A friend applied for a vocational course at the Helsinki business college...and was placed on waiting list. She was however sent an acceptance letter on the 18th of July after which she gathered documents and applied on the 24th of July and got interview date on the 8th of August. She attended the interview successfully. The official resumption date for the program was 11th August which she couldn't meet up with based on when she got her own admission so she wrote the school informing them of the situation. The school is however saying if she does not resume on the 1st of September her study place will be revoked.
Based on migri processing times a decision will be made on the 8th. The personnel spoken to at the university isn't even considering the time line and processing times of migri...she just insisted that she has to resume on the first or loose her study place.
ADVISE GURUS IN THE HOUSE...thanks in advance

pls go on and apply for your permit. you will be granted and. can travel to Finland. She can apply apply again next for admission then use that. admission letter for permit extension or renewal.

i dont get you. do u mean your RP was denied with the same template of last year. if yes notify them immediately. moreover did u use the same portal of last year by clicking new application tab? or u created a new portal for application?

I sent them a mail of enquiry and I was assured that its a normal procedure. so the correct one will be processed.

on the issue of the account pls use the old one because if u use a whole new account they may think u want to hide something from them. thanks

Hello, i just received my application today and guess what, the decision was made on a draft application of last year's submission mistakenly submitted around February this year. all efforts to correct this error proved futile so I continued to make this year's application and I alerted the authorities at the embassy and sought their consent upon which a diary number was created for this new app. only for me to receive a decision on the stale app.

any ideas how to go about this? thanks

What kind of questions do they ask during the interview.

Get to know some geographics of Finland like their population, bordered countries etc. also know where your school is located. then some questions abt your sponsors if any, y r u going to study in Finland, be cautious when answering questions on studying n working, the answer must be a big No.

Hello house, pls is anyone waiting for a decision to be made by migri, I went for interview on 5th June and i have not heard from them up till now.

i used a sponsor (around 8k dollars total balance ) , its better if the sponsor has surname same with you ,may be uncle or brother, then evidence of legal income of your sponsor like pay slips etc. , but i know a friend who self sponsored he had total balance of 1600 Dollars. he got as well . but then again estonian embassies in different countries have slightly different requirements , so better to check with d one in d country you want to apply . the good news is that once you are given admission , gettin d visa is almost guaranteed . i dont know anyone who got denied at least in ukraine .

Yeah I base here . I don't know hw easy it is to get Ukrainian visa , but if you can, I think Ukraine is a good route, it's not far from Estonia , 100 dollar flight or even bus even cheaper , the embassy officials are very nice and processes visa in 7 days ,no interviews .

I was granted the permit on 10th Aug. and on the permit 19 & 22 I withdrew some monies. so migri sent me this on 25th

The Finnish Immigration Service has granted you a residence permit for the period 10.8.2016-10.8.2017 on the basis of studies.

Pursuant to Section 58(5) of the Aliens Act, a residence permit may be cancelled if the grounds on which the permit was issued no longer exist.

The Finnish Immigration Service is considering the cancellation of your residence permit because the Finnish embassy in Abuja has informed that according to the information they got from your bank, your bank balance is at the moment 19,062.33 GHS when it was 31,576.15 GHS while applying. The current amount is not enough for covering your living expenses in Finland.

We invite you to submit an opinion regarding the possible cancellation of your residence permit. The opinion must be given in writing (you can use also e-mail). You have the right to use an advisor.  The opinion must be submitted to the Finnish Immigration Service within 14 days from the date of this e-mail.

A decision will be made even if an opinion is not submitted within the deadline. You will not be sent this letter again.

The Finnish Immigration Service will provide you with its decision on the cancellation of your residence permit in writing.  Outside Finland, the decision will be delivered to a Finnish embassy.

Collection by proxy. You can authorize someone else to collect the decision on your behalf. I was granted on the 10th this month n I withdrew some money on Monday n they sent that message.
So pls those granted RP should not try to temper with their bank account till your rp lands for your hand ooo. am hoping to write something to clear myself.

hello how did your prove your sponsor's way of income, i got the same supplementary as posted here to provide my sponsor employment contract, pay slip or if my sponsor is business person i should provide balance sheet and income statement but the problem is my sponsor does her own work and does not have those kind of document. i will be happy if you can tell me how you went about to explain to them. I'm guessing you are from Ghana.

Your sponsor has to draft a letter explaining that his business don't use or prepare any of the requested docs. just be clear as possible.

on August 1st and later got a mail from the authority that She was on leave n will resume office on 9th August. and got my decision on 10th August.
