Hello TheExalted, Please check out the following link, it answers your question https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/students.html Since his classes can hold fully online, he’ll have to convince the border control why his coming to Canada is necessary. The ability to enter depends on if the border control officer is convinced plus his institution must have a covid-19 readiness plan. Best wishes TheExalted: 1 Like |

Hello, You didn’t share your profile, documents or answer all the questions. But I’ll assume you’ve learnt one or two things from the reply. Don’t forget to order your GCMS notes. Since your brother is a PR in Canada, he can order the notes for you and it would cost 5 cad. And also try to read this thread from page one to the end to get tips on how to put in a better application for the next. Best wishes Mydream211: |

Hello Mydream211 Sorry to hear about your refusal The reasons you were given in your refusal letter are generic. To see the specific cause of your rejection, you need to order your GCMS notes. To do that, just google “GCMS notes Canada sites” and you’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 and can take up to 35 days to be ready. Please order it immediately. From the notes you’ll see the visa officers concerns and you’ll be able to address them properly before reapplying. How much is your tuition for a year? How long is the course you applied for? Did you use a sponsor or are you self sponsored? How much proof of fund did you show? (Money available) For Canada you need to show tuition for 1 year plus at least 10,000 cad for living expenses (that’s why I asked how much your tuition is) For purpose of visit, it could be that your sop (statement of purpose) was weak or the course you’re going for does not align with your previous education or line of work. Meanwhile you can share your profile and all the documents you submitted so the house can advice you while you wait for your GCMS notes. For your profile you can share Age Marital status, kids if any Previous course studied and level (eg bsc, HND) Course you’re going for in Canada and level If you are employed, is your salary okay? Did you use a sponsor. If yes, Did you sponsor do an affidavit of sponsorship for you? Did you submit proof of any property or land you own? All the best Mydream211: |

Hello Thermodynamics This is not a response to your question. But whatever you choose, you’ll need to be able to explain (in your statement of purpose) how it aligns with your previous study and/or your work experience and how it would help you with career advancement. You can just put that behind your head when making your choice. Best wishes Thermodynamics: |

Hello MadeMan01 Sorry to hear about your refusal If you’re reapplying you’ll use same UCI number. The reasons you were given in your refusal letter are generic. To see the specific cause of your rejection, you need to order your GCMS notes. To do that, just google “GCMS notes sites” and you’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 and can take up to 35 days to be ready. Please order it immediately. From the notes you’ll see the visa officers concerns and you’ll be able to address them properly before replying. For Canada you need to show tuition for 1 year plus at least 10,000 cad for living expenses (that’s why I asked how much your tuition is) And sometimes they check it the person would be capable of paying the second year tuition (if course is more than a year) To tackle the insufficient funds, your sponsor can pay your tuition (please be sure of the tuition refund policy of your school before doing this) and he can also transfer 10,000 cad as living expenses to your personal account (he can state this in his sponsorship letter) this will show that your brother will sponsor you indeed. For purpose of visit, it could be that your sop (statement of purpose) was weak or the course you’re going for does not align with your previous education or line of work. Meanwhile you can share your profile so the house can advice you while you wait for your GCMS notes. For your profile you can share Age Previous course studied and level Course you’re going for in Canada If you are employed, is your salary okay? Your tuition for 1 year and total duration of the course Did you sponsor do an affidavit of sponsorship for you? Once you get your GCMS notes and see the concerns, you’ll work on them and attach a letter of explanation with your next application, stating what you have done to address the visa officers complain. All I have said are just speculations, the GCMS notes would make everything clear. Wait for experienced people in the house to drop their advice. All the best MadeMan01: |

Hello ayyoshert You’re welcome. MBA seems fine to me. The gcms notes would throw more light into the “purpose of visit” With your tuition, the funds you submitted cannot work. You tuition is high!! With approximately 26k per session. That’s about 52k cad for a year(correct me if I’m wrong please) If you add 52k and the 17k for living expenses I calculated previously, you’ll see your balance was too low. Also remember they’ll most likely want to see how you can pay your tuition for the second year. My advice would be to look for a course with cheaper tuition or take your time to build your account up. You’ll be needing a lot of money. All the best ayyoshert: |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 3:03am On Oct 04, 2020 |
Hello ayyoshert Sorry to hear about your refusal. First thing you should do is to order your gcms notes. The reasons you were given in your refusal letter is generic. To see the specific cause of your rejection, you need to order your GCMS notes. To do that, just google “GCMS notes sites” and you’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 and can take up to 35 days to be ready. Please order it immediately. From the notes you’ll see the visa officer’s concerns and you’ll be able to address it before replying if you decide to reapply. For your study permit application, you should show your tuition for the first year plus at least 10,000 cad for your living expense For the people accompanying you, you need 4,000 cad for the first and 3,000 cad for every additional person, so for your wife and son you need 7,000 cad This brings what you need to show for living expenses to 17,000 cad (approximately 5 million) plus Your first year tuition. Also note that since you’re self sponsored the visa office will check for prospects on how you’ll pay your tuition for the subsequent years (if the program is more than one year) So you need to show a lot of money. Was there any unexplained lump/huge sum deposit into the account in the time frame of the statement you submitted? That’s another reason for rejection on financial grounds. I’ll advice you build your account up a lot more. As for purpose of visit, it could be that your statement of purpose/letter of explanation was not very convincing or it could be that the course you’re going for isn’t showing a career/academic progression. For the house to be able to advise you properly, you can share what you studied previously and the level (eg bsc, HND) and the course you’re going for now and the level. Also share what area your current employment is in. Usually your proposed study should align with your previous study or employment. Please also share the length of the course you applied for in Canada and the tuition fee. As for family ties, you applied with your whole family. They think you won’t be coming back. You can tackle that by reapplying without them, and bringing them over after you’ve gotten your study permit. Although people have applied with their family and gotten it, if you want to do that, you’ll have to show strong financial ties to the country (landed properties, assets worth a lot, a good job to come back to etc) Lastly, if you’re applying without your family, you must show proof that they’ll be well taken care of in your absence (enough funds) All the money belonging to the family cannot be used for your studies. You’ll need to show a good amount available for their survival. All the best sir ayyoshert: 2 Likes |

Hello eusuph99 As far as I know there is no con. But going for a 1 year course means you’ll get a 1 year post graduation work permit. If you’re looking to apply for PR (permanent residence) it might be such a short time to to work and gain experience which would boost your CRS score for the PR application. Except you already have about 3 years of work experience. All the best eusuph99: 1 Like |
