Hello EngrCGD

Your situation is sad but I think you are not going about it the right way.

A visa interview is not a place to correct your wrong.
Going to a visa interview to do all what you mentioned will lead to a refusal and you’re only making your matters worse.

You will be asked if you have any been refused visa before. Your answer should be yes, then you will be asked the reason why. This is where you can say your truth, and you can also attach a letter of explanation concerning this issue to your application if you want.

My advice is, the truth will set you free. Say the truth in an official manner. Put emotions aside and be realistic.

If you need professional help, find an IRCC registered consultant (make sure they are registered o) and they’ll assist. It’s pricey but they’ll handle it better.

Best wishes

EngrCGD:
Thank Chocs for your input and reply.

Honestly i'm having a lot sleepless nights on this issue, seriously i'm regretting all this anomaly.

Please i have two additional questions as regards to this issue.

1.) First i don't know if misrepresentation is considered a serious criminal related issue/offense such as drugs, money laundering, terrorism etc, though i know it is a crime and it is subject to being inadmissible in US immigration law however do i go ahead to tell the the truth to the Canadian VO that i purposely and ignorantly agreed with an agent to increase my year of birth and filled up other misrepresentation data when i applied for the US visa and was denied 3 times and i that also went ahead to apply for UK visa which i was denied on the ground of insufficient fund only?

2.) Even before the thought of applying for Masters to Canada , i already decided that i will apply for US visiting visa , not for the purpose of travelling actually but to RIGHT ALL WRONGS, i will going there during the interview, i will openly inform the consular , i have no intention to travel, i only want to make a confession, i will tell him/her that i only came here to free myself of the constant guilt feelings, that i'm truly sorry for what happened few years ago and that i wish i was never there and it never happened, that i acted on impulse, despite the fact that everything that was misrepresentation have come to pass , such as
- My age was increased up to 7 years, 2013 till now is 7 years already, i could have waited...
- The agent stated in the application form that i was married, then i wasn't, but now happily married.
- The agent stated i was a university graduate, but then i was only an OND graduate, but right now i have a B.ENG also and have served.
- That i was gainfully employed , all not true , right now not just self-employed but an employer of labor
oh how i wish this never happened.

So my friends and the gurus in the house, should i go ahead and book an appointment at US embassy to report myself and correct my bio data and update my true profile with them , i'm willing to accept whatever is the consequences of my action and to plead for forgiveness rather than waiting for them to find out ? or should i avoid US embassy for the remaining years since i heard biometric data takes about 10-15 years to expire and get wiped on their system, please how true is this , i need help ?

3.) Finally how do i go ahead to explain all these on a note to the Canada VO or should i just tell them only about the discrepancy on my passport year of birth that it's a mistake that was done at immigration and that i was asked to use the passport until when it expires so thecorrect changes can be made, and that now i have gotten a new passport with the correct data, if i just state it this way, what about the wrong profile with the US and UK, will they be able to get that information from these embassies. I'm confused

I'm really confused and lost right now, please help a brother, or should i suspend applying for this study visa until after 10-15 is completed from 2013/2014 so this biometrics at both embassies must have expired

But i really need to apply for my masters, this is the best time to do this as i wouldn't want to have a case of a STUDY GAP in future, and i'm very sure to get the visa considering my TIES, status and educational history ( OND mechanical, B.Eng mechanical, and intended Masters also mechanical ) but this issue at hand is discouraging me, or should i go ahead apply for the study visa (masters) for my wife instead though she prefers to manage our businesses here , she studies Biochemistry (2.1 ) and won't this still come back to hurt me even if i try to avoid it , please guys help me with the best advise right now.

Waiting for your inputs.

Please my friends help a brother.

Hello Dbankx1

1) He should go to the bank and request for his bank statement to be printed out, each page must be stamped by the bank. 4-6 months bank statement. You should scan this and upload it under proof of funds, merge it with the other documents which show financial capabilities.

2) there is no accommodation requirement. You’re good to go.

Please kindly read from page one of this thread until the end to get familiar with the requirements for application and the right section to upload each document. At the bottom of the page, you’ll see the page numbers, click on 1 and start reading.

Please try and get it right, no need rushing and then ending up making a mistake that will affect your application.

Best wishes
Dbankx1:
Hello thanks for the reply,
Also how do I send my fathers bank statement, he uses first bank and they do not offer the online bank statements sending to the embassy, do I just upload it to a pdf file and send it that way?

2.) I have not paid for my accommodation, will that be a hitch in my application or is there no need to attach an accommodation recipt?

Hello EngrCGD

1) YES! Please make sure you indicate if you’ve been denied visa to any country! as they’ll still find out and it can lead to a 5 year ban.

2) It shouldn’t have any effect, if you are truthful about the reason, except it was a criminal related issue

3) They all share information, so if you lie, they’ll still find out. And you’ll get a ban from Canada.

4)if I were you, I’ll attach a small note to explain the error in the date of birth then I’ll do an affidavit in a court, declaring my real date of birth and attach it. That should sort it out.

Hello gurus in the house, good morning

@Frankrobbn1
@naijaforeigner
@JustMellow
@Lekiboboe
Etc

Please i need your answers on my below questions;

1.) When filling the Canada study permit form, does the form require one to indicate if you have been denied any country Visa previously especially US and UK ?

2.) If YES, does previous US and UK visiting visa denials have any effect on the outcome of your Canada Study permit Visa ?

3) Please is it true that UK, US , Canada and Australia share same biometric data with each other or information of applicant denied a visa ?

4.) Lastly please i have a very important issue bothering me which have prompted all the above questions, sometime in 2013 and 2014 i was denied a US and UK visas and the date of birth on my international passport was incorrect ( Wrong year of birth but with correct Month and day of birth) , the visa agent filled up some misleading information to correspond with the age increase ( About 7 years added to my real age) , then i was so desperate to travel, i only have my my OND cert then, after the visa denials i decided to stay back and further my education, so i later proceeded and got my B.ENG , now i want to apply for masters in canada and i'm well established here in Nigeria with 2 companies, married with other TIES, i have been living with the guilt of the misleading data on my passport and information at the US and UK embassies and because the wrong DOB will not also correspond with the DOB on my educational document ( e.g WAEC) i have applied to go to Abuja soon to correct the information and have the date of birth correct on a new passport to apply for the canada study permit.

Now my biggest fear is, if the Canada consulate will get my previous data information from the US or UK embassy.
I have not seen the Canada Study Visa form if the question for previous visa denial for US , UK or any other country will be asked or not, but definitely i'm willing to say the truth in my application and ready to face the consequences, i just want to make everything right , i regret my action few years ago. I was misled by the visa agent then.

NOTE: i traveled to Dubai twice (2013 and 2016) with the wrong year of birth, though the passport with the wrong year of birth is expired and like i said, i will soon have a new one with the correct data.
UK informed then that i had insufficient funds as reason for denial while US, didn't give any reason for the denial, simply was denied after interview.

Please kindly reply my above questions and advise me on what to do guys. Please help a brother, i'm really bothered.

Hello Dbankx1

1) 23M is enough. You’re expected to show 1 year tuition + living expenses of at least 10,000 cad. If you calculate yours, 23+10=33k. If the money is in your dad’s account please let him write a sponsorship letter promising to take care of all your financial needs.

2) You can attach any other means of ID for him, if that’s what you want to use the passport to show.

3) If I were you, I’ll put my NYSC.

4) If you’re applying in a few days, and you already have all docs on ground and you’re organized, you can still go ahead. But if you need to start learning about how to package your docs, looking for documents and all now, it might be a bit late.

5) Hopefully a guru good with SOP can help you.

Hello Luwaluwa

You do not need to pay another visa fee.

When you get a new passport just inform IRCC via a webform and email and attach the new data page of the passport.

If you applied from Nigeria, use these email addresses and the webform :

Email (nairobi@international.gc.ca, nrobi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca, nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca)

Good evening,

Please, I have not received response from IRCC as regards my study visa and my passport will expire in a months time and I want to get it renewed. Someone said I have to pay another visa fee because the new passport will have another number on it.
Is this true? Is there anything like payment of another visa fee?

Hello shoyemiayodeji

A sponsor must not be related. People have gotten approval with unrelated sponsor. When using an unrelated sponsor, it’s good to make it clear why that person decided to spend so much on you.

But if you have a related sponsor that would be great.

Hello @lekkiboe

The summary of this is that, if 150 days has passed since the student’s intended start date of the program, the VO should ask the student to show an updated letter of acceptance to be sure the student still has an admission for a new start date before they continue processing the visa.

If it is less than 150 days since the start time for the course, they can continue processing without asking for a letter.

Based on this, it does not matter when you defer. They just want to see you still have an admission before issuing you a study permit.

Best wishes
Lekiboboe:
Happy Sunday to you all

I wanna ask what this means ,
(based on whether an Applicant who got AIP should defer or wait till he/she gets a Visa decision bfor Deferring).
NB:Program only available for Sept INTAKE., and Program has started alrdy for Fall 2020

The Applicant got a mail from the school which goes thus,

Please see the IRCC instruction on this

DEFERRED ENROLMENT

After a study permit application is submitted (150 days or less)
If less than 150 days have passed since the intended program start date, officers should continue to process the study permit application.

After a study permit application is submitted (more than 150 days)
If more than 150 days have passed since the intended program start date, officers should request a new letter of acceptance from the applicant to confirm if the student has deferred their enrolment to a later date. Officers should follow the instructions concerning Requests for additional documents on open applications and allow 90 days for the applicant to respond "

My Question now is,

With the above mail from the skool, Is it safe not to defer yet until 150 days is complete starting from the program Start Date (which is September 8 ) and 150 days from that date is around early February 2021.

Thanks...

Hello Queenmama03

If the course/ school is the type that gives everyone their prospective supervisors automatically then you can apply without contacting. But if it is the type that says a supervisor must eventually accept you before you can be admitted, then please make contact with supervisors and try to secure someone except you don’t mind the application fees going to waste if something goes wrong.

You can read the admission requirements and see if it’s stated there. It usually is. If it’s not, you can send the program an email to inquire.

Best wishes

Hello all
Please I intend to apply for a thesis-based masters program in Canada, but for my intended course most of the schools I’ve searched don’t require securing a supervisor prior to applying. Given this information Is it still necessary to contact faculty members? Because I see a lot of people doing this. Please kindly advise.

Hello Grace001

Adding to what @silvamania said, this amount is insufficient.

Your friend needs to show at least 30,100 cad (20,100 cad + 10,000 cad) And it should not be exact, some more money should be left after deducting this sum.

And if he/she is self-sponsored, the visa officer might want to check how he/she will pay for subsequent years.

Hello Ifelajulo

If you are asked for an updated letter and you can’t provide one, it will be concluded that you don’t have an admission. And if they contact this institute they’ll find out you don’t have a valid admission with them. Remember you need a valid admission (letter of acceptance) to be granted a study permit. So if this happens, most likely your visa won’t be granted.

2021 is almost here, before you know September 2021 would be here. Time is going. You should act fast. Apply for something else. If September is the only available one, then apply! Or what other choice do you have? Act fast!

What’s the name of the course so gurus in the house can suggest something close for you to apply to? Also is it PGD, PGC, MSc?

Best wishes
Ifelajulo:

@Chocs, thanks for feeling my pain. The school Michener Institute is the only institution offering the course in Canada. No other course is close to it. I have tried to apply for another program in another school but the resumption date for those courses is September 2021. But just wondering if that is not too long?

It will end in praise.

Hello Ifelajulo

Your case saddens my heart.

What if they ask for an updated letter of acceptance and you can’t provide one?

My advice for you now is to apply asap to other schools. If they course is same, fine. If you can’t find the same course, apply to the closest course. So that if an updated letter is asked for, you can send it and also attach a letter of explanation to explain what happened if needed.

Staying without any admission and hoping that the SP is granted is risky.

UPDATED

Good morning, all the gurus in the house
@Frankrobbn1
@naijaforeigner
@JustMellow
@Lekiboboe.

Please I need your take on this.

Please I need your advice on my application and the way forward.
I got admission for fall 2020 to one of the Colleges in Canada and I applied for visa through an agent.

I applied in June
Got AIP to proceed online study on August 5th
Got Biometrics in June 25
Got Medical Request on August 12.

All these were done and updated on my profile.

The problem now is that my course of study is Laboratory based and my school had asked me to come down to Canada for my study on first week in September but I don't have the full study permit to come. I wrote a letter to the Registrar explaining my predicament that I just got AIP and that I can't travel without full permit. All my plea for deferment of admission or request to study online until the coast is clear fell in deaf ear. Later on my admission was withdrawn by the school.

Technically I don't have admission now though I paid a non refundable tuition deposit of 1,500 and due to the unclear future I didn't pay the full tuition fee.

Following the device of @JustMellow, yesterday I sent a message to the Registrar intimating him about my condition and telling him that I want to reapply again for the program. The registrar told me that I should not reapply now that they don't intend to admit International students in fall 2021 that if I can wait till Fall 2022 then I can reapply.

How should I proceed with this my condition?.

If am giving full SP what can I do with it?

If I apply for another course in another school for summer or winter, can I use this SP?

Please am confuse, I need help.

You can’t get your gcms notes in 3 days. You apply for it and wait for them to send it. There’s no way to “rush” them or make them send it within a specified time. I think the earliest receipt of gcms notes I’ve seen is 2 weeks. Note that it can even take up to 30-35 days to receive it.

Thank you so much honorable. Really helpful
Lekiboboe:

Hi Honorable Chocs

Visit the link below for Schools in Canada offering Masters in Accounting

https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=Accounting&program_level_merged=Master%27s+degree&program_language=ENGLISH

Am not too sure if there is funding for Commerce Related Thesis Program like Accounting etc., it's mostly Science & Engineering field i do know of that offers funding.

But who never can tell, only a Professor or Profesors in Accounting at Canadian Universities can be able to answer the question about funding.

If a Student in Accounting is Hoping to Get Funding, this is what he/she can do, explore the Hidden Route to Get Hidden Funded Thesis-based M.SC/PH.D in Canada

Route to get Hidden Funded Thesis-based MS.C or PH.D in Canada

Since scholarships are mostly competitive & often select fewer people, you don’t want to put all hopes on them. Another (perhaps better) way is by "contacting Professors"

In Canada for example, Professors often have research grants to work on a particular project(s). Ideally, this might be a year, 2 to 5yrs (or even longer) depending on the funding. The output of this is to publish papers & make some evidence-based results.

The Professors are mostly busy (as you can imagine, teaching and all), so they need some outstanding students to do this research with them.

The students (Research Assistant) will work on the Professor's research & funded through the research grant.

This grant (in most cases) will be enough for you. It can also be combined (depending on each school policy) with Teaching Assistant (where you assist Prof in teaching a particular course & get paid for it). This way, you work with Professor, get paid & get your MSc/Ph.D.

So, how do you go about this?

How do you contact Profs- especially since they don't know you before?

You need to reach out to potential advisors (Profs)

You have to identify your strength, what excites you most in your course of study?

What would you like to study?

E.g:
You like Forensic Accounting, What in Forensic Accounting excites you most?

You need to identify a research question and your strongest motivation for studying what you want to study.

Your questions need to start with:
How? Why? What? Etc.

A research question can be like:

Detection of Income Manipulation

What's is the result-oriented path to Prevent Income Manipulation ?

Now you have something interesting to you, look for Profs working in those areas:

A. Use google
eg: Prof. of Forensic Accounting in Canada. Once you see anyone interesting, visit their website, read their papers, connect something they’re currently doing that interest you.

B. Search for schools-
Eg: University of Alberta,. Visit the dept of Accounting, they will list all Profs, their website & contact.
Once you identify Prof(s) you like in the field of Accounting, send them an email (state your interest in joining their lab, attach your CV and transcript if you have).

If there’s a potential fit, they'll reply, probably schedule an interview with you via Skype or Zoom (online).

If all goes well, you'll be encouraged to apply for admission & if admitted (your funding will be confirmed), & boom, you’ve got it.

this seems a better way of getting funding.

So, what are they looking for in you?

This is like a Job, the Prof. wants to see you’re a good candidate & can do research.

In particular, the prof wants to see:
1. If you've published a paper Or show that you can write a research paper?

2. Your achievements- CGPA, Awards etc

3. Your enthusiasm, your curiosity in that research, especially if you can quickly come up with a research question

4. Your skills-
Can you use some software that will help the Professor research? (Peach Tree etc).

What do you need to start preparing now for the scholarship round

1. Identify what you would like to work on- very important.
2. Your transcript
3. Identify your referees
4. Start sending emails to Professors now.

5. Start writing a draft of your statement of purpose and Personal statement (tailor it to the scholarship).

Hello saipn.

A general tip for writing your statement of purpose. Written by @lekkiboe

Guidelines on How to write an SOP (Statement of Purpose)

Most important thing: Avoid Plagiarism

While writing SOP, the following things to be mentioned which will boost chances of convincing a VISA OFFICER and possibly getting a STUDY VISA APPROVAL:

1. Introduce yourself in first paragraph. Write, what kind of person you are, your interests and personality etc. This may also include one line background of work & study you did earlier. This should be related to the course your are going to pursue.

2. Explain what do you know about the area of study you are applying for.
Like HR, Marketing, Finance, IT, Multimedia, Engineering etc. Market trends, application of knowledge in work, organisations/roles where you can work after studying in this XYZ field and if possible, 1-2 real life example where you experienced this personally (in your current job or someone in family who works in this field etc.)This shows you are well read and know what you are getting yourself into.

3. Now explain Why Canada.
Mention all points Canada is famous for like low crime rate, diversity (which helps in learning), livability and quality of life related statistics etc. Facts & figures help you here. Google a little

4. Why this particular college/Univ. Explain ranking of the same or relevance of course being offered or if someone known is studying there etc. Mention positive points which you can gather from ex-student's testimonials and college website itself. Again, write in your own language and by your own understanding.

5. Why this Program:
Mention why you chose this program. Explain how courses (subjects) of this course will help you in your career, how some of these subjects you have learnt earlier (basic knowledge) and need better and upgraded knowledge about these (especially if applying for PG/masters), explain application of subjects in real job scenario etc.

6. Summarize with reason of coming back to home country: Now summarize all details by mentioning your career goals and what will you do post completing this course.Mention how this course will help you in making your career in your home country. Be passionate about job market of your home country and coming back to your country. Because "You'll not leave Canada" is one of the biggest reason for Student Visa refusal.

7.Travel history
If u av not travelled bfor, state the reason why u av decided to travel at this point of ur life, and how important the program is to ur career & personal development back home

8.Family Ties-Hime ties
U can talk about how children are apparent to family inheritance, and how u are obliged to take care of ur family (parent and siblings). U can attach their birth certificates

Secondly, talk bout Landed Properties (Documents, deed of assignment, Deed of conveyance, survey plans and other important doc.) to of prove ur Hometies

9. Proof of Funds
Mention that you have paid ur tuition fee or made a deposit of ur tuition fee and so so as amount has bin set aside by your sponsor for ur Tution fee (if not yet paid), so so amount for ur One year Living Expenses (might be more than one year) and so so amount for ur flight itinerary

10. Final Note
U can end it like this or in ur own language
Dear Sir/Madam, I hope that you will find all my documents in proper order and I kindly request you to process my visa application as soon as possible. I am very much thankful to you for giving me your valuable time to process my student visa application.

Your Sincerely,
Write ur name and Surname

Happy Writing

Hello EngrCGD

1) No in my opinion, but I’m not a guru so others might have different opinions. I feel it does not help your SOP in anyway. What you should be making clear in your SOP is why you are choosing to do it in Canada when the course is being offered in Nigeria.

2) you’re applying for full time

For number 6 and 8. If I were you, I would move the funds to my personal account because using company accounts can complicate applications. Since you haven’t even applied for admission, you have enough to time to build your personal account up. You can pay yourself salary if you wish but I feel showing your documents of business registration is a good proof of source of funds, if you decide not to pay yourself.

Best wishes

@Lekiboboe Thanks so much for your assistance, this is really helpful.

Please i do like to ask few more questions;

1.) Do i need to state in the SOP that i was recently offered an admission in same masters program here in Nigeria but opted out and decided to broaden my knowledge in my field of study by applying to study in a Canada University and then include admission offer as proof , will this be an added advantage or should i completely leave that out and not mention it.
2.) Secondly do i need to apply for a full time or part time Masters program.

I look forward to your kind reply and clarification.

Please everyone , i do like your inputs on my below questions earlier especially the unanswered No. 6 and 8

Regards

Hello usmee

As @SKEPTA said previously, you are not required to submit this form. It is just a guidance for you. It is meant to help you see the documents you need to submit.

Hello bruv,

So do you suggest I go ahead, print it and fill it by hand or should I ignore and focus on the other 3 forms that you have mentioned?

Hello Mmesomamichael
I’ll advice you to order your gcms notes. It will show the most recent state of your application.

To order it, just google “GCMS notes sites Canada” and you’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 cad and can take up to 35 days to be ready. If you have anyone in Canada(citizen, PR or a temporary resident) to order it on your behalf it would cost $5 cad only.

Best wishes

Hi adeenzo

There are 2 options
1) wait until they get back to you (time frame isn’t very predictable)

2) order your gcms note to get the most up to date info on your application

Hi Chocs and nairalanders

Please do you have any idea the typical time frame for canada to initiate communication with an applicant after successfully submitting his/her application... i submitted my application on the 7th of Sept and up till now no word from CIC is that odd or its the normal long timeframe?
Ps... i have done my biometrics since because of my previous travel to canada, so no letter from them indicating i go for my biometrics
please see the screenshot below to see the status of my application

Hello Bruan

From the visa officer's notes, you’d need to work on
1) your funds
2) home ties
3) justify the money spent on the studies is reasonable (using your statement of purpose/letter of explanation) 4) You should also attach your BSC certificate and university transcript.

1) Funds
The rule is to show 1 year tuition + at least 10,000 cad for living expense. But for self sponsored applicants, it’s not uncommon for the visa officer to want to see how you’ll pay for the rest of your studies (if the study is more than a year)
Since you want to be self sponsored, I’ll advice you to have the tuition for your whole program available plus living expenses. You can also pay tuition for first year (please check and confirm the refund policy of the school before paying) The money should not be exact, have some little left over after all this is deducted.

2) Home ties
This could be a business, good job with study leave letter, your family members, lands/houses or assets, active community involvement. You should attach a proof and also state in your SOP that you’ll come back to them.

3) justify the money spent on the studies is reasonable
You have to justify how the course will help you advance in your career, why the money spent on the course makes sense (reasonable) You should talk about this in your SOP (statement of purpose)

Since you’ll be self sponsored, you’ll need to show the source of your income. If you’re employed (payslips and employment proof) or if you’re a business person (your business registration documents)

Best wishes

Hello ijeoma12345

To the best of my knowledge, it is not just about having the exact money for your tuition and living expenses . They want to see your sponsor is a capable and has a constant/good flow of income. That way, no matter what happens when you get there, the sponsor can take care of it. Also since you have 3 kids and you’re married, they’ll want to see how your kids and husband will survive in your absence (money) So your husband can’t use all his money he saved on your education. Some should be left for him and the kids staying behind. So your account and income source has to be worked on.

What type of investment is that? Statement of account is preferred to investments as I previously said. This little things can make or break your application. You can submit an investment certificate and be refused on the ground of insufficient funds, I’ve seen it happen to many people. Money already invested into something is not usually seen as “available”

Proving your sponsor’s source of income is mandatory. Showing money your sponsor has without proving the source (employment payslips or business registration documents) can lead to a refusal. This money he saved, what is the source? I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.

Have you thought of breaking the investment and transferring it to an account, leaving it to sit for 4 months, while you defer your admission and gain more knowledge to help you put in a strong application?

Hello Chocs.

Many thanks for your feedback. God bless you all for your help

Please i want to ask another question.

What if my husband saved this fund like a year ago and left it in an investment account accessible by him anytime but has not made much money since after he saved up enough money to cover my school expenses and all.Do i still need to get his statement of account4-6months that doesnt have much transaction history or i should only justify how he made the money that has been saved for this school a while ago.?

Awaiting your feedback please.

Hello Preshy2004

Sorry to hear about the refusal

In my opinion, Uk isn’t a bad choice especially since they’re restarting the post-study work visa (2 years)

Cheers
Preshy2004:
Hello good people. Hmmm my boy's Application was denied . I ordered for gcms note the vo stated that there was an inconsistent of deposit and withdrawals from my husband's account. Hubby said we should send him to uk for his undergraduate study. Hubby doesn't really like him to school in canada I wanted that. But with this refusal he his no longer interested in reapplying.
He has applied to uk university. Pls is it a good idea to send him to uk or should I convince him we reapply? He got admission in university of Leicester electronic and software engineering. While the admission in canada was computer science major. Thank you

Hello letskeeptalking

I would not advise it (personal opinion)
Only use it to show you have money to come back to. Not as a main source of fund, since the money is not readily available.

Hello all,

Has anyone ever used 25% of Pension Funds as part of the PoF?

Considering this is a temporary visa, if this advisable?

Hello ijeoma12345

Welcome to the thread.

I’ll give answers to some of your questions (questions 3,5 and 6)

3) you do not need flight tickets or accommodation bookings to apply for the visa. The medical exams are done at specific clinics, IOM or Qlife clinics. You can do an upfront exam (before your application, or after applying before they ask you to do an exam) OR you can apply and wait for IRCC to instruct you to go for the medical exam.

Police certificate is optional but I’ll advise you to do it, there’s nothing to lose.

5) there is no word limit for the SOP.

6) statement of account(4-6 months) is preferable to investments. The money should be readily available (liquid) Since he’s co-sponsoring, he should also include documents to show his source of income i.e employment/business (eg business registration documents since he works for himself) if he’s employed, he should include payslip and proof of employment (introduction letter, confirmation of appointment)

While you wait for others to respond, you can start reading the thread from page 1 (you can find the page numbers at the bottom of the page) so you can gain enough knowledge to help you put in a strong application.

Best wishes

Good day Fam,

Please i need your urgent help and guide and may God bless you as you help me.

Ok.. I just got my admission to study a post graduate certificate (8months to 1 year) program at Conestoga College Canada for January 18 2021 and would like to state the following before i proceed to enable you advice me accordingly.

1. I studied (BA)Mass communication 2005 and got admitted to study Broadcasting and digital performance in conestoga College. Please i would appreciate your candid advice because i'm married with 3 kids(2+,6 & 8 )years old respectively .I am 36yrs and hubby is 40yrs.I once travelled to Europe once while hubby went to the US and Europe. Just for the records. I work in a bank for the past 10yrs and my husband works and does personal consulting business as well and he is the major sponsor although i am also co-financing the program cost since am working as well. Now my question is would you advice i go with all my 3 kids or just the last child that is 2yrs+ and leave my hubby and two other kids as family home ties while him and the other kids join me later.?
2. My plan is to pay the acceptance deposit +first semester's fee even though we have the full tuition funds and living expenses. My question is would you advice i pay the whole one year tuition to prove our commitment?
3.Please i would like to know if i'm required to produce flight tickets and accommodation bookings, medical or police reports before uploading on the portal and submitting at the biometric appointment date?
4.Please is January 2021 realistic enough to meet up travelling abroad based on the Covid19 global pandemic to avoid the rush and panic.
5.Please is there a number of words required to writing the SOP?
6.Can my hubby use his investment bank letter instead of statement of account as proof of funds? does he require to add his pay slips?

Thank you all as i look forward to you candid help and advice.

Ijeoma.
