Religion / Position Yourself And See Jesus Part 2 by charisville: 12:30pm On Oct 02, 2013
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day Exodus 14:13

When Moses told the children of Israel to stay still and see the salvation of the Lord, it may have seemed like a joke to them. They could physically see their enemies charging towards them, but they couldn’t physically see God’s salvation. The reality for a believer is not always what we can see, but what we can’t see. Maybe you can see more of what you are going through and what the devil is throwing in your direction. It might seem like you are alone; you have to position yourself to see Jesus.

You might ask, how do I position myself? The Hebrew word for “position yourself”(the verb form) is the word “yatsab”, which can also mean “to place anything so as to stay”. To position yourself is to place trust on the object of the passage; who is Jesus. So when you believe Jesus and His word you are positioning yourself. Yatsab is in the imperative form, i.e. you have to position yourself, to see.

Beloved, decide in your mind not only to agree with what Jesus has said concerning you, but also to believe in your heart. You have to become aware of the love of Christ, which transcends knowledge or human understanding, that you may be complete in all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19). As you become aware and believe in this love, then He will be able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that you may think, ask or imagine according to His power working in you (Ephesians 3:20). Trust and believe in Jesus.

Prayer: Lord I trust You with all my heart, I believe that You are always with me and You live in me. I focus on Your ever present help in my life. Amen

Welcome to the Month of October: Our month of becoming more conscious of the covenant of grace

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you today. Exodus 14:13

Israel miraculously came out of the land of Egypt, with God performing great signs and wonders. The bible says “He brought them forth with silver and gold and no one was feeble among them” (Psalm 105:37). They saw the manifest presence of the Lord and the wealth transfer from the Egyptians to them before they left the land; but in Exodus 14:12, they were quick to tell Moses that it would have been better he left them in Egypt as slaves.

The issue is that their eyes were fixed on the wrong things: they were focused on how great the army of Pharaoh was and the noise of their horses and chariots, that they forgot to fix their eyes on God’s salvation. What issue are you going through? What lying symptoms has the devil thrown your way? It’s time to look at it differently. The word “salvation” is translated “Yeshuwah” in Hebrew and it also means Jesus.

Moses was telling them to stay still, so that they can see Jesus. Beloved, it’s time for you to look away from that challenge and look unto Jesus who is your salvation. When you fix your gaze on Jesus just like Peter, you will begin to walk on all those challenges that seem to bring you down. Focus on the promises of God, “many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivers him from them all” (Psalm 34:19). Will you focus on the afflictions or on the Lord’s deliverance, protection and salvation? See Jesus.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, all I see is You. I do not consider all that I’m going through, instead I consider all Your promises to me and how You have qualified me for those promises.

Religion / The Frequency Of Peace by charisville: 10:51am On Sep 30, 2013
Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.] John 16.27 AMP

Saints, God wants us to live a life embedded in peace. The world around us is full of confusion, tribulation and pain. But in God we have peace that transcends all understanding (Phillipians 4.7)- this is the peace (Shalom) that the Lord wants His children to have and experience: all round peace in your life, home, career, business, school, ministry and nation.

The Lord wants to keep you in the perfect ‘wavelength’ of peace (Isaiah 26.3), and the key is to TRUST and BELIEVE God. In our focal verse, the instruction given to us is “let not your heart be troubled or afraid”, i.e. let your heart TRUST in God.

Whatever Grace gives to you, the wavelength (frequency) of Peace keeps. So child of God, whatever you might be facing today, put your “whole trust” in the Lord, and He will keep your heart in perfect peace.

Prayer: (Laying your right hand on your chest) Lord, I’ve read Your word today. I pray that You give me the ability to put my FULL TRUST in You. I pray that You keep my heart in perfect peace and I know that Grace and Peace will be multiplied in my life, in Jesus Name. Amen

Religion / Do This In Remembrance Of Me Part 3 by charisville: 3:07pm On Sep 29, 2013
“Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”…”This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” I Corinthians 11.24-25

Beloved, our focus has been on the communion and its power. Most believers are afraid that whenever the subject of communion is raised, they are scared of bringing condemnation on themselves. In the first place, there is now therefore no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus(Romans 8:1); for you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free(John 8:32).

After His resurrection, Jesus walked and spoke with two of His followers and while they all walked together, they weren’t aware of who He was. He expounded the scriptures to them on things concerning Himself (Luke 24:27) and they still didn’t understand. But when Jesus took bread, blessed, broke and gave it to them, their eyes were opened and they knew Him (Luke 24:30-31). There is something about the communion that “pops open” the eyes of our understanding, to see Jesus and the power of His finished work.

In the same way while Paul was preaching, a young man fell from a three-storey and died. Paul went down, fell on him and embraced him. He went back upstairs, broke bread with them and continued his sermon. After he departed from them, they brought the young man alive (Acts 20:9-12).

Beloved, you can take communion today on your own. Read 1 Corinthians 11:23- 26 while taking the super meal. I prophesy healing, breakthroughs and supernatural assistance as you break bread today in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Lord as I take Your body and blood; sickness, weakness and death is far from me, in Jesus Name.

italo: Holy Communion is NOT a symbol...

It IS the body and blood of Christ.

Do you doubt when Christ takes bread...and says: "this is my body?" Or when he takes wine...and says: "this is my blood?"

He beloved, it's a matter of sematics. Jesus took the bread and it was just bread, but after giving thanks that symbol of bread turned into His body after the thanks. But people have also taken it to the extreme which is not correct. The main person the supper should point you to is Jesus and His finished work. So it's a matter of sematics. Thanks

“Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”…”This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” I Corinthians 11.24-25

Beloved, holy communion is one of the greatest symbols in a believer’s life. It represents the greatest sacrifice known to mankind. It’s a sign that shows forth the death of our Lord Jesus; it points us not only to the slain Lamb of God but also to the risen King of Kings. A good father would let his children know the important things before he dies; the same way the symbol of the communion was given to us on the eve of Jesus’ death.

After Jesus resurrected, the disciples taught their new converts to have communion and they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in breaking of bread and in prayers (Acts 2:42). The disciples must have taught them the power behind the symbol of breaking of bread; because they had communion daily from house to house (Acts 2:46).

We’ve been told that, the communion table is not for every believer- that believers who have sin in their lives aren’t qualified to partake. 1 Corinthians 11:29 is usually cited; “for he that eats or drinks unworthily, drinks and eats damnation to himself”. The word “unworthily” is usually defined as not being worthy or qualified because of sin or any wrong doing. This is not true.

The word “unworthily” is “anaxios” in Greek and it means irreverently – treating it as a common meal, not apprehending the solemn symbolic import. So beloved, don’t let anyone rob you of the joy, peace and strength that comes from the communion.
*To be continued tomorrow*

Prayer: Thank You Lord for the ultimate price You paid for me on the cross. I stand on Your finished work by grace today, in Jesus Name.

“Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”…“This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” I Corinthians 11.24-25

Child of God, the communion is an integral part of the new covenant. It signifies fellowship and there is no greater covenant, than one sealed in blood. This is one of the ordinances Jesus affirmed (I Corinthians 11.23), for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes (1 Corinthians 11.26). Because He died, we have become sons. It’s a sign that reminds us of the covenant God entered into with Himself over us, sealed with Jesus’ blood.

It is a reminder of the finished work, pointing us ”to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel”. (Hebrews 12.24). When Abel’s blood touched the ground, it cried for judgment but Jesus’ spoke of forgiveness and grace(Romans 3.24-25)

We need to take this meal, understanding what it signifies: recognizing with due appreciation that [it is Christ’s] body (I Corinthians 11.29). This is how to take The Body and The Blood “worthily”(with reverence). Beloved, when we partake of the Lord’s table, we partake of His blessings(I Corinthians 10.16), and we also become stronger, healthier and far from death(1 Cor 11.30).

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith (1 John 5.4). As sons, we need to take the Body believing and as often as we do it, we proclaim the Lord’s death: His victory which is our victory over the world, till He comes.

*Take the communion today and as often as you can*.

Prayer: Daddy God, I am grateful. Your body was broken and Your blood was shed for me. I thank You for this gift.

Religion / Grace In Thanksgiving Part 3 by charisville: 11:41am On Sep 26, 2013
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Whatever the situation might be, the grace released via thanksgiving is able to change all situations. Just like Jesus told Martha to believe and she will see the glory of God, you have to believe His word and all your troubles will turn to bread. Martha and her family watched as their brother whom Jesus loved, died. The situation seemed hopeless, Martha told Jesus, “Lord he is already smelling for it has been four days”.

Has that issue defied human imagination? If only you can learn from our Lord Jesus and in that dead situation, give thanks to God. When Jesus arrived at the grave in John 11:41, he gave thanks i.e. “eucharisteo”. He released the grace needed for a change to occur. Some might have wondered why He gave thanks; as this wasn’t the expected disposition in this situation.

But after Jesus gave thanks, He screamed ”Lazarus come forth” and he that was dead came forth. What seems to be dying, in your life? Is it your body, that marriage etc? It’s time for you to give thanks to God because He has already heard you, and grace needed for change is being released. Now with a loud confident cry, call those dead things to life. If only you can believe, you will surely receive.

Prayer: I bless You Daddy God for grace is released as I give thanks. I call forth those things that be not as though they were right now, in Jesus Name.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Many times, we are told that God desires our thanks and praise and if God were to have any need, it will be worship. We can see from the scriptures in Luke 19:40 that when the Pharisees told Jesus to rebuke His disciples for worshipping and giving Him praise, He responded, “if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out”. Yes God delights in our thanks giving, but it’s more for our benefit that we continue to give Him thanks.

Just imagine, if you got benefits and royalties of $10,000 dollars anytime you sang a song, would you not continue to sing despite the prevailing situation? The same way beloved, grace is added to us when we give thanks. One sure thing that the devil would constantly want to attack is your thanksgiving. He would throw all His darts at you, just to prevent you from thanking God in any situation.

The devil is aware that the more you are grateful to God, the more grace for change is released in your life. Now that you are aware of the devil’s device, it’s time to take a moment to give God the praise; for this is His will in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Prayer: I’m forever grateful Lord, for Your love, peace, joy and grace. I give You Daddy God, all the thanks.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Someone once asked; “is it the will of God for believers to go through testing and trials?” Many people like this person have asked this question due to misinterpretation of the scripture. Those adverse circumstances are not the will of God but thanksgiving that you give is. It’s very interesting to know that thanks and grace go together; in the new testament another translation of grace is thanks.

The word “give thanks” is the Greek word “eucharisteo” which means to be grateful or to be thankful. The word translated thanksgiving includes the word ‘charis’ which means grace. In Matthew 15:36, Jesus took the lunch of a little boy and gave thanks (eucharisteo) and it multiplied and fed 4,000 men not counting women and children. What are you going through beloved? Do you want to receive the grace required? Then you have to give thanks.

Eucharisteo is in the present imperative active tense; which means it has to be done always. So beloved, release the grace required to change every situation in your life by giving thanks to God always. There is grace in thanksgiving.

Prayer: I thank You my Father in all circumstances. My heart is full of thanksgiving.

Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17

Beloved, we were created in God’s image and likeness. He made the first Adam from the dust, “blew into his nostrils the breath of life and Man became alive—a living soul!” (Genesis 2:7). But because of unbelief (in God’s word), man was spiritually disconnected from God.

But thank God for Jesus, our last Adam (1st Corinthians 15:45). He brought us back into sonship on better promises, in a better covenant. These promises speak of our righteousness rather than condemnation (Hebrews 8:6). We are sitted with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6) and we are just like Him in this world. As God’s “alikes”, sin has no hold over us, because His grace holds us strong.

As sons, we have dominion over all things including sin (Galatians 3:25-27), for we have put on Christ. Beloved, do not always put your faults before you. Instead, continually stare into the mirror of righteousness that God Himself has made you.

Prayer: Father I believe Your word above all else. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Since we have such [glorious] hope (such joyful and confident expectation), we speak very freely and openly and fearlessly. 2 Corinthians 3:12 AMP.

Dearly beloved, our hope in Christ is the unshakeable HOPE. “Christ in you the HOPE of Glory” (Colossians 1:27). Whatever you might be going through at your home, business etc; just remember that you have this Hope and it is able to take you through all life’s challenges.

Beloved, this hope does not disappoint us as God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). Saints, allow this love quench any doubt that may have arisen. Know that God loves you. “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for you –how will he not also, along with him, graciously give you all things?”(Romans 8:32).

Do you know why we at Charis Ville call you “the beloved”? Because God already called you specially into the family of His beloved ones (Ephesians 1:6).

Since we have this great HOPE, “let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favour) to obtain help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Child of God, hold fast to faith -that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence (1 Timothy 1:19). Have a confident expectation of good today and for the rest of the year.

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. 1 John 3:1 NLT

Beloved our Daddy God, has lavished on us such great love. Like the story of the prodigal son: when the son was still far off, the father saw him- meaning that the father had always been on the look out for his son. The father still had compassion for his son, and ran towards him, and kissed him-the kiss rendered in the greek means continuously kissed him. The father showered love on his son, even before the son could say “am sorry”(Luke 15:11-32).

Our daddy God, loves us exactly the same way- that even when we were lost and dead in sin, He sent His son to die for us(Romans 5:cool. God clothes us with His robes of righteousness, gives us the ring of authority and shoes of salvation and protection. He didn’t stop there, he throws a party on our behalf, with music and dancing(Luke 15:7).

Child of God, see the father’s love for you. Most times, the devil tries to fill us with ideas that we are not God’s beloved children- but one thing you must know is this – the devil is a big liar. The next time you feel down, remind yourself that you are the father’s beloved. Our daddy God calls us His children. Believe in this love my friends, and see everything in your life change(1 John 4:16).

Prayer: My heavenly father, I thank you for the lavish love you have for me. I stand on this love, declaring that ‘am richly blessed, highly favoured and deeply loved in Jesus Name.

Religion / No Opportunity Cost In Grace. by charisville: 9:32am On Sep 19, 2013
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast Ephesians 2:8-9

Opportunity cost is defined as the cost of foregoing something you could have gained from by choosing to go for something else e.g, another product. We are usually told of things we would lose for being born again. But the truth is this; in Christ we do not lose anything rather, we gain everything. Matthew 6:33; “seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and ALL other things will be added to you”. All means everything you need in life.

In economics, opportunity cost is absent when the supply of all needed resources is unlimited. The same way; for us to access salvation, all we needed was supplied to us by our Daddy God freely and without limit. Ephesians 2:8; “by grace are we saved through faith, and these are not of ourselves, but they are both gifts of God” (paraphrased). “Saved” is the greek word “sozo” meaning salvation, deliverance, protection, healing etc. This package is provided by grace, through faith.

The vehicle we require to receive “sozo”, is by believing. Beloved, what are you going through? I have good news for you, grace is all you need. The devil tries to keep your attention from all that our Daddy God has provided for you. If He did not withhold His only Son, but gave Him up for you, how will He not with Him freely give you all things (Romans 8:32). Beloved God cannot lie, He loves you just like He loves Jesus (John 17:23). And He is always with you. Believe Him today and all your needs will be met in Him.

Prayer: My Daddy God, I believe Your grace and love for me. I look up to You, my exceeding great reward.

But if you remain in me and my words of love remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! John 15:7 paraphrased

After a branch is attached or grafted into a tree, for it to be productive, it must get nourishment from the tree. If that particular branch does not get nourishment from the tree, after a while it becomes weak and unproductive. The same way as believers we are required to get nourishment from our tree (Jesus).

Maybe you are trying to abide in God’s love, doing all you can to love and serve Him with all your heart; this can be burdensome and you can burn out fast. It’s time to allow God’s love abide in you and anything you ask from the father it will be granted.

Beloved, boast of God’s love for you today, not your love for God. Let the word of love dwell in you richly in all wisdom….singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (Col 3:16 paraphrased).

And the tongue is a fire! The tongue represents the world of wrongdoing among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the entire body and sets fire to the course of human existence – and is set on fire by hell. James 3:6

Beloved, many times we wonder why our life is going in a certain direction. You wonder why things haven’t changed, considering the amount of prayer and fasting you’ve put in. Instead of getting better, things are getting worse and you no longer trust or believe in God like you used to.

The answer is not far-fetched; what are you “saying” about yourself? The same way we use words of faith and belief to communicate to God, the same way we can communicate with the devil using words of fear and unbelief. Many christians believe prayers are offered only when they kneel down and shut their eyes in solemn reverence before God. Prayer is synonymous with saying things to God in faith. The devil does not wait for you to call his name when you say things in fear, doubt and unbelief; he is naturally attracted to negativity.

Saints, what are you saying concerning your present situation? Are you speaking in faith or unbelief? Quit saying words out of fear – the devil is happy when you speak negativity. Say what God has made you already- righteous, blessed, redeemed, holy, wealthy, healthy, strong, wise, the head etc.

Make the devil mad today; keep saying what God has made you. Remember that right believing will produce right living, and right living will produce right results.

Prayer: My Father, I believe and therefore declare: I am becoming all You’ve already made me to be, in Jesus name.

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. Jeremiah 29:11 AMP

It’s so exciting to know that the Creator of the universe, the Maker of heaven and earth, has these power-packed thoughts for you. The thoughts of a man eventually becomes his realities. In this context; when you BELIEVE God’s thoughts over you; in a matter of time, those thoughts become your reality.

It’s good to also know that these thoughts are not evil, they will bring out the best in you. You might ask; how do I access these thoughts God has for me? His thoughts are outlined in His word. Once you access these thoughts and align yourself to them by BELIEVING, its full intent and purpose will manifest in your life.

Beloved, have the consciousness that God’s plan is to do you good. Always know that the LORD’s plans for you stands firm forever; His thoughts and intentions can never be shaken (Ps 33:11).

Religion / No Perishing For The Believer Part 2 by charisville: 2:40pm On Sep 14, 2013
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Beloved, our daddy God didn't leave us helpless or without the assurance of salvation. He left with us the Holy Spirit, who bears witness that we are the sons of God. When we believed and were saved, we were begotten of the Father- born of God, having eternal life i.e. Zoe, the God-kind of life. That means the believer is a different specie and breed; we are no longer the same- if any man be in Christ, He is a new creation; old things are passed away, behold all things have become new ( 2 Corinthians 5:17).

Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life" (John 5:24 NLT). There is no more judgment or perishing for the believer- those who have eternal life. 1 Peter 1:23 states; "we are born of the seed of God, the incorruptible word of God." How can the seed of God perish? We have a double assurance of salvation, beloved. This will not make anyone continue in sin, but it gives one the liberty to worship our daddy God.

When we believe in our hearts beloved, it propels us to live for Jesus. For He works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasures (Philippians 2:13). James said; "Show me your believing that has not produced any good works, and I'll show you my believing that has produced good works" (James 2:18). Beloved, always believe in your heart, because that is the good ground.

Prayer: Lord I believe your word with my heart. My believing in you produces right living in me.Amen

Religion / No Perishing For The Believer Part 1 by charisville: 11:24am On Sep 13, 2013
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone. believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Beloved, this scripture used as our text, is the most memorised scripture in the world. Just about anyone can quote this scripture, and I think it’s not by accident. This verse is a summary of the bible and what Jesus came to do for us. This verse also gives us an assurance, that there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Roman 8:1). The latter portion of the Scripture was put there by the King James’ translators i.e., “who work not after the flesh but after the Spirit”; this is absent in the original greek manuscript.

Beloved, God’s perfect love casts out fear from our lives: fear of bondage, punishment and perishing. Our Saviour Jesus took on Himself the punishment, that brought us peace (Isaiah 53:5).

Today Jews all over the world celebrate the Yom Kippur: the day of atonement, when all their sins are taken away for a year, by the killing of the sacrificial lamb. But Jesus has already paid the ultimate atonement price once and for all. It’s a finished work beloved; all we are called to do is believe in Him. Many people would say “Yes I believe”, but do you really believe? Or you just agree? Most people believe in their heads or their minds. But the bible says; with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10).

Saints when you believe in your heart and confess (acknowledge what you believe in your heart) with your mouth, that’s salvation. And you will not perish. That term “will not” is a double negative in greek meaning, “will never ever perish”. When you believe in your heart, you will live rightly. *To be continued*

Prayer: Put your hand on your chest saying “Lord I believe with my heart that you love me so much, I believe with my heart that Jesus came to die for me. Thank you Lord for your saving grace in Jesus Name”.

Religion / The Stooping Jesus by charisville: 9:49am On Sep 12, 2013
Now Jesus, stooping down, wrote down something with a finger in the earth. John 8:6

Jesus is our very present help in time of need; He never leaves us alone even when the world seems to be against us. Taking a closer look at the story of the woman caught in adultery: she was brought to Jesus by her accusers she was truly guilty. The Law of Moses required that she be stoned to death (John 8:5). She must have been pushed to the ground before our loving Saviour, while He was teaching. When they (her accusers) were talking to Jesus about her offences and what she deserved, He wasn't paying attention to them. Rather He stooped down(John 8:6).

Jesus stooped down low to meet this lady that has been condemned. Jesus doesn't leave you even when you are down. He stood up only to address her accusers and He stooped down again (John 8:cool, while all her accusers left, from oldest to the youngest.

The second time Jesus stood up, he give the woman the gift of no condemnation and empowerment by His word, "go and sin no more". Sometimes you are in awry situations; it might have been your fault and you hear voices of guilt and condemnation. Remember that Jesus is always with you, all you have to do is receive the gift of His grace. It will not only clean your conscience from guilt and condemnation; it will also empower you to live above sin.
Prayer: Thank You daddy God for the gift of no condemnation. I live above sin. Amen

Religion / Sense God's Love For You Part 1 by charisville: 9:29am On Sep 10, 2013
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 1 John 4:18

There are these moments in a believer’s life, that things seem to be at a stand still. The more you confess the word of God, the more things go down south. When you go to church, you feel all excited; but the moment you get back to the house, the burden seems to come back with full force. At such times, the devil begins to minister fear to you. He makes you feel guilty of one thing or the other.

Beloved, that is the lie of the devil to distract you from the Love of God. 1 John 3:20 NLT “Even if we feel guity, God is greater than our feelings, and He knows everything”. The devil wants to make you feel guilty of things that have happened in the past. When you dwell in guilt and condemnation, you would not be able to come to God with bold confidence. But when you sense that the Lord loves you despite your faults and wrongdoings, His love compels you to live for Him.

He sent His loving Son as a sacrifice, even when you were dead in sin. There is really nothing much you can do to impress Him and make Him bless you more. The only thing that pleases Him, is when we believe in Him. Believe His love for you, beloved. Sense it and be conscious of it all the time. He has promised never to leave nor forsake you. Do you believe?

Prayer: Lord I sense Your Love for me, and am conscious of it every time. I live boldly in your presence in Jesus Name.

It's so interesting that believers who confess their sins, never confess worry as a sin. So, is worrying a sin? First of all, sin needs to be defined: Romans 14:23, "...that everything not from faith is sin" and worrying is not faith-based. Jesus called those who are "worriers", scant of faith meaning they didn't have confidence or belief in God.

So, worry is sin. Another definition of sin is in 1 John 5:17, "all injustice is sin". So when you worry, you are not only doing injustice or wrong in the spirit. You are also acting in an unjust manner, against your body as worry can cause what the doctors call "auto immune deficency". Worry can lead also to mental illness. Then in James 4:17, "He that knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin". We have been commanded by Jesus "not to worry"; in a short passage from Matthew 6:25-34, He mentioned it thrice.

So beloved, will you want to continue worrying? The truth is, you can't stop it on your own. Romans 6:14, "for sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace". The antidote to sin is grace. Grace gives you the ability to live a life of self-control. Receive God's unmerited favor today, and be sure that grace will quench every atom of worry from your life, if you can only believe.

Prayer: I believe in the power of grace that removes all worries from me.

The english word "worry", has a german root which means "to strangle", and this is what it does to our joy and peace. It also means "to choke". Beloved, what is that thing choking you, strangling your well-being? It's time to stop its effects. One sure way of getting rid of these worries, is by casting it all on Jesus.

A true sign of responsibility or humility, is not by worrying, but by casting all on Jesus. The Lord has promised if you are truly humble, by giving your worries to God, He will exalt you (1 Peter 5:6-7). Worry is fruitless; it can't produce anything good. It helps to magnify the problem; turning a molehill into a mountain, leaving you stressed out and depressed. Jesus said; "Which of you by worrying, can add a cubit to his height?" It's unproductive to worry.

Our Daddy God knows that worry can be detrimental to us in every wise; physically (in our health) and spiritually. That's why He gave this imperative; "don't worry about anything". Whatever is causing you so much concern beloved, cast it all on the Lord. And by worship and supplication with thanksgiving, declare your requests to our loving Father God.

Prayer: I declare that I am made spiritually whole, healthy and wealthy in Christ. I walk in His righteousness. Amen.

Tomorrow, Jews all around the world would be celebrating the Jewish New Year i.e. the "Rosh Hashanah". Hannah went to Shiloh, during this same period many years ago, to worship and sacrifice with her husband. During this period, prayers and petitions are offered up as Jews call on God to bless the year; that God’s dominion be established in all they do.

Hannah prayed concerning her childlessness and in 1 Samuel 1:13, she prayed a special kind of prayer, speaking in her heart: her lips were moving but her voice wasn't heard. In verse 14, she said to Eli, the High Priest; "the abundance of my complaints and grief have I spoken". The word "complaint" in Hebrew is translated "meditation".

After meditating and speaking in her heart, verse 18 states that she went home and her countenance was no longer sad. If there be any issue challenging your peace, make it known to God. Change your countenance; turn from sadness to rejoicing in the Lord and like Hannah, you will have your testimony. And just like Samuel Hannah's son, your testimony will be used to worship the glory of our King Christ Jesus.

Prayer: I meditate and lay my issues before Jesus. I turn away from sadness and rejoice in my Father. Thank You Jesus.

We shouldn't be worried about anything or take any thought about anything: what you should eat, drink or wear. Jesus talking in Matthew 6:31-33 said, "seek first the kingdom of God and all that you should have worried about, will be added to you". In our focal scripture as well, we're told that in everything, by worship and petition with thanksgiving, we should make our request known to God.

Most times, we hardly declare or make known to God, our requests. We assume that since God is all knowing, He should be aware of our requests. But it's interesting to note that the phrase "to make known" in the orginal writing denotes a continuous act. While you are worshipping Him, declaring His word and thanking Him, you also make known to Him your requests. The same phrase "to make known" is used by Jesus in John 17:26; "I have made You known to them and I will continue to make You known".

As Jesus continues to make God known to us, in the same manner, we are to continue to make our requests known to God. But this shouldn't be done out of worry and sadness. In Phillipians 4:4, the disposition we need to maintain is stated; "rejoice in the Lord always, again I say to you rejoice". So beloved, let the joy of the Lord overwhelm you as you tell Him your requests. Be rest assured, our Daddy God loves you so much and He will never leave you alone.

Prayer: I am grateful for Your love, daddy God. No matter the situation, I'll continue to rejoice in Your goodness.

This was an instruction that was given by Paul to the believers in the Phillipi church. But, is it possible not to worry a bit? Worrying shows that you are responsible, to the world. You must worry about what to eat, what to wear, what to drive, about your children etc. But we are being admonished, not to worry about anything. The meaning of the word "anything" in the greek is "not even one (man, woman, thing)".

Our disposition and that of the world are not the same: we operate by the faith of Jesus; but the world operates by fear and worry. The reason why we can live without any worries, is because of the shalom of God.
Jesus said "My peace I leave you, my peace I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled"(John 14:27). Not worrying is not the same as being idle; it means that we disengage from a natural source, to the supernatural kind.

Just like the disciples that toiled all night and caught no fish; and Jesus came to them, saying, "launch out into the deep with your nets". Peter first complained about the situation but, he later held unto Jesus' words and acted accordingly and their actions brought surprisingly great rewards(Luke 5:4-9). What has been causing you to have sleepless nights?
Don't worry about it; hold on to the Word of God and you'll see great results like you never imagined.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I hold on to Your word. The peace of God is on my life and worry is far from me. Amen

Religion / Judge Yourself Rightly Part 4 by charisville: 11:00pm On Aug 30, 2013
But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 1 Corinthians 11:31 NASB

Charis Ville Capsule

When you judge and compare yourself by yourself or with others, the Bible states that you are not wise (2 Corinthians 10:12). When you became born again, your identity changed; you are no longer the sinner or failure that you used to be. There was a rebirth: a change in nature and identity. Your life was exchanged with that of the Lord Jesus. He that knew no sin, was made sin for us, so that we could become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Your present circumstance does not define you or whom God has made you. Some people might mock you, saying there aren't any obvious changes. Why aren't you married, why are you without money or a job? One thing you must understand beloved, is that the workings of grace in your life might seem slow, but it is very sure. You might not see any growth right now, but just keep on believing.

The work of grace can be likened to the physical growth of a human: no one knows the exact time when those inches were being added, but one notices an increase in height. Sometimes, it's other people that first comment on the growth. And when those inches are added, it is sure. Beloved, keep judging yourself based on what Jesus has achieved for you, keep your eyes on Jesus- the word of God and you'll see a sure transformation and growth in every area of your life.

Prayer: Lord Jesus I behold You constantly and consciously. Amen.

But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 1 Corinthians 11:31 NASB

Charis Ville Capsule

How are you judging the "finished work of Christ"? What did Jesus mean by the words; "it is finished"? Before we can judge ourselves in the right manner, an in-depth understanding of Jesus' death is needed. Jesus didn't just come to pay the ransom and afterwards, leave us on our own to figure it out. That could be likened to a mother who gives her 2 year-old child cooked fish, with the bones in-situ. She is invariably saying, "at least, I brought you some fish, so you should figure out how to remove the bones".

Not only did Jesus come to feed us with fish, He also removed every bone that could choke us. He gave us His Spirit, so that we would be able to know all that is freely given to us (1 Corinthians 2:12). Just some couple of verses before this in 1 Corinthians 1:30, some of those things were stated.

Jesus was made for us wisdom, righteousness, holiness and deliverance. Now that you are aware of your real state in Christ, judge yourself based on these things; not on your experiences. Does your experience imply that you need deliverance? Just look to Jesus, who has already been made deliverance unto you and declare "Because of Jesus' finished works I am delivered"
Declare: "I am full of wisdom, am the righteousness of God, I am holy, I am delivered.

Prayer: Thank You Jesus, for Your Spirit continually reveals to me, all that I have been freely given.

But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 1 Corinthians 11:31 NASB

Charis Ville Capsule

In the focal verse, Paul was referring to the holy communion. In verse 27, he talked about taking the bread and the wine in an irreverent manner i.e. not judging the body of the Lord rightly. Many have thought this to be that they hadn't examined themselves for presence of sin. But beloved, is the blood of Jesus not meant to wash away our sins?

If you think this verse referred to trying to get rid of sins, before one takes the communion, the point has been missed. It's just like cleaning one's dirty body with a towel, before jumping into the shower. The purpose of the shower is to wash off the dirt. Thus, the right way to take the communion is by judging that our qualification to be healed, delivered, saved, sanctified and purified, came by what Jesus did for us through His death and resurrection.

The finished work of Christ is your qualification for all the benefits of His grace. Are you sick in your body or do you have an addiction ? It's time to see all that Jesus' finished work has obtained for you. The more your mind is focused on Jesus, the more everything around your life will begin to take shape according to what you've seen on the inside.

Prayer: The eyes of my understanding is being enlightened with all that Jesus has accomplished on my behalf. Amen

But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 1 Corinthians 11:31 NASB

Charis Ville Capsule

Judgment has always been deemed negative. Whenever it's mentioned, believers equate it to punishment. This mentality has been passed on through centuries and has always been taught in the church. But today, judgment will be viewed in a different light. We've been admonished to judge ourselves rightly, so that we would not be judged. What does this mean?

We might read this passage and think that it means to examine, i.e; we are to watch out for our wrong deeds and stop them, to prevent judgment. But, this scripture means something different. First of all, if we were to judge ourselves based on the Lord's standard, we'll be found wanting; " there is none that is good". Instead we are to judge our self differently, not based on what we've done, but based on what Jesus has done for us; this is good judgement.

Beloved, people might have written you off as good for nothing, that you would not amount to anything. The painful fact sometimes might be that your experience might concur to what has been said. But, if you can just look away from yourself and unto Jesus: see all that He has done on your behalf. Focus on how beautiful His ways are and on Him as your substitute. Hold on to this picture in your heart in belief and see your life transformed from one level of glory to another.
*To be continued*
