(I lived there. Behind mbaka adoration ground.. Onoh quarters, river lane) .. The reason they are still standing is because the inhabitants re comfortable because they wont afford increased rent that comes with new buildings... Bro nothing u wan tell me about Enugu....

Some private citizens understand Nigeria more than others and definitely much more than our so-called Igbo politicians. When Kwankwanso opened up his Kwankwansiya estate project, Igbos flocked to the area to buy up all the houses and build houses on empty plots like crazy! You'd wonder why they snubbed similar estates in their own region! The Enugu Centenary and Golf city was there at the same period, but they snubbed it for Kwankwasiyya city! Ask yourself how many northern generals and top federal civil servants in Enugu even built a boy's quarters anywhere in the city after more than 20 years living there! But Igbos decided it was a good idea to dominate a housing estate being developed by Kano state government for its people. However, when Kano state government and administrators in that estate start pulling down or confiscating their buildings after a few years as 'illegal' structures or under other pretenses, they will cry to you to help them avoid the predicament they faced because they are Igbos!

I came across a 2012 Facebook post of many Ndigbo who regretted that Gov. Peter Obi refused to build a badly needed airport in Anambra which would be a solidly visible legacy of his 8 years administration. Instead, he chose to build in Mall in Abuja of all places. Which they predicted will be burnt down at some point by Almajiris! I was so shocked when I read the comment.

Mind you, this post was made when Peter Obi was the Governor of Anambra state! Sometimes the voice of the majority is the voice of God! I know Peter Obi will understand better bye and bye.

Enugu is a civil servant state..money is not in circulation in Enugu compared to commercial states like kano . How many will afford to rent an over inflated duplex.... Use ur sense sometimes.... Why is everyone waiting for awka millennium city....
