I still stand to be corrected. Since u have more than 4years work exp in the tasks required of an industrial engineer (according to u) then I guess ur good to go nominating that. But unless u really need the points u will claim from work exp,I'll advise u nominate ur 1st degree to make things easier. Just like it has been said here time without number,u don't need work exp to assess with EA. U can use related ITs and projects done during ur study. All these can be used comfortably. But the choice is solely urs.

Note u can't just say u have an engineering degree and so u can nominate any engineering profession,it doesn't work that way because they usually scrutinize ur transcript and expect u should have done certain courses. This is what a certain number (I honestly don't know how many exactly) of work exp years can cover for.

First of all,I stand to be corrected,u can't get a positive assessment in an occupation u have no degree in with just work experience except that work experience is up to 5years and even so its still the sole decision of the assessing body in question.

Secondly,I don't know much about wood products engineering but if u feel it rhymes with the tasks of an agricultural engineer then u might be on the right track. To be on the safe side, send EA an email tabling this out n ask if u can nominate agricultural engineering. Though I know they'll still say that ur transcript will speak for u,so if u can compare what u did in sch to what agric engineers do n u see about 60% similarities then u might also be on the right track. Above all,do ur homework and get ur facts right before u do anything.

GTB is high yes but one can't really avoid them cos they have a high daily spending limit.
deleyi20:

This rate is Today's rate... IBTC is the cheapest so far. Avoid GTB and First Bank cheesy cheesy
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by chuckdee13(m): 9:02pm On Jul 19, 2016
Yes its N230 per dollar but daily limit is US$500 and monthly is US$1500. The most important is daily not monthly.
deleyi20:

Wow, it's quite expensive. Stanbic IBTC charges NGN230/1aud... However, I can't ascertain if the bank has above $1000 monthly spending limit.

In addition to what bellong and humanshado have said, pls go to www.anzscosearch.com and study the tasks required for the engineering profession ur nominating and make sure ur career episodes are in line with them and if assessing work experience, same thing applies. This is to avoid getting an engineering technologist outcome.

I'll honestly urge u to go to the first page of this thread, read thru all the steps and go thru the links. And then where u get confused u can ask a specific question, someone will be delighted to help u out.
However, I advise u go for the PR route and then when u get there u can do ur masters.

if u had seen the previous posts u will see that theres now a new center in port harcourt...u can register with them on PTE site I just confirmed its on the site.
catchdwind4rmkd:

Thanks, I saw the Owerri centre but the logistics part of travelling to Owerri to take the test is discouraging. I might have to do it in Lagos as I already have such plans of travelling to Lag, and I wouldn't be needing to pay for accommodation since I have a place there.

@chuckdee13

Thank you very much. Thank God I asked o, because my transcript is 4 pages and I had scanned it all into one document. With this info now, I'll have to separate them. Thanx again.
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by chuckdee13(m): 10:52am On Jul 14, 2016
Any document u have thats more than one page must be scanned as a single document and uploaded as such.
funkyjo:
Hello House,

Please when uploading documents for EA assessment, do I have to upload them individually for example BSc Transcript page 1, BSc Transcript page 2, BSc Transcript page 3 or I am to upload it as just one document - BSc Transcript?
Thank you.

U need to find out the daily transaction limit for those banks u mentioned. Maybe the fees have exceeded it so it won't go. But GTB has a high daily transaction limit n thats what I used just has Humanshado has said.
So either u try that one or confirm from ur bank. also ask whats the exchange rate cos maybe u calculated with a lower rate n put that amount in ur account and so it won't go cos of insufficient funds.

Please those that was assessed as professional engineers by Australia Engineers, how do you pay for assessment. I have used both my first bank master card and UBA Africard but the payment section keep showing "An error has been encountered with your form submission.
Error message
Please try again."

I have enough money in both account.Any suggestion please?

Go to www.engineersaustralia.org.au all the info u need is therr. Download the msa booklet and study it,it'll help u to prepare ur CDR. U can come back with specific questions during ur study.

For the primary applicant it costs $3600, for an additional applicant above 18 it costs $1800, and for an additional applicant below 18 it costs $900.This is the way I understand it though theres a note there, others can clarify.

If he/she gets 20 points from English, even being in the 33-39 age bracket, 189 is still on the table. Please don't mislead.
humanshado:

if your age is between 25 and 32, you can assess your BEng with Engineers Australia and try and ace IELTS with at least 8 in all four sections of Listering, Reading, Writing and Speaking. You will have enough points to apply for Skilled Independent 189 without claiming points for work experience. However if you are in the 33-39 age bracket, you will have to seek State nomination. Good luck.

A CDR must be written whether ur claiming points for work experience or not. U need to read the msa booklet so u get the full picture. I dunno what application u say u filled cos if u did fill the one I know there r compulsory places to upload the 3 career episodes, summary statement and cpd. Pls read the msa booklet n then ask specific questions on things not clear to u.
catchdwind4rmkd:
I'm kind of confused about this CDR. Do I need a CDR for MSA if I'm NOT claiming EMPLOYMENT POINTS?. I filled in the application for EA MSA but didn't submit it coz I wasn't ready to pay at the time. However, I wasn't asked to upload a CDR at any point in the application.

So, please can someone clarify on who needs a CDR and what stage of the application is it needed? Thanks.

I sent u an email earlier...got a professional engineer outcome for petroleum engineering. So now I need to go for state nomination.
jukeblam:

That's a plus then; less stress to get positive assessment.

How far with yours?
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by chuckdee13(m): 4:28am On Jul 05, 2016
Just an addition...if IT is one of ur career episodes, having an IT completion letter will be awesome.
jukeblam:

Employers' reference is needed for EA if any of the career episodes is based on employment; however, some people are able to write their CDR's fully based on projects done during undergraduate/graduate studies- this is permitted by EA. In such a case, no need to provide employer's reference.

Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by chuckdee13(m): 4:46pm On Jul 04, 2016
U dont really need to provide a reference for each career episode. I didnt use for one of mine. And i didnt use a reference I just used my employment letter.

Hi all, please who knows the current exchange rate charged by banks for aud?
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by chuckdee13(m): 12:40pm On Jun 23, 2016
U first need to get and assessment done with ur assessing body. only then will u know if u need more points in english or not, though its advisable to get more points with english. u also need to check the CSOL of the different states to know which ones r sponsoring ur occupation and what their criteria are.
