How long does SA study visa renewal takes?

"I am in the middle of my PhD study and submitted my visa renewal application since January 2023 back here in Abuja. I would have applied in SA but had to leave because my passport was expiring and my school also advised to come and apply in Nigeria to avoid been declared undesirable.
My application status has always remains the same "the application was received and under processing at SA High commission"

Is this normal or does anyone know how long this takes, I'm running out of patience here because I have an ongoing LAB work to complete back in SA"

Any thoughts or opinions are would be helpful, please help my friend and thank you all.

Thanks to everyone that have contributed one way or the other and my friend is currently working on your suggestions. Still open to more suggestions from you guys, once again thank you

I applied for it in SA but couldn't get it before the expiration of my visa
I was told passport booklet was unavailable

Trust me, there are some study applicant that submitted since September and have not received. Some submitted in January and received in February. We don’t know how the adjudicate or process. It’s a bit confusing. But I think you should constantly. When I mean constantly I mean every 3 hours everyday you mail the SA High Commission till you get a feedback, because that’s the only hope and you continue to call them.
Bursttt, thank you on this suggestions

Let me assist in addressing the issues raised below:

1) i will advise you to put in your application early probably July cos the SA embassy's processing time for visa varies and could take between two to six weeks though you might be lucky to have it processed quickly. However, submitting early will help to forestall any delay as experienced by some applicants in the past.
2) Pls ensure that your letter of invitation is signed by the organisers cos it could be a valid reason for refusal.
3) Ensure you do a paid hotel booking so as to boost your chances
4) In addition to the docs listed, you can include evidence of previous trainings attended (i.e cert. of attendance) and other suporting documents and your hotel booking as stated above.
5) You don't need a police report due to the nature of your application
6) Yes you do. A letter of introduction from your employer is needed. They can as well state that you will be on leave during the period
7) You can visit www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/nigeria/ to download the visitors visa application form and get other info for your visa application

I hope this info will assist in a long way.

I wish u all the best.

Yes! The address is correct.

I also got admission at NTNU. I don't know if the format has changed but as at last year, you have to submit a preliminary application. During this process you don't need to send any hard copy by post only upload your documents. By December 15 - 25, candidates that passed through the preliminary screening will receive aa mail to send their documents to the above address before February 1.

Hope it helps, good luck.
Thanks Baba

Thanks for good job guys, i realised that as one progresses thru the application more questions come up. Please help with the following questions in respect to ntnu application(msc)

1. After having uploaded the bank documents, do I still need to post the hard copy to ntnu?
2. From what I read on their website I understand that the only docs to be sent to them is the transcript and must be sent directly from the school. Please correct me if I'm wrong. All other docs are uploaded on their website.
3. how easy would it be to switch from one school to the other after arriving Norway.
4. What's the NTNU mailing address to send the document, saw this; please correct me

International House
Gløshaugen campus
O. S. Bragstads plass 3
NO-7491 Trondheim, Norway.

Thanks

Did you add a colored photograph of yours to the last page?

financial docs will be printed from the bank for you then you scan and upload them. Copy the scanned pics and paste them in ms word. then you can either save it as a word file or pdf. tjen you upload it.
No I didn't oo. I will do that now. hope the method I used is ok? This fin. doc is the SOA of my sponsor alone abi, no any letter involved ?

1. You can either fill it online or with pen. If online, you print it and sign it and then scan and upload it.
2. Work experience, I think your cv and recommendation letters are enough.
3. Upload the financial doc anytime you like provided you beat the Jan 15 deadline.
Thanks for the quick response.
Here's what I did but correct me if I'm wrong. I filled the first 3pages online and printed out the last one where I need to sign and date, then combine everything together and upload.
Please what's the format for financial docs to be submitted. Thanks

You can go to your school and confirm if they received SAQA's e-mail and surface mail and if they responded to that. Some schools WILL not do anything about the mails till you come and pay the necessary admin charges. That is true for AAUA at least. You may not need to apply for a new transcript. Just call SAQA, ask for when the e-mail was sent (date and time), what the subject was, what e-mail address it was sent to, the sender's e-mail address. This will help you to advise your school's registry in searching for their e-mail. Once they have responded, call SAQA back to inform them of the date the reply was sent, the sender's e-mail address and the time it was sent. The moment they get this, they will reopen your application.

Cheers.

And if Surdik said applying for a new transcript worked for him, that's great. You may want to explore that option as well. I cannot say it won't work since I never tried that option.
I'm so grateful for all the contributions. I feel I should go for the option of applying for another transcript and have it addressed to SAQA. I still have to certify it b4 sending to saqa. What's the saqa address I can put on the transcript.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by chemenger: 1:23pm On Nov 15, 2014
surdik:
is your transcript addressed to SAQA?
No it wasn't addressed to saqa. It's just the transcript pages only and the certificate. Could that be a problem.
I scanned a certified copy of my transcript and certificate to someone in SA who printed them out and submit for me. Saqa didn't state any address for applicants to put on transcript or maybe I wasn't aware.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by chemenger: 6:33pm On Nov 13, 2014

Then maybe you should try calling them, because as long as there is no communication between SAQA and your school, your application will remain suspended.

ok, so how do I know if there is any communication between my school and saqa. What i observed is that there is no any email address provided by my school on the transcript I applied with. Could that be the cause of all this. I supposed saqa should have the email address of every school.

Hi gurus in the house,
I need ur vital info as regard my msc application to a university in usa. I was given admission by the school in fall 2014 and I have received i20 from them as well. Due to some reason I deferred the admission to spring 2015, now that I'm ready to pay my sevis fee and start the processing, is that same i20 valid or I would be issued another one by the school. Pls assist with ur vital info asap. Thanks all

You can call SAQA and ensure you confirm they have sent a mail requesting for verification of your results from your school before contacting your school, and most times SAQA send mails to the registrar of your school, who inturn forwards to Exams and Records for Verification of your results.
ok I would try and contact SAQA back. Thanks so much for the quick response

It depends on what you fill on your forms. If you asked them to send to both you and Wits (and paid for that service, of course), then the certificate will be sent to both. If you didn't pay any extra cost, they will post only to you.

I also know of people who ask them to send to addresses of people in SA as it is cheaper and faster. The ones in SA then scan it to them back home.

Hi everyone, I applied for SAQA few days back for the 20days option and i was expecting my result on 27th of this month. To my surprise i received a mail from SAQA today that the application is being suspended for now. A letter was also attached which goes thus:
'' Further information is being obtained. You will notified of the outcome as soon as a reply has been received
Please note that the time normally required to process application is counted from the time as all relevant information and documentation is available.
In this case, the information about the confirmation of the award of the qualifications is being sought.
Payment of R680 is acknowledged with thanks.''
Please house what step do I need to take to facilitate the processing of this SAQA. I applied online here in Nigeria but someone in SA paid for me and printed out certified copy of my credentials(which I emailed to him) and submitted for me at their office
Please kindly assist with info that would be of help. THanks

Yes sir/ma, you may.

They asked for originals, not certified copies. I believe they have your certified copies already. Meanwhile, they are not asking for your international passport.

May I ask if you have applied already or you are just planning to apply? If you are just planning to apply, then certified copies will do. If they sent you a mail requesting for your originals, then you need to send those.

Cheers.
I am about to apply for saqa. The option I have is someone in SA is willing to help do my saqa.
My question is do I need to send hard copy of my doc or scan copy to him?
If I want to do it myself here, would I still need to send hard copy to saqa? if not I will prefer to do it here myself. please advise
what's the minimum cost of sending a 5-page docs to SA through courier coy?
how reliable is sending a registered mail in Nipost and approximate delivery date?
thanks

yinksob002: I will advise you to send the certified hard copies to the person in question and as well include a letter to SAQA asking them to post a copy of the evaluation certificate to Wits univ. directly upon completion (Note that you will be asked to pay for d postage).

As per your second question, you will still need to send the certified hard copies of your credentials to Wits University. Upon receipt of the certified hard copies, the status on your online portal will change from 'Not certified" to ''Received". (N.B: Ensure that you use a reliable courier coy like DHL).

In terms of processing time, I will advise you to do your SAQA in SA cos it is faster going by my experience. I did mine during my vacation in SA u sing the 10days option (being the fastest) and it came out in two weeks.

All the best.
Can this person in SA print out the scanned copies of the certified transcript, certificate and the international passport sent to him for SAQA instead of sending hard copy to him.
