Lol don't get me wrong here. I am not supporting his act of resisting arrest. That is an offence on its own my point is d manner d officers carried out d arrest. I know they might be under order to bring him in. But u mentioned one funny thing. Bring him in alive.. We're they suppose to kill him?
yomexp:
reason with him? you must be joking. it isn't in the purview to reason with him. i believe he was shown the arrest warrant but yet he resisted. the in it self is an offence. am sure the officers were under instructions to bring him to there office alive.

The man on his own path was wrong by resisting arrest but d officers did not try also they abused his rights also. This is wrong
yomexp:
operatives whisked away the former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Patrick Akpobolokemi, from the Federal High Court, Ikoyi on Monday.

One of the counsel to the embattled former NIMASA boss, Wilson Ajuwa, made this known to PREMIUM TIMES in a telephone interview.

Mr. Ajuwa said he feared for Mr. Akpobolokemi’s life.

The legal practitioner said the ordeal of the former NIMASA boss started shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari took over power.

“For some reasons, he has been under investigation for the last six months since President Muhammadu Buhari came into power,” Mr. Ajuwa told PREMIUM TIMES.

“He has been going to the EFCC back and forth and all sort of things are happening. The EFCC has invited the wife, his brothers and maltreated them.

“Eventually, they charged him to court before Justice Salihu Sa’idu on a 30 count charge and penultimate Friday while he was in their custody; they charged him again before Justice Mohammed Buba, all of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi Lagos.

“Both courts granted him bail after he was remanded in Ikoyi Prisons for seven days. His trial was supposed to start last week Tuesday but the court was adjourned for today.

“While we were in court, they filed a 2000 page proof of evidence and the counsels were unable to review the document and prepare their defence.

“The judge was averse to a prolong adjournment but decided to give the defence the benefit of the doubt by adjourning further hearing on the matter till January 18, 2016.”

Just as the former NIMASA boss stepped out of the courtroom, Mr. Ajuwa said persons suspected to be SSS operatives appeared with a detachment of policemen and beat up Mr. Akpobolokemi.

He said the operatives used force to re-arrest his client even then he had secured bails from two different court where he was charged by the Federal Government.

“It took us seven days to perfect the bail in both courts and so he is under two bails at the time they took him away,” he told this newspaper.

Asked if the government prosecutors had sought to squash the bails granted Mr. Akpobolokemi during the court sitting, Mr. Ajuwa responded in the negative.

Already, he said the matter had been reported to Justice Buba and a motion filed for the former NIMASA boss to be produced in court on Tuesday.

“With the way they treated him, we don’t know whether the man is alive or not. They beat him thoroughly before bundling him into their vehicle. The video is there for people to see,” Mr. Ajuwa said.

He then beat her, cutting her arms, legs and hands and stole her iPad, cell phone and $300.
The woman survived and told police that before he fled the hotel room offered her a glass of water.

He was arrested after police traced CCTV footage from the hotels as well as collecting DNA evidence from each of the rooms.
CCTV footage showed a man matching Omogbo's description wearing blue jeans and brown loafers entering and leaving the hotels at the time of the attacks.
Omogbo is now being held at Montgomery County Correction Facility on a no bond status. He will next appear in Court on January 8 and could face life in prison.

Politics / Re: Islam Does Not Allow Weapons, Explosive Or Bombs? – Sultan by chopido(m): 7:35am On Nov 22, 2015
Simple advice, tell them to bring as they fit train. Cause part of the reason y this children are easily radicalized is because nobody really cared about them so the terrorist that gave them false hope is seen as the only family they have.
LiveFromNaija1:
Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, has once again restated that insurgency has no place in Islam, advising Muslims to extract bad elements among them.

He also advised Muslims to teach their children to avoid the young ones from being needlessly radicalized and recruited into insurgency.

Sultan of Sokoto made the statement at the turbaning of the Grand Imam of Ekiti state, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere Bello, as the president general of the League of Imams and Alfas in Southwest, Edo and Delta states.

Abubakar said: “Occasions like this are not for celebration mainly but a time to tackle the situation facing us as Muslims in Nigeria and every part of the world.

“The problems that await the newly appointed president-general of League Imams and Alfas is to bring together all the Muslim leaders in this region and other parts of the country.

“This is to resolve and work together on how to stop our children from engaging in terrorisms. It is imperative for us as Islamic leaders to teach our children what is Islamic and what is not Islamic.

“I cannot imagine when a small boy or girl is paid to commit suicide and kill innocent people all in the name of using Islamic religion to perpetrate evil.

“For the record, those children and people killing innocent people in this country are not Muslims but terrorists.

“That is why the newly appointed president-general must ensure that adequate teaching of Islamic religion is given to Muslim brothers and sisters.

“I urge all the Islamic youths present in this occasion not to accommodate bad ones among you because they want to destroy the Islamic religion in this country and the world at large.

“Islam does not allow weapons, explosive or bombs, so, therefore, we must educate all our youths not to indulge in the act of terrorism.”

Nigeria’s militant Boko Haram sect is fighting to take over the government and create an Islamic state.

The group promotes a version of Islam which makes it “haram”, or forbidden, for Muslims to take part in any political or social activity associated with Western society.

For what?? I thought he said he was going to do without asking for loan? Now he wants such amount I ask again for what
DONSMITH123:
By Henry Umoru & Joseph Erunke
ABUJA – – President Muhammadu Buhari, has sent a supplementary appropriation bill for the 2015 fiscal year to the Senate for approval.

The president, in a letter conveying his request, which was read Wednesday, during plenary, by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, asked the Senate to grant his request to borrow the sum of N2.10 trillion to finance the budget.

He explained that the N882 billion loan earlier proposed by the past government to finance the budget had to be raised to N2.10 trillion, due to emerging realities in the country.

The source of the loan, according to the president, would be from both local and foreign.
