Education / Re: Do Lecturers Read So Much And Always? by champeeon(m): 9:26am On Jun 03, 2019
Durentt:
Hello, I've always heard of how intelligent and bookwarm lecturers are. I've been practicing the same in my life for some time now because I want to lecture after graduating. Is this true or not.

Not all lecturers read often. Some of them don't take time to develop themselves. However, the lecturers are not your standard. You should read as often as you can. It's a good habit. With that, you get to know more thing, read about more opportunities and several other benefits.

Congratulations on your first review. It was the most difficult one for me to get. I got frustrated and abandoned my account for almost a year. Don't stop doing whatever you did to get your first review and you'll definitely get more.

"Bird by bird"

"On writing" by Stephen kings.

There are thousand and one books out there for you to read. However, it is not always about the number of books read but doing the actual writing. You can get these books free on pdfdrive. net.

Join writing groups on facebook or if you find any on whatsapp. This will motivate you to write everyday. You become better by writing everyday and also reading a lot. For your punctuation and good use of grammar you can just get your secondary school English textbook. This will give you the basics you probably didn't pay attention to when you were in secondary school. You just need to understand the part of speech like the noun, pronoun, etc.

Join mailing list of writing blogs. Don't expect to be a king of writing the first time you start. You are permitted to start small and grow big. Most people don't get it perfect at the first try.

The biggest secrete to writing is consistency. Forget all the other rules you know. If you don't practice you won't get better.

Don't let them see you with laptop. Don't let them arrest you. Don't keep sensitive documents on your phone. Delete pictures that you don't need again. Enjoy life but keep it coded. Greet your neighbors very well and don't let them know too much about you. Because na them go later report you to the eagles.

Like the person the comment before me said, do you love the course? This is what will matter the most at the end of the day.

Since you are still in 100 level, you may not know some opportunities that are available to you just yet. (Also, opportunity is not limited to what you study in school. You must stay woke and always look around.)

I applied for biochemistry because I thought it was a cool course. At least the name sounded cool. But I was admitted to study fisheries and aquaculture. You need to see how my siblings laughed me to scorn. They said things like I will be going to the river to fish. I just can't imagine spending 5 years in school just to do that.
I didn't love the course at first and I was ashamed to tell people that's what I studies in school.

This continued until our first orientation. Our HOD then promised us that he will make sure we do our industrial training outside Nigeria for 1 year. We were stupid to believe the man was saying the truth because he said he did it at another school. This was the first thing that gave me confidence to start telling people I'm in the university to study "fish" for 5 years.

My real love for what I was doing started in my 3rd year and peaked during the 4th year. I now love what I'm doing and it gave me the zeal to always participate in whatever we were doing in class and outside class. I was sure of the theory they teach in class but at the same time my love for the course make me look for people doing the practical. It later paid off.

You just need little thing to hold on unto and believe so that you can develop interest from the course. From there you next job will be to start looking out for people who are successful in your field. What did they know? Connect with people from other places.

But if you still find yourself struggling with the course then it's not worth 'wasting' 4 years of your life for. I used the word wasting because it won't do you more good. You will end up like most people who say school is a scam.

I love teaching and that is what I'm trying to do since I've finished school. Your own may be similar. You may later love the course and decide you want to be a teacher too. And finally, don't follow the rubbish I'm typing since. The best advice I can give you is to follow your heart and passion.

Yeah, I understand where you coming from. But there are techniques that could help boost their Steem power and that's what I want to share with them.

That's okay. You're doing a good job then.
Business / Re: DON'T START A BLOG PLEASE! DO THIS RATHER AND EARN $50 DAILY!!!!! by champeeon(m): 10:29am On May 23, 2019
Hi Naijdev, I really like the fact that you want to teach people how to make money on steemit. Not everybody likes to show others how they make money online or anywhere else.
The way you talked about steemit is too simplified and it will mislead several people. I'm not trying to sabotage your work. But believe me, I've been there. I've tried teaching people about it before and I ended up regretting because they saw it as a means of making fast money. And actually that's how you make it look like.
Every likes do not equate to big money. We have whales and we have minnows, too.
And for you to make $45 consistently you must have huge investment in steem power or maybe have a big community supporting you.
Right now, the value of steem is low but that's the best time to accumulate the coin. You may likely not get good payout for your post.
Steemit is not for those who want to get rich quick and want to copy and paste content on the internet.
Lemme come and be going before I talk too much.

Webmasters / How Much Does It Cost To Start A Blog In Nigeria? by champeeon(m): 5:33pm On Mar 19, 2019
Hi guys, I'm sure this topic must have been covered on Nairaland before but I will still like to ask.

I started a free blog two years ago. I intend to upgrade it this year and get my own custom domain name. However, the money I expected wasn't forthcoming so I decided to keep updating my free blog.

This evening, I wanted to make it look a little better; I wanted to make it more attractive and professional, but I ended up making it worse. Right now I have lost the zeal go work on the blog. I feel I should move to WordPress Now. I don't know if it's a better option.

If I want to start a blog in Nigeria in 2019, how much will it cost me? What will it take to host it and buy a domain name? Can WordPress host my blog for me?
What type of payment would I need to buy?
Please help me know how much to budget for getting the blog started.

Although I am not starting this blog to make money from it, I may make attempt but I am doing it solely to express myself.
I write motivational and self help post. I focus on teaching personal development.
This may give you clue on the type of hosting package I should get.

I've been following your post since you begin sharing them. I must commend you for the great work you are doing. Kudos to you.
From my experience you don't really need to lime a pond after fertilizing it. The work of liming is to reduce the acidity of a pond and normalize it's pH. Lime is also added to pond that do not respond to fertilization. Adding lime at the same time as fertilizer can make the phosphorus and nitrogen in the fertilizer bot available. (anyone should correct me if I'm wrong.)
I wish you success as you progress. Cheers!

Thank you very much.
It might interest you to note, that the Batch 19Q3 is a special program for the entire household or the family. This is meant to provide fish for participant's home to have enough fish for different delicacies during the December 2019 festivities. Mobilisation is expected to be in July/August, to enable harvesting from December onwards.
Nice one

Card payment is the only readily available payment option for Nigerians, for now sha kiss

Thank you for your response once again. I'll still like to disturb you for the last time. My own card is UBA MasterCard and when I tried to pay with it, I got a message that payment from my financial institution is currently not accepted or supported. Something of sort sha. I wouldn't know if maybe UBA cards no longer support such payments.

Thanks for the prompt response Protein. I don't know if there is any other means of payment that is easy apart from debit card option. My friend is kinda skeptical about snapping the debit card even though with the advice to blur out the middle number. Thank you

Lemme know if you have for sale.
Agriculture / Re: Hidden Truths About Catfish Business!!! by champeeon(m): 4:19am On Feb 16, 2019
Hello my good people. I have some few questions to ask and I think this is the best place I'll get the answers.
I want to start fingerling production and I'll like to know which feed is the best to use. Also, I'll like to know the various prices (current prices o) of the feed and their sizes.
Also, what's the best way to penetrate the market as a new seller and get your own customers?
Thanks!

have you been able to withdraw? A friend just told me even bank told him the problem is from MTN.
I've been able to withdraw but that was two weeks ago tho. But I remembered I once went to d bank sometimes last year to link my BVN with DYA acct.

If the problem is from mtn they'll def fix it. At least the money is there in your acct. And if there is an emergency need you can borrow from somewhere else with confidence of paying back.
Education / Re: Mtn Foundation Scholarship 2015/2016 by champeeon(m): 5:10pm On Sep 19, 2018
If you can't transfer it's likely because you have not uploaded your BVN. you can walk up to any Diamond bank to do that and it's easier to collect your money once from Diamond bank. It will take you just fee minutes.

Who knows how to recover this Diamond yello password, cnt remember mine.. Also with the Acct no.

To view your DYA account number all you have to do is dail *710*4# OR *710# and then reply with "4"and enter you password to reveal it.

To recover your DYA password, you dail *710*1*9*4# that is,
Bank Service - manage account - pin reset.
Enter the OTP that will be sent to your phone and get yourself a new pin you will always remember
