Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, popularly known as Simi, was the cynosure of all eyes on Thursday at an event in Lagos.

Simi who started her career as a gospel singer and released her debut studio album in 2008, was captured on camera as she attended the ‘Google Nigeria’ launch at the landmark event centre, Oniru Lagos.

Simi’s controversial outfit was showing her cleavage in its glory as she captioned the photo, “My mama’s gon’ call me in 5…4…3…2…”

Reports have claimed that Davido’s girlfriend, Chioma has dumped school, chosing instead to live the flashy life she now enjoys with the pop star.

The media was agog last week with the news of Davido proposing to her and the latter accepting the proposal. But there’s a snag somewhere as Chioma’s family aren’t too charmed about the development and their reason is as valid as any family’s in the matter.

According to a reliable source, Chioma’s father, who is a devout Seventh Day Adventist is not particularly pleased that his daughter has not been serious with her studies.

Vanguard Ripples’ has it on good authority that the love struck girl who gained admission into Babcock University (a Seventh Day Adventist school) to read Economics in 2012 is yet to graduate, when she should have completed the course since 2016.

“Chioma, once skipped a whole session because she was travelling around with Davido and had to defer her studies. For months now, she has not been attending classes. I can’t even remember the last time she was in school. The last thing I heard from her friends in school is that she’s not interested in coming back to Babcock. She’s traveled out of the country again and it doesn’t look like she’s coming back. A friend confessed to me that she told her she’s not coming back to Babcock”, said a source who wouldn’t want her name in print.

It was further gathered that her father has had a strict talk with her that she must finish school before embarking on any marriage plans.

The devout Seventh Day Adventist parents are said to be pained about their child treating her celebrated love affair with the superstar singer as top priority over her education. It is public knowledge that Chioma and Davido are already living like they are married.

Wherever there’s Davido, Chioma is sure to be there. For a woman who had a Porsche car gift on her birthday and a song in her name ruling the airwaves, the fantasy that comes with it may just be too much for her to handle, family or not.

Mayorkun gives detailed explanations about viral reports that the venue of his concert in Ibadan was littered with contraceptives after the show.

Mayorkun said that the condoms were only distributed to the fans for a safe s*x awareness programme.

According to a report by NET, while trying to encourage safe s*x among youths, the organisers, with the support of relevant organisations, distributed packs of condoms freely for reproductive and family health awareness which, it says, is typical of events of this magnitude.

“These were seen littering the event ground afterwards,” it says.

On the turnout at the concert, said to be 13,000 guests, Mayorkun says, “I planned to see between 5,000 and 7,000 people yesterday, but I was shocked to see 13,000 people.

“I was ready to perform for two to three hours, which I also promised maximum security. So, as soon as I got news on how packed the mall was, I had to get more security. The entrance planned for me to use was busy, I had to beg the mall owners to open the back gate for cars to come in.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has been often accused of being indifferent with the plight of Nigerians. Odion Ighalo may not be a darling for Nigerian fans after his fatal misses at the 2018 World Cup, but the burly striker continues to rule in the Chinese league where he’s now become the all-time leading for Changchun Yatai.

The 29-year-old achieved the feat after his goal in a Chinese Super League tie against Chongqing.

He now has 23 goals to overtake the previous record of 22 goals set by Marcelo Moreno.

The former Granada and Watford striker had equalled Moreno’s record in April when he scored twice to down then leaders Shanghai SIPG. He was crowned Player of the Month in April in China after the feat.

His record breaking goal came 19 minutes into the clash when he superbly volleyed a half clearance with his left foot to draw his side level, but his celebration was almost cut short as the referee had to consult the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to be sure he was not offside.

The Super Eagles no 9 has been an instant hit in China since joining in January 2017, scoring 15 in his debut season to scoop the top scorer award, and has already scored eight in just 12 league outings this term.

He’ll hope to recapture his form with the national team when the qualifiers for Afcon 2019 commences late this year.

Reno Omokri, former aide of former president Goodluck Jonathan has said that Nigerian footballer Ahmed Musa would do a better job of governing Nigeria than president Muhammadu Buhari. Mr Omokri said this is his column on Thisday titled THE ALTERNATIVE.

The former aide made reference to Buhari’s statement at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London, describing Nigeria’s youth as a lazy and uneducated. He said Ahmed Musa proved  Buhari  with his goal.



In his words;

During the Nigeria versus Iceland World Cup game that took place on Friday June 22, 2018, Ahmed Musa brought more joy to Nigerians in 90 minutes than Buhari has brought to Nigeria in three years. He did not engage in Buhari’s pastime of blame game. Neither did he make excuses to justify failure. This young Nigerian youth just scored. And to prove it was not a fluke, he scored again.

I personally believe that Ahmed Musa would do a better job of governing Nigeria than the inept tyrant who called Nigerian youths like Ahmed Musa ‘lazy and uneducated’! (Almost anyone would do a better job of ruling than a man who still thinks that there is a country called West Germany).

If there is anything President Buhari can learn from Ahmed Musa’s feat, it is that Nigerians want a leader that can deliver results, like Ahmed Musa, not one that delivers activity, like Muhammadu Buhari.

The national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held yesterday, June 23rd at the Eagle square, Abuja. All leaders of the party gathered in Abuja to decide their new leaders. The convention saw former Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole emerge National Chairman.

Oshiomole was appointed unopposed as many contenders stepped aside ‘for the unity of the party’. This is not what has got Nigerians talking but the look Senate President Bukola Saraki gave President Muhammadu Buhari in this photo taken at the event.

Nigerians took to Twitter to react to the ‘look’, wondering why Saraki always seems to stare at Buhari in that manner.

The Lagos State Police command has revealed the face of police man, who was accused on social media of having billions of naira in his bank accounts and also living like a king.

His name is Christopher Marcel Nnabugwu, attached to the Divisional Crime branch at Ogudu Police Division in Lagos.

A woman wearing a mask, in a video that went viral, had called on the Inspector General of Police to investigate the source of the cop’s wealth. She gave his name as Sergeant Marcel Nnabugwu, serving at the Mobile Squad 18, Owerri, Imo state – stating that Nnabugwu owned a property at house number 27, Fani Kayode street, GRA, Ikeja which she estimated at N250 million. She also alleged that the cop used n exotic car with customized number plate titled ‘MCON’ and that whenever he entered into a night club, the club would shut down.

The masked lady also said the policeman is worth over N2 billion, adding that he spent millions during his 30th birthday party, at a club on Lagos Island in May.

As a result, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, was ordered by the Inspector– General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to carry out discreet investigation. It was later found out the acclaimed GRA apartment of the cop, only to discover that it was owned by another person.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday, Edgal had this to say;

” Investigation by detectives from the Lagos Command revealed that there exists indeed one Christopher Marcel Nnabugwu, alias MCON. The said Christopher Marcel Nnabugwu was enlisted into the Police Force in the year 2000 and was trained at the Police College Oji River, Enugu State.

He is presently an Inspector of Police serving at Ogudu Police Division where he is attached to the Divisional Crime Brand (DCB) and not a Police Sergeant serving at MOPOL 18 Owerri, as alleged. ” Inspector Marcel Nnabugwu has never served in Mobile Police Force, MPF since his enlistment into the Nigeria Police. His picture in Police Mobile Uniform that was down loaded by the masked woman from his wall on Facebook as attested by the lady, was the uniform he wore when he went for Mobilization exercise into the PMF for which he was not successful. ”

Investigation also revealed that he does not own a car nor landed property in any part of Nigeria or anywhere else in the world. He is a tenant in building on Old Otta road, Oke-Odo, where he occupies a room and parlour”.

This goes to show that the masked woman in the video is out to tarnish the image of the police. She is currently on the police wanted list. We will not rest until we arrest her. She will be hunted and when she is arrested she will be charged to court”
