sex with his brothers wife vis a vis) to enjoy sexual relations between themselves since they are not hurting anyone. See morality cannot be never be swept under the carpet it is immoral and unnatural to have sex with someone of the same sex. Just as it is to have sex with any of the above mentioned relatives.

How do people find this reasonable?
Worst still prayers are not answered. That jet loving pastors had given plenty falls prophesy about end of boko haran and return of chibok girls yet no one is asking him questions.
While you are praying thousands are still ding in the north.
There is no sunday Nigeria is not prayed for yet the county is gettin worse by the day. Some even die in the church while praying.

They are not getting answers to their prayers because they are praying for the wrong thing. God does not answer prayers offer for a country, I will tell you why, Jesus never prayed for any nation why he was on earth, even the Jews nation was being oppressed by the Romans Jesus never got involved in anyway. There is an ongouing big issue of universal sovereinty, that is why God allowed satan to temporarily take control of the world affairs. Even satan mentioned that in Luke 4:5,6. Jesus also identified the ruler of this world read John 12:31. So anyone praying for any nation whatsover will be laughed at by the devil cos he knows that it is all futile. Instead pray for individuals, these are the prayers that he answer. But satan's world control will soon come to an end, as Jesus told us to pray in Matt 6:9, it is that kingdom that will bring an end to satan and his wicked political system. Dan 2:44. Untill this kingdom come things will continue to get worse never will it get better. Read Rev 12:12. "LET YOUR KINGDOM COME".

You don't honour Mary by kneeling before her image, that is idol worship the bible forbides christians from making any idol or image of anything or anyone both in heaven on earth and underneath the earth, God does not accept such worhip. There many other ways you can honour Mary without making an image of her and kneeling before it. This is the most blatant form of idolatory in christiandom that the followers don't see. The devil have truely blinded the minds of people that they can reason on simple scriptural truths as this one.
God is not a trinity the bible never teaches that. There is only One God, even Jesus himself called Him the only true God, catholic church is not an apostlic church you are only making a claim the apostles were not idol worshipers neither did the teach in the bible that God is a trinity. The doctrine of trinity originated from paganism. And lastly the bible told us that there is only one mediator/intercessor between God and Man, that person is Jesus, he is the only one appointed by God to plead for us. Read and believe the things the bible says and not what the popular opinion is. Read 1 timothy 2:5, Heb 7:25

chuxyz: I have been pondering over this time after time but have got no answers. Even so called pastors will only meander around the question and end up coming out with no answer. Now the question is this: If satan tempted man to sin against God, and we term satan the father of sin, then who tempted satan to also sin or rebel against God? Another Satan? If your answer is NOBODY, that means when we all have been raptured and gone to heaven, wont that same NOBODY tempt man to rebel against God again? And we will all start from square-one again back on earth. Please i need insightful answers only. Thanks.

Satan was not tempted, he was created perfect but has free will, he selfishly desired something that does not belong to him, worship. He delibrately choose to rebel against God, inorder words he miss used his freewill. All the other faithful angels too has this gift of freewill but they choose to remain obedient to God. Think about this when Jesus was on the earth he got tempted by satan, satan knows that being perfect is different from having freewill he thought of the possibility of Jesus miss using his freewill that is why he tempted him, taking his chance so to speak. Because Jesus wisely used his freewill to remain obedient God was so pleased that He exalted Jesus to a very high position. Php 2:7 to 11.

I think God is simply loving and understanding and humorous more than our mind can even comprehend . we are too hard on ourselves trying to be perfect. we take ourselves too seriously . I Think everyone will eventually go to heaven at some point ,even adolf hitler ,idi amin,atheist etc. will eventually go to heaven after facing their punishments .
unlike the hypocritical religious fanatics who condemn anyone who doesn't follow their religious ideal .these group of people do not understand human nature and human behavior . They imagine God or Jesus to be extremely serious and frowning all the time .

This idea of going to heaven is baffling to me, if God wants us to be in heaven why did He not create us in heaven just like the angels. The bible teaches that the earth is for the sons of mankind and the heaven is for God. The bible also says that the righteous will posses the earth that is why Jesus taught us the Lord's prayer "Our father who is in the heaven hallow be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus is teaching us that it is God's kingdom that will make God's will to be done on earth as is in heaven. When this happens the earth will be like heaven, earth will become a paradise. So all these idea of going to heaven are false hopes and idea bible never teaches that. What the bible says is that there are some select few that will go to heaven for a purpose, to rule with christ in that kingdom that Jesus said to pray for, they are to rule as priests and kings with Jesus Christ the High priest over the earth. Please read Rev.5: 9,10. Heb. 4:14,15. This is the scriptural truth and not all these human ideas that all good people go to heaven.
