Education / Delay In NYSC Posting by Collinsemegreat(m): 8:28am On Mar 30, 2021
I am currently in my finals in one of the FederaL Universities in SS.

I noticed some of my Seniors who have graduated take time to go for NYSC while some few months they are off to camp.

Can someone educate me on some of the cause of delays to possibly avoid them when necessary.

You are a single guy, this is one of the best positions one can be in when planning to migrate ... why would it even cross your mind to tie yourself down at this point?

Marry now and you will have to hustle twice as hard to take care of yourself, whilst also maintaining a woman back home and struggling to bring her over to where you are - of which ..if your plans fail or you're not able to secure your stay on time, she might get antsy and move on without you.

This is an unnecessary burden when you can easily find someone to settle down with abroad... there are lots of decent black British, black American, black Canadian girls of Nigerian heritage you can fall in love and build a future with - who will also be happy to help you secure your stay through marriage.

Romance / Re: What's The Most Embarrassing Moment You Can't Forget by Collinsemegreat(m): 1:35pm On Nov 29, 2020
UwaMmebii:

hmmm I have encountered the same scenario, there is this woman that trusted me so much when I was in Abuja, she is a bank manager she sometimes bring her three daughters to my apartment to look after them as I always dey house trading FX, crypto and programming. I was so gentle, soft spoken and honest to her because the woman had tested me before in other things but I excelled through the test. So one fateful day, I went to their apartment close to mine as I normally do when I am less busy or sometime she do call me on phone to come. So when I reached there after having a good time with them and watching bbn, she told me that she wants to attend wedding tomorrow that I should come tomorrow to help her look after the three daughters as they are all girls, I agreed and the following morning I carried my laptop and and my FX books go there. She prepare and left with her friends and the elder daughter.she left behind the second child and the last borne, the second child have all I needed in a woman both fine face and rounded hip and pointed breast though she is 17yrs but look like someone in her mid 20. One thing lead to another i smashed her in her own bed room, her mum came back earlier than expected and that time we were both fast asleep after the numerous round of sex we didn't even hear when the gate man opened gate for them. The woman was knocking on the door when she entered inside the house but we didn't hear anything, it's the last child that went to open the door for them, it was quite embarrassing as she open her second child room's door and behold us stark naked holding ourselves. The woman started crying and was lamenting after all the trust she bestowed on me. We are still cool though, she told my Mum that she can't believe I'll do that to her daughter that see me as blood brother. My Dad and mum went there and settled the case. I also went there and pleaded with her to forgive me. She forgived me and advised me to see them as my sister, that i should protect them as my blood. She still trust me despite everything though. But that was the embarrassing moment of my life.

how old were you then?

Okay.
Hello. I haven't really posted anything on here before but I need the help, so it's worth a try.

I'm a medical student in my 3rd year and I believe I'm going to fail my first professional examination. I've been doing very badly, not because I have difficulty understanding or because I'm not passionate enough but because I can't seem to get what I'm reading to stick in my head.

I read and come back and reread and still, if you ask me a question on the topic, I won't know anything.

I did badly the last two semesters. My Anatomy is good enough but my Biochemistry and Physiology have gone to hell. I don't know what to do.

I haven't completed any of the first and second semester's work and I'm struggling to find my footing with third semester.

I feel defeated and depressed. I don't want to repeat or withdraw.

What study methods does anyone, any medical student or anyone think I can use to be able to remember what I've read?

Please, help.

Education / Re: Buhari Ordered Lecturers To Return back To work as he deemed strike unacceptable by Collinsemegreat(m): 7:54pm On Nov 18, 2020
pegix:
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday urged the striking lecturers to return to classrooms.

The President gave the order at the 72nd Foundation Day/Convocation ceremonies of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State.

Represented by the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Abubakar Rasheed, the President described as unacceptable the prolonged disruption of the academic calendar of public universities.

“This (disruption of calendar) is as a result of strikes by university-based unions particularly members of the academic staff union,” the President said.

In the Abuja Zone under Lagi are the Federal University of Technology, Minna; Nasarawa State University, Keffi; Ibrahim Babangida University, Lapai; Federal University of Lafia, and University of Abuja.

According to him, the strike had since February because the government has not shown commitment or willingness towards addressing the union’s core demands for students to resume studies.

He reminded members of the union of the advice to seek other legitimate means of survival as the government has not released salaries withheld since February, 2020.

Lagi said: “Today, we wish to let Nigerians, especially our students and parents know that there is no hope in sight to ending or suspending the ASUU strike that lingered for long.

“Government is yet to show serious commitment towards addressing our core demands.

“One needs not to be a psychologist to understand the behaviour and recent utterances of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, by showing his disdain for Nigerian academics and has failed to play the role of an unbiased umpire in moderating the imbroglio.

“He has now become the spokesperson to the accountant General of the Federation and Ministry of finance, instead of finding solution for lecturers to get back to work.

“He is turning the wheel of progress backwards by setting ASUU on collision with other pressure groups in the university.

“In the past few weeks for instance, Ngige has said one thing when he met with the union and a different thing on the same subject in an interview with the media.

He described as worrisome not only to students but parents who patronise public varsities the attitude of the minister as a negotiator in the face-off.

“On this, we will like to educate the honourable minister that public universities in Nigeria are creatures of law as each university is established by an Act enacted by the National Assembly,” he said.

He however, called on the renegotiation of the 2009 Agreement, payment and mainstreaming of Earned Academic Allowances into salaries, release of funds for revitalisation of the Nigerian university system among others.

Ordering ASUU members back to work, Buhari said the teachers have been on strike since February over more of payment of salaries and emoluments as well as funding and sundry issues.

He said: “We recognise the rights of workers to express their grievances, through lawful actions, including strikes.

“However, there is a reciprocal obligation on the part of workers and unions to ensure the survival and sustainability of their places of employment.

“Strike action tends to compound the problems in the education sector. The current strike by university teachers has gone on for too long and caused enough devastation in lives of students and the universities alike.

“I urge university teachers to return to their classrooms and seek further accommodation with the government, from the productive ambience of their campuses.”

Buhari also vowed to sanction members of the university community found to be violating the selection process of new vice chancellors, stressing that the process is meant to be open and transparent and credible enough to produce best candidates.

The President said: “Let me add that government is particularly worried about the avalanche of petitions, many bordering on serious allegations of bribery and corruption as well as disrespect for due process, in the course of selecting a new vice-chancellor in some of our federal universities.

“Government has set in motion several mechanisms to monitor the selection process with a view to taking appropriate measures to ensure that the processes are conducted in an open, fair and transparent manner and that all violators are properly sanctioned

Education / Outcome Of ASUU Meeting Yesterday 11/11 by Collinsemegreat(m): 9:43am On Nov 12, 2020
Yesterday, The Federal government delegates made its position known to ASUU that they will be able to offer 30bn and 20bn for EEA but ASUU insisted on a complete 110bn as agreed since 2009 and 2013 plan. ASUU again frowned at IPPIS, stating that they are not ready to compromise..
...by suspending strike until UTAS verification test has been completed.

2. ASUU has positioned that the UTAS will be ready within three weeks. Although, FG resist the process claiming that striking lecturers can join the IPPIS platform now and later use the UTAS whenever it's ready.

3. FG through the Minister of Labour, Senator Chris Ngige and Honourable Minister of State for Education has accused ASUU of breaching Labour or Trade Law. In his statement "You cannot determine for your employers", the platform to be adopted in paying your salaries...It's arbitrarily wrong.

No additional 10bn has been been offered. Had that happened ASUU would have accepted it.

Not true... Read the news of today on ASUU president discussion on Channels TV there are good with the retrenching of the 10bn twice by 2021.

What to be the main issue now is that they don't want IPPIS.
