Om Shanti Om 2007

I had once watched this movie as a little girl, I can't remember the details but I knew it got me scared. Now that I'm re-watching, I wonder why my childhood self was scared. Lol

If anything, this movie deserves at least a 7, it was a trip back to memory lane, seeing all the old heroes and heroines of Bollywood, though some remain on our screens to date the ones that have stopped acting, it was nice to see them was just grinning like a fool. Shah Rukh, did a great job, bringing all of them together for a cameo. As a Bollywood fangirl, I appreciate the gesture.

All these attention seekers, you said you will unfollow the thread. And here you are eating your vomit.

Maybe not for the experience role but I bet you for the GT role scores is gonna be a major pick with experience. The 2:1 or 1 thing doesn't really play out. Check how multinationals like shell, Exxon, total recruit here in Nigeria and tell me if it's by grade alone. Even the just concluded nnpc they considered 2:1, 1 as a degree now the difference for the interviews was the experience you have not your grade for the GT. But what gets you to the interview door first is your score in the test followed by grade. Do your research.

The test score has served its purpose, which is to give you the opportunity to submit your documents.
At this point, I believe the major criteria for selection are you documents.

I rest my case.

That is why scores will be the determinants for picking followed by your grade and experience. They will definitely pick someone that scored 90 over 75 even though 90 is 2:1 and 75 is 1st class. After scores grade and experience next. The minimum was a 2:1 for this recruitment and 2:2 with MSC I think. While for scores the minimum is not a must pick. All recruitment always pick scores from top downward then credentials follow.

So if you are a recruiter you will ignore someone who spent 4/5 years to make a first-class, and pick a 2.1 candidate because he has about 15 points more in an unsupervised test that lasted for about 1hr?. Or ignore someone with 10 years of experience and good certification over another guy who scored 90 but with less experience?.

We don't know how they will pick candidates but I believe test score will not be the most important factor.

So Everything will be ready and PwC will just say “no no we don’t send mails on Mondays, for that we shouldn’t send it today”?

Sorry, but that logic is too weak to carry such conclusion. Even if mails don’t come in today, it definitely won’t be for that reason.

In the firm were I did my NYSC, emails about recruitment are sent only on Thursdays after the weekly planning and problem-solving meetings.

You reacted so fast....learn to calm down.

Seriously at this point.... No one can be sure anymore... I think the recruitment team are working overdrive.
There have been a lot of interviews for experience hires this week, and you know preparing employment documents for more than 100 people is not an easy work. They will want to make sure everything is in place before sending mails.

It will come when it comes jare....

Peace. grin

Employment document can be prepared anytime between now and September.

What we want for now is the result of the interview, to calm the tension.

So I think the possibility of we resuming September in the office is now very slim as I heard the firm is considering aborting their plans of resuming back to the office by September due to the new wave of Corona coming.

So I believe they are taking their time since October is still far.

Abeg they shouldn't take their time, they told us the first week of August.

I hope the new wave of corona will affect the "resumption back to the office" and nothing else.

Today I found out a friend got promoted to senior associate and I asked if she could help with any updates. I don't think any info here helps much but I wanted to share to calm our nerves. Although she seemed to suggest that there's an internal memo sent before they send it out

If an internal memo will be sent before they release the list, then na next week things.

I pray they send mail tomorrow another weekend in this state of suspense will be something else.

If they eventually resume by September, I feel the Induction may not be virtual.

I doubt if our CVs are graded. This is an entry level position and what matters is you meeting the minimum requirements. I believe the CVs and documents we sent was mainly for documentation and verification purposes to see if you truly meet the requirements and you are who you claim to be. What you studied doesn't even matter. Also, remember some people were asked questions on what they had on their CVs

However they decide, let it favor us...

Please is there anyone who studied Communication arts or mass communication dat was called for the interview In the assurance role here? I want to know if they consider those in communications for this role though. They didn't ask me any PWC question or my preferred location and unit, so I'm somewhat worried

how long was the interview? and how well did you answer the first question?
someone complained of same yesterday. his session lasted for barely 30 mins, after about 6 questions or so they said they were out of questions.

I think the performance at the interview is the only determinant at this stage (in quotes) and I believe the more interviewers in a panel could mean more accuracy in judgment because let's be honest, we are all humans and an interviewer could be bias towards a certain kind of personality, the way you talk, express yourself or even how you look.

Then imagine a bias person (may not be intentional biased) is the only one in the panel but that's where the God factor comes in that's why we pray. I want to believe that we were graded on the spot during our interviews though and all we can do is hope for the best.

For deciding if someone would be employed on the spot, that's up to them but I believ we are being scored as their questions are being asnwered

thank you for sharing your thoughts. but don't you think there must be a reason why we were asked to send an updated cv and certifications.

I believe the interview might be a certain percentage of the total score for the assessment. our cv and certificates may be graded and possibly the test scores might be used.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Pwc Graduate Recruitment 2021 by Cassa93: 11:21am On Jul 02, 2021
just some random thoughts;
1. Is the interview the only determinant at this stage, can a poor performance at the interview be compensated for with good qualifications, certifications and good grades from the tests we took.

2. Can the interviewers decide on the spot, like just tick someone "employed" after a great session or will there be a review of the entire sessions and best performers picked?

PS: I know we may not be privy to these info, but we can draw inference from other recruitment.

all the best to the guys taking their interview today and those for next week.

Hi everyone, so I promised myself that I'd share my experience here regardless of my performance. Here it goes...

Firstly, is the impromptu presentation which would typically not be a hard topic, I think the goal here is to get a sense of your thought process. My question was monetary benefits, job security engenders employees retention, discuss. I feel like I did okay with the topic so typical just keep an open mind about the presentation.

Then the questions part, I had three interviewers and they took turns with me. Some of the questions I got were;

What is a time when you showed leadership
How do you handle multiple deadlines
A time when you had to work with a difficult senior and how did you handle
Have you ever had to learn a skill to help you execute a task etc. They preferred explaining with examples too

I think I got a lot of questions, I got sweaty at some point especially because I stammer a little so if you're like me, don't worry you'll be fine because they said it didn't matter and only your responses counted. I think mine lasted about an hour, don't know if that's a good thing but fingers crossed. Also, I was told that we should expect feedback by first week of August. Good luck everyone

I pray to receive a similar topic, I have heard of harder ones.

Thanks for sharing man.
All the best.

You people don’t know this is low key a competition. I wouldn’t hold it against anyone that refuses to share information concerning their interview experience tbh because that’d give others an advantage over them thus reducing the person’s chance of getting in.

Well said, but no one held anything against him. And I believe that was well emphasised. We were only refuting his false claims.

Advisory.

Was told (upon asking) that all advisory guys will be in Lagos......and they asked if I have any concern with that.

Lemme point out something quickly about some comments here. Your reference to Cycler as an example to me was a lot out of place. I came here on my own volition to even comment about my experience in the first place. That was a volunteered information. If you noticed that was my first comment ever on this thread. Telling me how I should have done it or not done it because cycler (not even you) did it that way, was a lot insensitive. Again, to the specific information you’re asking me for, about the “spontaneous response” question, even cycler didn’t do it for same concern (I advise you check your reference very well).

Also, if any information wasn’t enough for you, especially not because the person missed it, but deliberately skipped it for any concerns, I think the other way should be to try and reach the person privately.

Lastly, the choices of words here in reaction to my concern, like “tight-lipping”, etc......was rather judgemental.

Initially, you didn't want to share your experience and it is obvious to everyone.
Nobody is holding it against you, that would mean feeling entitled.
Thanks for the info you disclosed. All the best man.
