progress69: Gbam! After all d peak is major-general 4 all types of commission unless u become coas. |

SeanDada1: Soory sir! I disagree with ur post! Dssc don't write promotional exams to get promoted while ssc write promex and once u miss u will loose seniority of about 3 months. |
![]() |
sholacivileng: Pls broo get facts b4 commenting on this issues! All have advantages n disadvantages but even SSC officers are envious of DSSC officers because of the following reasons: 1. As a DSSC/DRC officer you don't need promex(promotion exams) to be promoted to d next rank. Once you have good annual evaluation, attain courses at ur career level, no any disciplinary record and also available vacancy u will b promoted unlike SSC. 2. A SSC officer gets an antidate of 2 yrs after commissioning meaning he will spend 3 yrs as a 2nd lieutenant b4 promoted to lieutenant which is automatic promotion except oon some occasion while DSSC is commissioned as a lieutenant(before d ssc officer becomes a lieutenant, the same dssc officer is having just a year left to become a captain) if u have any army officer friend as him about the case of SSC 39 and DSSC 18 army dey both trainined together in NDA n where commissioned in 2011, the DSSC officers are 2 yrs old captains while SSC39 are still lieutenants. 3. SSC is superior to DSSC in terms of seniority of commission cos upon conversion SSC get converted to regular commission(same with dos dat spend 5 yrs in NDA) while DSSC converts to DRC(direct regular commission) Dats if u u want to reach peak of ur career. The wahala for SSC officers is only 5% are allowed to get convert to regular commission which is stated in htacos officers. I rest my case here. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

300 level student of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Abolarin Akin Jephthah has written a letter to his school management explaining why he chose to withdraw from being a student of the school. The sociology student, with the matric number 13/77JD010, in his letter addressed to the Deputy Vice-chancellor Academics of the University of Ilorin, claimed that he has now encountered the light of the gospel and has chosen to repent. The student based his withdrawal on his new depth in the knowledge of Christian faith. He explained in his letter that he cannot continue to be a student of the higher institution with a West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result he got through examination malpractice. Photo of his letter addressed to the school management…

EzeNri: U don't have any idea on the command style of Nigerian army, a major is a senior officer he capable of holding staff office appointment at his own level. U dint read wat I said about the major, I said he is acting brigade commander of brigade rear while d d brigade main is command by a brigade commander in there location in NE. 1 Like |
![]() |
EzeNri: He said acting garrison commander! What Mecoy said was true because d same brigade was my former unit, d brigade is currently somewhere in the theatre of operations (north eastern nigeria) the brigade in question was headed by acting brigade commander rear which is major but recently a colonel has been posted to act pending when finish there own part of there role. The brigade commander is with d troops in NE. |
![]() |
EzeNri: Those are by the books they are british standards what we learn from academy does not necessary reflect d outside world. I don't know about u, as for me am speaking from experience cos am currently serving my fatherland. A major can command other majors because we have junior majors and seniors majors, Infact coursemate can command coursemate even if they are of the same seniority cos senior number will take charge among his coursemate, just like d case of OP who was once an appointment holder (cadet sgt) in d academy. |

EzeNri: Wrong man! There is no vaccum in the army, a major is normally a Company OC in a battalion but he can b posted on acting role as per acting CO. |
