South Africa, the country with the highest Coronavirus cases in Africa, will roll out the first coronavirus vaccine trial in Africa this week.

The vaccine, known as ChAdOx1 nCoV-19, was developed by the Oxford Jenner Institute and it is already being evaluated in Britain, where 4,000 participants have signed up for the trial.

South Africa has set out to vaccinate 2,000 people with the vaccine. Fifty of the candidates have HIV.

“We began screening participants for the South African Oxford 1 Covid-19 vaccine trial last week, and the first participants will be vaccinated this week,” University of Witwatersrand (Wits) vaccinology professor Shabir Madhi told a virtual press conference.

Dr. Yusuf JS, Senior Pastor of Touch for Recovery Outreach International, TROI Abuja has called on bloggers, journalists and publishers of other internet content to as a matter of urgency retract a false news story which was purportedly published to tarnish, his image and the body of Christ or face legal prosecution if they fail to do so in seven days.

In a statement released on his behalf by the publicity and legal teams of the church, says the said concocted report which went viral online titled “Abuja Pastor Introduces Anointed Pant and Bra with His Pix to help Ladies attract Men” is false and describes it as the handiwork of lazy and jobless fellows.

According to the statement, the Senior Pastor, Dr. Yusuf expressed worry over the said publication when as professional bloggers and journalists, they are expected to verify the source of the story, contact the personalities involved to get their responses before going to publish says there is need to bring the perpetrators to book which will serve as a deterrent to others.

The statement warns that the perpetrators of this devilish act are given a seven days grace period from the date of this publication to apology to the church, retract their report or face legal action at the expiration of the seven days explaining the since when the said story was published, the public perception of the Senior of Pastor of the church is wrong.

The statement states that purported story is a fragment of the authors’ satanic imagination to blackmail Dr. Yusuf JS, the senior Pastor of TROI Church and to cause disaffection among members of the ministry calculated to steal, kill and destroy body of Christ stating there was never a time when the church gave into the worship of graven image that took the place of God.

It stressed that TROI believes in the doctrine of righteousness and righteous living and does not practice any act that is contrary to this doctrine wondering how the authors of this mischievous story from without a link to any of his messages stressing that Dr, Yusuf do not believe in unrighteous, unbiblical act of coming together of couples or attracting partners as the report claims.

The church says it is set to make escape of bloggers and journalists who will not adhere and retract the story and tender their reserved apology through a publication saying that this kind of journalism of blackmail, scandals and defamation of character should not be encouraged simply because one has a phone and data buddle.

Sharing on Instagram, Toke Makinwa stated that she understands that scams will be on the rise due to the hardship brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. However, she would never fall to the point of negotiating with a scammer.

She also stated that the nu9de photos she’s being threatened with were photoshopped.

Doctor who spent weeks treating coronavirus patients, dies of the virus (watch his last video)

A Paskistani Doctor who spent the past weeks screening and treating coronavirus patients in the Middle East country, has reportedly died of the disease.

American-Pakistani activist @_SJPeace_, said the doctor identified as Usama Riaz knew there was no Personal protective equipment (PPE), but he persisted in treating patients with coronavirus.

He wrote;

‘We have found cure for Coronavirus’ – Professor Maurice Iwu

A former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Maurice Iwu, said on Monday his team had discovered a cure for the deadly coronavirus.

Iwu, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Bioresources Institute of Nigeria, stated this when he led his team of researchers to brief the Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu and his Health counterpart, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, in Abuja.

He said the institute identified and patented the possible COVID 19 treatment in 2015 and now needs the Federal Government’s support to translate the compound into a drug for the treatment of the virus.

Nigeria recorded its first case of coronavirus last Friday and over 20 persons who had contact with the index case had been quarantined.

A faint picture of the Italian man being treated for Coronavirus at the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital in Lagos where he is being isolated has been shared online by the Lagos Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi.

Professor Abayomi who visited the man at the Isolation center, shared the photos on his Twitter handle.

I visited the #COVID19 patient a male Italian national who is isolated at the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, where he is been managed by our well trained staff. I spoke to him and assured him of the Lagos state government’s resolve to ensure he gets adequate care” he wrote

“While at the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, I took time to inspect the ongoing renovation of the isolation wards. The renovation should be completed in a couple of days. I am satisfied with the renovation and preparedness work in the hospital,” he added.

Coronavirus patient attempts to escape Lagos isolation centre
Following the detection of the first case of the novel Coronavirus disease in Nigeria, and the placing in quarantine of the patient, identified as a 44-year-old Italian, at the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, Lagos (formerly, Infectious Diseases Hospital), a health worker at the hospital said on Friday that the patient was angry and had attempted to escape, given the state of the isolation centre.

The high ranking health worker, who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity on Friday, decried the ‘very poor quality’ of the isolation centre, lamenting that “the authorities have not matched words with action.”

Former Super Eagles striker, now Manchester United new signee, Odion Ighalo has disclosed how his mother goes emotional after she learnt that he lands a deal with the English Premier League Club.

Veteran actress, Onyeka Onwenu has finally won the court case against IROKING, and this comes two years after she sued digital music and movie distributor for violating a copyright agreement.

The Court held that the Intellectual Property Right of the Plaintiff was indeed breached by the defendant between the period of 28th day of February 2015 (after the Digital Rights Acquisition Agreement Expired) and March 2016 when the defendant claimed it pulled down the works of the plaintiffs from the defendant’s specific digital platform(iTunes). This judgment is not just victory for Lady Onyeka Onwenu but for all Songwriters, Producers, and all Intellectual Property owners in general.

At the time we met, my first daughter was in her final year in the University as a law student but this classmate of mine had not yet married. When I asked him what happened; he said that he fixed his wedding for that year but the money he was expecting was not forthcoming, so he had to postpone the wedding indefinitely.

I was highly touched! How could a mature man like this still be single? I told him, ‘Go and re-fix the wedding date and let me know the bills; and not just that, after your wedding, I shall ensure that you are profitably engaged so you can fend for your family.’ He was overwhelmed with emotions. That is how to live life to the full; that is how to live life at its best!

Your life cannot be full until you compliment someone else’s life; your life would have no meaning until you add meaning to someone else’s life.

True success in life is not in the billions of Naira you have in your bank account, housing estates you have built, cars you own etc. but in the number of destitute people who have their dignities restored because of you (1 Samuel 22:1-2).

Beloved, living to eliminate the frustrations, confrontations and battles of others is living life at its best.
