Hello, Was your email responded to? If I were you I’ll resend the email. This shows your biometrics hasn’t been updated. It doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong, sometimes it takes time. But just to be sure, if your email wasn’t responded to, send a reminder. All the best Molly90: |

Hello, Sorry to hear about the refusal. Is it just a diploma or a post graduate diploma? To be honest, linguistics and journalism are not related if you look at it properly. Your funds were also considered insufficient. How much did you submit? Who was the sponsor? Was any tuition paid? Seeing that the tuition is on the high side, you need to have a convincing reason why you’ll pay that much, when there are cheaper options in Nigeria ConradAce1: 1 Like |

Hello ayoadefantastic Is the funding available for every year of the PhD? You’ll need to get someone in her field to assist with a solid SOP. She needs to emphasize clearly how this PhD will be of benefit to her career in Nigeria. Has she started building her own account? Even with funding, it’s advisable to show something in your account too. ayoadefantastic: 1 Like |

Hello charlyduru, Has he completed his master’s? What field? Why MBA when he just finished master’s? That could be the reason for the “purpose of visit” denial. Well errors could be made in applications. But he wasn’t denied for 1 reason, so without the job reason, there would still be other reasons. You should share the visa officers comment from the gcms notes for the house to see and analyze He should repackage his application and refire charlyduru: |

Hello, This is not a response to your question. Just a caution. Have you ordered your gcms notes to see the specific reason for your refusal? Please do so before reapplying Ayokaq: |

Sorry to hear about your refusal. The Gcms note is quite straight forward. You were refused based on financial ground. The visa officer was not convinced that you could raise the said amount you had in your first bank account. And you also didn’t provide enough documents to make him believe your mum’s business could help her accumulate such amount. The visa officer suspects foul play that the money might not be available for your studies. If you schools tuition refund is favorable you can pay a year tuition if you didn’t previously And try to avoid lump sum deposit. Provide more documents to show the source of your income. How you raised such amount considering your salary. And how your mum too raised such amount, maybe show more documents from her business. Transaction receipts for example. Hello, 2. Going for undergraduate degree when you already have one might lead to a refusal except you have solid reasons, same with changing career. Yes there are scholarships available for undergrad Do you have IT work experience? If you do, that could help. But just deciding to change because you want to is not enough. yungchop: |

Hello, Sorry to hear about your friend’s refusal. But nothing here shows he was evaluated based on Thailand. Is he legally resident in Thailand? And did he attach documents to prove it? The reasons he was given in the refusal letter are generic. To see the specific cause of his rejection, he needs to order his GCMS notes. To do that, just google “GCMS notes sites Canada” and he’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 cad and can take up to 35 days to be ready. If he has anyone in Canada ( citizen, permanent resident or temporary resident) to order it on his behalf it would cost $5 cad only. From the notes he’ll see the visa officer’s specific concerns and he’ll be able to address it before replying if he decides to reapply. Before then he should share his profile (age, course applied for and level, course he’s doing now in Thailand, previous employment etc) And the documents he submitted so people in the house can advise properly. Best wishes charlyduru: |

Hello, The trv(visa) you’ll get cannot exceed the length of your passport. So if you submit a passport expiring February, the expiry date of the trv will be February, and this is not reasonable. If you submit your application and the decision isn’t made in time, you can send a new LOA with a new start date. But please check with your school to know the deadline for a deferral so you don’t miss it. I guess you can apply with this passport if you’re in a hurry and then send the data page of the new passport via webform and email once you get it. Best wishes Glasses08: 1 Like |

Hello, Your sponsor can send the living expense to your account. Minimum 10k cad. Sponsor should state he has done that in his letter of sponsorship. You should state it in your SOP and highlight the date, so it tallies with your bank statement. The transfer should carry sponsor’s name The remaining amount in sponsor’s account after deducting your expenses should be substantial enough to take care of of sponsor and his needs. So sponsor’s account should be solid. Unfortunately, other reasons of rejections can come up. You can avoid it by making sure you tighten every corner of your application. Your situation has improved considerably. State that you had no reason to travel until now. I have never seen travel history stand alone as a reason for refusal. If you tackle other ones well, you’re good to go. You uncle can transfer your living expenses to your account. And make mention that he has done that in his Letter of sponsorship and that he’ll continue supporting you throughout your studies. You should also mention in your SOP that your uncle has transferred that to you on so so date and attach your bank statement. You can include an affidavit of support from a court done by your uncle if you want. Bearing a surname is not enough proof. They want to be sure you have access to the person’s money. Sending your living expenses can help convince (minimum of 10,000 cad) Stating that this uncle has been supporting you since is good but if there’s no proof, the visa officer can disregard it. If your uncle has ever sent a huge amount of money to you or something that shows he has ever supported you financially, you can attach that proof. Best wishes Glasses08: 1 Like |

Ah, your application is very positive. Maybe it’s just stuck in an office that hasn’t started issuing PPR. If you order gcms, PPR might likely come before it. Most of the sites are more or less the same. I can’t really recommend any Best wishes blinn007: |

Sorry to hear about it. Have you ordered your gcms at any point? That would help, at least if you see you’ve passed eligibility, your mind will be at rest. You can raise a web form as your application has gone over the normal processing time, but also order gcms if you haven’t. You shall testify blinn007: |

Hello biyilove In my opinion, the course is okay. The level of the course might be the problem. 4 years, loads of money just to gain knowledge, when you already have a Bsc? If I were the visa officer, I won’t buy it. You should go for a masters since you have a 2.1, and in the worst case a PGD. That would make much sense. There is no problem with going with a new course and level. Go ahead. State how this course will benefit your career, why it makes sense to spend such a huge sum on the course and why you didn’t do the course in Nigeria because these courses are widely available here. You indicated you’ll take over your dad’s real estate business, will the course you’re going for equip you with the ability to take over? If no, please drop that line. Anything you want to put in your SOP, think about it and make sure it’s reasonable and logical. Strategic marketing coms. Is it closely related to your work line? Sorry I’m not in the field so I don’t know. But looking at it from the outside it looks different to me. Make sure you’re picking the right course to avoid purpose of visit denial. For employment ties, submit an employment proof, a letter of introduction, your pay slips of 3-4 months and a study leave letter. Since your work is in marketing, mention some things you have achieved during your job. All the best biyilove200: 2 Likes |

Hello Glasses08 May I ask if you requested a gcms notes for this application? If you didn’t, please request one immediately. The gcms notes will show the visa officer’s exact concern. The reasons in the refusal letters are usually generic. Travel history on its own is not a big issue. Were there any other reasons given to you? If yes, please let the house know. If you tackle all other reasons, you can just write a short explanation that you’ve not had any need to travel out of the country, that’s why there was no travel history. From experience, travel history as a reason for refusal rarely stands alone. They just add it to other reasons. So you should aim at seeing the other reasons and solving them too. Not just the travel history. Best wishes Glasses08: |

Hello The plain rule is that you should have your 1 year tuition fee + at least 10,000 cad for your 1 year living expense. But they might expect you to show more money if you’re self sponsored. For your baby you would need an additional 4,000 cad or 5,000 cad if the school is in Quebec. It’s also not just about demonstrating the fund, you need to show the fund will continue to be available throughout your studies. Best wishes Queenmama03: |

Hello, You can stick to a business related course. As this is more recent. It could be said that you want to learn how to properly manage your business. Hope your salon/spa is registered with CAC? That would make it a lot better. There’s no province with higher acceptance rate as far as I know. If you do your homework well and package your application well, you’ll get the visa. @lekkiboe will tell you some courses. He’s our guru for that Best wishes Tee1583: |

Some schools take your last 2 years of study into account. So if you get good grades in your last 2 years even if you have a 2.2, you´ll still stand a chance of being admitted. Olayinkaji: 1 Like |

Honorable, I doubt it has anything to do with not getting a BVL. Applications are processed by different officers and affected by so many other factors, So BVL is not always according to when the application was submitted. AIP is already pointing in a positive direction. Your friend should keep calm and stay positive. Best wishes Lekiboboe: |

Hello adeenzo Please keep calm. 45 days is still within the normal processing time. What do you mean by “no response”? Have you done biometrics? Has it been updated? What is showing on your GC account under eligibility review and background check? If you wish you can order your gcms notes to see what has been done on your application. But you’ll still have to wait for about 35 days to receive that after ordering it. Best wishes adeenzo: |
